NL- I liked Meet Dave, it was a funny family movie that had a happy ending. I didn’t see Saw 5 or Hottie. I agree with the rest of them, although Mummy had great special effects. I would add House Bunny to this list. What are your picks? How about worst porn movie this year?

  1. Man, I agree Fool’s Gold is horrible. Then I realized, I’m thinking of another Matthew McConaughey movie titled Sahara. That movie was unwatchable. I won’t dog McConaughey too much though, he seems like a cool surfer dude and it’d be hard to cast him in anything else but that type of role.

Think beyond 2008: any movie starring Adam Sandler is horrible, and as for Saw franchise, let’s just hope Michael Myers or Jason Voorhees catch those little fuckers who make Saw movies, and show them who’s the boss and who’s Tony Danza.

  3. Funny thing is that even if these were really bad movies, the actors in them are still more believable than the porn hos and meat puppets who think they can act in porn videos.

  4. i rarely go to mainstream movies, it’s the same ol’ shit mostly, my life’s crazier anyway.. did anyone watch the latest james bond flick? i was almost gonna go but last years was so fucking bad i decided not to

  5. can’t say i saw one of ’em, nor watched a porn flick.

  6. You forgot FRANK MILLER’S THE SPIRIT.

  7. The Colonel says:

Frank Miller the writer is brilliant: The dark knight returns, Ronin, Sin city series, and the list goes on; but Frank Miller the director sucks, I’m sorry , but there’s no other way to say this. Sin city which he co-directed with Robert Rodriguez was a ridiculously campy, over exaggerated B movie, during watching it, I felt I was swallowing 7 pounds of cheese, when I saw the trailer for Spirit, I got the feeling this is even going to be worse than Sin city, and now that the movie is out, everybody says it’s terrible. Go back to DC comics, Frank. This director gig is just not for you.

  8. The Day The Earth Stood Still was pretty weak

  9. eisforeric says:

I Saw Yes-Man the other night. It was downright horrible.

  10. The Colonel says:

Eric, almost anythin starring Jim Carry is horrible.

However, probably the worst movie of the year is Blindness starring Julianne Moore and
Mark Ruffalo. Since José Saramago published his critically acclaimed novel Blindness in 1995, there was an ongoing debate about whether a movie adaptation of this novel works or not. After several years, they finally made this movie which turned to be a complete disaster. Probably a more avant-garde director like David Cronenberg or Peter Greenaway could have done a much better job on this complex, surreal story.
