Monkey Commentary AVN
reports
Email Luke photo IDs.
A porn girl who comes through says she's with World Modeling.
"World Modeling is no more," yells a photographer.
"I know there's a little sale going on," says the girl.
All night I wonder about the identity of the sophisticated blonde at
the end of the line wielding a video camera.
Finally I tell her I've not seen before at one of these events.
"And I hope you'll never see me again," she says.
She's with ABC's Prime Time and they're following Sophia Lynn and Sunny
Lane around for a few months for a piece that will air in January.
It looks like Tommy Gunn and Rita Faltayano are separated.
Bryn aka director Eli Cross (he
writes a good blog as far as porn blogs go) said that if I showed
up to his Nov. 11 party, he would make a big scene and leave. That it
was either him or me. That if I was allowed to come, he would not show.
That if I showed, he would throw me out.
Well, I showed up, snuck around, took a few pictures, and then when Bryn
arrived with his girlfriend Kylie Ireland, I hung around for a few minutes
and then left. The old Luke would've taken their picture and looked forward
to a confrontation but the new Luke is a peacemaker.
I didn't realize that I had unfinished business with Bryn.
I guess Bryn, like me, likes to nurse his grievances over years and let
them grow monsterously huge, but keep them in check until just the right
moment to let them explode.
Bryn has a huge temper and uses it to get what he wants in life.
Each of us is struggling in life. It's ridiculous to argue which one
of us is more successful. We're both in the porn sewer. There are no meaningful
gradations in the sewer.
Do you think that if Warner Brothers offered Bryn a $50 million movie
to direct, he'd turn it down so he could concentrate on shooting porn?
Of course not. If I was offered something good in mainstream, I'd hang-up
my porn gossiping immediately.
Bryn and I would prefer to work in Hollywood than in porn. So what's
the big deal with either of us claiming to be better than the other? We're
shleppers. If we were any good, we wouldn't be working in porn.
So Bryn's made some good porn films and I've broken some good porn stories.
Big deal.
Back to the party Saturday night in my pedestrian prose that Bryn detests:
Porn star and AVN photographer Gia Jordan is nice to me. She gives me
diet tips. Yay. One more person I can feel safe with at these events.
Oh no. Mike Albo is going to accuse me of writing like a girl. But I
can't help it.
Mike emails: "No, I’m going to accuse you of writing like a 12-year-old,
socially inept girl...who lacks wit and style."
I can't fight this feeling any more.
I have an intense insecurity complex because my camera (when the flash
is on) will only take pictures every five seconds while the pros next
to me knock off many photos (with flash) per second. I'm intimidated by
their superior equipment.
Gia
Jordan posts on XPT:
Luke, I saw you taking photos tonight and you seemed hesitant on certain
shots. Please don't second guess yourself. You have your own style and
I love it! You're even getting better. You're the Terry Richardson of
porn event photography without even trying to be Terry Richardson. And
the fact that you didn't know who he was -priceless! In the words of
Journey, don't stop believing. Please continue shooting, with the exception
of me, of course because there are some things you never want to know
like what day you'll die and if you can pass the lukeisback litmus test.
Rob writes: "Maybe it's not your photographic skills that make these
"stars" look so terribly homely. Maybe these people are just terribly
homely. Without a penis in their mouths most of these ladies wouldn't
rate a double take if you saw them at the mall. Average at best."
Kris writes:
The only thing I dont like about your photography is the blown out
highlights, its like really bad spelling and grammar - part of the visual
syntax you ought to get to grips with. But then who am who am I to talk.
Neither yourself gia jordan or holly are gifted photographers, but I
like your attempts better. You seem to visually admit your failing,
not really care about it, other than when you feel set upon and insecure,
no doubt wanting to get it over and done with, maybe fearing the stress
will set off a panic attack. In that there is quality, it gets at an
aspect of an affected state of mind and perhaps wider humanity.
Jeff Mullen writes:
(HOLLYWOOD, CA) Hollywood was bursting with Corruption this past Saturday
night as Sex Z Pictures hosted a supreme porn party that delivered everything
organizers had promised creating a perfect evening for a perfectly corrupt
movie.
Along a busy stretch of Sunset Boulevard in the heart of Hollywood,
pent up sexual energy collided with a cacophony of sites, sounds and
sexily dressed porn starlets some completely naked as a thunderous political
cocktail was served when Siren Studios opened its spacious doors for
the highly anticipated Corruption: The Bash.
The party organized by All Media Play for Sex Z Pictures celebrated
the epic adult motion picture Corruption and when director Eli Cross,
executive producer Bo Kenney and the beautiful cast including Hillary
Scott, Kylie Ireland, Alana Evans and Trina Michaels arrived via limousine,
this political heart attack of a movie suddenly had a magnificent bash
worthy of its best movie of the year contender status.
Looking more like a Hollywood mainstream premiere than a porn party,
the splendid stage was set as scores of beautiful porn starlets made
their way onto the brightly lit red carpet entryway parading past the
bright lights and big screen televisions which trumpeted their arrival
as members of the media captured the action with a blur of camera flashes.
Numerous limousines pulled up curbside to drop off their valuable cargo
making Corruption the place to be.
“Wow, this is really great. I knew this would be a big event, but this
is a little bit awe inspiring,” Hillary Scott stated as she was ushered
onto the red carpet for dozens of photos with other members of the cast
before making her way inside for some wild fun. In fact, Hillary Scott
who appears ready to be showered with many award nominations this year
including best female performer, looked the picture of perfection as
her blond hair and gorgeous green dress provided the perfect compliment
to her sexy face and fuck me attitude.
With massive indoor and outdoor party areas, members of the industry
were treated to three large bars serviced by an army of bartenders but
once inside the political overtones from the movie hit home. Corruption
details the controversial life of a morally corrupt United States Senator
who will stop at nothing to obtain power. Politics and a politically
incorrect theme were in play all night long as giant fifty foot red,
white and blue banners, American Flags and election themed bunting adorned
the converted studio offering a realistic décor which served as a fitting
backdrop to the wild politically incorrect fun. Cute go-go dancers greeted
delighted guests as the gyrating vixens shook, rattled and twisted their
naked bodies to the rock music spun by DJ Morty.
Rock star Dave Navarro arrived with a bevy of hot girls and took in
the action with a smile and a keen eye scouting for talent. Lyla Lei
of Goldstar Modeling exposed her perky breasts while doing some dirty
go-go dancing surrounded by a number of well lubricated girls who joined
in for some impromptu sexual fun on the go-go platform. The cocktails
flowed effortlessly courtesy of Sex Z Pictures as a team of ten bartenders
attended to the needs of the thirsty porn industry crowd pouring whiskey,
beer, rum, and tasty Kröl Vodka which has become a popular fixture on
the adult industry scene. In fact Kröl Vodka brought their own hot girls
and over a hundred bottles of their finest to keep parched guests in
the mood for love and down for some Corruption.
Numerous industry executives, directors and talent agents also made
the scene including Goldstar Modeling, Direct Models, Spiegler Girls
and Number One Models. As the party heated up, spirits soared and a
number of girls got a bit freaky especially in the back rooms where
clothes were removed and bodies became the center of attention. A few
girls began to perform sexual acts first on one another, and then on
a number of lucky male party goers adding to the wild nature of Corruption.
“The best porn movie deserves the best porn party and we did everything
possible to offer a great event for Sex Z Pictures and Corruption”,
stated Jeff Mullen of All Media Play.
Spotted having a great time were adult movie legends Ginger Lynn and
Nina Hartley partying with Hillary Scott, Kylie Ireland, Alana Evans,
Jasmine Byrne, Eva Angelina, Mia Rose, Sophia Lynn, Monica Mayhem, Paola
Rey, Penny Flame, Tricia Devereaux, Sunny Lane, Avy Lee Roth, Kat, Joanna
Angel, Gia Jordan, Havana Ginger, August, Christina Aguchi, Ryaan Reynolds,
Paulina James, Veronique Vega, Lauri Pleasure, Lori Lust, Presley Maddox,
Diana Doll, Sasha Grey, Taylor Kurtis, Riley Mason, Sue Diamond, Cassidy,Tyla
Wynn, De’Bella, Shi Reeves, Georgia Peach and literally a hundred others.
“A movie like Corruption only comes around once in a great while and
I wanted to offer a fabulous night to celebrate the greatest movie that
Sex Z Pictures has even done. I thank those who came and partied and
I want to congratulate my cast, crew and Eli Cross on making a magnificent
picture and tonight’s party has surpassed everything I had hoped it
would be”, stated Bo Kenney before diving into the waiting doors of
a stretch limo.
Corruption: The Bash was picture perfect and totally appropriate for
a hard hitting, in your face movie that is turning heads everywhere
as it marches towards best movie of the year status. If you only watch
one adult movie this year, join the party and get Corruption. Corruption
is in stores now. Ask for it by name. www.corruptionmovie.com
Fisting Scenes In Corruption
Worry Buyers?
Some buyers are returning the movie because they don't want to be prosecuted
for peddling obscenity.
Publicist Jeff Mullen replies to my inquiry:
Hello Luke, I spoke with Bo Kenney of Sex Z Pictures this morning regarding
your comment on alleged Corruption DVD returns. We’re not quite sure
where that is coming from as ironically the exact opposite is happening.
With the more ‘family friendly’ version of Corruption set for a store
release the week after Thanksgiving, orders from a number of large distributors
who did not wish to re-order or even pick up the current version of
the title due to swirling controversy have now placed large orders for
Corruption.
The box has been redesigned to reflect reviewer’s comments and clearly
show that it is an altered version of the movie. Bo Kenney feels very
strongly that the public should be allowed to see the director’s original
vision but is offering this newer version to eliminate any questions
about purchasing this combustible lighting rod of a movie. Corruption
is but a mirror on contemporary society and politics in general and
is offering what mainstream Hollywood has been offering for years.
Any time a movie as powerful as Corruption is released, it creates
many degrees of shockwaves which permeate through numerous layers of
society generating both positive and negative responses.
Den from CAVR.com emails:
Luke, Eli Cross sent me an email and a portion talks about fisting
in the movie Corruption. It is a pretty interesting point he make. He
gave me permission to attach it to my review.
As for the fisting, I remember Tampa Tushy Fest well, and I wrote
AVN's on the set of The Fist, The Whole Fist, etc. I'm not familiar
with your tape, but the thing you're forgetting about the two shows
you've mentioned is that they are both gonzo. In order to be found
obscene, a video must have no redeeming social importance, i.e. it
must be artless.
Whether you like the story or no, the amount of obvious work that
went into the story and feature parts of the movie would make it a
very difficult prosecution.
SexZ's lawyer from Paul Cambria's office viewed the movie and felt
it was very unlikely to be targeted for prosecution, and was eminently
defensible if it were for precisely those reasons. However, for the
very few retailers who do not want the version with the fisting and
gunplay, we are making a slightly toned-down normal XXX cut available.
Apart from DVD Empire and Movie Gallery, there isn't much interest.
Roger
Pipe writes:
Sandra buries her whole hand into Kylie’s snatch and goes to town.
It continues into anal and eventually DP fisting. Ariana also spends
some time fisting herself. This stuff is as lost on me as the piss action.
I don’t find it erotic, entertaining or even all that impressive. It
certainly doesn’t add much to the movie because the orgy is still going
all around them. It might be different if the fisting were an event
of some sorts, a punishment perhaps or something resembling a crescendo
to this sexual symphony. That isn’t the case though. It’s just another
series of images in a very long orgy scene. To be honest, I think I
am as bored by this as the Senator looks sitting in the corner. The
fisting feels very much like something they threw in just to throw it
in. Perhaps it was to add controversy to the project, perhaps it was
to set off red flags with those who come after these things, but what
it does is bring the whole party to a screeching halt faster than finding
a turd in the punchbowl.
Seymore Butts was prosecuted for obscenity by the City of Los Angeles
in 2001 and got away with pleading a misdemeanor.
Stevie Why emails:
Perhaps Eli Cross should talk to a few more lawyers first before making
broad generalizations about obscenity law; just because a film isn't
"gonzo" doesn't automatically disqualify it from an obscenity prosecution
or investigation, especially at a local level. While it certainly wouldn't
be considered under federal obscenity laws, there continues to be many
crazy local obscenity statutes on the books. IF (and that's a big if)
some local prosecutor gets a bug up their butt to file such charges,
they will likely not be directed towards Eli or Sex-Z Pictures, but
rather the business or local store selling and distributing such title.
Even if a film is not obscene in the legal sense, that won't stop a
holier than thou prosecutor (who generally have little knowledge of
the application of the law).
Furthermore Paul Cambria's own "Cambria List," though now a few years
old, specifically warns against fisting and multiple penetration scenes
and their use especially in box covers and footage...you'd think his
office would have given a sterner warning.
If anything, a porn feature film about a "powerful," "deceiving," "murderous,"
"greedy," "perverse" up and coming Republican senator (words used in
the promotion of the film, not mine, and my understanding is Cross does
play the said Senator Helms himself) from the "disgusting liberal bastion
of the People's Republic of California" no less, who turns to murder
might not rub people in conservative circles, in the fluffiest way.
Though the film was released weeks ago, the political and social landscape
has changed drastically since November 7th. While the rumored continued
DOJ obscenity investigations might just be slowed due to the political
tsunami in Washington, there remains many conservative activists and
politicians at the local level vengeful and looking for blood. Where
better in a porn film that ridicules their existence and leaders (with
allusions to people like Mark "Hole"y, Ted "Fag"gard, Randy "Puke" Cunningham)?
I imagine any obscenity prosecution would be motivated over the portrayal
of Republicans and story; the fisting and violence would be a lesser
motivation in my opinion. Personally I'm incredibly surprised the film
hasn't received much more media attention at the national level; and
you know what type of attention pornographers get when they're in the
national headlines.
Or then again, Cross can claim this his work is just a ridiculous,
hardcore work of impossible fiction: I doubt California will be turning
to a Republican Senator anytime in the next millennia.
I email AVN's legal affairs correspondent Mark Kernes: "Do you think
those fisting scenes are likely to trigger an obscenity corruption? Do
you think buyers will think twice before stocking this movie?"
He replies:
As someone has already pointed out, the storyline and production values
of “Corruption” should preclude any obscenity charges based on the fisting.
Fisting in and of itself is not a basis for an obscenity charge, although
in the Los Angeles area, due to an agreement worked out in, I believe,
the early ‘90s, movies with fisting were not supposed to be sold. But
after the city’s failure to go to trial on Seymore Butts’ “Tampa Tushy
Fest,” and its settlement for a “donation” to a “victims’ restitution
fund,” that local prohibition should probably be assumed to be dead.
In fact, the city tacitly agreed that fisting, in and of itself, is
not prosecutable when it agreed that Butts could continue to sell the
tape/disk as long as he also made available a version with the fisting
removed. Of course, I’m not a lawyer, but I wouldn’t think that a retailer
should have any more problem with “Corruption” than he/she would with
any other hardcore storyline disk.
Jules Jordan Vs. Eli Cross
Jules
writes on ADT:
Eli, adultdvdempire would never knowingly take a movie with fisting,
hell they wont sell my milk enema movies...they removed the movie all
together from the site, as did gamelink...to try to say that they agreed
to take it is ridiculous, the plan should have been release both versions
and give the dist. a choice to sell it or not, dont sell it then let
them figure it out, the last people you wanna piss off is big distributors
who cant screen every movie sold to them. In most cases out the door
numbers wont cover the cost of the production, so you have to rely on
re-orders, if you have no reorders you're fucked, Do you really think
a pissed off dist. is going to reorder the other version?, but i'm sure
you're only concerned about awards ;) Bo is a great stand up guy for
offering to help out dist, but him doing business in VA, he would know
the heat that can be brought on...i'm just wondering how you talked
him into releasing this?....maybe you will do a great service to the
industry and these big distributors will open their eyes and accept
fisting movies, but i doubt it in this century.....no returns? gimme
a break....
Paul Cambria On Corruption
He emails me:
Since everyone is speaking for me you might as well know what I really
have to say.
To set the record straight. The Cambria list is simply a list of the
subjects which are most frequently selected for prosecution. It is not
a list of what I believe is obscene since only a jury can determine
that and such a determination can change from jury to jury location
to location and time to time. No one whether it be prosecutor or defense
attorney can say material is obscene or not since we never know what
a given jury will do at any given time. What we can do when we have
successfully tried many obscenity cases both state and federal as I
have is predict what may happen in any given area at a particular time.
As far as Bo's Movie: I have been Bo and Shannon's attorney for many
years and have successfully defended movies for them before juries including
Max Hardcore movies before Virginia juries. Bo asked if I could make
the services of my office available in the event defense was needed
for his movie Corruption. We are a law firm of 65 attorneys we defend
criminal cases all over the United States and have for many years with
great success. Of course we would make ourselves available for Bo and
those he is affiliated with unless there was some unavoidable conflict.
There is a vast difference between what the prosecution may think violates
the obscenity laws and what a jury would find after hearing both sides
and all the evidence.
There also has been a reference to an agreement concerning Fisting
conduct and the LA prosecutors office. I am very familiar with that
agreement since I entered into it for a client of mine many years ago.
It was not as reported that fisting per se was against the law it was
simply that unless the thumb was inserted it was not considered fisting.
The agreement was no more and no less than that and had nothing to do
with whether such conduct was unlawful again that is a determination
that only a well informed jury can make.
Fisting Is Hillary
Scott's Political Statement
She
posts on ADT about Corruption:
True, some distributors are not buying this movie, as suspected. I
believe a softer version is being edited and will be released next year.
Do you think it's more important for our industry to make "inroads to
the mainstream" rather than refuse to except our government dictating
what is appropriate for us to jerk off to? I don't. My fuck you to George
W Bush comes in the form of a fist in my ass.
She was replying to this post from Den of CAVR.com:
Gamelink has discontinued selling it. Adult Super Store will not sell
it. It is going to be a legal nightmare for the industry. As the Adult
industry is making inroads to the mainstream, why do we need this?
...Ask Patrick Collins about The Fist. Ask Seymore Butts about Tampa
Tushy. Ask Den about his amateur fisting movies!
The Government has more money than the Industry does and is willing
to spend it! It is not fun fighting the government, spending a fortune
on lawyers and ending up being a convicted felon and serving time! I
don't wish this in anyone!
I got a review copy 2 weeks before the official review package was
sent out. I am not the reviewer they are referring to in the Press Release.
Here is my review.
I think Hillary Scott had an outstanding rookie year and an even better
sophomore year. I think her performance in Britney Rears 3 is the best
performance this year. I do not wish ill will to anyone concerning this
project, I am just very fearful! I prefer inroads to mainstream instead
of setbacks.
Jules Jordan posts:
I am all for fisting in movies, I would love to do this in my movies,
however, I have a responsibility to distributors to inform them if this
content is in a release and give them the option to take it. I've spoken
to a few distributors to find out if they were now cool with fisting
in movies, to find out they had no clue corruption had this content
in it and were shocked that they unknowingly took a movie with fisting
and sold it to their customers, they said they were returning all the
movies. I watched parts of it, it looked ok, the lighting looked off
to me, but otherwise looked decent...hillary looked great....but im
surprised this movie was distributed in the current form, without an
option to distributors, i'm sure that every dist. that knew returned
it. I think it would have been a better move to release both versions
at once and give a choice of which movie to take... Hi Eli! see you
in vegas buddy....
LGI's Bo Responds To Director Jules Jordan
Luke, I was a bit surprised to read Jules comments concerning notifying
distributors about the content of movies. We distribute his movies through
LGI Digital for his new company. He or no one at his company has ever
called us and said 'Hey here is what is in this movie. Does it comply
with your local community standards?' This whole idea that producers
tell any distributors what the content of movies is (past the story
or idea) really is bullshit.
I have always been a big fan of Jules’ work and will continue to support
his company. I just find his comments a bit off base. Sex Z Pictures
sold Corruption as a Directors Cut the same way mainstream producers
sell their movies to video stores (Directors Cut / Rated Version). We
intended to deceive nobody.
As of the writing of this email Sex Z Pictures has not received a
single copy back. We have received questions asking would we take it
back on a return or exchange and we have stated we would. We have also
told everyone that has sold it if there is any legal issue we will stand
with them and defend the movie at our cost. We also have informed everyone
that we would send call tags for the movies so they do not have to ship
it in the event they wanted to return it.
Every company that expressed an interest in returning the Director’s
Cut has said that they would like the XXX version as a replacement which
will be available in a couple of weeks. Most companies have sold out
of the Director’s Cut however. Sex Z Pictures is once again 100 % sold
out of the Directors Cut at present.
Most of the websites, distributors and retailers that have sold out
of Corruption have the XXX version on reorder and consumers should be
able to find it online and back in stores for Christmas.
Sex Z Pictures is making a special offer to consumers. If they purchase
the XXX version anywhere you can send Sex Z Pictures proof of purchase
and we will send them the Directors Cut for a small shipping charge.
We at Sex Z Picture believe adult consumers have the right to see this
movie the way the director intend them to see it. We also recognize
our customer’s right to sell what version they choose to sell and we
support them.
