Savanna Samson-Exclusive Interview Part 1 & She’s on 30 Rock this week !

She’s what you imagine when you think of the ideal Porn Star Contract girl- beautiful, friendly, classy, smart, funny, warm and hardworking. Vivid made a brilliant decision when they hired her back in 2002. She went from a dancer at Scores to the top of the list of adult talent. Not just sexy, but also a talented actress and brainy business woman, she will be one of the few that achieves icon status. I caught up with the sensuous multitalented Savanna Samson, in New York City, just as she left her hairdresser….

Adult Fun 411: At Miami Exxxotica I loved you with brown hair, I didn’t ever recognize you from a distance when I saw you. When I set up this story I asked for the brown haired pictures of you. And then you went and dyed your hair on me today.
Savanna: (Laughs) I loved it too because I needed to do it. Maybe I needed to change my life and boyfriends, I don’t know. I felt like I really wanted to do it, and I’m glad I did. I felt like it made my eyes pop. I felt closer to god almost because it is more of my natural state. Which is kind of silly…
AF: You looked amazing with brown hair. But you just got out of the hairdresser, so know you are back to blonde.
S: Yes but I’ve got a lot of depth. I got rid of all the old blonde and now there is a lot of my own natural color throughout the hair. It feels healthier and like it’s high lights. Blonde after a while is just dry looking. I see some girls, and I think why would they go so blonde, and then I looked at my own pictures and I’m the same girl so…
AF: Well it does look good now, it’s sort of blond and brown mixed together.
S: Right. It’s one thing when you are going to blow it out, put the extensions in it, make it beautiful for camera, but on an every day basis if you aren’t going to take the time to do your hair, which I don’t do, it’s just going to look dry. I wanted it to look more natural and healthy.
AF: So do blondes have more fun?
S: I’m just having fun either way. I’m really in a good place right now.

AF: I’m glad to hear that. I saw the picture of your new hair on your twitter. That’s how I knew you were at the hairdresser. Then you went to lunch. You must love living in New York City; everything is so convenient. 
S: I really take advantage of all that New York has to offer. But now I also feel like I am so welcomed here. All the greatest places are happy to see me. It is really my home. I’ve been here for a while and I love it. I feed off the energy. If I am away, when I come back and I see the skyline, I can’t wait to get through the tunnel.
AF: You are a big city girl. You like the crowds and the entertainment.
S: I also get frustrated with the traffic and trying to get a cab, like last week was the UN assembly, but it makes you realize you can walk to Grand Central. It’s only a few blocks. Instead of just jumping in a cab all the time.
AF: You can walk everywhere in NYC if you feel safe. Do you feel safe there?
S: I feel safe. The problem is I wear my heels. I don’t mind. I can handle heels, but to walk blocks and blocks is not good for your shoes and not good for your feet.
AF: You need a pair of sneakers and carry the heels in your bag.
S: Yeah, I guess so. I need a bigger bag!

AF: I want to hear about your wine because you are now not only a big deal in porn, but you are also a big deal in wine. What do you call a, uhm, wine mistress?
S: I’m a vintner. What’s so great is I am almost afraid to get out of bed in the morning because my wine is really taking off and I’m thinking who do I think I am, am I really a business woman? I don’t know if I can handle the possible success that is happening.
AF: I know how you feel. Everything is going well, right? So what is going to go wrong?
S: I have to start hiring people which is exciting and I need to embrace it but I still feel like, who do you think you are? I’m kidding, I mean I don’t know how to describe it.
AF: You are doing a great job with your wine. I heard that you just did a big benefit for AIDS and your wine was served.
S: Yes. I’ve got some big bottles, a 3 liter and a 5 liter, and I have those with all my vintages for charity events. Like St Jude’s Children’s Hospital. It was so exciting. It was an auction. My first wine was up, it was a 3 liter, and people were bidding. Forty-five hundred, five thousand, fifty-five hundred, six thousand, it went way over nine thousand! After that I lost track. And then my white wine of the same size went to over seven thousand before I lost track. I was so proud of the wine, but also so proud to be able to contribute to something that can help people, you know?
AF: That’s fabulous. Look how much money you raised. That’s enough money to buy one of those little cars!
S: Yes. It was exciting. I do that with all my wines.
AF: What is your next wine coming out?
S: It is a Barbera. It is Songno tre Dreams 2005. It is amazing. It’s on the way to the states. It’s in with Southern Wine & Spirits. I also just bought into a company to make an American wine. It will be all green, something that will help the economy and the environment. I still have 100% control. I get to pick plots, and my winemaker will come and we will do the blend from start to finish. So this one will be more of my demographic, a nine to twelve dollar bottle that everybody can enjoy. My winemaker is coming from Italy next month and we will visit Eos winery and pick the plot and do the labels.
AF: Will it have your picture on it?
S: So far my first line has the pin-up style picture of me with different photographers shooting the label. For this one I will probably be on my first label, but a silhouette, black & white.

AF: That’s very exciting. You have so many things going on I don’t know how you keep track of everything.
S: (Laughs) I don’t either.
AF: Are you still taking acting classes?
S: Yep. I still do acting. As a matter of fact I am on 30 Rock. My episode airs on October 22. It is the second episode of the new season.
AF: That is so cool.
S: That is so cool.  I play porn Liz Lemon, as if Liz Lemon & Jenna were in porn before they started their production television company. Even Jane Krakowski said how awesome is Tina Fey and 30 Rock to use the real Savanna Samson to play this role. I was the one signing autographs. It was so neat. It was so much fun.
