Fort Lauderdale Sun Sentinel 5/25/91: Millionaire adult entertainment mogul Michael J. Peter, who once said he wanted to "run the cleanest business in the world," was arrested Friday and charged with the kidnapping and extortion of a business rival [who worked for Charles Friedson aka Charley Frey]. Sun Sentinel 2/2494: A jury took only an hour on Wednesday to declare nude-entertainment impresario Michael Peter not guilty of charges that he threatened to use muscle on a business rival who was moving in on his most beautiful dancers. Peter said he was set up by a business rival, a man named Charles Friedson, known as "Charlie Fry," and by a Fort Lauderdale police officer bent on running him out of town. "There are good cops and bad cops, good strip joint operators and bad strip joint operators," Peter said. "This time, the bad cops went after the good strip joint operator." The state's case rested largely on the uncorroborated testimony of the alleged victim, Carmen Cinseruli, who was carrying a gun at the time he was allegedly kidnapped in Peter's white Rolls-Royce in January 1991. Cinseruli was reluctant to press charges after the attack. He testified that Fort Lauderdale Detective Charles Funkey had to call him almost every day for a month before he came in to make a statement that led to Peter's arrest in May 1991. Funkey did not testify in the two-week trial. Sun Sentinel 3/2/96 A former Playboy Playmate says the Broward State Attorney's office is dragging its feet prosecuting her ex-boyfriend on aggravated assault charges because the man is a government witness in the Michael J. Peter racketeering trial in federal court. The trial of Charles Friedson, 35, of Plantation, has been continued at least 19 times during a 3 1/2-year period - a delay even prosecutors admit is unusual. "They were basically hoping that I would forget about it and go away," Melissa Harberson Holliday said. The case against Friedson involves allegations by Holliday that on Jan. 27, 1992, Friedson struck her several times in the face and caused her to hit her head on a table. Holliday said at the time of the fight she was pregnant with Friedson's child. She later miscarried, which she blames on her injuries. 11/8/99: Charley Frey writes about Holliday: "Immediately upon the trial beginning, the entire courtroom realized she was full of s---. If I speak to somebody in Spanish or German, I can't understand inflections well enough to understand if I am being told the truth. I hear that Florida dance agent Charley Frey has a fetish for skinny, and encourages most of his dancers to take diet pills. He supposedly sends many of them literature on diet pills, and gives their addresses to drug companies. He supposedly got Jasmin a prescription for Phen Phen after it was taken off the market for being unsafe. Charley denies all these accusations. Cream seems glad to be rid of Jasmin St. Clair and Charley Frey. I hear that Jasmin, who has long proclaimed that she does not do girls, turned in a girl-girl scene with Shyla Foxxx three years ago that Charley Fox plans to release soon. Jenny, who used to dance at Charley's club in Miami The Mirage, says that Charley runs up large bills with Federal Express and other companies, then changes his [Frey's] company name to get out of paying them. Jenny says that Charley got a dancer pregnant then beat her up until she miscarried. Luke's on a threeway phoner with John Bone, Jenny: John: "Were you f---ing Charley?" Jenny: "A few times… Twice in LA when we shot a movie. I felt it would benefit my career." John: "Let's be clear. Luke is not a nice guy. Jenny: "Yes…And he also tried to prostitute a 16-year old girl [Stephanie aka Jennifer] from Portland, OR, who was dancing in his club at the time. "Charley told me that I was too old to do magazines and that the only way I could become a feature dancer was to do movies." John: "Then he brought her to me." Jenny's husband Dave Michaels comes on the line. He says that he ran Charley's office for six months while living with Frey. Dave: "Gene Ross talked to Jenny and I extensively but nothing that we said was in any of the [AVN] articles he wrote [on Charley Frey]." Dave says Charley threatened to put a gun to his head. "He owed Jenny $1100 for her original boob job. "He asked me to go outside…in the parking lot of 4792 West Commercial Blvd in Fort Lauderdale, FL, 33319. Next thing I hear....he's in contact with a couple of clubs that he booked when he worked for me and is attempting to play booking agent, Of course he's forgetting the extremely enforceable non-compete/non-disclosure agreements that he signed and is right at this moment being sued in court for breaching. As you know, T.Bone has his own warped agenda...evidently still totally infactuated with Kendra; and surely having f---ed Jenny when she went out there...he'll say whatever he thinks will affect me. The truth is...I have been around for over 16 years; and continue to operate successfully - in fact, since Dave has left; my bookings have increased about 20% a week. I am very happy. On a good note....We placed Houston with Metro and she was just on Howard Stern to talk about her doing the HOUSTON 500 gang bang 3 which is getting tremendous media attention... It is so funny to me that people always try and make him look bad, when so far he's the only one who has ever really helped girls become really big stars...he's done alot for me...he's never done anything wrong and from what I know, he's responsible for helping Houston become who she is too. They say it's because it's the summer. A lot of people are doing a lot of business." I talked to Cleopatra Friday afternoon. She's upset that somebody's been sending me emails in her name.
