Whether or not we support the wars our government decides we should fight, we ALWAYS SUPPORT the soldiers that fight them.

I agree. Today and everyday we should take a moment or two to remind ourselves of the true heroes in this country. The Military men and women deserve more then just a single day of appreciation.
i attended my town’s ceremony today. my late father was a WWII veteran of the south pacific theatre.
Buy a vet a beer or something today and be sure to say thanks. Freedom is never free, and they pay the price every day with the sacrifices that they make so that we can live free. There is nothing too good for the men and women that serve our nation and its ideals.
Thanks to every one who is, and who has, served freedom and democracy all around the world – in the US, Australia, New Zealand, the UK, Europe and everywhere else where freedom is that which defines us and unites us.

My childhood friend has been in Afghanistan an unconscionable amount of time. Maybe it has something to do with the military’s recruitment of minorities and members of the lowest socioeconomic class

A Will Ryder comment that I have to agree with! I get asked all the time if I am concerned that I do porn in camo clothing… most of it comes from our troops who really want us to send them pics overseas while they are on duty. Thanks to all the guys in Afghanistan, Iraq, and elsewhere who write in to me and send me stuff to wear. For some bizarre reason they do not allow the troops to access any adult material online. I guess the officers think it is undermining to the troops. If someone can explain that one to me, I am all ears.
