I’ve been watching PR firms for years. Recently I’ve kept track of how well they respond to requests from press, what they do for their clients, and if they are really worth paying for.
If you are a publicity firm who deals with the adult industry and you haven’t talked to me in a while, now is the time. I will be doing a story on this soon.
So many of my friends ask for recommendations and I want to be able to give advice from an educated perspective. I have some PR people that are amazing, and others that do their job so half-assed it’s embarrassing.
Also if you deal with a PR firm and find it excellent or it sucks, send me your opinion.

Thanks!
I’ve thought about getting into the pr side of the industry but can’t figure out without getting killed how to get around the boyfriend/husbands/pimps/agencies/studios.
Not to mention making people pay you their fees!
Darrah how are you going to handle PR if you are:
1. Wrong Coast.
2. Do not what people to know who you are even on the phone for the fear someone might recognize your voice.
3. Have “tell as I feel things mentality”. Most PR guys are pro ass kissers.

Can you get their agency or management to pay?? The fucking nerve of these people. They’re not doing the pr but expect others to do it for free.

1. One pr firm that handles one big name is stationed in Tennessee!
2. Do they sell phones to civilians that are 100% non-traceable with caller ID? I’ve been thinking about that.
3. That’s how I would get myself killed. Just IMAGINE me talking to Derek Hay. Or the head of other agencies or studio. Or talking to the boyfriends/husbands/pimps. My clients would lose work because of my mouth.

I’m not sure if you are referring to April or Daniel Metcalfe, but both of those people used to live in LA for years and years.
Agents or management will not pay performers PR fees. It can be very difficult to collect monies owed from Porn Valley companies and individuals. I am not sure why it is that way, but not paying for services rendered is the norm; look at the AdultFYI or old Luke pages and the number of ‘so and so owes me thousands’ stories are plentiful.
