Bodil Joensen - The Life and Movies of Cinema's
Most Exploited Star

I've been reading an interesting book:
Fleshpot: Cinema's Sexual Myth Makers & Taboo Breakers, edited
by Jack Stevenson.
Here's an excerpt from the chapter on Bodil, a common Danish
name:
Bodil Joensen was born in a small Danish village in 1944.
In March of 1969, when Denmark passed revolutionary anti-censorship
laws unconditionally freeing all pictorial representation
from legal restraint, she was born again - as an outre world-class
porno celebrity.
She had an unhappy childhood. Her father was a drunk and philanderer.
Her mother was violently puritanical and sadistic.
Bodil enjoyed playing with animals on the farm. She lost her
virginity to a man at age 15.
In 1970, broke, she moved to Copenhagen to work as a porn
model. She also performed live sex in at least three different
sex clubs with her collie dog, Lassie, and a shifting array
of other partners.
Lassie had sex with over 25 women. It's not known if he ever
got it on with another dog.
Bodil had sex with all sorts of animals, including boars.
Pornographers and reporters would regularly track her down
and film and interview her.
Her most famous films include:
Bodil, A Summer Day (1970)
Animal Lover (1971) put together by Alex de Renzy
Why
In late 1972, Bodil had a daughter. She opened a massage parlour
in Copenhagen.
Bodil claimed that initially her neighbors accepted her bestiality
performers. Not for long. She became the most ostracised and
controversial of European porn stars, perpetually rumored
to be feeble-minded, in prison or dead from suicide. She became
the focal point of fear and hatred in the neighbouring countryside
that took on an almost medieval resonance...
By 1980, she was broke and fat and ugly. She was 36 years
old but seemed much older. She was a chain smoker and heavy
drinker. She was 60-pounds overweight with grossly swollen
legs. Her teeth were rotten and her hair was thinning and
unwashed.
Old customers would come by to see her and give her money
though they did not want to touch her.
There is no hard evidence of what happened to her. Most say
she committed suicide.
