Steve Javors writes for XBiz:
LOS ANGELES — Lindsay and Lacey Love, known in the adult industry as the Love Twins, are no longer Vivid Girls. The twins’ exclusive contract with Vivid Entertainment has expired so the girls are now free agents being represented by LA Direct Models.
The Love Twins are available to shoot July 14-24, and are excited to make their gonzo debut. The identical pair starred in 10 features for Vivid — the only company they’ve worked for.
I say "Good Luck" to the Love Twins, but this is not the best time to be a "free agent" in the porn biz. Profits are down, productions have declined, and The Love Twin product from Vivid never seemed catch fire on the Bestsellers lists.
Speaking to the broader, business point of view, the departure of the Love Twins is part of Vivid’s house cleaning, because the company had a weak revenue and awards year. It’s like any business during lean times: employees get cut to keep expenses down.
At this point I count only four active Vivid Girls. Vivid seems to have decided to invest in Monique Alexander, Stefani Morgan and new girls Brea Lynn and Kayden Kross. With Savanna Samson and Lanny Barbie on a reduced work schedule, if at all. Tera and Jenna run their own shows. I don’t know where Cassidy fits into the picture.
This will probably mean a lot less product being released by Vivid until, or if, business picks up. And until biz picks up Vivid will keep the number of contract girls to a minimum. If biz picks up, they’ll add some new girls that have star potential. Or, they’ll re-sign a former Vivid Girl or two who may need the money, have no other resources, and return to the biz for a brief comeback, like Janine did a few years ago.
