Morgan Hill – As the news of Inkyo "Wanker Wang" Volt Hwang’s death and the apparent murder of his new wife permeates the dark underworld of pornographic fame in Los Angeles, members of the adult entertainment industry are questioning how and why he died in a motel in Morgan Hill.
Hwang’s Sept. 29 death in the Economy Inn on Monterey Road was reported in the Oct. 2 edition of the Times, although his identity was not released by authorities at that time. He was found dead in his room at approximately 1:30pm when the manager attempted to ask him if he wanted to stay another night and received no response. Morgan Hill police officers found his body half-in and half-out of the bed. No one else was in the room or registered to the room, and police officials said his death was not considered suspicious. The cause of death won’t be released until the toxicology tests are completed, which could be six to eight weeks.
When a follow-up story ran in the Times Oct. 9, identifying the body as the 38-year-old porn director and linking him to a possible homicide in King City, the adult entertainment industry woke up, speculation flying fast and furious around the community. Morgan Hill The body of a 38-year-old man whom police say may have been a suspect in a King City homicide was found in a local motel room Saturday afternoon.
Police said there appeared to be nothing suspicious related to the death, but an investigation is underway.
The man’s name is not being released yet because the Santa Clara County Coroner¹s Office is trying to confirm his identity.
Morgan Hill police Sgt. Jerry Neumayer said the man is from Gardena and may have been a suspect in a King City homicide this summer.
The man’s body was found Saturday afternoon at approximately 1:40pm when the manager of the Economy Inn on Monterey Road went to see if the man would be staying another night. He had checked in Friday night, and it did not appear that anyone else had been in the room with him. He was found half in and half out of bed, according to Cmdr. Joe Sampson. Officers were called to the motel, and the manager told them the man was not opening his door. They entered the room and found the man dead.
Neumayer said there were no weapons found in the room and no drugs, no suicide note, "nothing suspicious."
An autopsy was performed Monday afternoon to determine the cause of death. Neumayer said there were no obvious wounds or marks on the man¹s body.
