Pete Cash Interview

I get a phone call at 9:26 pm Tuesday, 5/17/05, from Pete Cash, who's been doing post-production in porn since 1995. He's from Hungary. He was the executive producer on the Smash Pictures' movie Under Pimp Arrest.

Pete: "We met Mr. Johnson when Pimpfomation was made. We did the post-production, editing, and DVD authoring. I met him a couple of times. I didn't have any bad impression about the guy. But reading this article [my earlier interview with Mr. Johnson] is bad. Let me set the record straight.

"It was $400 that was stolen, not $3,000. We didn't have time to create fake money. It was changing hands in the scene as the customer paid the hooker. One of the guys would hand it to Amenah [Blu].

About an hour after that the scene was done, we found the security camera. We were able to see on the tape when the money changed hands during the scene. Later, it was put into the drawer of the nightstand by the male talent at the direction of Martin Del Toro. Then people were going in and out of the room after the scene was done. The money was forgotten in the drawer. A few hours later, we remembered to collect it. It was gone.

"What Bishop said was true -- Mr. Johnson had nothing to do with producing or directing the movie [Under Pimp Arrest]. He was told everything he had to do. He only came up with those 10-15 lines he was rapping between the sex scenes. He got the script two weeks before the production and he only needed a couple of corrections and suggestions, most of them irrelevant, such as, 'A ho can not tell the pimp to shut up.'

"The gentleman who directed the movie, Martin Del Toro, wanted to walk off the set in the middle [of shooting Under Pimp Arrest]. He had no help from Mr. Johnson controlling difficult situations on set.

"Mr. Johnson showed up two hours late. He came with a crew of all kinds of people. He's got a big extended family. They brought drugs and alcohol. They were smoking and I don't know what else... He was walking up and down with a Jack Daniels bottle in his hand. By the end of the day, he got so drunk. Every time his part came up, somebody had to run around the location and look for him. He was either in a room with his crew drinking and smoking, trying to recruit the female talent to work for him as a hooker.

"Before his every scene, he had to be reminded again and again what the scenario was and what he is supposed to say. Once he was told, he went about the part like the energizer bunny, cranking out the same lines and rhymes over and over again.

"Mr. Johnson was always promoting himself in the kitchen, in the livingroom, on the patio, wherever he could gather an audience. We were constantly asking him to keep it down. Unlike him, we considered the location our workplace. Martin Del Toro had to scream every five minutes -- 'Shut up!' At that point, he wanted to walk out."

Duke: "Who is Jean Louise?"

Pete: "He is my business partner. He acted as the production manager on the set. He handled the money and he organized everything.

"He had a meeting with Mr. Johnson. He showed him the budget. Mr. Johnson was under the impression that if there was any money left from the budget, he was getting paid more. He was very disappointed that this was not true. He doesn't care if the movie is successful or not. All he cares is that he gets paid add Amenah gets paid (much more than the industry rate).

"Amenah wasn't up to the standards of a movie like this. She's not well-known. She's not the best-looking girl. He said that Amenah had to be in the movie or there is no deal. She did a nasty scene but the other girls in the movie are much better known. You can not put her on the same page with Angel Eyes or Sidney Capri or Beauty.

"Amenah wanted to be paid some outrageous amount of money. She would've had to have done several scenes to get that kind of money."

Duke: "Mr. Johnson must have some talent to get these movies made. What does he bring to the table?"

Pete: "His talk. I don't dispute his talent. He has a personality that people can relate to. He looks like a real pimp. I imagine that people like him and that he can be really successful in it.

"As far as who was the real macoy behind Under Pimp Arrest, it wasn't Mr. Johnson. I had to go looking for him every couple of hours. He created no respect from the talent by acting unprofessionally. I don't want to get involved in another follow-up to that movie."

Pete says the missing $400 came out of his pocket and Jean Louis's.

"By the way, Gabor paying $1,5000 to Amenah for a blowjob is hilarious! You have no idea how conscious he is about where he spends his money."
