Adult entertainment e-tail site GameLink.com is pledging a $15,000 donation to the campaign of Virginia Congressional Candidate Mike Webb (Republican) if he publicly denounces the digital piracy of pornographic movies. Yesterday Webb made national headlines as he shared a screenshot of his computer’s desktop on his Facebook page, which included open tabs leading to porn scenes on adult tube sites.
“We value the same principles of accountability and honesty which Mike Webb is running his platform on, and we would love to contribute to a campaign which actually backs these ideals up,” said Jeff Dillon, vice president of business development for eLine management company, whose clients include GameLink.com.
Free porn tube sites, or “tube sites” as they are more commonly known, often feature pirated movies from adult entertainment studios, costing the adult industry millions of dollars each year. The captioned videos on Webb’s screenshot are available on tube sites like RedTube, PornHub, and XHamster.
Webb often takes screenshots in an attempt to show how he is spending his time researching issues affecting his constituents. The screenshots are his way of showing accountability and honesty of how he is spending his time.
“We are glad to hear Mike Webb watches pornography, like most average Americans, but we hope he does it ethically and ceases to watch pirated content,” added Dillon. “With the increased media attention on Mike Webb, now is a great opportunity for him to use his platform to denounce porn piracy without distancing himself from the fact he enjoys adult movies.”
In addition to offering a donation to Webb’s campaign, GameLink is hoping to help Webb simplify the number of tabs he has open by offering him a free account to GameLink.com. “GameLink.com is the source of all the best adult movies and scenes online from all the best studios.
