All's Quiet On The DP Front
A-dell called me yesterday and assured me that all is well at Digital Playground and that nothing is happening and they are all one big happy family. According to her every morning at 9AM they all meet in the common area and Jewn leads them in a few rounds of "Kumbaya". Jesse usually breaks into "We are Family" which inspires RobbieD to lead em all in "Family Affair."

When I arrive on set at 9:45am, I join Melissa and a group of guys in the backyard of Dick in Woodland Hills.
Melissa says it changes the dynamics of a relationship once a director sleeps with his talent. It makes the talent less likely to do what he says. Dick says he's never slept with a porn girl. Aside from that blowjoy a few years back.

One thing that has confused me, and in some ways offended me, is the discrepancy in the pay rates offered to female talent for the different types of work offered in the adult industry.
In general the rates for girls will increase as they go from a solo to girl/girl to boy/girl to BBG to anal, etc. and this makes sense for the most part. Where it gets confusing is the increase in female pay rates to do Interracial. "Interracial" in itself is a terrible misnomer in our industry. It applies only to black males on white females, and not visa versa...not to mention that Latin or Asian ethnic groups are simply left out of the interracial equation completely.
How is it that in a seemingly saturated Interracial production pool that girls are given more to work with black guys? Saturation in any other industry should push prices and pay rates down! That's simple economics 101. As a white performer I sometimes lose work out with a girl who would rather make more money doing an IR for another company on that day. Of course that girl will go with the bigger money! But why are companies paying girls more to work with a black guy than to work with a white guy (like me)?
It seems like terrible racial bigotry in what should be a very PC society, no? Consider this -- if girls got higher rates to work with white guys, over black guys, then every black performer would be up in arms and rightly so! We would have Jesse Jackson and Johnny Cochran all up in our faces!
This pay discrepancy can be explained away with 2 terrible explanations:
1) "It's more honorable to work with black guys so we will pay you girls more"...this insults white guys like me (as it would be to black guys if it were the other way around).
2) "Black guys are tough to work with and it's going to ruin you name in porn"...that's an insult to black guys!
There is an easy solution -- equalize the pay rates and do away with the racial bigotry!

"Yeah. They gave me a lot of Vicodin. I'm a 34D. I'm 5'4" and a 110 pounds. I wear a size three pants."
How many movies have you done?

"Over 30. I have my own movie coming out with a lot of scenes in it. I do a lot of Web site stuff too."

"New girls. A new rule here. A new rule taken out. Every time a new girl comes in, I change my rules because they teach me a whole new lesson of what I did wrong."
Do you notice any difference with the new crop of girls?
"None. Have you gone down De Soto Blvd from the 118 to the 101? Have you noticed any change in the last five years?"

"Maybe Jim [South] will kick Bill Margold out, and this is not an attack on Bill, and give you an office there. You can automatically interview all the girls who come in. You can be one of [Jim's] cronies.
"Out of Rob Spallone [who ran a rival talent agency to Jim's World Modeling until March 1999] came Damien Michaels, who isn't around much anymore. Came [Mark] Spiegler who brought in LADirect [Derek aka Ben English]. These are all the properties of Rob Spallone."
Derek has built up quite an agency.
"It will rise and fall.
"The best sale I have to my talent is the same sale Jim [South] has -- no fees.
"Some of these girls have two agents -- one back in Colorado and one here. Ten percent to this one and ten percent to that one. It adds up. Why doesn't someone train these girls in the seminar that providing sex doesn't have to be only on video? It can be in exchange for accommodation and transportation. I don't mean that as prostitution. I mean that in the custom video or whatever falls in the category of legality. Compliance video is the answer to the industry. Rather than these girls having to fork out all that money, there should be a barter sex book.
"Brianna Banks is a mega-star today. When she came in the business, she did a scene for Young, Dumb and Full of Cum. It didn't hurt her.
"When I brought her into Vivid, they just passed on her. Now she's a Vivid contract girl.
"Are you doing the same thing? Or are you doing production?"

I'll be nasty when I need to. But I have to protect a few alliances I've made.
"World Modeling doesn't matter anymore. Did you see Jurassic Park? Remember how they were trying to keep everyone celibate? When these new agents and managers came into the picture, they hatched like dinosaur eggs. You know what those dinosaurs were doing throughout Jurassic Park? Eating people up.
"You know who opened up the floodgates for all these dinosaurs who came in? Me. I was the first rebel. Then Rob Spallone came through.
"World Modeling has had some talent for years. I can't see talent staying with LADirectModels for years. They're often from out-of-town and they come for short periods of time. At one time, Roy Garcia was king of the hill. Not anymore. At one time, I was trying to get to that level. I was neck-and-neck with Reb. You remember. When you were in Reb's office, it's still on l-keford.com, what did he say to the girls at the end of the interview?"
To stay away from Regan Senter.
"There isn't any difference between a talent scout who finds girls work, a manager, and an agent. I need to disagree with the new revised tape that AIM has [on this point]. It says there's a difference between an agent and a manager.
"Girls sign up with me for a three-year exclusive contract. It says on the contract in big red letters -- we do not remove pictures. We only add. There is no termination agreement. If I refer you to Vivid and you say you do not want to work with Regan anymore, there's no termination."
I doubt you could enforce a contract for having commercial sex, however, in the courts.
Regan, I was just checking to see if you had changed and fallen in love with a member of the talent pool.
"No.
"As far as Gia Paloma is concerned, she is not with Beautiful Models anymore. But as far as the paperwork is concerned, which is 100% legal, she is under exclusive contract. I still find her work and she doesn't even know it.
"Gia Paloma works for JM productions. How did she meet JM Productions? Through me. How did she meet Jim Lane and Skeeter [Kerkove]? Through me.
"It's not like you can go to World Modeling and say, pull me out of the book. When I spend three or four hours putting those pictures up, I'm not going to take them down.
"You want to know what has happened [since we spoke last]? I've made things more concrete, with more steel. I've reinforced the building. I built a deeper fallout shelter."
Is Angel Cassidy still with you?
"Angel Cassidy signed up online "exclusively." She checked the exclusive form. Read the bottom and see what it says. Read the non-exclusive contract. Read what it says about doing the demo. If she decides to do boy-girl, what happens to the non-exclusive contract? It becomes exclusive.
"The biggest difference between then and now is -- it is written. To quote Bill Margold, 'Why don't you put that in writing?'
"If they can't get into Playboy, Penthouse or Hustler, what precisely am I doing with them except trying to convince them to do boy-girl? Very common in the industry today is internal cum shots. Creampies. It's replacing anal."

Adult Fun: Hi Jamie. You're still in South Florida right?
Jamie: Yes but I am in the car driving north so hopefully the phone signal

AF: Where are you going?
J: Back to Pennsylvania. I've got a long drive ahead.
AF: And you are running ahead of hurricane Jeanne I hope.
J: I am. It is so windy out right now. Every little bit we hit strong
winds and a really heavy down pour. I have been listening to the emergency
station and they are saying it's coming earlier then they thought.
AF: How's the traffic?
J: It's pretty good. It's gotten a little bit heavier as we've gone up.
But it's not bumper to bumper. We are still going seventy miles an hour.
AF: Have you ever been in a hurricane before?
J: Never.
AF: See you should have stayed for the weekend! It would have been a new
experience.
J: I kinda wanted to stay and see it, but I figured I better get out while
I can. It would have been cool to see though.
AF: Did you dance last night?
J: Yes I had a very exhausting day and night. It was great. I had five
shows yesterday and it went really well. It was packed. I had a great
time.
AF: Were you supposed to work tonight too?
J: Yes I was. Unfortunately everything was canceled because of the curfew.
So that stinks, but you have no control over that.
AF: Well you left them wanting more. That's what you should do anyway,
right?
J: Exactly.
AF: So when you come back down they will be lined up out the door.
J: I'll be back down in December. I had such a good time down there. Everybody
was great.
AF: So you used to be a pageant girl. Are you still a pageant girl?
J: The pageants I did were last year. I haven't been in any lately just
because things have been sky rocketing so much with my touring and everything.
I do want to do some more pageants when I have time.
AF: So you went from pageants to featuring?
J: Yes. The pageants are what kicked everything off. I started entering
them and when I was at Nudes a Poppin' last year I won four titles. I
won more then anybody there and I won some of the top titles including
Miss Petite Nude North America. That's what kicked it off. I was winning
and I knew that I wanted more. I knew that I wanted to be a feature. I'm
very driven and motivated so I knew that that was the goal I wanted to
achieve.
AF: How did you go from featuring to porn star?
J: I made the right contacts. I went to Pure Talent. I went to the school
of dance that they have. They signed me exclusively off the bat. I knew
I wanted to do the adult films to make my name as large as possible and
for the exposure.
AF: When was your first scene?
J: It was I think March.
AF: Are you doing girl/girl and boy/girl?
J: Yes. I actually will be back out in LA in two weeks to shoot some more.
AF: Who did you shoot for so far?
J: New Sensations and Vivid.
AF: I looked up your name and I found two movies- Vivid's Diary of an
Orgy and New Sensations Erotica XXX #7.
J: Those are the ones so far. I am very happy with that because right
off the bat I was with the top companies. And that's the way I want to
keep it. I only want to shoot with companies such as those. I want to
keep it the best of the best.
AF: How do you like acting?
J: I love acting. It's great. I've actually done some mainstream things
as well. I love performing. I love acting. I'm very creative so I love
getting into what ever the role is that I have to do.
AF: What do you think the hottest thing about you is?
J: My eyes. I hear that all the time. I have very seductive eyes. I have
big hazel eyes, sometimes they are very green. I am told I have that come
f-ck me look.
AF: That's a good look to have.
J: With my dark hair, I have the very exotic type of look.
AF: What nationality are you?
J: Italian and Jewish.
AF: So you did a shoot for us yesterday. How did it go?
J: I had a great time with that. It was really cool because they had all
the Halloween props. They had the witch's hat, and a broom and pumpkins.

AF: When you were in high school do you think any of your classmates thought
you would end up where you are?
J: Never!
AF: What were you like in high school?
J: More reserved. I'm very educated. I was always in the gifted program.
Graduated with top honors. I was in the choir. I did a lot of creative
programs. So absolutely not. I never even thought I would do something
like this.
AF: What are your plans for the future?
J: I want to be a huge name star. I am definitely on my way. I want to
do a great deal more movies and be on the feature circuit for as long
as I can. Have fans all over the place. I definitely want to be a contract
girl. That's my immediate goal. I want to be a contract girl for one of
the top companies. Vivid or Wicked would be the top two that I would definitely
want.

Agents vs Managers
I remember from my mainstream acting days that agents were not allowed to take any money from their talent (beyond the ten percent fee) but managers could (typically charged 15 percent.
These rules don't apply to porn. An agent like Jim South or Pretty Girls takes no money from the talent but charges producers $90 per scene for using a member of his talent pool.
Agents like LADirectModels.com and NastyModeling.com may take money from talent if they are housing them and driving them around and going beyond the agent's normal call of duty. Ten to twenty percent fees from the talent is not unusual.
Kami Andrews writes: "la direct gets $100 from the producer and 10% from the girl no matter what. if the girl doesnt have a car it's 15% (which is cheaper than a cab) and if she stays in a direct housing it's $700 a month."

My friend Matt is a porn journalist. In July, he went on a porn set and interviewed this porn girl Jade * (not her real name, none of these names are real).

An Interview with Tera Patrick and Evan Seinfeld

Everyone agrees that Tera Patrick is a breathtakingly beautiful girl, but she's also intelligent, articulate, opinionated and in love! After a two-year absence from the adult industry, Tera reappeared on the scene with a husband, her own company and a Vivid contract! That husband being Biohazard rock-star slash Oz TV-star Evan Seinfeld. Tera was back in the X business bigger and better then ever before. And Evan? Well Evan put his mainstream career on hold to help with Tera's. With Evan's new porn moniker, Spyder Jonze, he made his first X-rated movie appearance in Tera's come back film, Vivid's Tera, Tera, Tera. After several months of persistence (although Evan may call it being a pain in the ass and /or bugging the sh-t out of him) I finally got both Evan and Tera to do an interview with me. It was well worth the wait!
Xcitement: How did you meet Tera? And what made you decide that you wanted
to marry her?
E: Tera and I were set up by a photographer named Anneli who shoots rock
bands. And she had shot Tera for Club and Hustler. We were both very good
friends with this woman. And she kinda just fixed us up. And it was weird
because we were both getting out of other relationships and I was doing
my album and filming Oz, and she was doing her Playboy Show and working
on her website and we could not get together. So we were forced to just
talk on the phone for about three and a half months. We really got to
know each other and fall in love. She got so in my head. By the time we
got together, she knew everything that turned me on. It was just amazing.
I was so skeptical about meeting her and she was so skeptical about meeting
me, because everybody put such bad things into each of our heads about
what the other one might be like.
People said to her, don't go out with him he's such a pig. And then my friends would say she's a porn chick and porn chicks are liars. She's gonna do porn behind your back. You can't trust her. And you know what? We have the best trust and the best relationship. The day we finally met we stayed in her apartment for four days. We didn't come out once. I wanted to ask her to marry me then but I felt like she would think I was nuts for wanting to ask her to marry me on the spot. I really do believe that you just know. We were together for not even two months and I took her down to Miami and I had the ring Fed Ex'ed. It showed up when we were in bed fooling around and there was a knock on the door. It was the guy with the engagement ring.
From there we got married during the Vegas show at the Little White Wedding Chapel with a huge cast of, it was a really meow mix of people, ya know. There were bikers and porn stars and all kinds of people who flew in from all over the world at our wedding. It was totally off the top of our heads. Now we run Teravision together. She has her own company. I'm doing photography. I'm filming. I'm directing. I'm doing Tera's website for her. I'm doing movies. We do everything as a team.
X: Evan, you are so romantic. To look at you, you look like a biker guy, but you are so..
E: I am a biker guy. But I am romantic with Tera. It's funny because I may be a romantic at heart person, but I wasn't always very romantic. She brings out qualities in me I didn't know I had. I think that is when you know that someone is really good for you.
X: Ah. You are so sweet! E: (laughs) I'm a nice guy.
X: Is there a new Biohazard CD coming out?
E: There is. We just finished recording. The guys are mixing it back in New York. The tentative working title is Killing to be Free. Is this the last album? Is this the next to last album? I don't know. I'm so busy with Tera. She's on a world tour right now. Going to Australia, Europe, all over America. I'm so busy with this that Biohazard has had to take a back seat. We are all into different projects now. I have a new project called Triple Sicks. I 'm looking to start a new rock group, something more classic and timeless. With Biohazard I think I got all my frustrations out and I'm not so angry anymore. I'm married to Tera how mad could I be?
X: I interviewed Mercedez the other day and she said that you were her
favorite Vivid girl because you are real, not phony.
T: I haven't seen her in so long. She moved back to Texas. She's great.
She's beautiful too.
X: How do you like being a Vivid girl?
T: I love it. I like to say that I am among really good company. The girls are great. I just finished shooting a movie with Briana. We had amazing chemistry. Every Vivid girl I work with, the next one is better and better. Not that one is better then the other. I'm having so much fun. I've worked with everybody except Sunrise. The girls are wonderful. They're not stuck up. They don't have attitudes. Everybody is really happy and it shows. We all get along really well. For my website ClubTera.com I shot with Tawny recently. So she is featured on there right now. She's awesome.
X: You and Sunrise are both going to be in a video game called Backyard Wrestling.
T: Right I did the voice for that.
X: Does the character look like you?
T: Oh yeah. It's me. It's a computer-generated image. I'm a character. You actually play me. You can choose to play Tera Patrick. I wrestle with who ever you pick for me to wrestle against. I don't know what part Sunrise played because we did it separately. I think it's coming out really soon. Oh Evan said that she is a character too, so maybe we will fight each other!
X: Well Evan seems like he's a pretty fun guy to have around.
T: He is so good to me. I was so lucky to have found someone that is so accepting of my past and what I do. Here is a guy that came into my life when I was done; I'm retired from porn. He was like, "You've become really popular is such a short amount of time. You're famous now and you are always going to be Tera Patrick and you'd be silly not to capitalize on who you are. Go out there and make more movies for your fans. I'll do it with you." That is the most selfless thing that anybody could do. He came from mainstream and decided that if he was going to be with me, he was going to be with me all the way!
X: Well you had big beautiful breasts before, and now you have bigger beautiful breasts. Why did you decide to do it?
T: I lost like ten pounds and my boobs just went away. I like being thinner and in shape but I had no boobs anymore. So I decided I wanted my big boobs back, so I am a DD now.
X: You look fabulous, and truthfully, they don't look fake.

re: termination of employment at Hustler.We are very disappointed in the comments made by Hustler's Editorial Director, Bruce David, concerning Mark Cromer's departure from Hustler. Our goal is to set the record straight and resolve our differences with Mark's employer, LFP Inc.
Mark was working on a book when he was entreatied by Bruce David to return to Southern California to become Features Editor for Hustler in July of 2004. On November 1, Hustler sources reported that Mark was fired as a result of misconduct. Hustler now claims that Mark resigned.
Neither of these claims is true. Mark was the victim of false and malicious rumors while he was at Hustler. Ironically, Mark's boss, Bruce David, was the person responsible for spreading this gossip in the first place, in violation of Company policy.
Mark was threatened, personally and professionally, and was then retaliated against after he reported the problem to Human Resources. This kind of corporate behavior violates California law, violates the rights of Mark as an employee, and Hustler is responsible for the conduct of management and its employees. We intend to discuss Mark's departure with his employer in the hope of resolving this matter amicably.

Kenny Carolina (production manager) and Ron Sullivan (director/cameraman) arrived on set at 9:30 am. The first scene was scheduled for 10am. I get there at 10:20. There's no talent.
Rob calls Lisa Marie and leaves a message. But he doesn't hang up the phone right. On her answer machine, Lisa got to hear a member of Rob's crew trashing her. This guy says she doesn't show up half the time and they shouldn't book her. Ron Sullivan defends her. Upon hearing this, Lisa feels like turning around and heading home. But she shows up to the set anyway and doesn't mention to the crew that she heard them trash talk her.
"I'm not in this business to make friends," is Lisa's attitude. She believes that if you are going to talk trash about someone, you should hang up the phone right.
Lisa and her ex-boyfriend Tommy X were drug addicts. They were leaving in their car. They had a bad car accident. They were desperate. Lisa and Tommy leafed through the LA Weekly for models wanted. She saw one for World Modeling. Next day (10/20/02) she was doing her first porno. "Ohmigod, look at this check I got."
Tommy was Lisa's second lover but first love. They broke up in January 2004 around the time of Lisa's birthday.
Rob is happy that Sopornos 8 got four stars from AVN and praise for his performance.
Last night, Rob told his anger management class that he can picture his ex-wife sucking cock and it doesn't bother him.
"I've got four [classes] to go, baby," he says to me. "Then I go to the judge.
"Last night, I said to the teacher, I'm not going to be here next week. I've got a meeting. He said, I could send this into the judge. You are only allowed to miss three and you've already missed nine.
