Piracy Through Tube Sites

Roughly a week ago, Xbiz held a Piracy Seminar during their Hollywood Conference. The panel for this conference consisted of Andrew Stoddard from Hush Hush (and Shane’s World), as well as Jason Tucker from Falcon Foto. Several lawyers were also on the panel as was Diane Duke from the Free Speech Coalition.

During the seminar it was revealed that Andrew and Jason, along with other industry players, had created an adult industry organization to combat piracy. Apparently they held a private meeting with other industry owners behind closed doors and made sure that anything that was discussed at the meeting would not be revealed. This organization is called the PAK Group.

The main focus of the seminar seemed to be on the popularity of "Tube" sites (adult versions of YouTube). These sites offer a myriad of stolen content for free and in turn offer the ability for webmasters or affiliate programs to advertise on their sites. Andrew S claimed during the seminar that the affiliate program Brazzers is behind such Tube sites as PornHub.Com and RedTube.Com. I believe Brazzers denies ownership of these sites, but I can’t find any formal statement. The GFY forums have been rife with conjecture over what Brazzers real involvement is with these sites. According to one source I talked to, Andrew’s position seemed to be that if you buy any form of advertisement on a Tube site with content not legally purchased, you are contributing to the theft of said copyright.

The heated argument I alluded to last week was between Andrew and Sean Christian from Adult Friend Finder. I’ve been told by several webmasters that AFF has a nearly limitless budget when it comes to advertising. The argument was over the fact that AFF has paid for ads on Tube and Torrent sites. AFF Sean tried to defend the companies position, but porners in the crowd said to me his various defenses didn’t add up. One of these defenses was that if AFF doesn’t buy the ads, then their competitor will. Why are people surprised over a lack of moral ethics in this business?

The Brazzer issue has become a hot topic on the Webmaster Forum GFY. Pornreviewsource posts:

thats the truth right there…. like i said in a similar thread… Brazzers don’t give a sh*t… they have ads on redtube, megatronic, pornbb.org and many more content stealing sites… we can make as many threads about this as we want but unless REAL legal action is taken nothing will be done to stop this… brazzers doesn’t give a sh*t if 1, 2 or 15 webmasters stop promoting them… the sales they lose from those 1, 2 or 15 webmasters will be made up by all the ads they are taking out on the very high traffic content stealing sites… not to mention the fact that 90% of their webmasters won’t even care about this because brazzers will continue to make them money… as i said earlier, without real legal action this shit will never end…

ismokeblunts writes:

Doesn’t Brazzers OWN Redtube? It’s seems brazzers is the program of choice for piracy forums, media upload joints, and tube sites. They are the only one I ever see pop up as a paysite type program supporting these type of operations.

Voodoo (who I believe works for Andrew S at Hush Hush) posted this graphic:

Who exactly owns Brazzers? Several Webmasters I talked to seemed to concur that they are one of the strongest affiliate programs currently out there.

Can the industry actually stem the tide on the increasingly rampant theft happening online?

Update: A similar disscussion about piracy in general is currently going on over at Adult DVD Talk. The user LubeNLuv posts:

The REAL piracy isn’t taking place on Rapidshare. It has, and always will, take place on Usenet newsgroups. Just to prove my point. Go to the front page of AdultDVDTalk. Now take a look at the top 10 Price searches. Using my Newsgroup providers search tool, 8 of those movies are available on Usenet for download right now. And I’m not talking DIVX conversions….these are complete DVD-4 or DVD-9 rips, so once you download and reassemble the parts, you have a complete ISO image of the ORIGINAL DVD, without any kind of compression or loss in quality at all.

THAT is piracy. And it’s been like this for as long as I can remember. Every once in awhile, I see some push to shut down some of the websites that index these illegal uploads to Usenet. But for all the ones that are shut down, 5 more pop up in their place. It’s ridiculous.

Regardless of the impact on porn sales, I also think one other thing is biting into the market. There is, quite simply, not a whole lot of “new stuff” left to show. We’ve got a decade of anal, gangbang, scat, piss, mock (or real) abuse, BDSM, cum gargling, bukkake, lesbian, TS, etc etc etc. What the hell else is there to show? Snuff films?

I occasionally buy a porn title these days. But frankly…nothing new under the sun for me. So my money goes elsewhere.

No, not without a lot of government regulation.

Take a look at Steven Hirsch thinking about the children by lobbying yahoo and google to deter minors from accessing adult material. You’re going to see a lot of thinking about the children from pornographers within the next few years in an effort to legitimize and increase their market share.

“Responsible companies in the adult industry such as ours have done a great deal to deter minors from accessing adult material,” according to Mr. Hirsch. “None of the search engines and portals, but particularly Yahoo and Google, has taken any significant steps in this direction. Vivid will work with any company that is ready to make it much more difficult for children to be exposed, even inadvertently, to material intended only for adults. This is not about First Amendment rights, it is about protecting children.”

  2. The porn business is full of thieves who operate out in the open.

Blacksonblondes.com started out as dogfart filling the usenet newgroups full of screen captures of videos from companies like Anabolic and others.

The Jew who runs now lives in Arizona has some retard named Billy that shoots for him here in LA.

Anabolic should have sent that thieving Jew a strong message years ago but now he lives in a mansion and Anabolic is about to go out of business.

The whole internet porn thing is fucked up. Any webmaster who promotes websites using TGP is helping devalue the entire porn industry.

The problem is that guys are always looking for the easiest and the fastest way to do something. No one in this business thinks long term so they end up going out of business in a few years.

Where are these companies at now?

    Leisure Time Video
    VCA
    Caballero
    Seymore Butts

At one time Mark at Leisure Time was THE MAN, this guy had money and was selling tons of videos under 100 different company names.

The industry will continues to bleed money until people simply say fuck it and move onto other and better things.

  3. What a fucking surprise. Brazzers is run by the same thieving Jew that runs Blacksonblondes. The IP addresses are only a few digits apart.

Some of those sites are part of the Brazzers network. Not a surprise that one company is stealing from others and then bagging the advertising money. The industry eats their own…quickly. AFF often pops up on bills of stolen Credit Card numbers, from what I’ve heard and seen a few times. I’m not saying anything here, but it sure seems odd.

  8. America has the worlds highest incarceration rate(per capita). The bail bond business should be great. I would only post bail for people with at least a credit score of 680 or higher to reduce my risk.

Maybe you should put a GPS up their ass once you post bail for them? Set up the GPS so that if the GPS doesnt detect a warm smelly asshole it sends an alarm letting you know of a bail jumper.

  9. ninjapirate, thank you for stating the obvious. All of the sites are hosted by the same company in the same physical location and run by the same thief.

Swiftwill is simply a front and since there is a sneaky and crafty Jew involved there is probably some money laundering using Swiftwill as the front with its 10 yr old outdated prices.

The REAL piracy isn’t taking place on Rapidshare. It has, and always will, take place on Usenet newsgroups.
    “”””

    1. Organized pirate groups will have their own private ftps with their releases on it.

    2. Then someone there will probably post that release up to usenet.

    3. Someone might make a torrent out it it.

    4. Then it will be found on someones direct connect or edonkey share

    5. Someone will upload it to file upload service like rapidshare, for the priviledge to download from other peoples uploads.

    6. Then it will be found on one of the many tube sites.

~whenever. Someone will burn it to a dvd-r.

~whenever. DVD ends up on black market in 3rd world countries.

If the MPAA and the RIAA couldn’t stop piracy than the porn industry doesn’t have a fucking chance. Porn, Movies, and Music are all stale anyway. There are too many different channels of distribution, with many different revenue models, most of them pirate-for-non-profit.

The only advantage that the porn industry has is reliable, certifiable distribution channels. That is what makes the tube sites the most dangerous with regard to piracy. It is the most accessible way for regular internet surfers to get pirated porn. You just need flash installed, it streams so consumers don’t have to wait to get off, theres something new everyday, it costs nothing, it’s better organized and classified, and it’s quality is ok. The other piracy methods take a lot more work for the individual and there’s always the issue of the file being corrupted.

  18. Preventing piracy is pretty simple. Stop with unlimited downloading. At&t and Comcast both want to limit the amount of bandwidth customers use. I’m fine with that. If you are on DSL or Cable modem and you are using 300GB per day you are probably stealing music, porn or something. Your average user probably doesnt even use 800MB of traffic on a daily basis. Once you start charging for downloading crazy amounts of data then you will kill off the pirates because the last thing they will want to do is pay. If all the major players get togther and charge a free then even the smaller companies will have to follow along. Alot of smaller ISPs such as Speakeasy depend entirely on a single larger provider such as Covad so if Covad charged per MB then Speakeasy would have to as well.

  19. Once upon a time there was a guy who posted on the newsgroups. He called himself Dogfart. He had no affiliations with anyone at all. Dogfart was just a dude who liked anonymous attention, and he got his fix by becoming a hero to many early internet users in a places called alt.binaries.interrational, as well other newsgroups I won’t bother to mention.

Dogfart was a whiz at Photoshop, and he liked to create what I’ll call “4 Panel pictures”, for lack of a better term.

    He liked interracial porn, too.

Combine the love of Photoshopping dirty pictures, anonymous attention, interracial porn, with a whole lot of time on his hands, and soon Dogfart was The King of the Newsgroups.

About that time, a dude on the other side of the country — who had never met Dogfart — decided to start a site featuring Dogfart’s work.

This is 1996, I think…but I could be wrong. Eons ago, in terms of the internet.

Not only did that site feature Dogfart’s work, but they sold IR VHS movies…the same source tapes Dogfart used for his newsgroup pictures.

These were tapes purchased from distributors at wholesale, and retailed in the member’s area of that website.

    Sold — not rented.

However, all that content was soon pulled, production companies were compensated for Dogfart’s work, and everyone moved on.

    Except Big Dick Daddy.

We all know the divorce rate in America. We all know just cause you have someone’s last name it doesn’t really mean that’s your birth name. And if your name can be associated with any faith or ethnicities, that doesn’t necessarily make you part of that church…or race.

Ever been to a hosting company? If you haven’t, they’re the places internet sites reside, so to speak, and those sites are located on computers that hold hard drives, and those computers and hard drives look just like that one you’re sitting by…except there’s racks and racks of computers in those hosting many different adult websites, cause, well…that’s how hosting companies make their money.

If two internet sites are hosted by the same company, that might make their IP numbers close, but that’s about it. And just cause that company might host a site, that doesn’t mean the hosting company is owned by that site; in fact, I don’t know of a single hosting company that owns any adult sites, but what would a retard know, anyway?

A few weeks ago, a vote was taken as to banning Jeremy Steele or BDD from this blog. I voted for neither. BDD is one of the reasons I come to this site on a daily basis, and I enjoy his wry wit, his knowledge about what’s really going down in this industry, and his unabashed drive to tell it like it is…even when he’s wrong.

  20. Being on the payroll of a habitual thief has obviously skewed your sense of morality. This is an issue common to most Republicans but thats a different blog for a different day.

If you are gonna sit here and tell us that brazzers.com, dogfart, gloryhole and all those other websites JUST HAPPEN to have similar IP addresses then I wont even waste my breath.

Most of us that read this website were born at night, but you think we were all born LAST night.
