Warrendale, PA (January 26, 2009) – Adult DVD Empire, five-time winner of the AVN Award for Best Retail Website has announced the nominees for the 2008 Empire Awards, the annual recognition of the best adult titles over the past year. The 2008 Empire Awards honor the standout adult DVD and Blu-ray releases between December 1st, 2007 and December 1st, 2008.
This year, the top nominated release was Digital Playground’s Pirates: Stagnetti’s Revenge, with nine total nods, including Best Overall DVD, Best Feature DVD, Best Blu-ray, and the Viewer’s Choice Award. Wicked Pictures Fallen was the second most nominated release, with seven nods, including Best Overall DVD, Best Feature DVD and Best DVD Extras.
Other titles with multiple nominations include Vivid’s Cry Wolf; Elegant Angel’s Alexis Texas is Buttwoman; Zero Tolerance’s Interactive Sex With Bree Olson; Vouyer Media’s The Gauntlet 3; Hustler’s Who’s Nailin’ Paylin? and Sex Z Pictures’ Icon.
The winners of the Empire Awards will be announced on Friday, February 20th. Winners are determined by votes cast by Adult DVD Empire’s Editorial staff and In-House Reviewers, along with other notable adult reviewers and select industry people. The Viewer’s Choice Award, however, can be voted on by anyone through the official Empire Awards website at www.EmpireAwards.com.
