The Ninn Worx- Spearmint Rhino Debacle continues…
It’s confusing. And the information below is all ALLEGED at this point.
Here are the majority players-
John L Gray- owner of the Spearmint Rhino chain of Gentlemans Clubs
Michael & Q Ninn- previous owners of Ninn Worx, along with being the creative force behind the company.
One year ago, on July 23, 2007, Ninn and Gray signed on the dotted line to become NinnWorx_SR. (NWSR)
Here is the newest rumored happening-
The Feds are now involved in the mess called Ninn Worx _SR, a Spearmint Rhino Company. Seems that Michael and Q Ninn bought some websites. IMNinn.com was for their future projects. JohnLGray.com was for, uhm, personal use. These sites were taken over and changed by John Gray. Q Ninn called in the FBI and reported Gray for theft of domain names which i guess is a federal crime.
Here is SOME of the back story-
Michael Ninn ( with his wife Q)’s company Ninn Worx were known for producing artistic adult movies. Every aspect of the movie was important; lighting, costumes, storyline, not JUST the sex scenes. They produced many award winners including the dark and moody Catherine.
John L Gray has operated the ever growing chain of Spearmint Rhino gentlemen’s clubs around the world which brought in some of the top name adult stars to feature at the clubs.
The two decided to partner up with the company called Ninn Worx_SR and produce movies together. Their contract girls would appear in the movies, along with dancing at the Clubs. Good idea, in theory.
NWSR was 51% owned by John L. Gray and 49% by Michael Ninn.
Girls under contract to NWSR were Cassidey, Jana Jordan, Nikki Kane, Rene Perez and Brea Bennett. (nice pics of them at http://www.ninnworx.com/contract_stars_08/nwsr_cs_08.html)
NW-SR was not a happy marriage, and very soon the principals were fighting. The booth and stars made a big showing at the AVN convention in January 2008 to promote their big movie of the year, THE FOUR.
Unhappy staff at the new company were already thinking mutany. Gray didn’t want to pay the bills or the people Ninn had brought on board. In April & May, Contract stars started dropping like flies, for different reasons. Some things I heard-They didn’t sign a contract to become a stripper. They expected to star in big budget feature films, which weren’t being made. They wanted a steady paycheck and there wasn’t one.
In the beginning of June, Michael was locked out of the NWSR buildings and SR released a statement saying Ninn was on Hiatus.
Two weeks later, we learned that the shit had hit the fan full force and Michael Ninn had enough. He released this statement-
The director previously known as Michael Ninn has left his association with Ninn Worx_SR – A Spearmint Rhino Company. IMNINN plans to embark on a new multi-media project that will deliver the singular fusion of creative imagery and hardcore adult entertainment that has marked his legendary 16-year career, from his days at Western Visuals to his most current partnership in Ninn Worx_SR.
“I would first like to apologize to the people who believed in me over the last eight months as I made my path through a journey called Ninn Worx_SR. I publicly apologize to Brea Bennett, Cassidey, Jana Jordan, Nikki Kane and Renee Perez, who believed in me and a dream I had, called Ninn Worx_SR. You did not deserve the way you have been treated, the half-truths you were told, nor the lack of respect you were given. My support for you, my crew and every other person that believed in me and my dream never failed. However, because of my belief in what Ninn Worx_SR could be, I find myself on the outside of my own company, looking in. A place I never imagined I’d be, but a fitting place none the less for me. I join you on the outside of Ninn Worx_SR, not a broken man, but a person who choose conscience over wealth, respect over disrespect and truth over half truths,” stated IMNINN.
Looking forward to the future, IMNINN is currently building a new internet presence and producing and directing adult and mainstream entertainment titles, building an entirely new catalog for the burgeoning enterprise.
IMNINN admits that he’s reached a turning point in his career, “There comes a time in most people’s life when you must make this choice; to put the better good above ones self, that wealth is not as important as well being and doing the right thing makes you a better person in spite of the out come. I say to you today, I stand on the outside of Ninn Worx_SR along with my contract stars and my crew, knowing that I no longer have to live with the lie that the check is in the mail or that the corporate committee will get back to you, as soon as they have reviewed your invoice and have reached a decision on paying you.”
IMNINN continues,” I feel this is not an end at all, but just the beginning. I enter the next phase of the Ninn Worx_SR relationship with a positive attitude and a firm belief in our legal system and welcome the challenges ahead.”
August 16th is the release party for The Four. I wonder of Michael and Q Ninn will be attending….
Actually you missed part of the story, at least in regards to the name. At first it was Ninn Worx, then John Gray invested so they renamed it to Ninn Worx_SR, which represents the investment from Spearmint Rhino into the company.
Then without notice, one day without discussing it with anyone, he felt that Spearmint Rhino wasn’t getting enough out of the deal so he renamed the company again and now when you speak of Ninn Worx you must say their full official name which is Ninn Worx_SR, a Spearmint Rhino Company. When asked about the name change he basically went off about how he owns majority share and he’ll do whatever the fuck he wants.
At least that’s the story I heard.
