NL-I am a big Carla Gugino fan. This girl is HOT and sexy and I loved her as back when she was a B movie star (Jaded, Motorcycle Gang, LoveLife, Judas Kiss, Center of the World, She Creature ) Although now she has moved up to the "A"category with Watchmen, SnakeEyes and others, I still think she’s a goddess. She has no problem taking off her clothes and doing "love scenes." I do like her better with dark hair tho.

Recently retired from the adult film industry, superstar Elektra Luxx (Carla Gugino) is pregnant with the child of late rock star Nick Chapel. She is trying to make ends meet by teaching a community college sex education class aimed at housewives when a figure from her past, flight attendant Cora (Marley Shelton), approaches her with a proposition. In exchange for the (stolen) lyrics to Nick Chapel’s last record, all of which is about Elektra, Cora needs Elektra to seduce her fiancée. Elektra reluctantly agrees to do this favor, setting in motion a series of hilarious events which will see her come face to face with detectives, sex bloggers, emotionally unstable neighbors and the Virgin Mary herself as she wrestles with the prospect of motherhood and tries to become a person of substance.

Timothy Olyphant looks and acts like Billy Bob Thorton’s younger brother. He hasnt been good in anything other than Deadwood and Justified, its not him, its that he isnt made to play anyone else. He stunk as the bad guy in the last Die Hard movie, which sucked anyway. As for Carla, she’s made some bad choices and has been miscast too like that movie she made with DeNiro and Pacino. The love scene, if you can call it that is hilarious, fossil DeNiro trying to pound Carla hard, looks wrong.

This chick didn’t move up to A list. She MIGHT barely be B list but ya, being in a few movies don’t all of the sudden make you an A list actor.
Angelina Jolie is an A list actress.
Julia Roberts is an A list actress.
If you are in B rated movies that doesn’t even give you B list credit. I mean to be honest this girl is probably more like C list, even with her B movie credits.
I also don’t like how everyone assumes they are a porn “star” just because they were in a couple movies. When you are selling movies like Jenna Haze or Jesse Jane does, THEN you can say you are a star but until then starlet or aspiring star is more appropriate.
I don’t know why this subjects annoys me so much but it just always has. LOL

A List actresses sell movies based solely on their names…Angelina is A List, B list is who you call if Angelina is booked…C List is when yer looking for someone and you have a very limited budget so you cast relative unknowns, penthouse pets, playmates, porn chicks, that sorta thing (but only in a lead or supporting role, in any other role they are just bit players.)
She may not be A list but she is C Cups. She can act, she was about the strongest female character on Entourage, I never got that show, maybe its because none of the cast can act, Piven isnt acting, he’s just being the asshole he really is.
Sure she can act, but so can the thousands of working actresses in Hollywood, faces that sometimes might look vaguely familiar but not by name.
I think she is very hot and a good actress, but again, that doesn’t make her a-list or even B-list.
If we’re talking about how much money someone commands per project then she’s definitely not an A lister.
Aside from that, it’s possible for A list actresses to work in B movies and vice versa. And someone’s A might be another’s B or even C or D. It’s sort of like gay guys judging a Miss America pageant. If you’re really into double DDs, for example that could make a girl an A lister in your book.
Or like a dude once said in an interview I was involved in years back, “If she’s into me, she beautiful!”.. unfortunately that’s from a project you’ll probably never see.
I could give two shits about mainstream actors and actresses. Most do nothing for me. I find male and female porn performers far more daring and interesting.

Maybe not A list, but she’s been a working actress for 20+ years and 99% of actors in LA would kill to have her career. There isn’t thousands of working actresses and only a handful work as much as she does.
“A handful” isn’t true. There are thousands of working actors in Hollywood, with nice long resumes but no one knows their names. They are neither A-list nor B-list but they work steadily doing everything from commercials to industrials to bit parts in TV and movies.
Although I agree that most actors would kill to have her career, there is a difference between being an actor and being a WORKING actor. Any idiot can call himself an actor, but a WORKING actor is someone who can actually pay their bills from it.
Carla is a working actress, no more no less.
I saw some of the movie last night, didnt think much of it. It looked badly shot or badly edited. The director is Carla’s boyfriend.
