Abigail Clayton aka Gail Lawrence was an auburn-haired beauty who appeared frequently in late '70s and early '80s hardcore. A large-framed girl with small breasts and a wide butt, she displayed an overbite that gave her an air of youthful innocence, says the Excalibur web site.

Clayton debuted in 1976's Dixie, a coming-of-age story. She also appeared with Leslie Bovee in Sex World. Her best performance probably came in Seven Into Snowy where she turns in one scene with Bonnie Holliday and Christine Heller and another with Paul Thomas. Her other leading movies include Desires Within Young Girls and Naked Afternoons. She retired in 1980 and then returned for a handful of pornos.

Abigail made a small name for herself in the mainstream. She costarred with Gerard Depardieu in Marco Ferreri's Bye Bye Monkey and opposite Joe Spinellie in William Lustig's Maniac.
