Funny story is the old underboss was released from prison, and one of the prerequisites of his parole was to avoid any contact with organized crime figures. NYPD vice cops busted porn king Jason Itzler, 37, owner of alleged hooker haven NY Confidential, at Chelsea's Gansevoort Hotel this week, days after seven of his employees were nabbed in a raid on his Worth Street headquarters.
Itzler, whose high-priced escort business raked in at least $3.6 million a year, was charged with drug possession, promoting prostitution, money laundering and falsifying business records.
He's also in hot water in New Jersey, where he's on parole from state prison after serving six months of a 5-year sentence for smuggling nearly 4,000 "ecstasy" pills through Newark Airport.

This time on the New York Board related to Busted NY Confidential Agency. Owner Jason active on TER and apparently gave expensive gifts to TER owner Dave...
This could have been a single agency (NY Confidential) paying to play so to speak. They get to use the NY board and corrupt the review system to boost their business. In return TER would get something. It may not be cash but certainly something of value. Giving the monies involved with that agency, I highly doubt that a freebie or two for Staff would suffice. If an exchange of valuables did occur, logic would dictate that it was substantial.

Marty Turkel On Erotica LA
I don't have many friends in this industry, but for some reason, I've always been friendly with Marty Turkel. I first spoke to him in the summer of 1998 when I hitched a ride over to VCA with Rob Spallone.
Marty was VCA's longtime head of sales.
For some reason I've never understood, Marty's always liked me, even though there was every reason for him to hate me.
Marty's not been a source for me. He's never given me scoops even though a lot of people thought he did (perhaps he verbally defended me when his peers were trashing me). But whenever we've met, we've each lit into a genuine smile because we liked and respected each other.
Marty, Ed Kail, Rob Spallone and I have hung out a few times. It's always good.
I've always thought of Marty as a straightshooter and an honorable man. He's been married for about 50 years.
Turkel now works for the nice folks at Juicy Multimedia where he seems to be happy.
Rob Spallone called me Thursday morning. He had something on his mind. "I'm going to the bank and I'm going to lunch [with Marty and Ed]. I just picked somebody up and I want you to call him later. I want him to do an interview with you about a story that you wrote.
"You wrote a story about Eddie Wedelstedt that's all false."
Duke: "Oh, ok."
Rob: "When you rewrite this story from the horse's mouth, you have to put on it that you have to apologize because you had the wrong story."
Duke: "OK."
Rob: "It's a very reliable source. His name is Marty Turkel."
Duke: "Ohhh. I know Marty."
Rob: "He's the one who made the deal to sell the Erotica LA. You put up a story that's completely wrong."
1:30pm. I get Marty on the phone.
Marty: "This guy who gave you the information is very wrong.
"I was part of that committee [LF: in my opinion Eddie W was the leader of this committee, de jure if not de facto, other people on the committee were owners of major XXX-industry companies] that took over the expo Erotica LA. We spoke to [Ron Miller] about it. We told him pointblank, 'We're going to be starting up a show. We don't want to be in competition with you, but unfortunately we will be in competition with you. So, what we would rather do, we'd rather buy you out.'
"He said, 'Well, it's starting to do good...' We sat down with him and the deal we worked out was that he'd get $10,000, a guarantee of a year's salary working for AVN [LF: I believe this amounted to $100,000] helping them get familiar with the show. And we would get his girlfriend Brooke [Hunter] jobs with each of the manufacturers on the committee.
"We did all of that. Everything was done right. There was no mention whatsoever about children or anything of that nature."
Duke: "I heard his kid was threatened."
Marty: "I would never ever get involved in something like that."
Duke: "I wasn't told the committee threatened his kid. I was told that Eddie's people, employees, threatened Ron Miller's kid."
Marty: "I do not know. And I'm not going to..."
Duke: "Speak on their behalf."
Marty: "Right. I know that we took it over. We sat down with Paul [Fishbein, president of AVN], and worked this out.
"The committee that we had set up was trying to raise funds for a report on secondary effects [of having a sexually-oriented business in a neighborhood].
"When I saw that [my report Wednesday], I thought, 'My God, nobody... I shouldn't say nobody. We never threatened him. He agreed to the deal that we set up. And it was not easy to get all these people involved in it.
"One thing you can take to the bank is that I would never in a million years have done something like that."
Duke: "I know you wouldn't. And it wasn't alleged that your committee did. It alleged that Eddie's employees did..."
Marty: "I can't speak for them."
Duke: "Can I quote you on all this?"
Marty: "Yes. I've got nothing to hide."
Duke: "How you been?"
Marty: "Thank G-d, very well. I happen to be working for a wonderful guy."
Duke: "How's Ed doing?"
Marty: "Excellent. I just left him. We had lunch together. With Rob [Spallone] of course."
Duke: "How's Rob behaving?"
Marty: "He's behaving. He's Rob. He's such a good kid. He wants to be misunderstood. He's really very nice."

Drs. Stephen Klass, Arlen Fleisher and George Shapiro have been caught on FBI tapes providing the drugs to gangster Gregory DePalma, according to law enforcement sources.
DePalma - a veteran capo in the Gambino family - and his crew took bagfuls of drugs from the doctors in 2003 and 2004, according to a longrunning FBI investigation.

I love porn. Arguably the most important company [Adult Video News] and unquestionably the de facto face of the industry has some obese ex-court-reporter [Mark Kernes] dispensing legal advice on their letterhead. Can't you get a real attorney? Entrepreneurial porn site master Messner dies
He was best known as a pornographer, but he also used his computer savvy to work on national security issues and to hijack a militant Islamic website promoting the terror organization, al-Qaida.
His ability to use the Internet to investigate and to capture the site led to an invitation to speak at the country's war college, the National Defense University. It was a highlight of his life.

How Exotica-2000 Really Worked

Before I was the man I am today, I'm proud to say I was and will always be one of "Eddie's Kids." Uncle Eddie tought us a lot about life while we accompanied him on his rounds and we were all in awe at the immense respect he commanded from the cowering proprietor he was shaking down. He taught us that there's a right way and a wrong way to burn down buildings for insurancefraud. He didn't live in the past despite his age and success. I remember he was one of the pioneers in equipping gangs of thugs with aluminum bats instead of the venerable wood. I haven't spoken with Eddie since I dared question his choice of a mid-1980's Rolls-Royce as reliable transportation.
Eddie's Kids
People in porn who know the phrase "Eddie's Kids" usually first think of all the congratulatory coverage AVN has dished out to Edward Wedelstedt for his charity "Eddie's Kids" which gives sports tickets to poor children.
There's a sinister meaning to "Eddie's Kids" that most people don't know about. This refers to Eddie's (through his people) willingness to threaten someone's children, usually their most precious possession, to get what he wants.
Let's take the case of Ron Miller and Erotica LA.
Eddie told Ron he wanted to buy his fan show Erotica LA and give it to AVN to run as a fundraiser for the Free Speech Coalition. Ron told him what he wanted in exchange for the show. Eddie made a counter-offer. Ron told him he wasn't interested.
Then Eddie's people told Ron that he had no choice. They would ruin his business. Ron said fine, go ahead. Then Eddie's people told Ron they would make sure that nobody hired his wife Brooke Hunter. Ron said fine.
Seeing that these types of threats weren't working, Eddie's people escalated. They threatened the well-being of Ron's youngest child. They said her name. They said they knew where she went to school.
That's where Ron caved.
So the show that AVN runs on behalf of the Free Speech Coalition (the two most prominent industry organizations, "the glue that holds the industry together" to quote attorney Clyde DeWitt), Erotica LA, was only obtained by Edward Wedelstedt threatening the life of Ron Miller's youngest child.
The Free Speech Coalition Los Angeles headquarters are located inside of Eddie's Goalie Entertainment. When their building closes at 4pm, the FSC gets kicked out along with everyone else.

LOS ANGELES - While previous Erotica L.A. shows primarily have been about bringing the adult industry and consumers together, this year's event (July 13-15 at the Los Angeles Convention Center) will expand that agenda considerably.
This Erotica L.A. will be the first to contribute to fighting censorship. It will be the first Erotica L.A. to be open to trade business. And it will be the first Erotica L.A. to be produced by AVN and Teddy Communications, Inc., which bought the trade show last November.
For the first of the show's firsts, half of the receipts generated from Erotica L.A. will benefit the Free Speech Coalition's Anti-Censorship Defense Committee. Bill Lyon, executive director of the Free Speech Coalition, said, "We've always been closely allied with AVN, and we appreciate everything they do for us, and we're looking forward to this situation, especially where we'll be involved in the income from one of their endeavors."
"I think the Free Speech Coalition is asked on a weekly basis to assist all across the country with various anti-censorship matters," said Robert DePiano, legal advisor to Erotica L.A. and the Anti-Censorship Defense Committee. "As much money as possible would definitely help the cause."
"Eddie [Wedelstedt, head honcho of Goalie Entertainment] felt that by bringing together the entire industry together for a one-week exposition for the retailers, the wholesalers and the general public, that considerable amounts of money could be raised for the Free Speech Coalition to continue with their work in lobbying and other legal work that needs to be done to protect the industry," said Al Bloom, president of Goalie subsidiary M&M Sales.
"In the past it's been about sex, about fun and it's been about drawing the consumer. This year more than ever before, it's about business and free speech," said Renée Johnson, Erotica L.A.'s show manager.
Darren Roberts, spokesman for TCI, said "I think that Erotica L.A. was a well-produced consumer show, and it's grown substantially every year Ron Miller (the show's previous owner and now a consultant to the show) had produced it." He added the show "reached a point where it needed a larger, more experienced production company to take it to the next level."
Miller, an attorney, said he's more than happy with AVN and TCI's involvement with the show. "When I started Erotica L.A., it was my dream that I could build it into an all-inclusive show, that would encompass wholesale and retail while always keeping the fans the preeminent factor. This is something I never would have been able to accomplish on my own, and I'm extremely grateful that AVN and Teddy Communications, Inc. has stepped in and taken such a pro-active role. They have taken Erotica L.A. to a place I never would have been able to on my own."
Retailers, 'Eddie's Kids' Score Big-Time At Goalie Get-Together

Eddie Wedelstedt, owner of Goalie Entertainment, is not known for taking a lot of pauses when he speaks, especially when the topic is the one dearest to his heart: The Eddie's Kids Foundation, which he established several years ago.
"A lot of people take shots at the adult industry - and this is coming from Eddie W., probably the oldest guy in this business besides Teddy [Rothstein] that's been around for this length of time - and I'm going to be honest with you: I don't care what I've ever needed, and I've done a lot of charity work where I've needed help for kids; not only have I never been turned down, but the people have always sent more than they were supposed to send. The adult people are the most generous people I've ever dealt with, dealing with children and with charities. They are just phenomenal. People can take their shots; there'll be people who'll read this and say bad things about us. Whatever they want to say, all I know is one thing: 15,000 children in America this year are going to see a big-time professional sporting event because of Eddie's Kids."

But Eddie always finds himself coming back to the kids... "The Eddie's Kids Foundation was set up basically to make sure that kids could get to a sporting event," Wedelstedt explained. "And let's face it: some parents can't afford it anymore. So we want to take children and get them to these sporting events. Well, this year alone, close to 15,000 children will see a game on Eddie's Kids - a combination of the [L.A.] Kings, the [Denver] Nuggets, the [Colorado] Avalanche and the Phoenix Coyotes; these are all fabulous, wonderful, professional organizations who are working with this foundation."

But even during the closing festivities, Eddie's Kids were never far from Wedelstedt's mind. "There's nothing better in this world, when you come from poor like I did, to be able to walk up in those stands, look at those kids' faces - that tells me everything there is to know.... As long as my kids are taken care of, that's all I care about. The kids come first for me. Everything else is bulls---. Take shots at me, good, but don't pick on my kids."
Some people will read this as though I am sickened by porn's version of Captain Kangaroo professed love for kids while he acts like the lowest thug when he wants something. No. I just marvel at the diversity inherent in the human condition whereby a man can give some poor kids sports tickets and then threaten the kids of competitor's at the same time. Porn Newcomer Luc Parry Surprised By Inviation To 'Cum' To His Highschool Reunion

I have no problem with anyone taking a few photos from this site so long as they link back as Luc did.
Luc writes that according to the best of his knowledge, "it's [the entry of a man into porn has] never been chronicled before." He says he's been in a discussion about doing a documentary, presumably about himself.
Luc writes that he will not let anyone turn him into a "look at me" jackass.

OK, so he's chronicling his journey into porn because nobody has done it before, and is discussing doing a documentary on his journey, yet he wonders what is the big deal about working in porn and getting fan mail?

Luc, if you want to lead a private life, don't work in porn in front of the camera. As Bill Margold says, once your privates become public, don't expect privacy. Porn is forever. It will quickly overwhelm your every quality in the eyes of most people. No matter how distinguished you are outside of porn, once you've done porn, you will primarily be known as the porn person.
There's something frighteningly compelling in the amount of self-delusion and unwillingness to take responsibility in Luc's blogging. And I am pretty jaded to pornographers' delusions.

Duke: "When you were a girl, what did you want to be when you grew up?"
Tatum, 26: "A professional ballet dancer."
Duke: "How far did you go towards that dream?"
Tatum: "I did. I was a professional ballet dancer for two years. In Cincinnatti and Columbus, Ohio and San Francisco [until age 22]."
Tatum has siblings.
Duke: "At what age did you start taking ballet classes?"
Tatum: "Four. My mother saw me doing the splits and said, take ballet. I was always very flexible. I could do gymnastics. All of that comes in handy now."
Duke: "Between 18 and 21, were you also going to college?"
Tatum: "A little bit. I got burned out trying to do both. I went to New York to do some auditions. It was frustrating. My parents wanted me to go to school and I wanted to dance. That was a struggle to do what I wanted to do rather than what they wanted to do. I ended up giving up both. That's what they get."
Duke: "Your parents wanted you to become a professional ballet dancer?"
Tatum: "It was weird. They wanted to pretend to support it. We'll take you there and we'll pay for it and we'll be sort-of supportive of it but, at the same time, we really need you to have a back-up career. We want you to go to school.
"To me it was clear you couldn't do both. It takes too much time to dance and too much time to go to school."
Duke: "You had a middle-class upbringing."
Tatum: "Very. My grandfather was the head of a major car company in Detroit. My dad was raised well. My mom was middle-class. They married [and lived] in a perfect white neighborhood. It had beautiful houses. Everything I needed."
Duke: "Was there anything that happened to you as a child that predisposed you towards the work that you now do?"
Tatum: "People ask me that and there is something that happened to me. Was that it? I know that there are girls that do it who have never been through anything.
"When I was about five, there was a boy about 14 who came over while I was playing in the backyard. He asked me to touch him. He took off my clothes and touched me. It was very scary. I couldn't tell my parents. I remember trying to tell my mom. She wasn't really listening or she would've dealt with it. I was too scared and stuttering and not explaining it well enough and she didn't really listen. I was too afraid at that age to speak up ever again.

"I wanted to shock them and show them that I could do what I want."
Duke: "How old were you when you lost your virginity?"
Tatum: "I was 14. He was the love of my life. He was 14.
"He lives in Los Angeles and is dating someone else. I know them as a couple. Later in life we decided that we really didn't like each other as much.
"He had to move away. He said, do you want to do this? I'll take you out to a really nice dinner in a French restaurant. We'll rent a limousine. Then we'll come back to my house and we'll spend the night.
"I said ok. I always wanted to be the good girl. I didn't want to be bad. I was very shy and I wanted to please my parents and everyone. I was a ballet dancer and I got really good grades.
"I only wanted to do this with someone who I loved, but I didn't want to have to do this all of the time.
"I decided to do it because he was leaving and we wouldn't have to do it again until we were old enough.
