An Interview With Avy Lee Roth’s Sister Brenna

They share the same father — rocker David Lee Roth. They have different mothers. Brenna (her MySpace) grew up in Ohio and Avy grew up in Spain. They have a brother that David doesn’t talk about (to them anyway).

According to Brenna’s IMDB biography: "Brenna Lee Roth was born in Lincoln, Nebraska in 1983. She was a Model for several companies in 1990 until 1999. In 2000 Brenna joined her brother Kevin Roth singing in the punk band Bosworth. She currently lives in Cleveland, Ohio and Studio City, California. Graduated from Malone with a B.S. in Theatre. Says the thing she was born to do was to be an Actress."

Brenna has acted in three low-budget horror films.

I talk to Brenna by phone Friday morning. Audio

Luke: "I heard you bought two porn sites and took them down. What was that about?"

Brenna: "I don’t know. About? What it is… I bought two sites, yeah, and that was it."

Luke: "Which two websites?"

Brenna: "PornStarGreetings.com and Adultentertainment.org."

The latter is still up and peddling porn.

Luke: "Why did you choose them?"

Brenna: "Hmm. I don’t really know. I know a lot of girls that were working on the sites and just weren’t comfortable doing it anymore and didn’t have a way out. I gave them the easy way out by buying the company and shutting it down."

Luke: "How did you know these girls?"

Brenna: "One of them is my sister Avy. Some of the others I had worked with in the past. They were models, like five or six years ago, and they just got into the wrong kind of business."

Luke: "Hasn’t Avy left the porn industry?"

Brenna: "She has. I don’t know if she’s done anything this year. I know that last year she did quite a few films. I don’t know if she’s working on any right now."

Luke: "How do you feel about her getting into the industry in the first place and now that she’s out, how do you feel about that?"

Brenna: "She loves entertaining people and she loves art. She’s one of the most intelligent people that I know. She’s an amazing woman and her talent stands for more than just getting naked. I think that there’s more that she personally wants to do."

Luke: "Did it appall you?"

Brenna: "Oh no. Not at all. It was her decision and I definitely stood by that."

Luke: "When you were a child, what did you want to be when you grew up?"

Brenna: "Hmm. Huh. I wanted to be a runner in the Olympics."

Luke: "For what distance?"

Brenna: "I don’t know. I just know that I wanted to be a runner when I grew up. That didn’t work out so well."

Luke: "Did you ever run track for your school?"

Brenna: "I didn’t. I didn’t have time to. I was always a model. I didn’t have time to do any school activities."

"I grew up in Ohio, just outside of Cleveland."

Luke: "Is there a big modeling industry there?"

Brenna: "No. I worked in LA and New York from age eight to fifteen."

Luke: "How did that effect your life?"

Brenna: "Now that I’m 24, I’m just now realizing that I may have missed out on a lot of my childhood that I didn’t really realize. I’ve known Dee Snyder, the singer of Twisted Sister, since I was three and I didn’t know until last month that he was the lead singer of Twisted Sister. And then I was just like, oh. Maybe I was more sheltered than I noticed.

"I grew up knowing a lot of famous people. I didn’t really realize that me not having a real job and me hanging out with celebrities was odd until recently. I’ve just recently moved back to Ohio and people see me as a celebrity and I’m like,  ‘Umm, I don’t know about that. I guess.’

"There are things that I pick up now that I’m older. Yeah, maybe I missed out on some things in life."

Luke: "How did it affect the way other people treated you when you were a kid?"

Brenna: "I wasn’t old enough to realize that maybe some of these people are only my friend because of other people in my family. Now that I’m older, I’m not on edge, but I have my guard up. Definitely. Who I invite over to my house or who I hang out with in public. I know who my friends are now. Kids I went to college with."

Luke: "Did you know Avy when you were a kid?"

Brenna: "When I was twelve, I knew that I had a sister but I didn’t end up meeting her until three years ago at Venice Beach. She’s almost 28. We totally clicked. We’re both solid entertainers. We just feel the need to entertain people."

Brenna says David Lee Roth has three kids. "A boy. I don’t know what his name is. My dad is not open to talking about anything."

Luke: "What role did David play in your childhood? Was he around?"

Brenna: "Yes. He was. Quite often. Until I was three, I spent lots of time with him. Then my mom moved me back to Ohio out of New York. She married another man. He [David] is always someone I can talk to if I need entertainment advice or advice on where I can go next with my career.

"He’s more of a friend in the industry than a father."

She says her step-dad is "more conservative than Dave. I had a solid family."

Luke: "What kind of crowd did you hang out with in high school?"

Brenna: "One of the things that I missed out on in childhood was having friends and hanging out. Some people made clear that they were only my friend because of who my dad was. On top of that, I was working so much modeling that I didn’t really have time for friends until I was in college."

Luke: "What was your reputation in high school?"

Brenna: "I was a cheerleader. I don’t know if I had a bad reputation or not. I dated a lot of boys."

"I am about to get married [to Kyle Hudson]. I want to be a wife."

Luke: "What do you love and hate about your life now?"

Brenna: "I’m too busy. That’s the only thing I hate."

"I hate the politics behind [acting]. I hate people trying to talk me into things I don’t want to do."

Luke: "So what are things people try to talk you into doing that you don’t want to do?"

Brenna: "I’m under contract now for a movie called Dog. The executive producer thinks that it would be a great idea for me to get naked and almost fired me twice over not wanting to do it."

"I see myself wanting to settle down and be more conservative and do less work."

Luke: "How do you feel about being written about?"

Brenna: "I love it. Some of it is so not true that it’s funny."

"I love to be interviewed by people who know something about me. Yesterday I was interviewed by a boy in Indianapolis that thought that my girlfriend was Christina Ricci and that we lived together. I sorta hung up on that guy."

Luke: "Out of all the things you’ve accomplished in your life, of which things are you most proud of?"

Brenna: "I’m proud of being a wonderful mother."

"I do want to be more conservative now that I’ll be a wife and a mother."

Luke: "Did you have a teacher who most influenced you?"

Brenna: "I guess my dad."

Luke: "What kind of advice did your father give you agbout the media?"

Brenna: "Not much. He usually talks about everything. It’s hard for me not to talk about everything."

Her favorite author is Chuck Palahniuk, (Fight Club, Choke, etc).

Luke: "Do you think that artists have a responsibility to society or just to themselves?"

Brenna: "I feel like I have a responsibility to my fans to keep them satisfied."

Luke: "What do your fans most want from you?"

Brenna: "Half of them want to see me naked and the other half want to see me star in A films instead of independent films. The boys would be the first half."

Luke: "Why do you not do nudity?"

Brenna: "I guess I’m saving it for my husband [Kyle Hudson]. I want him to be the only one that sees that."

Luke: "How long have you been together with your future husband?"

Brenna: "Five weeks. We’re probably getting married in Bloomington next weekend."

Luke: "Why so quick?"

Brenna: "I did know the first time I met him that I wanted to marry him."

"It was five weeks ago on a music video shoot for a band called Inhale/Exhale. He was cast as my husband. I did the music video for free because the director begged me. I hit on him and he didn’t notice it. He ignored me. Then I messaged him on MySpace the next day."

"If I don’t do it now, I won’t be able to marry him until March. I’m going to be off doing other things. I want to marry him before I get pregnant."

  1. A point in favor of the argument that a hysterical personality might have a genetic factor.
Maybe Brenna and Avy inherited the attention seeking genes of their flamboyant father. One grew up in a solid family with a non abusive stepfather and is looking for socially acceptable ways to get peoples attention. The other was raised by her groupie single mom in Spain and became a porno whore and rock and roll groupie.
So Avy was after all David Lee Roth daughter. Avy her real first name?
Talk about using porn to get your daddy attention!
