A story on AVN.com announces the 1st annual Urban Spice Awards for ethnic stars and movies. It says the awards were organized by director Giana Taylor, which is the directing alias for the wife of Alex Devoe. Many people speculate that "Giana Taylor" is just another name Devoe shoots under, to avoid the wrath of his "exclusive" distributor, Jules Jordan Video.
So, in reality, Alex Devoe has organized the ethnic porn awards. I think almost anyone would agree there is an ethical conflict of interest here. I wonder if he will win any honors.
Yeah, what an incredible idea. This will help producers sell more videos. Yet another award show. The over saturated porn business needs another show in the over saturated awards shows.

The “website” is simply a large text image with the photoshop called lens flair. Someone forgot to explain the bozo who created the text image that len flair is caused by the sun hitting the lens of video/still cameras at certain angles which means its tacky and pointless to have it on a text image unless you are just happy as well to have found this new filter while taking an art class at your local city college.
If AVN was really a “news” organization and not a pay-for-play rag the author would have asked one simple question:
Why?
The adult business needs another award show like it needs another gonzo shooter or another unlicensed talent agency or yet another suitcase pimp dragging his unwilling girlfriend into another Brandon Iron shoot.
AVN probably asked “Giana Taylor” one question before writing the story.

Once there is an agreement on the ad space then Giana hands the copy over and AVN simply copies and pastes.
No location and no sponsorship huh? Why would any one sponsor this train wreck? Why anyone come or view the show? Why any mainstream magazines report on the show? Sponsors want to sell product. If the event doesnt produce large number then its pointless.
AVN is so pointless and irrelevant that they didnt even care to point out the fact that “Erotic Diva Models” is not a licensed talent agency. They are not listed with the state of California:

You guys give AVN and XBIZ more credit for making a profit that you should. They’re trade magazines. Someone sends in PR, they put it up. Sometimes they’ll get a quotation to make it look as if they put some work into it or at least more work than all the cut-and-paste “news” sites out there – like mine.
Can you imagine how inefficient it would be for AVN/XBIZ to collect payment for a story before they put it up? In this industry? They’d be three to six months behind on posting press releases.
And how many times can blog commentators just rehash the same old same old about all the “losers” in the industry? I guess if you want to look like an “insider” – whatever that means in this industry, you have to talk the tired old “insider” talk: “suitcase pimp”, “trainwreck”, “pay-for-play”, etc.
Why not point out the ridiculous amount of money this brand new event is asking for sponsorships? From a marginal sector of the industry? If you’re going to criticize this show before it even happens, there’s no reason even to mention AVN.

But your suggestion that I use Joomla shows what a chump you are. Joomla is programmed in PHP, but claims to be “object-oriented”, running an MVC program stack. Yeah, object-oriented PHP.
Off the shelf platforms like Joomla do nothing for my requirements – which is why I’ve been reprogramming my site’s functionality in a real programming language (ie, an object-oriented one, for which patterns like MVC were actually designed), not a scripting language for slap-dash hackers whose code ends up a pile of spaghetti in a few months. As you must know if you do any programming of your own or have hired the usual industry crew to build a website for you.
I’m not in competition with AVN or XBIZ, nor am I envious of them. Why should enyone be envious of a trade publication?
And I’m not an insider, whatever that means – and I never claimed to be. I merely implied that you’re a loser.
As for where I live – suffice it to say that I live on the water, but not in Silverlake. When the smog clears over the Valley, I can probably hike down to a ridge below my house and pick out your hovel in the flats.
