Monstar calls Ryan Rayzor a “Bitch boy”! Fighting bout Angelina Armani

For disclosure purposes I’ll say that I am friendly with both of these guys. But Monstar & I have been friends for a long time. And I just LOVE when a man stands up for his Woman! Fingers on keyboard are flying between PR Genius Monstar (http://contactpornstars.blogs.com/) and LukeFord’s Ryan Rayzor (http://lukeford.com/). Ryan took objection to Angelina Armani ( Monstar’s girl) being on the list of AVN noms for Best New Starlet, saying she had been in the biz too long to win that title. Monstar pointed out that Angelina had been in less time then many of the other noms, and looks like Ryan is picking on Angelina to get to him. Here are some quotes from both sides-

Ryan Writes-I’m annoyed.  I hate when people set rules then don’t bother to follow them and today that includes Angelina Armani and her people.  I think they should yank her nomination and bitch slap her suitcase pimp / boyfriend for fraudulently submitting her nomination in the first place.  You know he is the one who submitted her pre-nom and you know he did so knowing she didn’t qualify.

Ryan Writes-I just read  about my Angelina Armani story, where Monstar tries to justify his unethical behavior of submitting his girlfriend for an AVN award she didn’t qualify for by saying other people did it too.

So now we are in junior high and do bad things because other people have done it too?
Well just to be clear here, just because one person puts their head in an oven, does that mean you should do it too?  Did your mamma never tell you that?
Two wrongs don’t make a right.

Ryan Writes- Update – These people Monstar has lsited on his site as having not qualified as well because their movies came out DURING the eligibility perod of October 1, 2008 to September 30, 2009. So I’m not really sure what his point is about these people. I guess maybe he was trying to point out that out of all people nominated, only some people actually met the qualifications.  Here are the ones from his list that well had movies that came out during the eligibility period.

London Keyes – Boobaholics Anonymous 4 Released: 10/13/2008
Kagney Linn Karter – She’s Got Big Boobs! Released: 1/7/2009
Kiara Diane – Jack’s POV 13 Released: 2/10/2009
Janie Summers** – Mother-Daughter Exchange Club Part 5 Released: 3/9/2009
I don’t really get how proving my point owns me but ummm okay. Still doesn’t make your woman qualify. Now does it?

Ryan writes- I was at the AVN Awards website today after seeing a tweet that said that for a movie to qualify for an AVN 2010 nomination it must be in retail stores by September 30, 2009.  It make sense then that similar deadlines for all categories.  So basically the time period would be from October 1, 2008 to September 30, 2009.  Anything that takes place between those dates qualifies for the eligibility period for the category in question.  Anything before or after doesn’t count.

Angelina Armani entered the adult business in late 2007.  She didn’t really do much but according to a biography her own PR people wrote shows she first came into the business in late 2007 and became more active by mid-2008 and signed on to be a Digital Playground contract girl in October of 2008 – the beginning of the eligibility for the AVN 2010 qualification for best NEW starlet.

Monstar writes- "Ryan Rayzor, blogger for a Mallcom owned website, has suggested that I be bitch slapped. While this type of behavior may fly within the walls of Mallcom, I do not believe that it should be encouraged elsewhere or online. And while a “bitch slap” maybe something devastating in Rayzor’s world, I submit that to most men it would be but an annoyance. But then again, maybe he is used to being a bitch and that’s his move."

Monstar writes-Courtesy of the fine people over at AdultDVDEmpire.com we’ll go by the earliest release date by the nominee:
Brynn Tyler – Cable Guy Sex Vol. 1 Released: 2/14/2008
Aryana Starr – 1st Time Black Amateurs 3 Released: 3/14/200
Natalia Rossi – Schoolgirl P.O.V. #6 Released: 3/30/2009
Angelina Armani* – Manaconda #3 Released: 4/1/2008
Asa Akira – Top Notch Bitches 7 Released: 4/14/2008
Nicole Ray – Jailbait #5 Released: 7/2/2008
Emy Reyes – Toe Service #2 Released: 8/5/2008
Riley Steele – Naked Aces 5 Released: 8/12/2008
Britney Amber – Fresh Outta High School 11 Released: 8/15/2008
Sadie West – Fresh Outta High School 12 Released: 9/12/2008
Tanner Mayes – My Personal Panties Released: 9/22/2008
London Keyes – Boobaholics Anonymous 4 Released: 10/13/2008
Kagney Linn Karter  – She’s Got Big Boobs! Released: 1/7/2009
Kiara Diane  – Jack’s POV 13 Released: 2/10/2009
Janie Summers** – Mother-Daughter Exchange Club Part 5 Released: 3/9/2009

Monstar writes-So Ryan instead of just admitting he was wrong climbs upon his soap box to talk of ethics and name calling. My, what a stand up guy you are Ryan!  Why, you did not EVEN address these simple things.  Why are you singling out me and Armani? You don’t say shit about the other girls who were nominated, or who nominated them. WHY IS THAT?

Monstar writes-So hide behind your keyboard and go do a fucking price check you Mallcom flunky."

  1. CAVR uses the exact same eligible dates as AVN.

CAVR uses the review date as the debut date. The comments above uses the Release date as debut date.

7 of the 15 Nominees are NOT newbies in CAVR system.
1 of the Nominees has been in the business 3 years.
1 of the Nominees was co-winner of Rog’s Newbie award last year!
1 of the Nominees has changed her name and has not released anyting under that name.

Many of AVN Starlet (newbie) of Year winners over the years were NOT really eligible.

Every year this drummed up controversy comes up and every year it is answered yet some folks just don’t get it (sorry Den, but this includes you). I have no beef with Ryan, get along pretty well with Alex, and like Angelina very much in person. That said, it has routinely and repeatedly been pointed out that the starlet award category is NOT limited to the same criteria as Best Movie, et al; it is considered to be when the bulk of a performer’s scenes are released to the public.

This allows for a gal to be in a couple of obscure flicks, fade away, and come back a year later to really get a real porn career going. Granted, some of the voters I’ve talked to in the past vote only for those that came out during the 10/1 to 9/30 of the voting year but that is not mandatory. It was explained to me years ago and was instituted as a means to allow some top notch talent to be considered “as a whole” rather than some silly little mandate used to cock-block otherwise fine talent.

And Den, while your porn summaries are very helpful and recognized (sadly, not by everyone according to your recent correspondence-shame on them), there will always be a chance that you happen to “miss” seeing a newcomer in a title you haven’t seen. Just as Empire’s release dates are not always the actual release date for a movie, why should others feel compelled to apply your rules to their voting system (or Roger’s, or Xcritic’s, X-Biz, etc)? Going by your comments, you could pick up a copy of Deep Throat (the original) and review it today for the first time, making that the eligible date for inclusion (since you go by “review date” rather than release date).

So, if it annoys Ryan when rules are broken, shouldn’t it annoy the rest of the world when rules are ignored as part of a personal attack? Alex doesn’t control AVN, Angelina Armani: The Big Hit came out on 1/13/2009, and yes, most /all of those newbies are/were eligible under the long existing rules.

Perhaps the industry as a whole could come up with firm rules to address things such as Den’s issues. Otherwise, controversies over all of the “silly little mandates” that apparently exist around the AVNs will persist and grow.

It really makes little sense that a chick can do a few scenes, leave, come back with a new hair cut/dye job/name and somehow her snatch is now attached to a completely different person worthy of being labeled as ‘new’.

But then, it’s rather pointless to argue for or against an awards group who practically bend over backwards to give everyone and anyone within their industry (porn) public recognition regardless of actual merit. Heck, Den’s analysis shows the flaws of their logic — as if the AVNs limited a category such as ‘Best New Starlet’ to a mere five people ACTUALLY WORTHY, then they most likely wouldn’t run into problems such as nominating winners of the same award (from another organization), a girl past her sell-by date, idiots who quit when their personal drama got too much for them (but couldn’t give up spending sprees at the mall, so they came back), and/or any number of reasons female talent come and go in Porn Valley.

put that whore in the starlet category, she needs to make more money to feed alexandra monster fat sloppy body

  5. Houstondon says:

Sammy, when it comes to controversies in the porn world, the only thing that apparently matters is when someone feels slighted in some way. The main fact is that neither Den nor Ryan set AVN policy and never bothered to ask anyone on something they knew nothing about. I’ve personally gone over this with Den in the past so he can’t claim ignorance regarding AVN’s practice, this is just his way of boosting public awareness of his awards (at least one agency rebuffing his attempts to get in direct contact with a female performer this year when they didn’t know who the heck he was).

As it is, his analysis is flawed starting out the gate with his assumption that AVN uses the same exact criteria as he does in all categories (it doesn’t), that they use review date as a starting point as he does (they do not), or that AVN needs his approval to set eligibility. Given that this yearly “controversy” is typically brought up by people either advocating “their” choices (be they wanting to limit the field to assist a particular candidate or simply suggesting their own moral superiority for following stricter guidelines), one would think these same people would just accept that they aren’t getting it.

In terms of awards though, for all those people that suggest they don’t mean anything or they are commodities to be bought & sold freely via advertising dollars, feel free to follow through on your beliefs. To suggest they don’t mean anything to anyone is ludicrous given the backstabbing, day-after whining, and other means people use to express their feelings when they feel slighted (even if just an ego trip). They arguably might not mean bigger sales, company presence, or any of a dozen other excuses to try and win an award but every year the same companies go all out to promote certain titles via awards, almost every performer dresses to the hilt to hit that stage, and then we get to see the sour grapes from those that didn’t win (ie: if it didn’t matter, why fuss about it?).

  6. sammyglick says:

Well, even I wouldn’t argue that awards are ‘meaningless’. Having worked in the mainstream for over a decade, and seen just how serious people get over the silliest awards (again, much of the thinking being that to win one, will increase your career greatly and faster than simply doing ‘the work’) exposes the truth behind the crux of your argument as I take it (people who grip about awards, are probably the ones not getting very many of them).

Yet on the same token, Porn Valley should recognize that they too have their Harvey Weinsteins (independent film producer accused of ‘buying’ Oscars for shit movies) and go a step further than their mainstream counterparts…and admit when you go to absurd lengths to hand out tickets to the playoffs (aka nominations) and/or create multiple award shows (as mainstream loves to throw a televised party under the ‘excuse’ of awarding excellence: SAG Awards, Daytime Emmys, Soul Train Awards, BET Awards, Saturn Awards, Independent Spirit Awards, et cetera yadda yadda yadda) then the overall value of ANY award is lessoned.

Again, does the AVNs really need to nominate fifteen people in some of their categories? Does the AVNs really need to seemingly bestow multiple awards on titles that simply spent the most amount of money promoting themselves for the AVNs? If people felt there was a chance for a title that didn’t spend thousands of dollars promoting itself to get top nominations, I bet the process wouldn’t always come under so much scrutiny (let alone charges of favoritism and outright bribery).

  7. Houstondon says:

The accusations will always be present, perhaps even more if they decide to go ahead and greatly limit how many nominations (say to “5”). As I participate in several award shows, I’ve seen both sides of the event and to me, the two types of people most infamous for playing it both ways are:
    1) the ones that already get the most awards and
    2) their fans who, on a win will say the awards make a lot of sense but on a loss will rant just how meaningless they are.
The first group nominate themselves (directly or via their agent/friends) for tons of awards. They squawk the loudest when they don’t win yet when asked if they saw the other performances tend to fuss back that they don’t need to since they “know” they were best.
The second group is the most common now that the internet is so common. “Woe is me. It’s the end of life as we all know it. XXX wasn’t even nominated for her triple anal in YYY. How blind are the judges? They suck. What lifeless blood suckers they are.” and on and on…

As you point out, by giving so many nominations (and awards) and with so many award groups out there to begin with, it does water down their value, whatever value may have existed. Still, no matter what some say, if there are any awards that really stand out in terms of what those groups care about, it would be the AVN’s (and perhaps Hot d’Or or XRCO).

As far as advertising buying awards, Eli Cross could best answer that one (he’s been a giver and receiver of awards) but if you look at the most candidates in any given year for “Best Movie”, most of the big companies have some big budget blockbuster on the list. The type already advertised and hyped to the maximum, and guess what: only one of them win (not the one where the most money was spent in advertising most of the time).

In terms of best starlet, the original article fussing about that category, if the twelve month period where they made the majority of their work fell into the general voting period, they were eligible. And if anyone cares, the original reason for the awards in the first place was to give the industry a focal point to party to, give itself a pat on the back, and serve the industry itself rather than all these outsiders that complain so loudly. Porn is a person thing and a majority of one so what constitutes the “best” will vary to every individual; ie: let them have their day. 😉
