I find the biggest turn-on can be seeing as clearly as possible into the lives of these pathetic, desperate, borderline illiterate adult industry "people." From top to bottom, they represent an utter waste of sentient life; all the better to view their tragicomic situation as sex workers in crystal clear HD. The magic can be the reality in this case.
Obviously this approach is not going to cut much ice if you’re into the escapism of features. But this probably accounts for some of gonzo’s cut-to-the-chase appeal, as well as amateur porn for that matter.

None of the companies are in a rush to go HD DVD (or Blu-Ray for that matter) if you look at their limited output to date. As far as the cost to consumer is concerned, Debbie Does Dallas Again (the only title available on all three formats) costs distributors two bucks more than the standard version but they double the price at retail.
On the other notes, amateur porn with all its blemishes is a huge seller so the clarity of high definition will just as likely expand the market as anything else when the true look of the performers is displayed.
