Photo of Lynton Appleson

April 25, 2007

I call Rob Spallone Wednesday to check on the veracity of one story I heard.

Rob: "[About four years ago] I sold Lynton a bunch of masters of my fathers. I said, 'You can pay me in a few weeks. They're not exclusive. I sold them to a few people.' He owed me about $19,000.

"I've been friendly with Bill. I've known him since he worked out of his car. "Now he was a big shot supposedly. He had this big company.

"About two months later, he calls me up and says, 'Rob, I changed my mind.' The same thing that Joseph and Rita [Shemesh of Factory Home Video] did to me about ten years ago. They made Sal Sodano their editor. He copied all my masters. Then a month later they told me they changed their mind and want to give it back. "It didn't work out for them too good.

"Bill says, 'I just bought a bunch of stuff from Danny Mamaine for a dollar. Why should I buy the masters?' I said, so you can cut them up. "I told him I didn't want to hear a thing. I called him a Jew. "He got up from behind his desk. He said, 'You called me a Jew?' He pushed me.

"I then threw him to the ground and choked him out. I said, 'I'll be back in a few hours. I want my money.'

"He called my mother and said that if I come back, he'll have the cops come.

"I come the next day. There's the other Israeli guy, Chaim Cohen. He had a big one-stop on De Soto. Chaim says, what's the problem?

"I ended up getting my money. That proved to me that Chaim Cohen owns VIP, not Bill Lynton."

I believe that Appleson owed $50,000 dollars to Chaim, who was the mastermind behind the bootleg of Anabolic's product. Chaim then took over VIP, because Nymph was tarnished. Chaim had a company called NYMPH pictures located on Nordoff. Lynton was and is very tight with Chaim. Lynton used Chaim to make his four hour videotape compilations that got digitized for DVD. When Lynton could not pay up, Chaim took VIP as payment. Many porners seem to think that Lynton still is the sole owner of VIP, but Lynton only the front man. He is a puppy to Chaim. Many porners don't trust Chaim and won't sell to him. Chaim got Appleson to buy product, take his share of the load and then sell the rest to Chaim. Vivid was one of the companies that refused selling to Chaim. Appleson’s companies are Underground Entertainment, Robert Hill Entertainment, and Overlord Management. Overlord use to be registered in Las Vegas , however, Lynton failed to pay the fees and his license was revoked. You can find that information on the website Secretary State of Nevada. Look up his name. His mother's name is Ruth Appleson, and she was the treasurer. The revoking all happened in 2002, at the same time as he was served by a lawsuit by Anabolic/Diabolic. Appleson’s CPA had his license revoked due to the mess.

Phil Provenzano is a hothead. He looks like a Marx brother. Phil works in the same building as Mitchell Weston, aka Mitchell Spinelli. (Mitch’s uncle is the famous actor Jack Weston, featured movies such as Dirty Dancing, Four Season.) Phil got busted one night leaving Appleson’s building with an ‘eight ball’ in his pocket, he ended up doing time in a halfway house, worked with Mitch. Phil had a contact in Germany, he bought a bakers dozen masters for Appleson, took the thirteenth reel and released it under his own label. So Appleson made Provenzano money, without knowing it. Although he did find out, but kept cool about it. Then things got worse when Appleson bought scenes from Spinelli. Phil pissed and moaned about it and thought Appleson would go away. Phil and Spinelli was producing those hot 4 hrs that people loved buying, and once Appleson got his hands on the scenes he could make them himself and the fat money Phil was making went out the door. It eventually did, and that is how the bad blood between them began. Appleson found out how much he was overcharged, and then it all went south. (Pictured is Phil Provenzano, who rides with a 9 mm in his car.)

On this picture: A) is the mark for Appleson’s business C) is the mark for Chaim’s business. I do not know if he is still in that building.

NYT writes:

Did you hear about the time when Lynton Appleson screwed Spallone on a deal. Phil Provenzano, Lynton's former 'best friend' that works with Mitch Weston, was in his office and in through the door Spallone busts, gets up on the desk and grabs Lynton and pins him to his leather chair, threatens to kill Lynton. If you are tight with Spallone you can ask him about it, Phil wouldn't lift a finger, just tried to calm down Spallone, until Rosie his secretary got in there and grab him and through him out. It’s been said that a company in Wijchen, Netherlands called Multistock BV invested in marketing the Robert Hill label for €100,000 euros (equivalent to $136,470 as of today). The investment could have led to a ‘positive’ look upon the Robert Hill label, however, that did not happened instead, the Robert Hill brand was released all over Europe, while instead being an exclusive brand, it just became the ordinary rubbish that Mr. Appleson releases, and “whores” out the product left to right to make a quick buck. One must start to ask if there wasn’t some form of word of an agreement between Multistock and Robert Hill Entertainment, and why a company would spend that kind of money on a brand if there weren’t any guarantees in return. One can only speculate, however Mr. Appleson has made a name for himself, and is notorious in creating scandalous affairs. While he lost his case against Chris @ Anabolic, he bravely bragged about the amount he had to pay, hmm, was that to say that it wasn't enough, or that he could pay out, well he should have been able to pay to since he is sitting on a few fat offshore accounts. Wouldn't IRS like to know. He was so eager to get rid off Rosie his accountant, when he hired on another accountant working side by side with Rosie this year to fix his books. Even the new accountat gave Lynton her ten cents about how she like to be treated, and she did voice herself that he wasn't a man of his words. Rosie had no idea what was going on, and suddenly she was out. It was all in Lynton's little master plan for his new accountant to see what Rosie was doing, and he was afraid that Rosie would fuck things up for him. A lot of customers that bought products from Lynton, bought cash-in-hand, a invoice number was created while the books were open year after year. So when the buyer came by with 'cash' the invoice was erased, but the invoice number remaind, and assigned to another buyer that bought with check. He could only do this while the books were open. However, this year he probably have had visits from different govermental departments and decided to clean up his 'mess'. That doesn't mean that he is going legit.

Lynton Appelson is an Englishman notorious for his dodgy ways. Rob Ragan was the sales guy for White Tiger Releasing (gay). At the very least they shared an office with Lynton (Robert Hill, etc.). Rob abruptly left WTR last month... I can only assume he and Lynton had a falling out.

Naomi Ragan emails:

Lynton, Let me start off by saying that I am sending this letter without Rob's knowing. But I feel that there are definitely somethings about this situation that NEED to be straighted out. See Rob is such a good guy. I have asked him actually pleaded with him to defend himself and to let people especially the studios know what kind of a person you really are. But HE absolutely refuses to do that. So guess what, Lets let the studios know the real truth about what happened this week and in the past year that Rob has worked for you. Studios please read this entire letter and as the old saying goes "BUYER BE WARE!" I am absolutely devastated that you would have the audacity to call up every one of the studios associated with White Tiger and out and out LIE to them about what happened. You somehow seemed to have left all the REAL facts out of your version of the story. How DARE you EVER call me up and raise your voice to me. I am not now nor have I ever been one of your employees nor have i been anything but NICE to you. Lynton somehow you forgot to tell the studios that you yelled at me because Rob was sleeping. When Rob called you up because you yelled at me, You called Rob a Fucking Cunt. Again, How Dare You. But again Lynton, somehow you forgot to tell people that, In fact you went so far as to LIE to Bill from HDK and tell him that you "never talked to Rob" that is an exact quote. You are a LIAR! Not only did you talk to Rob 1 hour after you yelled at me but you called him and started screaming at Rob calling him a Fucking Cunt and said "you have a company to run you piece of shit" That is an EXACT QUOTE. Yet Lynton when you played Robs messages to you on your cell phone did you forget to mention those things? I offer for you to provide a copy of your phone bill to PROVE to Bill at HDK that you didn't call Rob. But then again Lynton if you were to supply Bill with the phone bill, Bill would see that you Lied to him. And you couldn't have that. The truth is Lynton that you are nothing more then a common liar and thief as evident by your business practices. (I.E. Anabolic there lawsuit against you that they WON!!!!) And didn't you just last week by American Excess on a "back door" deal? I am absolutely SURE that they would LOVE to find out how you were able to get that product from Jeff Krull for such a low price when there product sells for $12 a piece. Do you think the IRS would like to know also? Lynton did you forget that for 3 weeks straight Rob did nothing but work and did you forget that he started having problems with his wisdom tooth at least 1 1/2 weeks BEFORE Orlando? The infection from his abscess got so bad that they gave him a Z-Pack. That is the strongest antibiotic available. But somehow you forgot to tell the studios that because of Robs Work schedule he was unable to have it looked it. That is also not including the fact that you knew that financially he wasn't able to have it taken care of. Lynton how many times did you PROMISE Rob that he was getting a percentage of White Tiger? I heard you say it at least twice. Once back in May when you were talking with Rob in Your office and I was sitting on the couch still pregnant with our son. The second time was back in Las Vegas when we were standing around the circle bar with Rachel and Justin the buyer from Metro. Why didn't that happen Lynton? Is it the same reason that you are presently being sued by how many different companies because you refuse to pay people what you owe them? In fact I offer for any and ALL of the studios to please contact Dreamgirls and ask them why they presently have a lawsuit against Lynton? Then maybe the studios will find out what kind of a person you really are Lynton. And since we are going to talk about money for a moment, Lynton back in September you took a look at Robs Sales for the week. Unfortunately he had a slow week and his commission (if you paid him commission) would have been 750.00. Because of that you told Rob that from now on he was working on commission and that you would LOVE to be writing him checks every week for 3000.00. Well, the next week came and Robs commission check was 2,953.00 Why did you only give him his normal pay amount? How could you look at him and scoff and say "I'm not paying you that, your not making more then I do!" Lynton, again YOU LIED! And why don't you tell Colleen and Kurt that the product they are selling for you everyday to stores that You and Rachel are marking everything up AT LEAST .50 a piece? You really do enjoy screwing everyone over. I mean Lynton common now these two work hard for you every day, day after day and yet you are screwing them every week out of commission that they are rightfully due. So see it isn't just Rob that you lie cheat and steal from it is ALL of your employees with the exception of Rachel. But of course that's your girl....God if it wasn't for Rob you would have never even met her. So much has happened in the past year that Rob has worked for you. Did he not help you get your company situated for the labor board when you were being sued by Rosy? You had so much cover up to do because though in some ways Rosy was absolutely Wrong, but Lynton you and I both Know that in most complaints with Rosy she was right and that is why you scrambled to get things together. Didn't Rob also help you when you were Raided by the FBI? From what I hear that situation isn't over yet is it? You absolutely have some nerve talking about Rob and work ethics. You don't know what work ethics are. I hope that your studios are aware that they are dealing with someone who has been convicted of DISTRIBUTION OF CHILD PORNOGRAPHY!!! Yes I am referring to Ruby Gottesman. Yes, that's right, he is one of the people that went down for selling Tracy Lord Product. In fact even AFTER Ruby found out that he was selling CHILD PORN he STILL continued to sell it. You knew all about his past Lynton and STILL hired him. I mean common now when the FBI raided your warehouse didn't it tell you something when Ruby ran out the back door as fast as he could shuffle? Yet that is the kind of person you are Lynton. And what about the Drinking of alcohol in your office with Rachel? I've seen that too. And why do you allow people to smoke marijuana at the office? Do you not have any sort of work ethics? Doug, Bill, Rocky, Harlan and David...Please take warning and be fully aware of what kind of person you are dealing with. Lynton has made each and every one of you promises and me personally I can care less what you decide. But this is LYNTON APPLESON PLEASE feel free to go to the GVN or AVN and do a search on all articles regarding Lynton Appleson, VIP Services or Robert Hill Releasing There you will find out that LONG and extensive history of Mr. Appleson has and what kind of business man he REALLY is!!!! Sincerely, Naomi Ragan PS. I hope that all the studios are aware that Rob had to fight with Lynton MONTHLY so that your checks would get to you guys. David, How many times has Lynton changed the contract on you and how many times did you call Rob up screaming because Lynton hadn't paid you yet? Bill, You might want to look back on Lyntons payment schedule to you and when you received your checks because You and I both know that you didn't receive them when your contract says you were supposed to.
Rob Ragan emails April 24:
Luke, My name is Robert Ragan. I am the guy that created White Tiger Releasing. It has been brought to my attention that yesterday you posted a personal letter that my wife wrote to Lynton Appleson in reguards to things that transpired over the last year between he and I. I am however puzzled as to how you obtained that letter in the first place. Not that it really matters at this point one way or another. What's done is done and I can't change and absolutely refuse to dwell on the past. I just find it ironic that I had a conversation with another web columnist just yesterday stating that I was glad that didn't get out. I'm not a drama kind of guy and just want to move on. Thankfully I've received a VERY flattering responce from the industry and things are going to work out alot better than I even hoped when I made the decision to walk away from what was mine to begin with. For whatever it's worth Mr Appleson isn't the best at keeping his word...given ! I just had a very, very valuable lesson taught to me....that's all. Not for nuthin' Luke but I would love very much to know who provided you with that information. I promise that in no way will I be angry with the individual, I just want to make sure of something.

A source writes:

Let's go back the time a few years… Vicky started to work for LA Ent. in August 1998 as the assistant to the accountant, Liza. Vicky answered phones and did the filing, however, Liza wouldn't let Vicky do any kind of accounting. I guess Liza thought that if Vicky was taught anything more than simple things that she would be replaceable. After a while, Liza gave in and she let Vicky do more and more things.

In the office, Lynton had a national sales manager, Engle. He was a wolf in sheep's clothing in many people's minds. He was the most dishonest and back stabbing person around. Engle talked shit about people behind their backs. In Engle's warped mind everybody were assholes, cunts, or any one of a number of cute but demeaning names he had. He only liked people he did business with. Lynton and Engle had the same philosophy; you are only good as long as you are needed. He had a track record of being a lousy businessman. Before he started to work for Lynton, he'd run his own business, but it didn't do too well and he ended up running it into the ground. After that, he couldn't hold a regular job with regular pay anywhere because he owed a pot full of money to the IRS. Engle had a contract with Lynton, but no one was certain about what it contains. All anyone knew is that it guaranteed Engle a pay of $1,400 per week, whether or not he made a sale. He received commission on top of that.

Engle's paycheck was written out in his wife's name so that the IRS could not find him and garnish his wages for the money he owed on his previous business. His wife worked on the set of a big, well-known TV-sitcom; she was a hideous croak who looked more like his mother than his wife. They had no kids, only a dog that was treated better than any human being.

Let's move forward to January of 2000. There had been the yearly adult film convention show in Las Vegas over the weekend. Lynton and his little entourage were back in town. Everybody that is, except for one, Engle. At the show, Lynton had made some business and was paid in cash. Engle had taken care of the money, $4,000 in cash. Now he was gone and so was the money. After a couple days passed with no word from Engle and no luck in contacting him, Vicky made calls to Sheriff's department, the Police, and the morgue, but no Engle. Friday comes and Engle finally shows up. Liza is pissed because she knows that Engle took the money and she has a feeling that he does not have it anymore.

Engle and Lynton have a meeting in his office behind closed doors. Lynton is mad as Engle gives his "feel sorry for me" performance. He knows that Engle is an idiot, but he needs him for the clients he has. It's a Catch 22, damned if you do, damned if you don't situation. Lynton knows he'll have to just deal with it because Engle sells for him but he also has a lot of baggage. Engle's problems were many, drugs, gambling, and booze to name a few. This was his cup of tea, a dark and deceitful life. So expecting the money back was a fantasy at best for Lynton.

At the end of the day, Lynton held a staff meeting in the warehouse. Lynton, the shippers, Vicky, Cindy, who also worked in the front office, Liza, Engle, and the rest of his sales people were there. Liza was furious about Engle's behavior. She was a true refrigerator, ice cold. She hated men so much that it made one wonder if she was a dike. Cindy, who worked with Liza and Vicky, was bit of a butch. She didn't make a secret of her homosexuality. Vicky didn't feel comfortable around her ever since Cindy made a pass at her. That was the end of normal co-worker treatment.

At the meeting, Liza didn't make it a secret of what she felt about Engle and his despicable act with the money. She flat out asked him, "Where is the money", but Engle didn't say anything. Liza started to raise her voice and she called him a thief repeatedly while she waved her index finger back and forth in Engle's face. She got a little bit too close and her finger ended up in Engle's mouth. There was only so much Engle could tolerate and he got mad, so mad that he clamped his hands around Liza's neck and started to choke her. He shook her back and forth and was about to finish her off once and for all. Everybody just stood there and watched this go on. Vicky and Cindy jumped on Engle in order to get him to release Liza. Engle let go of Liza and she ran into the front office to call the police. While she was making the call, Engle coached everybody in the warehouse on what to say when the police arrived. Vicky told him that there was no way in hell that she was going to lie to the police regarding what had happened. She realized that if that could happen to Liza it could easily happen to her.

Liza quit that same day and Vicky took over the accounting position for LA Ent. Lynton told Vicky that the money that Engle "confiscated", so to speak, was to be deducted through his paycheck every week until it was paid back in full. Vicky was not signing the checks but they were posted in the checkbook and, from time to time, she got a chance to review the check register. To her surprise there was no money being deducted from Engle's paycheck every week, not a dime. Engle was getting his full salary of $1,400 every week. This little charade caused Vicky to get her own opinion about Lynton. She began calling him "Styrofoam balls", because every time something happened Lynton said that he was going to take care of things, but when push came to shove, he crumbled like a Styrofoam ball. In other words, he had no balls. Lynton relied too much on others to do his job. He was not a very good manager or CEO and was too much of a micro manager. He cared little about the day-to-day operations of his company.

He was doing many things himself, things that he had hired people to do for him. Under this strange business model, he had others doing his duties as the head of the company while he did many of the tasks his secretary, production crew, sales people, and accountants were hired to do. He paid everybody lousy wages. Every two weeks people were paid with a regular payroll check and in between, they were paid cash so he wouldn't have to pay the payroll taxes on the wages. He made his employees come to him in his office and ask for their paycheck every week, he never simply handed them out on Friday. Lynton thought that the people should be grateful for getting cash and they shouldn't complain if their payday stretched from Friday well into the next week.

One time a situation occurred after Lynton had struck a deal with a Sam Shaft to purchase some masters. The deal was that Lynton would pay half of the agreed upon price up front and the remaining half upon delivery of the masters. However, when Sam returned to deliver the masters and pick up the balance of the money, Lynton changed his mind and was no longer willing to pay the remaining amount due. Sam was furious, took his masters, and left the building with Lynton on his tail. The entire time Lynton was desperately trying to reason with the Sam.

Outside the building, Lynton and Sam started to play tug-of-war with the box of masters. After a few moments of this childish display, Sam eventually won the battle and placed the box in the back of his truck. While they were fighting over the masters, Rosie had quietly come outside and neither of them noticed her. While Lynton and Sam talked about the deal, Rosie ran up to the truck, took the box, and ran back inside Lynton's office. What happened next is another story.

So, the problem with Lynton was that he did cutthroat business deals and that was not very "healthy" for him or his company. His company was called the "the whore" because he whored out products at such low prices that nearly no one could compete with him (Well there was one, but he was working with Lynton. The company on Nordhoff St. was called Nymph., but not too many people knew how close they were working with Lynton.). He bought product in the thousands in order to get a deal and then turned around and sold it at rock bottom prices that gave him a very low profit margin. Lynton was known by other names too. When voices were raised between Lynton and his colleagues in the industry, he was called a "Jewish mother fucker" and many other derogatory things. He made a lot of enemies, more enemies than friends to be exact. His so-called friends were only diplomatic to his face, but, as soon as he turned around and walked the other way, he was everything but a man in their eyes.

Vicky was on the phone with her hairdresser, he was a Hollywood-type who had worked on NBC soap operas as a makeup artist, even won an Emmy, but now he had opened his own little styling business in his home. Tonight he was going to come by the office and buy some products. He used to sell to some of the local stores in order to make some extra money.

Vicky introduced him to me and we talked for quiet a while. It turned out that he was of European descent like me. He offered to cut my hair and I took him up on his offer. A few days later Vicky and I had our hair done at his house.

At his house, he showed me pictures of him dressed up as a drag queen and pictures from other photo shoots that he had done posing as a woman. He also posed as a man in shoots for various modeling agencies. This man was a multi-sexual who could fool any camera lens. He was simply an adorable man with an extraordinary female face who could be sexy and charming either as a male or female. Vicky and I were laughing because we thought it would be a kick if we sent Lynton a picture of him as a woman. We would say that "she" was my girlfriend Vanessa. I scanned the picture into my computer at home and prepared for some fun.

I knew that Lynton had issues with the women he dated because they knew what he was doing for living and no one liked him for anything but his money. Lynton had learned that if he wanted to attract the attention of a woman all he had to do was flash some cash and spend, spend, spend. It was pathetic, but it was the best he could do and that made him less than happy. Yes, money can buy you companionship if you are lonely, but it can't buy you love.

I held back a bit after sending the picture to Lynton. A few days after sending the picture to Lynton, I finally asked him in a casual manner what he thought of my girlfriend. He had no idea. Lynton asked me if he could meet her and I said that I would ask her if she could stop by the office just to say "hi". He thought Vanessa was hot and started asking me all sorts of questions about her. The little devil in me came out and I laughed to myself because Lynton had fallen for our little practical joke – hook, line, and sinker. I called Vanessa later on and asked him if he was willing to play our little game and if he would come by the office and say "hello" to Lynton. He said that he was going to have to think about it. It was a big task to try and fool Lynton, but the pleasure would be seeing his face when he found out that he got a boner over another man. Unfortunately for us, but fortunately for Lynton, Vanessa declined to play our game.

When you entered Lynton's office, he usually had his feet thrown up on the desk and he was constantly rubbing his balls and his jock. I asked him once to knock it off and he simply laughed it off and said that it itched. I asked him if he had the crabs, but he didn't say anything and tried to ignore my statement. I bet he did, with all the girls he had running in and out of in his office all the time I wondered when he ever had the chance to wipe off his groin.

I was laughing and thinking how naive the "little twit" (Lynton's pincushion sales rep in the office) was who he fucked in his leisure time. Maybe she was scratching too. I never paid too much attention, but maybe I should have. He didn't have too much respect for the girls that were in his movies either. One day he was watching a scene that Stefon had shot in which a young girl did a double penetration scene. Lynton really enjoyed backdoor sex and requested anal scenes most of the time. Stefon and Lynton sat and watched the raw footage. Lynton was laughing because the girl was in so much pain. I said, "What the hell are you laughing at, can't you see that she is in pain?"

"Oh come on." he said, she is just a whore.

I said, "That whore is the reason you are making money!" and I left. I was thinking how he would feel having his butt reamed wide open, but maybe he did from time to time. He was a deviant.

Let me describe Lynton for you. He has tar black, slicked back hair that he keeps in a girlish ponytail. The spud is about five foot six in heals, and wears a gold chain around his neck. He has a gay look over him most of the time, but he seemed to like girls. Maybe he was bisexual. Well, one can only speculate, but he sure was anal infatuated and that should ring some bells.

Chris Walsh was also supplying all sorts of things, hot naturally, to Lynton. For example, he provided Lynton with stolen equipment. One day, he came in with a yellow forklift truck, but there was no bill of sale, no receipt, and no questions. Not only was he providing warehouse equipment, he was also one of the suppliers from who Lynton got his drugs.

Drugs also came in on the daily lunch truck that came by twice a day. I remembered hearing Rosie scream in the speaker, "LUNCH TRUCK! THE LUNCH TRUCK IS HERE!" I looked at my watch and it was only around ten in the morning. The truck may have been early for lunch, but it was right on time for its "alternate" purpose. Lynton would get his Styrofoam lunch box from the truck and in-between his napkin and the box was his side order, in the form of speed, pot, or whatever else he had bought. Yes, a "Styrofoam lunch box" for "Styrofoam balls", how appropriate. Maybe I was wrong and it was not a lunch truck after all, maybe it was a mobile pharmacy. Who knows? Either Rosie or George Washington, (another sales employee), as we called him, went out to the lunch truck and brought back Lynton's supercharged ordered.

Rosie was not much better than Lynton was; she sat there and did a line, two, or twelve at her desk. She used to bring in small quarter bags of speed and provided Lynton with some. She was not too discreet about it and would even forget to wipe her nose after inhaling her lunch. Everyone could see that she was doing drugs at her desk. Yes, the lunch truck outside LA Ent. came with packages of white powder, but it was not creamer for the coffee.

Rosie's husband was suspicious of her behaviors because she had done drugs in the past and had pledged to her husband that she was a good girl and did not do drugs any more. She was an awful woman who was cheating on her husband with other men on her lunch break. She had her 17-year-old daughter sit in the car and wait for her while she got her booty slammed. Rosie had an affair with Chris Walsh too. She constantly complained that her husband did not want sex with her and she had to have it, no matter who it was from. The first time she got caught fooling around was a time when Vicky had had enough of her and was going to tell Rosie's husband everything, but Rosie decided to come clean with her husband on her own. After that, she went to counseling for her infidelity. She said that after all this had died down that she would go back and continue seeing the other men, especially Dirk, the one she used to hump during her lunch breaks.

A point that I would like to make based on my experiences is that the people in this industry are not to be trusted. I still hold this belief even after being a part of this industry. Remember, this is an industry where the norms include stealing from partners and competitors alike, rampant backstabbing, the using of others to meet one's own needs, creating constant rumors about everything and everyone, and taking advantage of the actors and actresses. The adult film industry may be a legal business on the surface, but simply poke your head beneath the shiny surface and you'll find a teaming underworld thriving on the dreams of others and a world filled with smiling predatory who eat, drink, and breath corruption.

You think you know someone and you really do not. It's a classic example of this schizophrenic industry; it presents one "normal" face to the outside world and another dark and wicked face within it's own seedy world. There are no "perfectly normal" people anywhere in this industry and if you think that there are, then you are a fool.

To anyone out there who wants to be a part of this industry I have one piece of advice; this is a one-way street going in the wrong direction, so stay off it. Know this, no one is your friend, and no one will stretch out that hand you need when you are deep down in the mud. They will ignore your pleas for help as they walk right over you leaving you and your shattered dreams scattered about behind them. It is all for one and one for none industry. In other words, the needs of the one outweigh the needs of the many; no one covers anyone's back and there is no honor amongst thieves. This is a thief's paradise and nothing more.

What you have just read about Lynton Appleson is not a unique story about this industry; however unique that he still is in business, this is how things actually are and will continue to be. One thing it does tell me; this industry is only good to the few privileged czars who sit at the top of the heap. Yes, this is modern-day feudalism in practice, complete with individual fiefdoms, lords, and peasants. This industry has no conscious whatsoever and I do not expect any time soon that it will grow one either, it is as I said earlier, a cutthroat business.

From my November 2005 file:

One Israeli named Chaim (DVD Concepts) was a major target. Chaim is close (partners in things?) with Bill Linton aka Lynton Appleson (British Jew) of VIP, who also owns Robert Hill Entertainment. A source at DVDConcepts emphatically denies any wrongdoing on the part of his company and says he has the contracts to prove that everything the company does is legitimate. Federal marshals met at the Lamplighter in Chatsworth at 4pm Monday. The raids went down around 7:50pm. Zev at IVI and Danni at Skura (L&M Optical West) were also raided. Evil Angel filed a piracy suit against Alon Nottea and his DVD Concepts

May 2, 2005. I believe these raids had something to do with Jill Kelly Productions (JKP). JKP and Bob Friedland signed deals, I've been told, so that if certain DVD companies such as DVDConcepts, are not paid in full, then the DVD companies have the right to resell their merchandise. JKP filed for bankruptcy a few months ago and owed many people money (including replicators -- perhaps DVDConcepts -- hundreds of thousands of dollars).

"I used to do cash deals with Lynton," says a source. "He used to sell me DVDs from all these companies for a buck or two bucks each. Of course he stole from all these companies. I didn't care. I sold them for $19:99.

"Do you know who introduced me to Lynton? Mike Esposito."

Lynton, who has a long ponytail and looks like he has hair transplants, is just the front man for Chaim for VIP. Lynton is fond of wearing cowboy boots and often looks greasy. He is partners with a guy in New York. An email to DVDConcepts through its website bounced back Monday night. Nov 16, 2005 court order. Nov 28, 2005 court order.

Gene Ross reports 11/23/05:

Porn Valley- Acting on a tip, US Marshals raided the offices of DVD Concepts and IVI Monday afternoon. They found approximately 20,000 pieces of pirated Jill Kelly Productions product at DVD Concepts. According to sources, the raid began around noon and finished up around 10 at night. The confiscated pieces were then turned over to JKP. Officials also seized masters for 77 titles which were on a silver disc. "That means the discs were stamped in machine. They weren't burned, so they weren't blue discs," a source told Adultfyi. "Those silver discs had no disc art on them which was one of the dead ringers. Aside from that, the sleeves were obviously scanned on a color scanner. "Basically IVI [the replicator] had no right to mass produce any unauthorized product from Jill Kelly," the source went on to say. "But they did and they sold them to Chaim at DVD Concepts and Chaim then commenced to move them the last two weeks all over the country." Tuesday is the first hearing in the case involving Zev from IVI and business associate Chaim from DVD Concepts. There were no arrests made Monday. "The stuff was all over the streets," the source continued. "The move that they made was a dumb one. Jill Kelly has been relatively dormant, so this company [Chaim] decides to ship out hundreds of thousands of pieces. They've been selling these titles for as little 95 cents and as much as a $1.25. They moved mass amounts of pieces. And most of the customers who bought them, bought them knowing there was a problem because JKP would never have sold them at those prices."
11/28/05 David Woodman writes for AVN:
LOS ANGELES - For over a week, Jill Kelly Productions and companies DVD Concepts, International Video Innovation, Inc and L&M Optical have been embroiled in a messy legal battle over thousands of videos from Jill Kelly Productions. A spokesman for Jill Kelly Productions alleges that the product is “pirated.” Meanwhile, DVD Concepts and IVI, Inc. maintain it has the “legal right” to sell the videos. Last week, a team of U.S. Marshals seized, based on a court order, videotapes from the offices of DVD Concepts, IVI and the other companies/individuals named in the temporary restraining order. “Since joining Jell Kelly Productions last September, I have run into many, many cases of our current customers buying videos from Jill Kelly Productions at a huge discount,” said Jeff Krull, the former director of sales for JKP, who as of Monday was no longer with the company. "My customers told me that they bought new and old titles at a cheap price. “I let my bosses know that non-authentic product was out on the streets. My bosses immediately sought legal actions." Alon Notea, president of Chatworth-based DVD Concepts, said, “All of our Jill Kelly product is legitimate. “The person who I bought the videos from had the legal right to sell it to me. He showed me an agreement signed by former Jill Kelly Productions CEO Bob Friedland. The document gives us that legal right." AVN.com also spoke with Zeev Lavy of International Video Innovation. He confirmed the existence of a letter from Friedland giving the right to sell the videos. Danni Skura, consultant to L&M Optical, said, “We had nothing to do with this. ... We will find out more in court tomorrow and see just what happens.” Skura said an attorney representing L&M Optical will be in court Tuesday.
2/10/06 From Xbiz.com:
Shortly after its filing, JKP asked the court to serve injunctions against a number of distribution companies from selling several of its masters. Court documents named International Video Innovation Inc., L&M Optical Disc West LLC, DVD Concepts, Direct Video, Dara Distributors, Easy Bay Inc., Mallcom Inc., Triple A Video, Zeev Lavy, Danni Skura and Alon Notea as defendants. Additionally, a court order required International Video Innovation to turn over 6,000 copies of JKP videos to the U.S. Marshal.
Hollywood To Fight E-Piracy In Court? From AVN.com 5/17/04:

“With large-scale involvement of organized crime in the international replication and export of pirated DVDs and the large and rapidly growing threat of Internet piracy, the very future of the filmed entertainment industry and other copyright industries is at stake,” [Jack Valenti] told the subcommittee. “We are receiving a consistent message that promising leads in intellectual property cases are not being pursued because of a lack of trained tech-savvy investigators who are familiar with how to conduct intellectual property investigations,” he added.

CSI - Cum Scene Investigation

A couple of years ago, a Hollywood producer had a bright idea. His Hollywood career wasn't going anywhere. He decided he'd make some pornos ripping off the TV series CSI (Crime Scene Investigation). His angle was Cum Scene Investigation.

The Hollywood producer was a big gambler. He knew ex-pornographer Peter Kinsler from Las Vegas. Peter hooked up the producer with Lynton Appleson (Linton Applegate) of VIP.

Lynton, who has a long ponytail and looks like he has hair transplants, is just the front man for VIP. The owner is the Israeli Chaim. What's Chaim's last name? And the name of his other company down the street from VIP?

Lynton doesn't have many friends in the industry. A lot of people say he ripped them off.

The producer paid Lynton $16,000 to make two porn movies. Lynton spent $4200, hiring a big black guy (Stefon Morris, now goes by "Dirk" on Harlemwhores.com) to shoot one movie at Randy DeTroit's house.

Then Lynton the producer that he'd already spent over $16,000 and couldn't afford to make another movie. The one movie he did make was the worst porn movie ever, according to the producer.

One day a couple of hulking African-American gentlemen show up to Lynton's VIP office and threaten to kill him. They have a gun. They throw him around the office.

The Hollywood producer goes soft and decides not to kill Linton.

Still, everything has been captured on security video. The secretary calls the LAPD who show up quickly.

The LAPD calls the Hollywood producer. Things get ugly until Linton agrees to drop charges.

The next day, Chris Walsh, calls the Hollywood producer. "What are you doing sending two niggers into my home?"

The producer agrees to meet with Walsh, who calls himself the protector of Chatsworth.

Walsh acts on behalf of Lynton.

The producer and Walsh reach a settlement.

A few weeks later, Chris Walsh ended up dismembered in a Chatsworth trash can.

Chris Walsh hung around porn and Chatsworth for many years. He used to work for Arrow. Chris has brothers who frighten the daylights out of porners who know them.

The man responsible for Walsh's murder was caught by the police and jailed. It wasn't the producer or his African-American gentlemen.

October 8, 2007

The following post doesn't seem anti-Semitic to me but it struck others that way.

From the Pola61blog:

It is so refreshing and great to see blogger such as "Luke is back " where all the things that we hear about, only gets posted on that site. Rumors and peoples personal experiences with various situations finds its way into print, and becomes legendary, especially about San Fernando Valley's pornographical Mecca. Well, to all temple visiting Jewish people that must be an insult to call it a Mecca, however, if you are a Jew and can't find your way to Jerusalems own Mecca, why not set up shop, and create your own, as many Jews have, in the pornographical industry.

One 'dodgy' character seem to show up a lot on that site, a certain Englishman, a Englishman with Russian heritage, and add that he is Jewish makes it more interesting, he is still on a long journey, and far away from the real deal. While many have seen him in his office; drinking expensive Scotch, and B&B he puffs on a joint with his feet thrown up on the desk, scratches his groin while the crabs are running amok in his pants, he is still thinking about wether this is his Mecca or if he is going for a "walkabout" to look for God.

Jewish people in the industry have been given a bad rep because of people like the English Jew with Russian heritage. He is a bootlegging thief in many people's eyes, steals, lies, smiles you in the face and stabs you in the back. So here is the big question: Since the entire industry knows about this Englishman, why does people deal with him. Why don't they cut him out, who needs who if I may ask, is this industry afraid of a man, that will use others to do his dirty work. Everyone knows he is just a coward, or is that news to all adult entertainment companies, one stop shops etc?

This reminds me about a time when I went to a public bathroom in Canada, written on the wall it posted "I see you're taking that shit! Now put it back." Is it not time to teach the bootlegging Englishman some manners?

The author of this blog is a former Appleson employee who's written a book about Lynton (not currently available). Here's an excerpt:

I was called in to Ted's office (Dane Production) one day and he started talking about bad things that were going on over at VIP Services He also said that he wanted me to leave Lynton and work full time for him. I was wondering if it was a set up, me leaving Lynton to work for Ted and then Ted turning around and letting me go. See how the paranoia works its way into everything? I knew that everyone knew each other in this industry and that made me very cautious. I said that I did not want to rush anything that I still had some work that had to be done for Lynton, and that it had to be done before I left him. I did not want to leave someone high and dry, that's not my style. He told me that he had something he wanted to show me regarding Lynton and VIP Services.

Ted left the office and came back with a magazine; it was the AVN industry magazine that contained all sorts of articles and ratings of adult videos. He said, "Look into the legal section, for all I care this information I gave you never came from me." I went to my car and opened up the pages and there it was in print, VIP Services was involved in a bootleg scandal. It said that a company called "Anabolic & Diabolic" was suing VIP Services for bootlegging 25 of their titles. I was pretty angry and upset. I knew that we all were eventually going to end up being subpoenaed to testify regarding this. I sat in my car and started to think, I knew that we always sent over exactly 25 titles to Nymph Pictures on Nordhoff. I remember that Lynton was so damn particular about the number 25. I remember one point in time when I told Lynton that I only had 20 titles and we could send them over now and do the usual 25 titles next time. He wouldn't have that; it had to be 25. By mistake, I sent over 26 titles. That was the only time I made that mistake.

I had already figured out that Nymph Pictures and VIP Services were very much involved in this bootlegging scandal. I had seen the owner of Nymph Pictures a couple of times at Nymph Pictures and a few more times at VIP Services. He was a short little guy. I took one good look at him and I knew that he was someone with tons of secrets and that he would go to any length to get what he wanted. He did not care about the consequences.

I ripped out the article, started my car, and left for the office at VIP Services. I thought about what I was going to say. Many things were tumbling around in my head. How deceptive Lynton was and how he constantly lied about everything. This was my turning point. From now on, I was closely watching whatever was going on when I went into the office. I had to protect myself and keep clear of his illegal dealings.

Back at VIP Services, Lynton's office door was open. I looked in and asked if I could have a word in private. He said sure and I went to close the door. I showed him the article and he looked away at the security monitors that monitored the whole building. I said, "Have you seen this month's issue of the magazine?"

He said, "Yes."

I said, "Don't you find it a coincident that they are talking about 25 titles? You always send over 25 titles to Nymph Pictures. You know that you need to turn him in." I was referring to the owner of Nymph Pictures.

Then he started to tell me this "story" that he got the stuff from someone and that he called up Chris Malibu, the owner of Anabolic & Diabolic, and said, "Chris I have some of your titles here what do you want me to do with them?" According to Lynton, Chris said to hold on to them and that he was going to get back to him. I did not believe a word that came out of his mouth. It made no sense. Why would Chris make a stink in the paper about it if he were not concerned?

I left Lynton's office and noticed that Rosie had a new assistant, Trish. She had been working for four months. I asked her about the magazine of the month and she said that Lynton took them and hid them all. I understood then that he did not want anyone to see the article, but everybody found out eventually.

It would only be a matter of time before this house of cards would come tumbling down.

Further into the book...

I called up Vicky, who I had not spoken to for nearly a year. She was now working for another porn company in Van Nuys. We talked for a long time and she told me that Lynton had approached her at a funeral, of all places, and whispered in her ear, "Don't fuck with my company." I told her what had happened to me after she had left VIP Services. This made her upset. She told me that Anabolic & Diabolic's lawyers approached her regarding the bootleg incident. She told them that she had nothing to say. After our conversation, Vicky apparently changed her mind and decided to talk.

Vicky called Chris at Anabolic & Diabolic and said that she wanted to talk about the bootlegging. She mentioned my name and he became really, interested in what I would have to say. Chris asked Vicky to give me his number so that I could call him. I thought about it for all of about one millisecond and called him up. I also gave his number to Trish so that she could get in touch with them as well. Trish was a very important witness in this case, but no one knew where she was or how to contact her, no one that is, except for me.

A month before I quit working for Lynton, I had found Trish a better job, a legit job, working for a company with a regular payroll and benefits; 401k, medical and dental, vacation, and holiday pay. These were all the things that Lynton could never offer. Lynton found out long after Trish left that I was the one who got her the job that enabled her to leave Lynton. I had already planned to leave VIP Services and I wanted Trish to leave before me. By doing this, I essentially knocked down the supporting stones that were holding up the rackety roof of Lynton's company. Trish was the only one who new the accounting and who could run the office. Without her, Lynton would be lost. It was only a matter of time now, but that rackety roof was about to fall in on him. This Christmas was going to be another one of those memorable ones for all of us.

Chris and I played phone tag for a while before we finally were on the phone at the same time. He asked me questions about the bootlegging and I told him all about my conversations with Lynton in the early summer about the article in the industry magazine. Chris said that he had never called Lynton, as Lynton had told me, and he never told Lynton to hold on to the bootlegged tapes. This was just as I had suspected. I told Chris all about the 25 titles we steadily duplicated through Nymph Pictures. I knew that Lynton had duplicated at least 2,500 pieces of each title. I said that at one point and time I had asked Lynton why he was duplicating through Nymph Pictures because it was so much more expensive than other duplicators. Nymph charged $1.79 per DVD duplicated and SKURA charged only 62 cents per DVD. Lynton said that the owner of Nymph Pictures "carried" him or, in other words, he was financing Lynton. Lynton did not have the money so he got credit from Nymph.

One day, Lynton was walking around in his warehouse looking troubled. I asked him what was bothering him he said there was nothing I could do about it. I was persistent, so he turned to me and said with a little bit of attitude in his tone of voice, "Can you lend me $60,000?" I knew he was serious, but I looked at him and laughed in order to try to ease the situation. I knew that we were expecting a new shipment from Nymph Pictures with the usual 25 DVD titles that we had them duplicate for us. It was obvious that Lynton owed Nymph Pictures a lot of money; he had put himself in a bad situation and made it worse by getting involved with the worst crook in the porn industry.

Nymph Pictures was looked down on because the owner had bootlegged many other titles during his time in business. In fact, bootlegging had landed Nymph Pictures in court and cost him plenty. Therefore, I was not surprised that he would be involved in Lynton's bootlegging scam. The owner of Nymph had no scruples and was known to drop his prices so low that it was impossible for other companies to compete, as much as Lynton did. In this latest scam, he had VIP Services order products from VIVID because they would not sell to Nymph Pictures. Lynton would purchase 10,000 pieces from VIVID and when the order arrived, Lynton would call the owner of Nymph Pictures and tell him that the product had arrived. He would show up at Lynton's with payment in hand and take 8,000 pieces with him. Lynton would keep the remaining 2,000 for himself. If VIVID had known about this, they would have never sold Lynton the products. They were weary of bootlegging and knew that was in Nymph Pictures' nature to bootleg other company's products. Nymph's reputation was legendary.

I had barely begun to tell Chris about Lynton and his world famous behavior when Chris asked me if I would testify. Without hesitation, I said that I would. He told me that he would have his lawyer call me to make the arrangements. A little later on that same day I was on the phone with the Chris' lawyer, Leonard Messinger from Fulwider Patton LLP. He was a very nice and knowledgeable man; however, he was a bit surprised and shocked by what he heard from me. What did he expect? This was not the kind of stuff that was on the daily menu at VIP Services for all to read.

I told the lawyer that Lynton kept his accounting books in his computer using a program called QuickBooks. The lawyer was surprised to learn that Lynton had never closed the books. He kept the books constantly open so that he could make his little adjustments. I do remember one time when Rosie had said something about that, she boasted that she could go in and change anything at any time for any reason. She added that when a customer was invoiced, but later decided to pay in cash, she would use reuse or recycle that invoice number. Rosie would do this by deleting the customer name and all other information on the invoice so that all records of the transaction would disappear. She would then have that customer shred the invoice that was sent to him, making it as if the transaction had never happened. Rosie would then reuse the invoice number for the next customer who paid off an invoice.

This happened to invoices for customers going back many years and it was something that could only been done if the books were not closed at the end of each year. I told the lawyer that he should talk to Trish because she knew more about this practice than I did. He asked me if I had seen any titles belonging to Anabolic & Diabolic. I told him that I did not know of any titles by that company because I was always busy concentrating on VIP Service's products. We talked about many things, and he asked me if I would testify if he subpoenaed me. I said that I would gladly help. Later that same week I received a subpoena from the lawyer and, in with the papers, was a list of Anabolic & Diabolic's product titles that had been bootlegged by Lynton. I looked over the list and remembered seeing a couple of the titles in the warehouse.

I came across these titles when I was double-checking the DVD titles that we had Nymph Pictures duplicate for us. I took notes and went all over the warehouse where I saw many other titles. Some of the titles stuck with me because they had a funny ring to them. At the upcoming deposition, I would tell the lawyers what I had seen in Lynton's warehouse.

I was not the only one who was subpoenaed; the lawyers went over to VIP Services and hand delivered subpoenas to Lynton's sales people and the warehouse crew. I knew this worried Lynton a great deal, but I figured that he would coach them all on what to say, that was his style. The lawyers knew that he would do this and were not too worried because they had Vicky, Trish, and I who would tell how things were; in other words, the truth. We were all they really needed to make their case. The lawyers were slick enough to make it look like it was a coincidence that we were called to testify.

Vicky called me and said that she had been served her papers to offer testimony in the case. She also said that one of Lynton's lackeys, ex-pornographer Peter Kinsler, had called Vicky and said, "There is a meeting at Lynton's, and if you show up you could make some money off it." Lynton had called the meeting because he wanted to pay for Vicky's silence. He could not afford to have her talk, she simply knew too much.

Vicky said to Peter, - "Just so you know, I just got served my papers."

He got all quiet and pretended to be cool, but she could tell that he was worried, very worried. Later on that same day, Peter asked Vicky's mother, "She won't say anything, will she?"

Vicky's mother answered him by saying, - "I don't know. I can't tell you what my daughter will do nor will I tell her what to do."

Peter was busy running Lynton's little errands and I wondered why he would do this for Lynton after all the terrible things that Lynton had said about Peter. Oh, they were a not nice thing, that's for certain. Lynton had even gone so far as to post some nude pictures of Peter on the internet without his knowledge. Yes, I saw the pictures; Vicky showed me one night when we were alone in the office. What can I say; you have seen one naked man and you have seen them all. Peter was dressed in his birthday suit and nothing more. The pictures of Peter were from both the front and the back, so he was in all his glory for all to see. Lynton also used Peter just to get free rooms in Las Vegas. That was about all Lynton used him for, in addition to making a fool of him. I wondered if Peter knew that Lynton was the one who took the pictures. Well, I guess there is no reason for telling him now, is there. We will see how long this friendship will last.

Before going to the deposition, I had mentioned to Anabolic's lawyer my problems with Lynton; about the title I owned and the other things he was doing to me. I told him that Lynton was trying to scare me off and intimidate me with his lawyer's letters, saying that I had to return the masters and the chromes to Lynton. By Lynton asking for the chromes and the masters, it was obvious that he was talking out his ass by claiming to be the owner of the materials. Without a master and no trace of the chromes, what the hell was he talking about? How could he own something but not be in possession of the materials? Well, he was implying that while I was working for him that I had stolen his property. That was something he had to prove first and, with no proof, he was SOL. I, on the other hand, was pissed that he would accuse me of stealing at a time when he was going to court for stealing. The lawyer said that he was going to talk to his partners regarding my situation.

There is an old saying that goes something like this: "When pointing one finger at another you have three fingers pointing back at you." Be very careful when pointing fingers.

On my way to the lawyer's office, located at the Howard Hughes Center, for my deposition, I received a cell phone call from one of the many Anabolic's lawyer's partners. He said that they would take my case against Lynton and make me their client on a pro-bono basis. He said to me that he thought Lynton was such a scumbag that it was a pleasure to do this for me. So, now I had a top of the line lawyer in my corner and Lynton was going to go down on this one if he chose to continue to go after me. Today was just not a good day for my revenge against Lynton, today it was also my birthday, and what a nice birthday present this was. I could not have asked for more. It was going to be sweet to see Lynton's lawyer when he found out that Anabolic & Diabolic's lawyers were representing me as well; they were good, I give you that.

My deposition included all the things that I have covered so far, including the illegal drugs, cash for merchandise, cash payment every other week to the employees, questionable duplicating, and more. Lynton's lawyer started to ask me if I had ever called him a Jewish asshole. I asked him where he got that from, then he asked me again if I had several e-mail accounts. I looked at him with a questioning look on my face and told him that I didn't understand. Frustrated, he again asked if I had several e-mail accounts. I said that I did, then he started to name them and I acknowledge that they were mine. Then he asked the first question again, if I had ever called Lynton a Jewish asshole. I thought to myself that I had not ever called him that, but I might have called him simply an asshole once or twice. I said no to the Jewish, part but that I was not so sure about the asshole part. He was an old fox, this lawyer, and he tried to make me look as if I was anti-Semitic. He had nothing better in his bag of tricks than to pull out the hate card. The truth to be known, I find that all men who operate 'dirty business' in this industry are assholes. If they happen to be Jewish, Catholic, Protestant, Muslim, or whatever, then it is their fault for making their particular community look shitty, not mine for having my opinions shaped by their actions. What they do really goes against their religion. One moment they go to pray and next they are holding their jocks and laughing at the girls who are making them money.

That day many depositions were held; some at the Howard Hughes Center and others in Woodland Hills. During my deposition, a problem occurred. One of Anabolic's lawyers came into the room, where my deposition was held, to tell Lynton's first lawyer that his partner had called and said that he was not going to show up at the other deposition in Woodland Hills. Anabolic's lawyer said that he would go ahead and do the deposition anyway. This did not go over too well with Lynton's lawyer and a harsh argument between the lawyers took place off the record. I was watching a tennis match with fireballs flying through the air in the form of words. This heated exchanged lasted several minutes and Lynton's lawyer naturally wanted this conversation off the record.

Lynton's single lawyer tried to corner me with questions, but he had nothing of importance or relevance to ask me. We played our little cat and mouse game and I followed all the rules. Not being able to trap me or trip me up, he eventually gave up and the deposition was over.

I felt throughout the whole deposition that there was a crook among us and that crook was Lynton's lawyer. He had no supporting arguments. When he was not trying to label me as an anti-Semite, his questions only worked to prove how deeply Lynton was in this bootlegging scam and how dirty he really was. A few days later, I felt fatigued. I was tired and exhausted, and I did not know what it was. I talked to Trish and Vicky, and they said they were feeling the same way. We agreed that it had to be the stress from the questions at our depositions. Vicky's deposition had to be re-scheduled because there was not enough time for everything she had to say. Trish told me that Lynton's lawyer had nothing to ask her, and, when he did ask her a question, he regretted it right away because her answer only incriminated Lynton further. There was nothing he could do; she was telling the truth and nothing could stop that. Finally, I felt that Lynton had played his last quarter and he was now out of extra lives. The game would soon be over.

Trish's deposition was the last nail in the Lynton's coffin. She incriminated both Lynton and his two lawyers, who just so happened to be father and son. I guess the apple does not fall far from the tree. Lynton was another rotten apple's son. Anyway, Trish described Lynton's "open-ended" accounting procedures and confirmed that his books were not closed at the end of the year. She explained that the books were still open for every year Lynton had been operating VIP Services Trish continued to offer up even more revelations by telling the lawyers that Rosie and Lynton had told her that Nymph Pictures was involved in this crooked accounting scheme as well. The lawyers then presented Trish with a pile of invoices and instructed her to point out only the small purchase orders that contained Anabolic's bootlegged products. She took out all the purchase orders for copying, there were about 400 orders that she copied, but, in the end, only a handful of them actually made it to court. Some of the big companies in the Valley had bought the bootlegged videos from Lynton too, but Anabolic's lawyers wanted to protect them from being questioned.

Trish confirmed my testimony regarding people paying in cash. I had seen transactions between Lynton and buyers in the warehouse where bundles of money were exchanged. However, that was not all; some of Lynton's sales reps went out to local customers and came back with cash payments that they gave to Rosie for handling.

Rosie; just who was she? Well, to expand a bit on what I said earlier, she was a big person who sat behind the desk in Lynton's front office and spent most of her pathetic existence yelling all day long, talking shit about people, and gossiping with Lynton. She was really a worthless lump of flesh with no redeeming qualities at all.

I was in Lynton's office one time when a sales rep. who had arranged a meeting between Lynton and a cash buyer came back into Lynton's office after the transaction. I could see that he was obviously very upset because he made no money off the sale; Lynton was not going to pay him his commission. Lynton and the sales rep. got into an argument and finally Lynton broke down and gave the person a measly $50 just to stop him from complaining. Lynton just wanted to get rid of him that is all.

Anabolic's lawyers requested a list of the people who had worked for and were still working for Lynton. Lynton had Trish type up a list with only the first and last names of the employees for the lawyers. He had her leave out Social Security Numbers and phone numbers in order to make it difficult for Anabolic's lawyers to contact anyone who could testify against Lynton. This was done at the suggestion of Lynton's roadside lawyer. After all was said and done, all we had left to do was to sit back and wait to see what the outcome would be.

So why?

Lynton is a man who can't get enough when it comes to sex; he is an abuser just as he abuses drugs. The little sales rep who he is dating from the office constantly makes fun of Lynton behind his back, but then she goes back smooching and sucking up to him in order to try and get a piece of his fortune. One money-loving whore trying to take advantage of another – what a pair.

When Lynton is partying, he does not ask what he is snorting, smoking, or shooting, he just do it. I am told that most "normal" drug users do not do drugs without being curious as to what they are using. No, not Lynton, he just goes for the platter of drugs as if it is a buffet and loads up. It's only after that he asks what it is.

Lynton uses people for only as long as he needs them. He uses them until someone else comes along and can do your job for less. He does not care about quality, only saving a buck or two. He uses women as he uses his employees. One time one of Lynton's girl friends found out that he was seeing another woman and she ran straight over to his house. When she got there, she peaked through the windows and she saw the woman and Lynton chasing each other around in the house naked. The next day, she confronted Lynton about this in the office. She was very upset and angry, and wanted to know who the hell that woman was. She made quite a scene at the office. Sometimes Lynton did end up being caught with his dick in his "briefcase"; this was one of those few occasions.

Dealing with the company on Nordhoff St. regarding the bootleg incident was another one of those situations. He always has his hands in someone else's cookie jar, so it's a matter of time before he gets caught again and has his little fingers smashed. Lynton is a very lonely, timid, and extremely paranoid man. In his demented little world, every man is a thief and every woman is a whore. What a nice outlook on the world. In 1995-96, Lynton had his life threatened, but then when has he not had his life threatened, he constantly puts himself in the target area, and if someone can aim properly he will be joining Chris Walsh, six feet down. He asked a friend to protect him, so the friend offered him a gun, but Lynton was afraid of guns and would not even touch it. Most people in this industry carry guns and have dogs to protect themselves. Lynton has none of that and, in fact, he hates violence.

There are two people that he fears most of all; one is the owner of Nymph Pictures and the other is his ex-wife Emi. Lynton fears the owner of Nymph Pictures because of his connections to the Israeli mafia. He fears his wife because she knows a lot about his behavior and his habits through their son. Either of them knows enough to put Lynton in jail for some time.

I get a call from a source. "What's your interest in Lynton?"

Luke: "Just that of a journalist. He hasn't done anything to me. He's a story. That's all. I don't care one way or another."

Source: "Why is Gregory Shearer (of White Tiger Video), an ex-cop (San Bernadino, why did he get discharged?), working for the dirtiest guy in the business?"

From the Pola61 blog:

So who helps this Englishman to keep up the four posts of his castle, no one other than Greg Shearer AKA Spanky and his right hand Kurt Harold. Wonder why his name is Spanky, is it because he likes to spank, or to be spanked or both. Well this man is very clear on what he wants, and tries to run this operation like he is in the police force, he should know since he is an ex-cop. What does a ex-cop do in the adult industry working with the most corrupt porn producer? Good question, what does an ex-cop do in the adult industry period, and answer to that is, if an ex-cop is not retired he is 99% corrupt, so there we have the answer, or is it just pure speculation? Someone who use to work in the law inforcement, then walked over to the other side, that kind of action sure smells to high heaven.

In today's 9/10/07 XBIZ.com news it states that Hot Desert Knights, that are located in Palm Springs is now supplying someone else instead of the big white kitty, which nails got too deep and nasty. Maybe the white kitty needs to file down the nails and start a different approach if the kitty is going to be able to maintain some decent credibility. However, since the dodgy Englishman seem to run the operation, that will be most unlikely.

XBIZ probably wanted to interview the dodgy Englishman, but a man of this statuer probably wants to surf under the radar, since he is well known for selling bootleg, and producing bootleg with other components involved.

Source: "How does the Jewish community feel about people like Bill Linton?"

Luke: "I'm 99% sure that Linton, like other Jewish pornographers, has little to do with the Jewish community. Jews feel the same way about pornographers as other groups do. All communities, be they latino or Christian or Italian, loathe pornographers.

"Jews in porn rarely belong to synagogues or to other Jewish organizations nor are they honored by the Jewish community. They're shunned in Jewish life just as they are shunned in Gentile life."

"Very few Jews are pornographers but a lot of pornographers are Jews just as few Jews are communists but many of the early communists were Jews.

"Jews in porn tend to be non-Jewish Jews. There's little that's Jewish about them. They just happened to be born of Jewish mothers. A Jew is a Jew even if he affirms nothing in Judaism while a Christian must affirm Christ to be a Christian."

Source: "Linton would kiss the mezuzah one time and then f--- people when he got inside.

"He has a mezuzah outside his [porn] building."

A mezuzah is supposed to be a "constant reminder of G-d's presence."

I'm looking at mine right now.

Source: "He kisses it every time he goes in. He thinks that is giving him good luck. He should know better that when you kiss the mezuzah, it's for God's presence and mitzvot."

Luke: "Does Linton belong to a synagogue and participate in Jewish life?"

Source: "He did. His son had a bar mitzvah. He probably goes to the synagogue and then to his own temple on Canoga Ave and screws people to pay his bills. What are you laughing at?"

Luke: "I'd be surprised if he went to synagogue more than once a year."

Source: "He's unfaithful to his girlfriend. He's bringing in a girl he was banging one night and looks at me and says, 'You better not tell Rachel [McGuire, Linton's salesperson, together for seven years]!'"

"He loves that he's Jewish. He pounds himself on the chest. If anyone says anything bad, he'll stand up on his desk and start screaming that everyone is a cunt."

"He checks his bank account on the hour. He's frantic about it. He cancels checks and tells people he'll send another one and then never does. He avoids the phone and hides in a corner."

"I met [Chatsworth enforcer turned murder victim] Chris Walsh many times. He was very charismatic and very sleazy. He would do drugs in the office and be told to leave. All the while people are smoking pot in the building."

"Linton has this guy Jose who works in the warehouse and sends out all the bootlegs."

"Linton will buy stuff cheap that's supposed to be shipped overseas. But he stashes it in his warehouse and sells it to U.S. retailers for domestic sales."

Luke: "What was Linton's relationship to Chris Walsh?"

Source: "He was supposed to protect his ass because Linton was threatened so many times. Walsh would sit on Linton's black leather couch all day long talking smack about everybody until it was time to go home. And he ended up in a dumpster."

"Linton had a lot of movies without 2257 documentation. Before the FBI came, he got rid of the movies."

Luke: "Linton had a couple of 2257 inspections?"

Source: "Yeah, but they didn't look in the right place. All the stuff is in his upstair's office. He had one guy fabricate 2257s for him."

"Linton doesn't come out and give you your paycheck. He waits until you come in and ask for it. He typically pays late."

"Do you know why his company is called Overlord? He wants to be that. He wants to feel the power. He lost the name when he failed to pay his corporate name fee."

"How can Linton afford to buy a house in Palm Springs and to buy a house in Woodland Hills?"

"Like Linton, Chaim Cohen does a lot of bootlegging with small runs. He has a shop on Nordhoff St, run by a relative. They were selling the stuff in stores around LA."

Linton does a lot of business with Dennis Heijnen (Shots Media) in the Netherlands.

Source: "Phil Provenzano took some of Lynton's movies and sent them to AEBN, an online VOD PPV operation. For a  couple of years, this company has been sending Phil royalty checks.

"Phil says that years ago Lynton screwed him on a compilation deal.

"Lynton sent AEBN a legal letter. AEBN took the stuff down right away and sent him the last month royalty check."

My source tells me to use JDate. "Linton's on there. Jack524 I believe.

"He's also on FriendsUnited in the UK.

"He had a good friend name who helped him start his business out of the back of his garage. In the middle of the night, he got a lot of shipments to his garage.

"Then Linton opened up in a warehouse and then on to Canoga Ave in Chatsworth.

"Linton was threatened one time. Jack tried to teach him how to hold a gun. Linton freaked out. He wouldn't even touch the gun.

"People in this industry have dogs and guns in their house but Linton won't touch any of that."
