This is where you get it wrong with ol’ Gillis. He wasn’t doing a lot of these things just for the dime, he was actually doing them because he loved what he did. I don’t think he even made any money on those “Walking Toilet Bowl” scat movies he shot. Honestly Mr. President, Dirty Debutantes could never work with both Ed Powers and Jaime Gillis, they were 2 opposite sides of the extreme: Ed Powers’ easy going, friendly, even somewhat dorky approach vs. Jaime Gillis’ mean spirited physiological abuse and humiliation. The series could go one way or another, and I believe it was a good thing that Jaime Gillis got out of it. I have no problem with gettin’ nasty and playing mindfuck games. On the contrary I enjoy it, I do that kind of stuff on and off camera; but to each his own. You gotta do things like that with the girls who are into it and enjoy it, not to fresh off the bus, naive newbies who come to shoot their first scene and have no idea what is what and which is which. It’s not right to traumatize and fuck somebody up just to shoot a porn scene. So in that sense, I believe Ed Powers took Dirty Debutantes in the right direction and Jaime Gillis just didn’t belong in a series of that nature.
