NL-I can’t say much about this post. Consider it gossip/rumor. I got it anonymously. I can’t find anything on this company anywhere, except that they were the ones who supposedly sold and shipped out the Max Hardcore vids that got him arrested. I don’t know if the below is real or not. If it is real, I hope someone corrected their spelling and grammar and sent it back to them with a big fat red "F" on the top. If anyone has info please comment. Jaded Video you are welcome to give your side also, and I will post it, mistakes and all.
Jaded Video is sending this message out industry wide –
We are currently reorganizing in order to stay in business in the future and are not in a position to pay any old debt. We apologize for this however we have layed off all employees and are just paying rent and insurance and utilities. We are trying to negotiate a substantial decrease in our rent in order to remain here in Huntington Beach and should be successful. So far, everyone has been extremely understanding and cooperative which we so appreciate. We will come out of this strong and look forward to working with you in the future. Please accept our apolgies here at Jaded and we will keep all our vendors posted as to our progress.
Sincerely,
Pamela Smith

If Max Hardcore is in jail for his movies, shouldn’t Jaded be in jail too?
They should also be in prison for spelling & grammar.
Another DVD affiliate program bites the dust. The aholes at AdultDvdExplorer (aka Metro) screwed affiliates over too.
They still have the Max Euro versions listed too, wonder what they did with the mark up on those.
This is complete bullshit and easily verifiable. Jaded Video are one of the biggest DVD affiliates in Southern California and their contact information including phone number, fax number, email, etc. is available on their web site.
The best thing any responsible person who receives such misinformation would do instead of instantly posting it, is trying to contact Jaded Video and ask them for comment, then trying to talk to some producers who do business with Jaded Video and find out whether they’ve been getting paid lately or not. Let me go on the record on this one: the latest check my distributer received from Jaded Video was last Tuesday, so to the best of my knowledge they’re still paying their affiliates promptly. Furthermore, their office is in Irvine, not in Huntington Beach.
Colonel, curious what the circumstances, legal or otherwise, were that Jaded was not pulled into the MH suit. I believe they were initially named, or had a separate suit, didn’t they? Seems the distrib would have been a key target of the feds.
Third Axis my man, Max Hardcore’s case was obviously a set up and the feds were after putting him away. They didn’t have any beef with Jaded Video, otherwise they could drag them into this, too. Here’s what Jaded Video explains about their Max Euro shipping policy:
‘We will not ship Max Euro to following states: Alabama, Tennessee, Florida, Oklahoma, Virginia, Illinois, Ohio, Mississippi, Utah, Montana, North Carolina. We will not be using the Post Office for any Max Euro shipment, and will use an alternative source. That being the case, we can no longer ship to Post Office boxes for Max Euro.’
‘For Max Euro, in addition to standard shipping costs placed on-line ($5 to $10 one time charge per order for orders under $100), we will also charge a $5 handling fee + the cost of premium shipping PER shipment. Usually, Max Euro orders are consolidated, but in the event a Max Euro order is shipped on two separate dates for the same order, there will be two additional charges that would comprise of a $5 handling charge + premium shipping charge each.’
‘For a limited time, for Max Euros orders, we will waive the $5 handling charge per shipment. Therefore, you still have to pay the one time standard shipping charge that you paid for on-line + the extra premium charge per shipment.’
Ahh so. You know, it mystifies me why anyone would ship through the US Postal Service anyway. This puts them squarely in violation of federal obscenity laws, as well as in the crosshairs of state attorneys. Anyone knows the risky states involved. Why not use UPS or another carrier instead, even though the cost may be slightly higher? The legal risk far outweighs the expense.
I wonder what the revision date was on the Max Euro state shipping, I know of one state on the list that a DVD was sent to in the last year.
You’re right, Larry, Jaded Video’s policy on shipping Max Euro has been revisioned recently. These were the original prohibited states:
KENTUCKY
MISSISSIPPI
OKLAHOMA
TENNESSEE
UTAH
Other states were added recently.
Third,
I know that becasue this comes from me you wont believe it, but this was the deal with jaded NOT getting charged.
In the contract to distrubute MH material, their was eveidence that MH actually had control over pricing and who would do the shipping. the contract with Jaded had provisions that MH insisited on, including not selling the videos for less than an ageed upon price. Jaded also showed that other companies did, at times, request that their product be shipped by UPS or other private parties. The agreement with MH was to use the least expensive shipping, which was the postal service.
By showing that Max actually had some cotrol over how the product was shipped, Jaded got off the hook. Jaded was originally charged, but when they proved that MH had control over who did the shipping, they basicaly turned states evidence and dodged the bullet. That is a very simple expination of a complex legal theory. Its actually a little more complicated than that, but in a nutshell, thats what happened.
Thanks Colonel, thanks General. Max just proved more stupidity on his part.
Thank you, general. Good info. Yes, it was my understanding from reading the interviews with the attorneys that Jaded turned state’s evidence for immunity.
We can play nice*
