Seriously, maybe someone can enlighten me as to the quantifiable difference between the categories “Studio of the Year” and “Porn Studio of the Year”. The former was won by Jules Jordan Video and the latter by Wicked Pictures. Last I checked, Jules Jordan makes PORN — so why the overlap? Are they also making $100M action films and I just didn’t hear about it?
Here’s another one — two different ‘Director of the Year’ awards? With one for the ‘body of work’ and the other for an individual title? Again, this is useless overlap. If you want to give a special award for ‘lifetime achievement’ as a director fine (and it should ideally be for someone whose been directing for some length of time, say ten+ years, and along the way gotten tons of critical acclaim across the spectrum).
For example, Paul Thomas/Andrew Blake/Ernest Greene have been around a HELL of a lot LONGER than Jay Sin, Joanna Angel, or Van Styles…yet they are somehow excluded from the ‘body of work’ best director category. That’s a bunch of bullshit right there…
Didn’t you hear that Jules sleeps there? Making it his studio as in studio apartment. Where Wicked just makes porn in theirs and then they all leave making it a porn studio.
I think it is just like the AVN Awards with 2 director awards however XBiz actually had 3 different directing awards this year by adding a People’s Choice category.
Like AVN, XBiz had what amounts to a best director award for a single movie (Director of the Year- Individual Project), then they had a Director of the Year Award (body of work) which is for the overall past year’s resume of all movies the director created. I won this very award this year at AVN, CAVR, XCritic yet just lost at Xbiz the other night.
Then XBiz had the People’s Choice which I did win this year for Porn Director of the Year. This might be where the complaints come in for redundancy and I can see that for sure but I’m not complaining.
To me any type of lifetime achievement award is TOTALLY different from the yearly awards. This year in XBiz officials’ minds, Axel Braun had a better body of work than Will Ryder this past year so they gave him the Director of the Year- Body of Work trophy. Axel is an excellent director and I think I could make a great case that he should have finished in 2nd place but that is the beauty of any awards show. You win some and you lose some and often it comes down to a single vote. I congratulate Axel as he has made some wonderful porn parody movies this past year and I certainly am happy that he has jumped on the bandwagon and copied our success lol.

I am certainly happy that Axel has jumped onto the porn parody bandwagon that X-Play started but I am very happy that the 2010 XBiz Award for Best Parody went to Not the Bradys XXX Marcia Marcia Marcia. How fitting it was to see the movie series that started this entire parody movement get rewarded with a beautiful trophy from Xbiz. As the porn director Will Ryder, I am very proud of every award we won this year (CAVR, XBiz, AVN,NightMoves, Xcritic,) and the two awards we won at XBiz the other night and I promise to remove the WTF look from my face when I see Axel Braun holding his Director of the Year (body of work) trophy. Truth is that with all the awards Will has been collecting lately, he simply does not have any space left in his mansion. Seriously, you can barely walk around…there’s friggin’ awards everywhere! Couple dozen in the fridge, a bunch of them in the sauna, he even uses some as pins in his private bowling alley…I heard one night this hot girl found an XBiz award under a pillow on his bed and started masturbating with it, mistaking it for a toy. Will immediately saw the opportunity to jumpstart a new trend and videotaped the scene, which he will include in his next porn mega-blockbuster titled “NOT a glass dildo XXX”. Sources say Ryder actually begged the guys at XBiz to NOT give him another award, or he would have been forced to call a structural engineer and add a couple thousand square feet to his estate just to store all those damn trophies. The only reason they gave it to me is that luckily our names have the same number of letters, so it was just easier for them to cross his name out and quickly replace it with mine…otherwise they would have picked somebody with a much more extensive body of work, since last year I only directed 38 movies for 6 different companies 😉
All jokes aside, I believe we all owe a debt of gratitude to Will Ryder, whom I personally admire and respect. Much like John Stagliano did by inventing gonzo in the 90’s, Will has accomplished something extraordinary by starting the parody genre: he revolutionized the Adult Industry.
Ladies and gentlemen, that’s why he’s Axel Braun! Not only is he good-looking with a sexy accent that chicks die for but he is a fine ballroom dancer as well lol. What can I say? I will be gone for much of the year working in Italy trying to develop an accent and then I will return to direct again and hopefully beat him next year by directing 39 movies for 7 companies.
I can truthfully tell all of you that still purchase porn that it is great to have some amazing competition from guys like Axel, Lee Roy Meyers, Sam Haim and one or two others because there is so much parody shit being tossed out to stores by many other companies it will be hard to determine which is a good movie by looking at the box cover and which movie sucks. There are many things that we do to protect ourselves in legal areas and yes that is one of them. However the first reason is that the title sounded good to me. Not….XXX insert the title in between the Not and the XXX and you now have a franchise brand that is easily recognizable as our own.

The Pentagon has dozens of serveillance cameras surrounding the building. Go figure, right? None of them except for one has been released and it shows no plane crashing into it. Not that it matters. A friend of mine from High School who signed my yearbook also died that day. He worked at one of the towers. Pretty much everyone I know who lives in NY, Long Island, the Jersey Shore knew someone or at least knew someone who knew someone who died that day. A few of us have taken the time to do the research and realize it was a scam to allow this bankrupt and corrupt nation to wage war so to usurp foreign land and wealth.
