Frank wrote me this while he was writing his book- "I was so close to becoming a television comedy writer that I could taste it, and it tasted good, like cake. Only they wanted me to do most of the baking. I just wanted to eat the fucking cake. So I did what any self-lack-of-respecting person would do, I became a fry cook, er, porn agent. From a meeting at Creative Artists Agency to a drunken night at Porn Star Karaoke, it only took me five shots, 8 beers, two porn stars and an empty bank account to change career paths. At the time it seemed like a great decision. Instead of the possibility of one day winning an Emmy, I was guaranteed to get gonorrhea. I’ll take a guarantee over a possibility any day of the week."
But his intro doesn’t begin to describe what happens to him as he falls into the depths of pimpdom in his new book, Pimpin’ Ain’t Easy. The book grabs you from the start as Frank’s first protege Haily brings him to her shoot. He attends and describes in disgusting detail, his first bukkake.
Frank certainly doesn’t worry about making himself or others look bad. He names names and makes no apologies for his terrible behavior or egomaniacal attitude towards the "ho’s" that do his bidding and earn him his living.
"All of my other girls had already established a severe hatred for Sasha (Knox) . I didn’t blame them, considering that every time she entered a room she looked at the group like a bunch of cockroaches scurrying across the floor… I’d never before met anyone so insanely self absorbed with her sense of entitlement. Perhaps that’s why I liked her. She reminded me of me."
He wants the girls total commitment; body, mind, soul and bank account. Sometimes they call him their agent, and sometimes their boyfriend, but at times he treats them like dirty disposable diapers. When he was "dating" Sasha Knox and Ginger Lee at the same time he had no problem changing one for the other.
"On Night I took Sasha to dinner and explained that our little Southern Belle (Ginger Lee) was coming back… "Ginger is on all sorts of medication for her psychiatric problems. It only makes sense that she sleep in my room in case something happens.’
Frank also doesn’t mind throwing numerous people in the industry under the bus, especially other agents!
" Some smaller agents do more business in privates than they do in shoots. That’s because they are lazy and don’t even want to make the effort to book girls for movies. They sign up the most desperate ones and start pimping them out immediately"
Much of porn’s allure to fans, and the fantasy of porn stars and the adult industry is dispelled by Franks brutal opinions on the true nature of the biz.
(A porn star) "She’s pretty much a trollop and you can have her now for a few thousand of your hard earned dollars. If you are willing to wait you can even get her at a considerable discount. …(that’s how) your favorite porn starlet drives a Lexus even though she hasn’t been in a movie for three years. "
Frank emailed me to see if I had read his book-
Me-"On the last chapter. Bet no one in porn who read it ever talks to you again. It’s really good writing, and funny as hell…"
Frank-"Awesome! Glad you’re enjoying it. I care about people in porn talking to me like Mel Gibson’s cares about minorities."
Pimpin’ Ain’t Easy did make me laugh, make me cringe and make me grateful ( that all these people Frank dissed wouldn’t be coming after me!) Definitely worth the read. 9 out of 10 Review by Cindi Loftus
