YNOT – Miami-based RK Netmedia, parent company of adult content producer Reality Kings and affiliate program Nasty Dollars, has acquired porn tube site Slutload.com, according to a notification emailed to Slutload advertisers last week. Details about the transaction were not revealed.
The email noted RK plans to take possession of the site Aug. 31, at which time advertisers and end-users will notice a few changes.
“This acquisition to [sic] RK’s already dominant portfolio will certainly increase the power that Slutload already processes,” the email stated. “Your advertising dollars will be as hard at work as they’ve ever been, as some exciting changes and enhancements are in the plans, and some already in the works.”
Neither Slutload nor RK Netmedia are strangers to the difficulties encountered by tube, "reality porn" and "amateur" site operators. In April, Slutload’s parent company reached an out-of-court settlement with Ventura Content, parent company of Pink Visual Productions, after VC sued AFIC Inc. alleging copyright infringement. Although most of the settlement’s terms were confidential, AFIC agreed to employ the digital fingerprinting technology promoted by the Free Speech Coalition’s Anti-Piracy Action Plan in order to prevent future content misappropriation.
Last December, RK Netmedia settled a lawsuit filed by 26 recording companies that had sued claiming RealityKings.com “deliberate[ly] and brazen[ly] exploit[ed] … sound recordings and musical compositions in hundreds of extreme hardcore pornographic videos, without any consent or authorization.” Financial terms of the agreements were not disclosed. In turn, RK Netmedia sued its liability insurers, claiming the companies failed to provide any assistance with RK’s defense in the case.
In March 2010, Florida A&M University sued RK Netmedia alleging the company’s DareDorm.com website besmirched the school’s reputation when it produced and distributed a video implying sexual orgies occur inside the school’s dormitories. The parties settled the suit out of court less than one month later, with FAMU conceding the video did not defame its students or its campus and RK Netmedia agreeing to pay $105,000 to fund Life-Gets-Better scholarships for two FAMU undergraduates and foot the $15,000 bill for the university’s legal fees.
Neither RK Netmedia nor AFIC Inc. responded to requests for comment about the Slutload acquisition.
NL- You can see the RK main site here. http://www.rktopgirls.com Slut Load is has not changed hands yet.
I’m sure that the servers at Slutload will be overloading with people downloading as much pilfered porn as possible before the August 31 deadline.
Does that mean that Manwin/Brazzers is going to buy out XVIDEOS next???
