But that also happens to people who don’t work in the sex industry, from politicians to televangelists, from Wall Street wizards to the average Joe Schmack. Different people deal with it in different ways. I didn’t care what my clients did, but I personally didn’t like and didn’t use drugs because I felt I couldn’t perform with them, and I couldn’t enjoy and concentrate on the sex . Also, I thought that I would not be able to manage living on the edge if I had to deal with the effects of drugs on top of everything else.

He sent out that text message Friday morning, March 16. He meant that she was dead to the porn world. "Sophia Lynn," the stage name of the woman born with the first name Crystal, is no more.

The reason that virtually all moral systems frown upon porn is simple: Without stigmatizing all forms of sexual expression outside of heterosexual marriage, men won't stick around to pair-bond and raise the kids. That's why virtually all societies stigmatize masturbation, homosexuality, porn, prostitution...
Look at what has happened in Europe which has drastically reduced these stigmas -- the birth rate has dropped dramatically, well below replacement rates, and Europe is headed for the dustbin of history (or it will go Muslim).
Hating porn has nothing necessarily to do with hating sex any more than hating fast food means hating food.
If you claim to respect people who earn a living with their genitals, what exactly do you respect? What's the accomplishment? Is the ability to deny shame the equivalent of ten years of tertiary education to become a doctor?

Grebin: He's been begging us for a copy of the movie, 'cause he knows it's coming out.
Nigro: He saw it at Tribeca. The only reason we knew he was there was because we said we'd save two seats for him at the back of every screening, and the first screening, we didn't know he showed up but he did.
Grebin: He did see the movie. I saw it on a UK movie blog. Someone saw it in New York and he said that he'd been in the back row sitting next to the pornographer that's in the movie, Kevin Blatt and his girlfriend, and that's how we knew Kevin was at the movie. He came to the first one but we didn't find out until the next day, and he said later that he was so concerned about how he would be portrayed that he couldn't even tell if the movie is good or not.

No. The questions I ask are different from the ones porn producers ask. The things I am interested in are different from the BTS. My reports show up immediately while these movies do not come out for months.
Producers do not invite me on sets because they like me. They invite me because they want the publicity for their productions. There are thousands of porn movies released a year, and thousands of new porn websites going online, as well as dozens of internet columns about the business, but there's only one of me and what I do, be it via photography or the written word, is unique, and many people want that unique perspective shining on them.
It's no different than being invited to cover anything else. When I covered the San Francisco 49ers, I was given a press pass so I could sit in the press box and eat their food at a paid-for location where paid people compete on a field surrounded by people who are either paid to be there or are paying to be there.

AVN's Mark Kernes: 'ABC's 'Primetime' Parties Like It's 1994'
The first segment deals with Sunny Lane, but the show spends more time following Sunny's parents, Shelby and Mike Lane, than it does the star herself. True, the elder Lanes are in Sunny's employ for various services... but what Quinones and Primetime's editors are obviously most interested in is how the Lanes could possibly live with the fact that their daughter gets naked on camera and performs sex acts with relative strangers.
Of course, with the couple's strong Southern accents, it isn't difficult to edit the piece to imply that something salacious has been going on among the three of them ... and it doesn't help matters that the cameras catch Mike hugging wife and daughter and declaring, "We're a threesome, right?"

To the surprise of no one, this was the thesis of ABC's extended sneer at the adult industry that aired last night:

A few years ago they would have edited it to make people who work in our industry look really bad. One thing I thought was that she should have been more honest about working for Dennis Hoff. To say she was just there to help him out and council the girls was a bit silly. He admitted to me he has to look at the sex as a form of "rape" to get excited...
His answer was you cannot separate it out but to him making love to a woman he cares about is more emotional than sex. It was the all the things that were not sex that gratified him...that was he yearned for. Right there I knew male or female, pornstars sell their emotional stability for the money.
If I were back in the business now, I think I would join the quest to helping those that want to get out of the business and find themselves again. Australian Prime Minister Dines With Brisbane Pornographer Scott Phillips

I think it's good for more people in the adult world to recognize a new field that most simply choose not to go down. It is funny though, I've had more success with Blood Lake (the movie's won 3 awards in mainstream film festivals to date) than any other adult horror film I've done so far, besides our national headline gripping vampire tale Vampire Diaries. I think it says something when most adult companies shy away from me yet mainstream can't get enough of me, which tells me so much of fear by some of the success of others in this small community. I think that the core horror audiences will go after a project like this as long as it's marketed to more than the porn industry. That's the real problem right now with trying to mix horror and porn as you're only valid distribution outlet is the adult world, unless you are cutting it as an R as well. Fangoria won't touch it because of the adult nature of the movie, but if you market it the right way, it might be the best thing for them. Bottom line, horror is hot right now so maybe some of these other cats will finally wake up and smell the flesh burning.
I do however wish this company and these band of fellow filmmakers all the best of luck though with their product. I think that horror for whatever reason is a very difficult beast to master and unless you are really trying to bridge mainstream horror with porn, it won't work, unless you simply want no substance and very little acting. God knows I had my share of problems with Blood Lake, but overall, we did very well with it. But to say that Evil is the ONLY adult horror company making adult horror porn is a tad much. But I wish them well and looking forward to seeing the finished product.

I became a Jew because I found Judaism profound and true. By any measure of a good life, Jews who practice Judaism live better than non-Jews. they are more educated, more affluent, more charitable, have more stable families, less crime, etc. Any country that has not persecuted its Jews has flourished and all countries that have persecuted their jews has declined.

Unlike Christians, a Jew does not have to affirm anything to be a Jew. Jews are a people as well as a religion. We can't get rid of someone born a Jewish mother or who converts to Judaism. We're stuck with them.
