DUC talks to Holly Halston September 2, 2003, after she finishes a show in San Francisco.

Holly: "San Francisco is its own market."

Luke: "What does that mean?"

Holly: "It's very different."

Luke: "In which ways?"

Holly: "You don't have a large crowd but they're good loyal fans."

Luke: "How often are you in San Francisco?"

Holly: "Every 60 days."

Luke: "How much time do you spend on the road?"

Holly: "Two weeks of the month."

Luke: "How long have you been doing that?"

Holly: "A couple of years now."

Luke: "What's the ratio of fans who are courteous to the ratio of fans who are jerks?"

Holly: "I'm lucky. I don't have jerk fans."

Luke: "When you were a little girl, what did you want to be when you grew up?"

Holly: "A mother. I wanted to be a stay-at-home mom and bake bread and have five children. I got half of that. I am a mother. I have four beautiful daughters (12, 10, 5, 4) and I do bake bread. My oldest daughter was a two-for-one special. My husband came with her."

Luke: "What was expected of you when you were a child?"

Holly: "I didn't have a good childhood. I don't think anybody expected anything. There was nobody to take the time to have expectations. "In our family, our whole life revolves around our children."

Luke: "Do you think that if you'd grown up with a good relationship with your mother and father, you'd still work in this industry?"

Holly: "Oh yeah. I think this industry, like all industries, has good and bad. You can choose to have a healthy life or to go in the opposite direction. I enjoy making entertainment. I enjoy making the controversy of being the only couple to shoot exclusive together, shooting over 150 movies. We've shot for Vivid, Jill Kelly Productions, Wicked... Now we're shooting for Halston Productions."

Luke: "What are your fans fans of?"

Holly: "They love that I only shoot with my husband. I'm the good girl gone bad."

Luke: "Isn't it weird having fans for having sex?"

Holly: "No, because I have sex with my husband. It's healthy for people to see that a couple who's been married for almost ten years, with four children, can still have a healthy sex life."

Luke: "How did you ever get into this industry?"

Holly: "I started dancing at a young age."

Luke: "How young?"

Holly: "Very young. I did a bachelor party in California. I've never had a bad experience with men that I've entertained. They've always respected me."

Luke: "Are you and your husband monogamous?"

Holly: "Yes."

Luke: "Always?"

Holly: "Yes."

Luke: "Does it bother you if he lusts after other women?"

Holly: "No, because I know he doesn't."

DUC falls off his chair. How could a woman be so naive about her man?

DUC, incredulous: "You know he does not lust after other women?"

Holly: "I know he doesn't."

Luke: "If he does not, then he is the only man on the planet."

Holly: "No. Lusting after other women. What's your definition?"

Luke: "He wants to have sex with them."

Holly: "No."

Luke: "Wow."

Holly: "We might be the only couple in the world, but I'm ok with that. I don't lust after other men."

As though men and women have similar sexual orientations (men lust for variety, women lust for intimacy with one man).

Luke: "Do you believe that men and women are very different in their sexual drives?"

Holly: "Oh yes. Definitely. It stems from the chemical makeup. Because we have different chemicals, we are going to have different desires. A man is generally driven by what it looks like while a woman is generally stimulated by how it makes her feel."

Luke: "I heard a famous saying - A woman seeks one man to satisfy her many needs while a man seeks many women to satisfy his one need."

Holly: "I disagree. I think it depends on the person. I've known many women who've sought many men to meet their needs. And I've known many men who sought just one woman."

Holly entered the video industry at age 27. She's about to turn 30. "I believe that young women often don't know what makes them feel good and what they want out of life."

Luke: "What do you want out of life?"

Holly: "I want to show people that you can be married and you can be monogamous and have fun with sex. Just don't cross the line. I want to be the best parent and wife and director and writer that I can be."

Luke: "You write movies?"

Holly: "Yes, for my company."

Luke: "Do you think that fans care about dialogue and script?"

Holly: "Fans want to see a good storyline but they don't necessarily need dialogue."

Luke: "Do you get criticism for being a mother and a porn star?"

Holly: "Absolutely not. Those that know me, know that I am equipped at separating. When I go on the road, I tour. When I'm at home, I'm a mom. I don't do business when I am at home."

Luke: "But what is it going to be like for your kids growing up to have a porn star as a mother?"

Holly: "Both their parents are porn stars. Because both their parents work together, I think they will have a clear understanding of what marital values are. It's right there out in the open to see that their parents work together so that they can have a better future."

Luke: "Have you spoken to your kids about this?"

Holly: "I have told my children an age-appropriate explanation of what their parents do. We don't lie to our children. When you are raising daughters, you have to be very clear about what sex is. There are too many young girls out there who do not know what sex is and get pregnant in their teens. We've told our daughters - if you have sex, you will get pregnant. You could get a disease. You could die from having sex. Sex should be what two people who care about each other enough if that they want to share their bodies."

Luke: "Do you think kids should wait until they are at least 18 before they have sex?"

Holly: "I'd like to hope so. Do I think that is realistic? I'd love for my children to wait."

Luke: "How old were you when you first had sex?"

Holly: "I was 14. It was too early. I was looking for love in all the wrong places. When you're not given strong parental guidance and strong parental love and encouragement, you go looking for that in other areas."

Luke: "What do you love and what do you hate about the video industry?"

Holly: "I love being able to give something to somebody that makes them feel good. Make a difference in their life. I hate when closed-minded people don't see it for what it is. The stereotypes need to be thrown out the window. Not all people in porn are out having sex and doing orgies and drugs and drinking. Some of us have normal lives."

Luke: "What do you tell people outside the industry what you do for a living?"

Holly: "I don't lie. I tell people exactly who I am and what I do."

Luke: "How do people react?"

Holly: "I think because we're so honest about it, we haven't had any bad reactions."

Luke: "How tall are you and what do you measure?"

Holly: "I'm 5', 32DDD-20-32. I twice had implants. The last job, he was supposed to go larger. There's a lawsuit pending."

Luke: "Do your implants make you feel any different as a woman?"

Holly: "I love breasts. I breastfed all my daughters. Yes, the implants do make me feel much better about myself. I've had too augmentations and I'm still lactating."

Luke: "If your husband suckles on your breasts, what happens?"

Holly: "He gets milk."

Luke: "Do you have a favorite book?"

Holly: "I read the Nora Roberts romance novels. When I'm on the road and on planes, I'll go through two a week.

"No matter what my husband and I have tried to do with our lives, we've always ended up back in this industry. This is where I've always felt comfortable. The people in the adult industry have always been my family."

Luke: "That should do it. Anything that I should've asked you?"

Holly: "No, I'm pretty boring, huh? I read your biography and I've got to tell you that I was nervous about you. You're very strong person, intimidating, for interviews. I love a challenge."

Luke: "You were very controlled."

Holly: "Yes I am."

Luke: "You didn't say anything controversial. You didn't say anything to get you in trouble."

Holly: "I don't care about getting into trouble. Those were honest answers. I've never had a bad experience in this industry. "You could've asked more controversial questions."

Luke: "I get the feeling that I would not get any response from you that would create waves. What about if I interviewed Troy? What could I ask to get him to say something controversial?"

Holly: "He won't. He's just as controlled as I am."

Luke: "I need to call him after he's been drinking."

Holly: "We don't drink. We don't have time."
