Jaime Hammer Interview

She’s the Penthouse Pet for November 2007.

Her first name is pronounced "Jamie."

Jaime Hammer is her real name. JaimeHammer.com is her website.

We chat at Coffee Bean on Sunset Blvd. Thursday afternoon.

Video Video II

I accidentally left my video camera on nightvision for the first half of the interview. Also, in my zeal to keep strangers out of the lens, I kept pointing the camera at the wall, leaving Jaime completely out of the picture.

According to Wikipedia:

Jaime Hammer (born May 16, 1982) is a Playboy glamour model.

Jaime Hammer’s Playboy Special Editions audition during her senior year at Arizona State University proved so promising that she made the cover for her first appearance in the magazine, the Spring 2004 College Girls issue. She has since appeared on other Playboy Special Edition covers including the 100th edition of Playboy’s Lingerie, as well as other Special Edition covers. More recently, Hammer has begun modeling for Penthouse. She appears on the cover of the November 2007 issue of Penthouse as well as being featured as the Pet of the Month.

Born in Chicago, she attended Francis W. Parker high school. Hammer moved to Los Angeles to pursue a career in modeling/entertainment.

She was Playboy‘s Cyber Girl for the week of May 23, 2005 and Cyber Girl of the Month for September 2005. She was also Twistys Treat of the Month for June 2006.

I begin the interview by asking Jaime about her day.

Magazines such as Penthouse pay their models for doing interviews and they like to line them all up in one day.

Jaime sips a "carmel ice-blended" coffee.

Jaime: "I got up at 5 a.m. I’m not a morning person, so that was vicious.

"I drove all the way out to San Bernadino.

"Then I went over to National Lampoon on Sunset. XM radio. Then I did the Jason Ellis show. I’ve never heard of it either. He had me talking for two hours. No commercials because it is Sirus. He’d play songs intermittently."

Jaime got her B.A. in Communications from Arizona State. "I didn’t want to be close to my family."

She grew up in Chicago. "I remember in high school watching Howard Stern and thinking, ‘I want to be like those girls.’

"As soon as I had boobs, I thought, ‘Might as well do something with it.’"

She had a reputation for drinking and partying. "They called us the Lincoln Avenue girls."

She lost her virginity at 15 and estimates she’s been with over 60 men in her life. "It isn’t that bad."

Her mom wanted her to get an office job after college but Jaime says she’s come around.

Jaime stopped talking to her dad at age 15.

She likes older men.

"I go to therapy."

"I hate dating. It’s icky. It’s hard to meet people."

Jaime has girlfriends who put more effort into their partying than their career. "I can’t live like that. That doesn’t interest me at all."

She drives a Mercedes.

What will she do on camera?

Jaime: "I keep things pretty Playboy style. I don’t do toys or masturbation or girl-girl or boy-girl. Soft, glamor, solo."

"I don’t need to do more."

Luke: "If they were to make a movie of your life, what would they call it?"

Jaime: "Ahead of her time."

Luke: "Who would play you?"

Jaime: "Gina Gershon."

Luke: "What things typically make you angry?"

Jaime: "When people who don’t work hard, who are idiots, get things the easy way or advance past me in some way. A lot of that goes on. I’ve hard my site for three years and worked so hard on it. I try to keep my traffic rank high. There’s only so much you can do. It plateaus. I helped my girlfriend get her website going. Nobody was going on it. She barely updated it. She is so half-assed about it. One night she was out in Hollywood drunk and they videotaped her and put her on TMZ.com and suddenly she was getting quadruple the traffic on her site. It angered me because all she did was get drunk in Hollywood and flash her tits on camera. Here I am doing my TGPs, going on message boards, having chats, rallying, doing all this hard work, and I didn’t get half the traffic she did that month. I call it ‘the idiot factor.’ A lot of that happens here. People get things handed to them. I can’t stand that."

Jaime laughs.

Luke: "What things make you happy?"

Jaime: "The sun. Getting what I deserve. The Pet and cover thing, wow! To have that title is so special, wow! Only 12 girls a year are picked. And of course shopping. Clothes. Travel."

Luke: "How have friends from high school reacted?"

Jaime: "They’re happy. I rarely get any bad reaction."

Luke: "Have you had any importnat life lesson in the last few months?"

Jaime; "Persistence. Penthouse first told me no. I didn’t give up until they said fine. I contacted every photographer I had met and had them hound Penthouse with emails. Finally, the photo editor call me and say, ‘I just had ten emails from people who want to shoot you.’ I had all my fans write letters in. I started contacting themin February and it took them until May or June. I did not give up until I got yes.’
