Saturday night, 4/19/03, I got an email from porn star Gen Padova: Regarding the Cynara Fox interview: The comment that was made by Eddie Tour, "I will give her the benefit of the doubt on that one, however there are MANY legal drugs, which can cause very similar effects when ABUSED. Percodan, Perocet, Xanax, Darvon, Vicodin, ect., are all perfectly legal, but can cause a person major social problems, just look at Anna Nicole Smith. I have no evidence that Ms. Fox is on any or all of these drugs, however, unless she has some extreme form of narcolepsy, I’m not quite sure what could be wrong with her. Even if she is quite ill, and has been prescribed very powerful drugs,..."

My name is Gen Padova, who knows if you've heard of me. I'm female talent as well. Majority know me as one of the level headed quiet ones. I don't speak my mind much but Cynara's interview really touched me especially when I've spent hours speaking to her on set, getting to hear her life's experiences and what she's done to make her who she is....

For this Eddie guy to make such cruel accusations in such a sincere way... is ridiculous. He makes it sound like its wrong to have certain health conditions and to work in a business field of their choice. As long as it isn't threatening to others, what's wrong with it?

I've battled leukemia and battled a good part of it in the business. Sure I went through some chemo, radiation therapy, medications. Sure there are side effects but who in their right mind wants to take the chance in jeopardizing their own life by not taking a prescribed drug that could help highly. And certainly I'm not going to stop living my life not doing the things I want to do to fulfill my desires.

Eddie makes it sound rather heartless because his health seems to shine bright as gold. Its not a crime to suffer from side effects of medication, a man of common sense can figure that one out. And certainly doesn't need a college degree to comprehend it.

The adult business has a lot of controversial issues, one being such as a good number of people in this world find it hard to grasp the concept of women and men having sex for money on camera. To each his own and who is to judge morality or what's wrong and right. And to go as far as even involving a medication a female takes to perhaps put her in a bet.

DUC... I don't see what you did wrong in the interview. So what if you forgot to introduce yourself in all detail, it happens, you didn't do anything wrong anyways, so big deal. Mark Kernes is a great guy but he needs to stop giving himself all the credit just because he works for f-ckin AVN.

It's all money big f-ckin' deal. You're awesome man. Thanks for hearing me. I feel better now. XOXO Gen Padova

P.S. Not everyone is Jenna Jameson. She lives her life as a porn star, she is THEE PORN STAR with a personality to die for but tthat'sin a nutshell. She doesn't go by a real name and alias. There are people such as myself and Cynara who are real people. We get sick. Getting better is more important than 800$ or an orgasm that can wait. Excuse us for not being the perfect suckers to every god damn shoot even when we're sick. sh-t happens. What about companies who flake on talent? I can name a few. But I can let it go and keep it to myself. :)

.......................

I got Gen to call me 4/19/03 so we can talk about her career. She speaks softly.

Luke: "When did you get into the industry?"

Gen: "About three years ago. I started off taking pictures of myself with a digital camera and then trading them with webmasters. One thing led to another. I had a bunch of websites and Yahoo clubs."

Luke: "I'm just reading your profile by AVN, Fresh off the Bus."

Gen: "It's awful. The picture...and the way they edited my interview. It made me sound like a child. I did the interview in the summer of 2002."

Luke: "You did your first video 18-months ago?"

Gen: "Yeah, my first mainstream [porn] video. I've done about 80 videos."

Luke: "Is it true you got a BA in Visual Arts?"

Gen: "Yeah, in Visual Arts and Philosophical Studies and a minor in Biochemistry."

Luke: "Did that help you in the porn industry?"

Gen: "No."

Luke: "Is it true that most porn stars are asked for a degree in philosophy before they can get started in this industry?"

Gen: "I think it would be helpful, especially with the irrational people who put out nonsense."

Luke: "How long have you known Cynara?"

Gen: "Only for a month. On St. Patricks Day, we did a feature called Double Booked. We were on set for at least twelve hours. We talked for a couple of hours. Most girls you come across on set, you don't get to talk to for long. Their attention span doesn't last. Cynara is a real person. She's not trying to be somebody else. She's doing what she wants. I'm offended when I read what Eddie Tour says because I'm in her situation when it comes to medical problems."

Luke: "When did your battles with leukemia begin?"

Gen: "About two-and-a-half years ago. I was working at a pathology lab. It just got to the point where I couldn't work eight hours a day. I went to a doctor and got a lot of tests done and I was diagnosed with mild leukemia. I had to stop working. Luckily, it was caught in time to treat. For two years off and on, it was constant getting better and getting worse. Just a huge battle. I was fortunate that I didn't lose all my hair and I didn't break out in sores. I didn't have the more dramatic side effects. I did suffer from a lot of pain. I've been in remission now for about two months.

"Going through something like that, losing your job, is traumatic. Knowing I was going to be in bed for long periods of time...I decided to go work in the porn industry. I'm an exhibitionist. It's something I've always wanted to pursue on the side. Working in the adult business has kept my positive outlook in life. It keeps me around people, real people, people who've experienced life. When I wasn't out doing a shoot, I was home resting, sleeping as much as I could. I'd feel good one morning and wake up the next day feeling lowest of the low. What can you do but stay in bed."

Luke: "What do you love and what do you hate about the industry?"

Gen: "I love the variety of people. I love that I can perform something so personal and fulfill a person's fantasies and help a person's love life. It fulfills me to fulfill sexual desires on camera. I go on set all the time and meet girls who don't want to be there but they need the money... I love to talk to those girls because I know I might be able to help them.

"What I don't like about the industry is hypocrisy, ignorance, negative talk... Calling someone a whore, making negative comments about someone's performance, about the way someone does a BJ (blowjob)... If everybody had sex the same way, it wouldn't be entertaining."

Luke: "What hypocrisy do you see in the industry?"

Gen: "People who will lie and say, 'No, I don't do drugs. No, I don't have drugs on set.' And yet they do and they get caught doing drugs and they get kicked off the set and sent home. People who lie about the truth of what they do - to their families, to themselves... If you're going to display yourself to the world, at least make the best of it. It's the gossip that makes a lot of people hypocritical. I've only done one other interview - for AVN's Fresh off the Bus.

"After reading Cynara's interview, that really pissed me off. I'm not normally one to speak out. People like Eddie Tour are a perfect example. God forbid we don't have health like yours. God forbid we don't have the charm you have. God forbid we're not a Jenna Jameson. People get sick. People have tragedies. People die. Family comes and goes. If you can't go to a shoot, big deal. You can replace the person.

"There are companies that flake on talent. I've flaked once because I was hospitalized. I've had more companies flake on me than I've ever flaked on anybody else.

"I was scheduled for a shoot on a location on Mulholland Drive. I arrived an hour early and nobody was there. I hung around. I didn't have any reception on my cell phone. I stayed there for two hours and nobody showed up. So I went home. On my way home, I got a voice message on my cell phone saying they had changed the call time to 6PM. They wanted me to turn around and go back during rush hour and drive up Mulholland Drive. I called them and said I couldn't make it. If you want to reschedule, I'm more than willing to do it.

"We rescheduled. Two days later, I got a voicemail saying they had a shoot booked in Russia. 'Please stay in the business because we'd like to book you when we get back.' I've never heard from them since.

"I took the time to drive to their office, let them ask me questions. I talked to them. I was kind. I gave them all the time in the world. I let them take pictures of me without my clothes. I gave them my schedule and my number. And you get screwed."

Luke: "You say that one of your favorite things is to talk to girls on set because they are only in it for the money. What sort of conversations do you have?"

Gen: "One lady had battled addiction to multiple drugs. She's gotten to the point where she's been sober for a year. She'd never graduated high school. Her only hope to make a large amount of money and to get her life back on the road was to work in the adult business. She had two children. She was a single mother. The only downside was that she didn't enjoy working in the adult business because she did not feel that it was right to perform sex. It did not meld with her morality. She cried. At the end, she hugged me. She did nothing but hope that one day she could work and go to school and wouldn't have to work in the adult industry. I hoped that she would find something in the business that she liked."

Luke: "It's a tough industry to like when half the people in it don't want to be in it."

Gen: "It is sad."

Luke: "Why do you want to be in it?"

Gen: "I was always a studious, quiet person. I kept to myself. I didn't associate with a lot of people. I've always been an exhibitionist but I never did anything about it. I always had these wild crazy ideas growing up, wondering what it was like to be with a girl, to get naked in front of a lot of people. When I got the opportunity, it was exploring my own sexuality, finding spots on my body that made me feel that I am a woman. The porn industry has helped me find myself. The more people that watch me, the more turned on I am."

Luke: "What's the prognosis for your health?"

Gen: "I've been in remission the past two months. People who suffer from leukemia in early adulthood have a better chance of surviving because our immune systems are stronger to fight off the cancer."

Luke: "How do your family and friends feel about you working in the adult industry?"

Gen: "Both my mother and father know. When my mother found out, she cried in happiness. When I grew up, I never wore clothes that accentuated my body. She said, 'If this is what it is going to take for you to feel confident and happy, and express yourself, so be it. Go ahead. Do it. Have fun.' My father, he wouldn't talk about it a lot. He said, 'If this is what it takes for you to be happy, then do it. Just be careful.' He's supportive. They don't watch my movies. My Dad is a big porn freak. He's seen some of my magazine stuff. He came to Classic Lady of Oz [strip club] when I was doing an amateur night. It was my first experience dancing and I had nobody to support me, so my Dad came along. He got 100 $1 bills without me knowing and when I went on stage, he threw them on stage. Nobody knew he was my father."

Luke: "Did you guys talk about it afterwards?"

Gen: "Yeah, he said it was cool."

Gen Padova Interview

10/21/04

I was reading this thread. Gen Padova jumped in alleging drug use at the home of porn star Cytherea and her boyfriend Brian.

Dick Tracy, a multifaceted porn star with credits in both straight and homosexual porn, writes to Gen:

do you people have a f---ing CLUE??? why do you constantly add to the rumor mill and talk sh-t you cannot prove?it's funny,I've been thier guest at quite a few get togethers at thier house and it sure AINT f--kin scarface s--t goin on..brian is actually a smart businessman who handles his womans carreer at HER request..now as for GEN PADOVA..you're cute but remember this : DO NOT WRITE CHECKS YOUR ASS CANT CASH...there is no excuse for your constant sh--talk..

Jason Sechrest writes:

Skeeter hears the name mentioned and makes a crack, “Don’t anybody bag on Dick Tracy! He’s a fine performer and he made a very nice gay movie. That was a fine gay gangbang movie he made and he was good in it! Don’t anybody knock him for it! I don’t want to hear anything negative about Dick Tracy and his gay gangbang movie on my set!” An uproar of laughter ensues. (For the record, it wasn’t Tracy getting f-cked in the gangbang. And the movie is Duke Miller’s Lumberjack Gangbang, from Big Blue Productions.)

I call Gen Padova Thursday afternoon.

"It's freezing," she says. "It's only 70 degrees. I'm spoiled because I'm from California. I've never lived in the snow."

How's your health?

Gen sighs. "I haven't been to the doctor for a month. I'm putting it off."

Is that a good idea?

"No, it is not a good idea. I'm sick and tired of being told what to do when I know my body best. I've been feeling fine. He wants me to go in for a shot every week to boost my red blood cells for energy and oxygen. I know that I don't need it every seven days. I feel I only need when I feel like I need it. Him trying to convince me to do a session of chemotherapy when I've told him that I'd rather die than do chemo again."

What's the deal with your comments about Brian and Cytherea?

"Everyone knows I don't hold back. If someone asks me a question, I'll give them an answer according to the best of what I know (unless it is about someone's health or family). But if it should be of concern to the adult industry, I'm going to answer the question.

"It got to Brian and Cytherea. Brian sent me an email [Thursday night] on behalf of him and Cytherea asking if they had done anything to me to upset me to say something like that. Just let us know.

"I responded -- it had nothing to do with anything you've done to me. I was asked a question and I answered it. If I was wrong with my information, I'd do anything I could to make it up to them. I asked him to clarify the matter on the board. He didn't [address the drug allegations].

"A lot of the people in this business who use drugs to get by are in complete denial and they'll take it to their grave because they are ashamed of it."

Why do you hang out at XXXPornTalk when you get slammed so often?

"There are more people on that board who appreciate who I am because I can stand up for myself and not be ashamed. I don't use a hidden name. There are only a few people on the board who like to take hard shot at me."

Why don't you hang out at ADT?

"Because it is so huge and I can't keep up with it."

Gen does a couple of porn scenes a week. "I just started dancing yesterday. When I woke up this morning, my whole body hurt badly. It was too much exercise.

"When I get spare time, I like to hang out with my parents. I'm close to them.

"I'm happy with everything I've done. I don't think there's much more I could do to make me happier. If I have to go, I have to go. I'm so sick and tired of fighting. That's all I've had to do in my life. I'm doing herbal stuff. I'm eating healthy. No carbonated sodas. I'm sick and tired of doing treatments and being nagged by a fricken oncologist. Having to fork over a couple of thousand dollars in medical bills every month on top of my health insurance."

Are you giving up on your regular medicine?

"I have in the last couple of weeks. I'm not taking my anti-cancer drugs. I tell [her doctor] that I am, but I'm not because I don't like the way they make me feel. I'm not into the whole man-made drugs supposedly making you live longer. It just feels like they're killing me slower."

How's Gen Padova's Battle With Leukemia?

She replies 3/5/06: "I've been in remission for a year and 8 months."

Luke: " Are you taking the drugs you are supposed to and doing what your doctors tell you or have you gone your own path?"

Gen: "Nope, I'm not on any medication. Don't need to be. They just wanted me in for regular visits for blood work. That's all. I take pretty good care of myself. Eat healthy. Mainly my own path. I know whats best for me."

5/10/06

Da Burglar: Describe briefly your idea/ideal of the perfect "date" with a guy.

Gen P: I'm all about fine dining. Some place low-key, dim setting, quiet and quaint, great food and respectful service. Some place where you don't feel rushed to eat and get out quick. There is nothing hotter than intellectual conversation and good food all at the same time.

I'm rather skeptical about the whole concept of marriage and the politics that come with it. If I were to ever exchange vows it'd be purely about unconditional love. The money helps a lot but I don't need someone who has money falling out of his ass. It's a good advantage for both to be independent financially. I'm not so much the kind to be so ignorant with age. I tend to find it nothing more than just a number. While levels of maturity come with various ages in both men and women.

My previous relationship was with someone the same age. It wasn't a good example of what it'd be like to date those the same age as I. But my experience with dating isn't much to compare to. Yet so far I've been blessed with a man who is slightly older. Driving around 50 miles one way to L.A. to work isn't very ideal, thankfully it has never been a daily thing but as everyone has a change in life at some point in time, I've come to realize that working in a depressing atmosphere such as a hospital isn't something I want to be a part of the rest of my life.

So I've recently found a change of heart to take part of School of Advanced Message Therapy and Alternative Medicine. Give me several months and I'll let you know what the afterlife is like.

I have never been donkey punched. I don't plan on being a part of any donkey punching.

>What was the LAST thing you did to help someone out where you didnt receive or expect something in return?

Donating blood LOL man that part angers me because back in the day when I was taking chemistry in high school, we had a chance to donate blood for 10 extra credit points and because my midget ass is tiny, I didn't weigh enough to donate blood! Bastards!!! I've taken my friend Cynthia to USC Medical Center many times for her follow ups on her arm that was amputated without actually losing her arm from a car accident. Poor girl had to wait a year and a half for swelling to go down before they could do any cosmetic surgery and then tendon transfers. She went through a dozen surgeries, she's one hell of a trooper.
