Who the hell is rascal flatts?
Actually, $1.00/ minute is the standard rate for a massage therapist that works backstage at most concert venues. Those therapists usually work not on the headliners, but the crew, band, etc. Because these guys usually just need a few minutes to attend to specific problem areas like back, legs, hands, shoulders, temples or feet… they wouldn’t need the typical full hour long massage. Sometimes the headliner or the opening acts will use these therapists as well if they don’t have their own on staff touring with them.
Often, a touring therapist will have their own private room to set up in, or will set up in the artists’ dressing room… while the backstage therapist will be lucky to just grab a corner somewhere. Their massages are generally performed over clothing and more along the lines of sports massage or deep tissue rather than a more soothing/ sensual Swedish massage… so yes, no happy endings. 😉
I actually went to massage school after my last bout with Ovarian cancer and Kanye West hired me for his first tour. I learned a lot about the nature of that business and made great contacts… There is a company called MassageForMusicians.com that hires out the type of therapists that Rascal Flatts are looking for.

When I started my business, I patterned it after hers… where you are paid to travel with or to A-List celebrities instead of working the back stages at conventions, concerts and festivals. I was pretty successful, despite my porn history… because I was amazing at my job. No Happy Endings required. 🙂 I can’t be on the road 3-6 months or longer a year now… but I loved doing it while I had the chance. 🙂
