Shauna Banks Interview
We speak by phone Wednesday morning, December 29, 2004. Shauna: "Thank for calling me back about the video [Call Girls Undercover 3, it was filmed by Kris Kramsky for Larry Flynt Publications. Shauna and two other performers never got paid.]" How did you get into porn? "I was a personal trainer in San Diego. I answered an ad for bikini modeling [in 2000] and met Regan Senter of Beautiful Models. I don't want to say anything bad about him. He's a little nutty." How was your compliance video? "I didn't do it. I'm probably the only girl that didn't. "Brooke Daze was my best friend. We answered an ad for bikini modeling and went to his house, office, whatever. As soon as we got there, he said, do you guys want to get into porn? I'm open-minded. I said, I'll think about it. "That wasn't what I was expecting. [Brooke] got a phone call and went into the other room. As she was in the other room, he asked me to do the BJ audition. I was like, no way. "I was the aggressive one and Brooke was the shy one. "He said, you have to if you want work. I said, why do you need me to suck your dick? Here's my mouth. Imagine it with a dick in it. "As [Brooke] came out of the bedroom, he posed it to her without me being in the room. With her being more shy, she went ahead and did it. "He put us both on the site. We both got equal amount of work. Ed Powers was our first job. He got us a couple more jobs after that. But then I bought a laptop and a porn directory [from AVN] and got work on my own." Shauna's done about 30 movies. "I moved to Florida about two years ago. I had lived in San Diego for two years. I came back to Florida to visit my mom. While I was here, I decided to work. I did a shoot for MILF Seeker. I fell in love with the MILF Seeker [Jason aka Jay Steele]. Now we're engaged. We've been together since we did that shoot. My stuff is still in storage in San Diego." Did you get implants? "When I was 21. I lost 50 pounds. I was a chunker. I started working out and I lost a bunch of weight. My breasts didn't look up to pay for a 21-year old. I got them done and I had no idea they would lead me here. "My doctor [Goldstein in Florida] was awesome. He said, they're going to be swollen for a couple of months. If you've ever thought about doing porn, you should do it now. "When you turn 21, lose 50 pounds, and get breast implants all within the same year, you tend to lose your mind. I worked at Hooters for a while. I think that's the beginning for all porn stars. You get a taste of the attention." What do you love and hate about the industry? "It's fun. I like to experiment. It's a safe environment where you can do things you'd like to do but you don't want to meet someone on the street and try. I like the attention. I'm over it now. It was something I had to get out of my system. "I don't like that 50% of the producers and directors hate women." When you were a kid, what did you want to be when you grew up? "I wanted to be a veterinarian. When I was six years old, my uncle showed me Madonna in Playboy. From that point on, hmm. It was the wrong time. I loved Madonna. Things like that affect a kid." Were you sexually molested? :"No. I had an awesome childhood. I've just always been an exhibitionist. Since I lost weight. From 16-20, I was chunky. Then I started weight-training and doing cardio every day and everything came off nicely. I felt like I had to show it off." What clique did you hang out with in high school? "I was into country music so I hung out with the hicks. "I moved to San Diego when I was 21. My dad went out there for a job and I followed him." How did your friends and family react to your becoming a porn star? "Not that well. I hadn't spoken to my dad in four years. We've just started emailing each other." Send him some free tapes. "Yeah, right. My mom was not happy but she's always been supportive and open-minded and looked the other way." How do they like Jason? "My dad hasn't met him. My mom likes him." Are you a dancer? "No. I tried that for a month in San Diego. It wasn't for me. I'm not a hustler." Do you prefer California or Florida? "I love California but I got into too much trouble out there." What sort of trouble? "I'd rather not say. There's just a lot of temptation out there. In Florida, I'm nice and normal. California was out of control. It takes a lot of will power to be out there and not go buck-wild. I don't have that kind of will power." Has porn affected your view of men? "Not really. Porn is honest. Everybody thinks about things. The only difference is that we do it on camera. It's affected my views on sex. All that period of having free crazy wild sex. Now I don't fool around. I got it out of my system. "My husband no longer does MILF Seeker. He does VIP and a couple of other sites." Does that bother you? "Not really. Sometimes. Here and there. If the girl is really hot and younger than me, I might get jealous. I'd rather be involved with someone who does it openly and plainly and gets paid for it than someone who lies to me and does it behind my back like 90% of the men I've met.
