I took a quick look at what the Colonel liked and what you guys thought of those picks. I am taping Doomsday right now as a matter of fact so I can watch it again. I don’t remember it as being that earthshatteringly good, I just remember some hot torture scenes. But I will watch it again to be sure. Right now I am re-watching HellBoy, that Darrah got me for xmas, and it is good.
I checked my Blockbuster rentals to see what I actually watched that was a 2008 movie that I gave a good rating too ( 3 1/2 or 4 stars out of five) and I didn’t find much of a list.
BEST-
Untraceable
Deception
Hellboy 2
Iron Man
Horton Hears a Who
Hancock
my webmaster wants to add- Religilous
That’s it, but I don’t go to the movies. It has to come out on DVD for me to watch it. Feel free to send suggestions or disagree.
WORST-
Zohan
Speed Racer
Love Guru
new addition, I just finished watching it, and it certainly belongs on this list-
Tropic Thunder
Doomsday’s Rhona Mitra plays the leading role in Underworld: Rise of the Lycans, the newest installment in Underworld series, the best vampire franchise in the recent years. I also liked Hellboy 2: The Golden Army, good story, good action sequences and good special effects.
The only 2008 mainstream movie I saw in a theatre was ‘The Golden Compass’. It’s based on the children’s book written by an atheist, and have received awards from the publishing industry. I only give it a 2 1/2 stars out of 5, but it did make at least half a billion dollars worldwide.
1. in bruges
2. gran torino
3. the wrestler
can’t say i watched any stinkers, the turds always seem obvious and easily avoidable.
Step Up 2 the Streets was one I saw for free. It was uproarious, and not because it intended to be.
Shine A Light was amazing; I saw it on IMAX. The Stones still kick ass after 40+ years.
Cheers Jed. In Burges was a great movie.
I don’t give a fuck how this sounds, but Beverly Hills Chihuahua was pretty good…
