Kayla
Quinn Vs. Pamela Peaks
I call Kayla Saturday night. She's furious with Pamela over the booking
of a girl and threatens not to use her girls any more. Kayla says she
books for four production companies.
Kayla: "I'm tired of you badmouthing me behind my back. You never
have a kind word to say about anybody. Shut your mouth or I will never
book one of your girls again. I'm booking four movies next week."
"Because I'm in the big book MILF circle, people call me for recommendations.
I run in those circles. I know the people."
Alexis Devine
Interview
I talked to her Sept. 26 for 20 minutes over the phone.
Then she emailed me:
Have you ever interviewed a former boss of porn stars? I worked very
closly with several producers and it would be interesting if you could
capture the true essence of what these men and women think. How they
trick the girls into getting what they want, what the producers REALLY
say and think about these girls, and how they're sexually messed-up
from staring at naked women all day. I was a boss...and if you could
capture 'through the eyes of evil' I think it would make a really interesting
story. Most of these bosses cannot even function in real society after
a time. I was a boss..a model, but more of a boss then anything. Producers
make fun of these girls, and find ways to make them suffer a little
at each shoot. We would look for a certain type of woman, and treat
her like family then throw her out like trash when we were done. Now..that's
an interesting angle...one I'm not proud of, but maybe if these girls
saw what I saw..they would understand more.
Desiree
Cousteau Interview
From Screw magazine June 1980 as reprinted in I,
Goldstein: My Screwed Life:
Al: What else won't you do in f--- films?
Desiree: I don't know if I should say this...
Al: Say it!
Desiree: I don't do blacks. ...I did it for Swedish Erotica. I worked
with Johnny Keyes. That kind of cured me of ever wanting to work with
blacks again. ...I don't know what it was. I just started crying.
Al: What do you think about when you come?
Desiree: God... Sometimes when I'm making love I fantasize that it's an
animal or a black guy -- something that I would not normally want to do.
I get very turned on when I am embarrassed. Normally, I think of myself
as a goddess on a pedastal, so I like to be brought down.
I quit for a year because I felt so guilty. I had a nervous breakdown.
From page 202:
Cowards like Carl Ruderman,
shadow publisher of High Society, has a near monopoly on phone-sex numbers,
probably outgrossing AT&T. Ruderman stirred up the ire of environmentalists
by building a heliport on his pristine Connecticut property, scattering
wildlife every time he 'coptered in from New York. Publishers ashamed
of the sex business included the late Chip Goodman (Swank, Stag), Murray
Traub (Oui), and partners Bentley Morriff and Ralph Weinstock, who kept
their names off the Adam family of men's magazines (Adam Film World,
etc.).
"I always considered my employees to be like Kleenex -- meant to
be used and discarded." (Pg. 215)
"Adam Rifkin,
a producer, put Hef and Ron Jeremy in some of his films. The deal wsa
Ron Jeremy would get Adam laid, and Adam would put Ronnie in mainstream
movies."
Whatever Happened To Britt
Morgan?
Harry writes:
I had bought a few of her videos from her site then some weird things
happened with her website. For example When I had gone to search her
name months ago on the list of site BrittMorgan.com a caption was there
stating : You had broken your word. I have a life now you chose not
to be part of it that was fine. Then when I went into the site there
was a picture of the moon in the sky with a message on the lines of
: You always had a home, You still have a family, we loved you kid,
I hope you found what you are looking for out there. Please come home
Mandy. ( I gather Mandy is Britt's real name) Then a few weeks later
on her site a caption mureto gatio ( dead cat) and a freaky picture
of Britt in a rocking chair with long nails and a kitten with a message
: It was never an agreement, Just an appeasement, You did not keep your
word ( I forgot the last sentence but I think it said and now you will
pay, something on those lines) and then as of the present The site is
closed for construction. There is an email address for her but I have
not gotten a reply. Did something happen that I missed? I just want
to know what happen as in my eyes she was the one of the best things
to hit the porn scene.
Why
the graphic sex in Destricted is more than porn
With Impaled, Clark does to pornography what Cervantes did to tales
of chivalry, and Flaubert did to romance-fiction: He knocks the edifice
down and then rebuilds it into a more profound version, with a relentlessness
that's almost horrifying and an attention to detail that keeps the whole
thing human. "I didn't realize it would be like that," the kid says
after he's enacted his fantasy, but he sounds more puzzled than rueful.
And by the time the film was done, I had to agree with him. I didn't
know it would be like that, either.
Philip J. Starr Vs. Alec
Metro
Starr emails me:
My name is Philip Starr and while we have never met, you wrote a couple
of items about me when I took over as C.E.O. of Jill Kelly Productions.
There is a situation involving Alec Metro that I think you would be
interested.
About 5 years ago I hired Alec to produce a couple of movies. I recently
learned from someone at Hustler that Alec stiffed all or part of his
cast and/or crew by not paying them and then telling them (and is still
telling people) that I paid him by letter of credit and then revoked
the L/C so that he had no money to pay them.
And then I ran into Alec on Saturday night at the Brittnay Rears party.
He came up to me being very indignant, telling me that I ruined him
in the industry by revoking the L/C resulting in his inability to pay
people on the movie. And then he demanded my contact information since
he wanted to sue me and strongly urged me to leave the party.
Of course on Monday, I requested a copy of my bank statement from December
2001, which was when I sent him the wire transfer and the statement
clearly reflects that $25,000 was deducted from my account and wired
to Alec's company, Sand & Surf. I
am attaching herewith a copy of that statement.
L/C is letter of credit. You will see that the bank statement clearly
reflects that $25,000 was taken from my account and wired to Alec's
company, Sand & Surf Productions - there was no letter of credit involved.
If need be, I will be more than happy to put you in touch with my banker
who will verify that there was a wire transfer for $25,000 in cash and
that there was never a letter of credit involved.
The statement shows Philip
Starr with $16 left in his bank account.
Alec
Metro told me his side of things in June 2003.
I called him Sept. 26, 2006, and he gave me the same story about Phillip
Starr.
Alec said one check bounced on an LFP shoot but that is has been made
up.
Other sources say many people on that LFP shoot got bad checks or weren't
paid at all.
An LFP source writes: "We took a chance on Alec and gave him a few
movies to shoot under the VCA brand. The first title turned out very good.
The second title "Kink", had multiple problems. I do know that several
people on the crew and talent were left with out getting paid. In fact
we have been doing what we can at LFP to cover those folks who've been
screwed by Mr. Metro. I've told most of the vendors and agents not to
work with him until he covers all the bounced checks."
Three models with bounced checks from that shoot were represented by
Derek of LADirectModels. This made Derek mad and he probably considered
blackballing LFP. Eventually the matter was settled.
Alec: "When I shot Pin Up, one week prior to the shoot, LFP took
$5,000 from the budget. As a result, I bounced checks for a total of $2,400.
It's Jana Oso and Rita Faltayano."
LFP Takes Internet Operations In-House
XBiz reports:
LOS ANGELES — LFP Internet Group has said it will overhaul operations
for all of its online properties, including Hustler.com and BarelyLegal.com,
by bringing a number of key business functions in-house.
LFP President Michael Klein said the decision to end the company’s
long-term relationship with WebQuest for Internet administration marks
a change of direction, moving LFP from a consultant-oriented online
operation to one that is managed more directly.
I reported
in December 2005 that this would happen:
LFP Leaving Webquest
[Dec
27: Webquest Demands A Retraction]
Webquest (one of internet porn's most prestigious and respected companies)
has handled all of LFP's online ventures for the past five or so years.
Now I hear they are parting ways.
A source writes: "Have you done any write-ups on the reason why
LFP is leaving Webquest? There is a juicy story there, a web of lies
and deception. Larry gets f---ed part II."
On LFP's side, they certainly believe they've been screwed by Webquest
and its owner Ken Lawson (company is run by Bruce Bonaventura and Kjell).
Many people at Webquest are nervous about their jobs.
LFPers are convinced that Webquest has ripped them off. I don't think
many, if any of the Webquest people, will catch on at LFP.
Only now is Larry Flynt catching on what a crummy job Webquest has
been doing for them.
If LFP leaves Webquest, I suspect that Steve Hirsch and Vivid will
leave Webquest too.
What Will Gail
Harris Bring To LFP Internet?
Sexycity
writes on JBM: "That's a blessing. Hustler's site tours are
wretched for a company that has so much amazing content in its vaults.
They just got hosted galleries this year, fancy that."
Best I can see and from what tattlers have told Gail Harris is acting
as something of a business development and clean up consultant to Larry
Flynt. She has been a behind the scenes player for years. Her own company
Falcon Foto is one of the largest suppliers of images to the web and
to magazines.
Gail has been rumored to be going through the company finding ways
for Larry to make more money and grow out the business.
She floated a list of ways to trim fat in the Internet division and
its now making more money. Rumor has it that next year will be even
bigger. Gail was the one who originally brought Webquest to Jim Kohls
to design the sites; Webquest must have convinced Kohls to let them
run the whole thing instead.
She is currently working with the video division. Gail has been around
since the beginning of the Internet and has a history of knowing who
to put in business with each other. She created Barely Legal and Hometown
Girls and knows what she is talking about when it comes to knowing what
sells and who can best sell it.
From
my December 26, 2005 update:
Webquest Employees - Time To Look For A New Job
"Absolutely," says Deep Throat. "Webquest has been spinning
its wheels for years. By about 2003, Webquest had taken LFP as far as
they could take them. Laurel (who oversees LFP internet marketing) is
a nice person, but Webquest does not have the resources/talent to grow
the LFP monster.
"Platinumbucks, Lightspeed (epitomy of the Barely Legal brand),
Braincash, know how to take things to the next level. Playboy learned
a hard lesson. They spent $30 million, had 144 employees, and they only
lost money. Hanco (2000) had money, made promises, couldn't deliver.
"It comes down to one simple thing -- will people buy it when
they see it? Webquest's tours for Hustler products are crap. They look
like the original Cybererotica tours from years ago. They don't express
anything about the particular niche they are in. They don't show enough.
They rely heavily on text but nobody is going to read it. Hustler has
a great inventory of images and video. That's what your tour should
represent -- a magazine or video-style tour. You should have trailers
that people can watch and some hot images. Their tours don't have any
of that.
"Then you look at Nasty Dollars or MakeFu--ingMoney. Chris (MFM)
came out of left-field from Brad Shaw's shadow. What makes his tours
convert so well? PornDollars converts. Their tours scream at people.
Why doesn't LFP contract with them?
"Laurel asks webmasters for traffic. They send some. It doesn't
convert. They're not going to send anymore unless there is a complete
overhaul."
Tommy writes Sept. 26:
Many animals will go off alone and quietly when it is time die. Perhaps
this is what Michael Klein is doing with Hustler online. The idea that
the web operations can go in house with any chance of success is as
absurd as the man holding the position he is in. The mere fact that
Mansion productions are now the right arm is laughable at best. Playboy
gets the mighty Adult.com and Hustler has Mansion productions....Is
today April 1st? Did Larry lose big in Vegas? With so many amazing web
companies out there to partner with Hustler chooses some middle of the
pack company? It is heart breaking to see where things have gone lately.
Michael Klein is not even in the same league as Jim Kohls. Having Michael
Klein at the wheel of that company is a an embarrassing stain on the
rich history of Larry Flynt and the Hustler brand. I am to understand
that he has an equal amount of disrespect behind closed doors in the
offices of LFP as he does within the rest of the community of adult.
People really want to see Larry bounce back, they want to see Hustler
re-capture the magic one more time the way they did back in 97-98. When
you get news like this, it just feels bad. You know that once again
a foolish half baked plan has launched yet another failure just waiting
to tumble down the mountain. Michael Klein will see the same fate as
all the other smug talking heads. For those who have watched the Company,
it is easy to see that Larry likes to keep the revolving door spinning
and this guy has no idea he just packed his bag. It is unfortunate that
Larry is unable to find anyone that he can tolerate long enough to steer
him clear of decisions like this. There was a proud man who was the
leader of this industry once. Now when you hear announcements like this
it just makes the heart sink and wonder "Will this be the guy who will
be at the wheel like JK for the next 20 years?" Hey Larry, Iceberg right
ahead!
Shelley
Lubben: LIE #1: Women Enjoy Making Porn Movies
Shelley
posts on MySpace:
That's me as "Roxy" 12 years ago.
Don't believe the lie. I was a mentally ill, drug addicted, alcohol
dependent, attention seeking, abused little girl with no self esteem
who hated the world and was rejected by her parents and thrown out of
the house on the street at age 18.
LIE #2 Women who make porn come from healthy backgrounds.
It's easy to research the backgrounds of porn stars online and read
about child abuse, sexual abuse, exposure to pornography at a young
age, teenage runaways, parental abuse, alcoholism, and strict religious
uprbrinings. I never met a porn star who comes from a healthy childhood
and background. Of course we LIE to our fans and tell them that.
Cara
Lott responds:
If you had all those problems to begin with you should never have entered
the adult business in the first place. It takes a person of strength
and character to succeed and thrive in the adult industry, you have
neither. I've been in the biz for 28 years, didn't come from a broken
home or dysfunctional family. I was never sexually abused or coerced
by evil pornographers. I don't use drugs or alcohol, never have. I entered
the adult business of my own free will and I continue of my own free
will. I am college educated and in full control of my mental faculties.
I have no regrets and never will. Don't blame the adult industry for
your emotional shortcomings they are yours and yours alone. Your problems
seem to be extremely deep rooted. Perhaps you should seek psychological
help for the problems you had BEFORE you entered the adult industry.
Alexis Devine aka Lisa writes:
Does it make you feel good to be thrown in the trash for being a 'mature'
actress in this buisness. Most of us here are in full control of out
mental facilities. It doesn't take strength and character to suceed..it
takes a death within yourself to spread your legs for the camera. I
used to hire women like you, and do you know what type of things were
said about you models? You would curl in a ball of shame for what these
people REALLY think of you behind your back. I succeeded, I felt great,
I WON in that buisness, but you know what? Fantasy and reality begin
to blur...and after awhile I didn't know who my real friends were. And
neither do you. I have met wondeful people in the buisness that will
support whatever decisions I make in life, but for the most part...they
all called me a crack-whore and a quitter because I decided to quit.
What are you going to be in another 5 years? Alone...with no one left.
You won't even know who you were before you did all this. So...be proud
Cara now, because tomorrow's another day of men teling you they love
you and they're your friends, then throw money at you to see your genitals...yeah...that's
REAL love, huh? I always thought that was the funniest part of it all
"I love you Alexis, now get naked." What a waste of the word LOVE. You
are a beautiful woman Cara...but who are you REALLY at the end of the
day?
Becca Brat writes:
Cara, Even if everything you said about yourself is factual, what about
the other 99.9% of girls in the industry? I did well over 200 films
(in 5 years), and I have never met a single girl who did not have her
fair share of problems- mental, emotional, drug and/or alchohol addictions,
etc. I have a question for you. If you are college educated, why are
you still in the business? I looked you up, and you are only listed
to have just over 200 films to your name- IN 28 YEARS. The money couldn't
be worth it at that point. Don't come down on Shelley for speaking her
mind- her life has greatly improved since leaving XXX. You, on the other
hand, are nearly 50 years old, and still having sex for money.
Shelley Lubben writes:
Thanks Cara for responding. It sounds like you have a neat little argument
all packaged up for your free speach coalition events. But I would like
all of us to take a closer realistic look at Cara Lott.
First, I would not consider you an "expert" in hardcore pornography.
From your profile on L-ke F-rd web site you admit you regret doing a
gang bang. You don't do anal. Sounds like you mainly did softer porn
and not the hardcore porn that I and many other women did and still
do. So you wouldn't be as familiar with the sexual trama that many of
the women who do hardcore porn, which is more prevalent today, now would
you? Your own words can be found [here].
Cara says the only thing she regrets in her career is her comeback
film Heartfelt 2. "I did a gangbang. I don't know why I did it. I swore
I would never do more than two guys at a time. I did a gangbang. That
was too much for me. Five guys."
(Shelley: Sounds like you were "coerced". What happen to that full
control of mental faculties you claim to have?)
Duke: "What's the difference between having sex with two guys and having
sex with five?"
Cara: "It's easier. I've got only two holes that can be used because
I don't do anal. I did a fourway with three guys and that's when I made
up my mind not to do any more than two because one gets left stroking
his ---- while you're working on the other two. I don't know why I did
five but I wish I hadn't."
You ALSO said this Cara: "I had a different mindset than most of the
girls in the industry."
So if you had a different mindset than MOST of the girls in the industry
then why are you posting here on my blog? You haven't experienced the
level of degrading sexual trauma that most hardcore porn actresses go
through. So it seems you do not know what you're talking about. And
anyways, you couldn't speak the truth if the porn industry paid you
to. The native language of ALL porn stars is to lie. We are paid to
lie Cara. We are paid to fake orgasms and go on and on about our salacious
appetites for sex. It's all bull sh*t and you know it. You don't have
the "strength" or "character" to get out of the porn industry so instead
you defend what you can't overcome. I also notice you aren't able to
have healthy relationships either. This is typical for porn stars.
Let's take a look a closer look at Miss Cara Lott: She's been married
twice (once to a guy she got into porn as an actor, other than this
Brazilian, she never dated anyone within the industry). "It is hard
on relationships. The men in my life would use my job as an excuse for
their bad behavior (cheating, drug use). They'd say, 'Well, I've got
to put up with you f------ other men for a living.' To which I'd reply,
'What will you use for an excuse if I quit my job?'"
Duke: "Do you think a relationship can ever work when one partner is
[having sex for a living]?"
Cara: "Absolutely. I've been in several stable, longterm relationships.
The only problems I've had were when my men were feeling insecure about
themselves, whether it was a bad day at work or weight gain. Suddenly
my job would become an issue. I said to them, don't make me choose between
you and my job, unless you are going to pay my bills for me, which I
don't want."
SEVERAL LONG TERM RELATIONSHIPS? You are a double minded woman Cara.
First you're in abusive "bad behavior" relationships and then you say
you have had SEVERAL long term relationships. Which is it or is it that
you've had several abusive long term relationships? I believe you have
two divorces under your belt. Sorry to hear about all the abuse.
Unlike you Cara, I have been married ONE TIME for 12 years now and
I have a healthy relationship with my husband and three beautiful daughters.
Where's your happy stable healthy family at Cara? You're about 45 years
old and have two divorces and are now living with a significant other?
No kids, right? Sounds promising. And I also notice that you are very
unstable and unable to hold down a normal job or maintain a career.
You went into the health care field after leaving the adult film industry
but didn't feel your talents were "appreciated" so you fell right back
into the arms of the "comfy" porn industry. A dog always returns to
its vomit. What's wrong Cara? Is normal life too hard for you?
I talk more about this in my upcoming book. It's almost impossible
for porn stars to get out of the biz and have a normal life when they
have to try and function with mental disorders, childhood sexual abuse
and abuse from involvment in the porn industry. Sorry to hear you can't
make it in real life Cara.
If we all take a closer look at Cara Lott we will see an unhealthy
unstable double minded mentally ill woman who is grasping at straws
to justify her unhappy life in the porn industry. Oh, and it seems you
also admit that porn stars hate men:
Cara: "Yes. Do I know what men can do when they want to get away with
things? Oh yeah. I try not to think about it. I don't want to hate men.
There are too many wonderful guys out there. But many porn stars and
escorts, after a while, just can't stand men. You see them for what
they really are. We know how they can be."
Yes, men must seem horrible to you especially when you own father LAUGHED
and thought it was so cute when you said you wanted to be a playboy
centerfold. What kind of sick father says those things to his eight
year old daughter. Probably a father who's into porn. Was your father
a porn addict Cara? I'll bet he had lots of playboy magazines laying
around and you use to read them when he wasn't looking. Please tell
us the truth Cara. How else would you know what a Playboy Centerfold
was at age 8?
In your interview with L-ke F-rd:
Duke: "When you were a little girl, what did you want to be when you
grew up?"
Cara: "A Playboy centerfold. That's what I told my father and he just
laughed. I was eight years old. He thought it was a big joke. He had
one of his buddies over. He said, tell John what you want to be when
you grow up. I said, I want to be a Playboy centerfold. They thought
it was so cute. How little did they know."
And you said your mother is your biggest fan. Your whole family is
sick and needs therapy. You also admit you didnt get much attention
as a child:
Cara: "I don't know. I was very shy. I didn't get a lot of attention."
Let me explain it to you in simple terms Cara. You were seeking attention
and love as a child and your parents didn't give it to you. You were
exposed to pornography as a child. At age 14 you were giving oral sex
according to your own words. That is called sexual child abuse. So YES
Cara you have the typical porn star background. I also talk about this
in my upcoming book. I'll be sure to send you a copy. I'm not the one
who needs therapy. You are. I feel sad for you. I will pray this week
for you and hope that God gives you the "strength" and "character" to
get out of the PIG PEN and do something excellent with your life. Now
THAT takes REAL character and that's why only a couple of us porn stars
have done it. Only God gives character like that. Your life is worth
more than wallowing in the mud with a bunch of pigs. If you ever decide
you want out of porn, I'll help you in a heart beat. But please don't
blog here again or I'll make sure I expose ALL OF YOUR LIES.

Sept 23. 9:15 p.m. After some perceived slight (some guy called her a
"Little girl"), Aaliyah started screaming.
We're in a residential neighborhood. All Media Play's invitation emails
implored us to keep quiet so as to not bother the neighbors of Remmet
Studios in Canoga Park.
Aaliyah shrieks: "You don't know what I've been through. I've been
sick. I've been poisoned... I've been punched. I've gone through so much."
Bob from Dane calms her down. He holds her. She lashes out at him with
her fists and screams.
9:40 p.m. Jeff Mullen pulls Aaliyah aside and they have quiet chat.
I run into Suzy
Mandel, who starred
in 1981's Blonde Ambition and appeared naked in several porn movies (though
she never had sex on camera). She's working as an assistant to Jennifer
James.
Suzy looks her age (about 50). She's put on weight and her hair has turned
grey. Her attitude is cheery and her figure is busty. She retains her
British accent even though she's lived in the America since 1980.
Christina Aguchi says she will graduate with her Business degree in a
year. "I love the attention of being a porn star and I hate negative
people," she says.
Jasmine
Byrne audio interview.
Jasmine says she's written a movie that spoofs Jennifer Lopez. It will
be shot in a month by Jeff Mullen and Adam & Eve and Jasmine will
star. "I get married a lot. I'm actually going to be singing in the
movie, my own lyrics, my own music."
Luke: "You wrote the script?"
Jasmine: "I have a lot of talent. I wrote my own music. Do you want
to hear me sing?"
She imitates Mariah Carey. The resemblance is frightening.
Jasmine: "I'm working on a demo and an album. I'm going to try to
crossover.
"I'm going to write a lot of stories about my nightmares... I'll
be the next Stephen King."
"I've had a few songs stolen. I heard them on the radio by one-hit
wonders."
Luke: "What do you write poems about?"
Jasmine: "The hardships of life. Relationships.
"I want to remake the song Rumors."
"I've had a hard life. My mom left me when I was younger. Everybody
who has done something wrong to me it makes me put more feeling into my
writing. When I sing it, everybody understands."
Luke: "How does being a porn star affect relationships?"
Jasmine: "It's hard. I would never date someone outside of the industry.
Hopefully there's a gentleman out there."
Luke: "Did you lose any friends [because] you entered porn?"
Jasmine, who grew up near Riverside: "Before I was in porn, I didn't
have any friends. Everybody hated me. I don't know why. I was a nice girl.
I almost got suspended. I almost got expelled. I was always fighting."
Luke: "Have you made friends since you entered porn?"
Jasmine: "Yes, it is easy for me because so many people in the industry
have gone through similar things. You can totally relate to each other.
You break down walls. I've lost a few friends in this industry too but
this is L.A. You've got to expect that."
After telling what she likes about the industry, Jasmine says she does
not like the "disrespect. A lot of male talent and a lot of people
in the industry see you as a porn star and they only see a little girl
who likes to f---. I'm not that. I have a huge woman's worth. I get pissed
off. Everybody knows I have a temper. I go from zero to boiling point
in two seconds."
"You really do have a camera of death," says a woman. "Every
time I go to your site, I reevaluate my whole body image."
Gram Ponante moves away from me.
"Did I offend you?" I ask.
"No, not at all," he says. "I just hear time's winged
chariot hurrying near."

Amber Rayne's drunk.
One old photographer, about 60, wheels a canister of oxygen around with

linked into his nose. The man appears to have one foot in the grave but
he'll risk everything to photograph porn chicks.
Van Styles tells me: "You're not supposed to wear white after labor

I hope LFP's head of production, Drew Rosenfeld, doesn't get too caught
up with accounting issues and lose his creative vision.

After thumbing through the pics from the Britney Rears “thing” party,
I felt sad for the people.
The porn industry had some real good looking girls once or they were
much better than the current crop of entitled pork chops and average
at best dangerously over inflated self image morons of today. The girls
in the pics look like the third tier girl who always wanted to be as
pretty as her friends with too much make up on and uncomfortable trying
to look sexy. To think these are the better looking ones photographed
at the event i am speaking of. The rest looked like trannies or below
average girls or flat out unattractive ones who just completed a “glamour
shots” shoot at a Wisconsin mall.
The guys; I have just one word and that is C-r-e-e-p-y. Jeff Mullen
looks like a fugitive. The rest of the cast of characters look like
lost souls who have forgotten how to get out of the rut of porn. It
is sad to see the dark lives of the below average walking down red carpets
and squeezing into tight fitting clothes looking like animated sausages,
or taking a Fresno Denny’s waitress and dressing her in Prada only to
perpetuate the delusions of grandeur that they are like celebrities.
The black girl captured the whole thing perfectly. Cold stare, numb,
unable to even fake the excitement. Sad… There was a time when girls
just wanted to get paid. I have no idea who was who in the pictures
in terms of the girls; to me they are sad little girls who have lost
their way who will wake up one day with an incurable drug addiction
and a huge tab due. While [pornographers] slither away to cash another
check and prey upon the insecurities of another vulnerable life.

Hello Luke,
I was surprised and happy to see you at our Britney Rears 3/LA Vice
DVD release party Saturday night. We had a wonderful time with great
moments of wildness and craziness. We had 8 bartenders pouring tasty
Krol Vodka (they love the adult industry) and other drinks, great music
and enough nooks and cubby holes to help put the word ‘porn’ back into
‘porn party’.
Sex Z Pictures was front and center with their movie ‘LA Vice’ and
even executives from Hustler Video where there supporting the Hillary
Scott blockbuster ‘Britney Rears 3’ from X-Play. I must respond to the
quick post on your site that headlines ‘Aaliyah Brown Freaks out at
Britney Rears 3 Party’.
The doors to Remmet Studios and the adjoining warehouse where our party
took place had not yet even opened when I was told that a girl had started
screaming at studio owner Sascha Koch standing near the red carpet entryway.
I quietly informed Aaliyah and her people that it was best if she didn’t
come into the party and she quickly departed. I did receive a phone
call from her the following day and she apologized about the episode
and wanted me to forward her apology to Sascha. The point is that this
was not even related to our party at all because she never got in.
I laughed when I read the post by ‘Tommy’ who claimed that I looked
like a fugitive. Maybe he was right as I am no soap opera stud but I
know I take a better picture than the one put into your party photo
gallery. Remember, Luke I am still in the dating pool and that photo
will frighten most girls away from weekend BBQ night at Mullen’s house.
Damn, I do look like a fugitive! To thank Tommy for pointing this out
to me, if he emails me I will hook him up with a free month of DVDs
from SugarDVD.com.
It was a great night and I thought the ladies looked gorgeous especially
Hillary Scott, Jasmine Byrne and Mika Tan who was VJing for Inside Erotica.
Amy Reid looked nice as she strode in and out in front of the Playboy
TV and Spice Studios cameras and the girls were all pretty entertaining.
The point is that we work in a difficult business and every once in
a while we like to have some fun. Wait until you see what we have planned
for Sex Z Pictures’ movie of the year contender and political thriller
‘Corruption’ on election night, Tuesday, November 7th. This will be
one hell of a political fun-raiser.

Jessica Drake Using Multiple IDs
MikeSouth.com reports:
While I have received responses from Wicked, so far my request to speak
with Jessica has gone unanswered. Here is what I have on this: It came
to my attention through one of the video companies that she shot for
that they had two different IDs on her with two very different names.
Now Jessica has been married a few times so one could explain it that
way, BUT The different IDs were both United States Paassports, Both
different First, Middle and Last Names and Both Valid at the same time.
That was enough to get me looking into this.
As it stands now I have uncovered more than six different identiies
she has used, including birthdates that differ. I am holding off on
anything else untill I get the results of a much more thorough investigation.
If your company has shot Jessica Drake you might want to check your
IDs on file for her, there is a very good chance that they are invalid,
particulalry if they show a birth year other than 1971. If you have
any information or questions email me (mike@mikesouth.com). It does
NOT appear that she ever worked while underage but if you get your 2257
records checked and you have multiple IDs on her you could have a problem.
Penthouse
Plucks Top GQ Editor
For many magazine types, being a Condé Nast editor in chief is the
ultimate career coup. But there are only so many slots to go around.
Apparently that's why Mark Healy, articles editor at GQ, has decided
to bolt the company to become editor in chief of Penthouse. Diane Silberstein,
Penthouse's president and publisher, announced the hire to staff this
afternoon, noting that editor Peter Bloch and creative director Frank
Devino report to him beginning Oct. 30.
Playboy did what?
Tommy writes:
On the surface it looks like Playboy is making big city Harvard grad
power moves. But are they? Jenna is and will be the first lady of adult.
Once she stops performing her brand will die. No question about it.
Even if she is doing signings and becomes the elder states person of
the industry for the next 15 years she will not have the sizzle and
the pull she has now. When she retires the Jenna brand will tumble.
So Playboy buys a hardcore arm for the company that is solely based
on the name recognition of an icon in the twilight of her career.
Red Flag one Why? Because other companies could have been acquired
for less money who will not have a sharp drop off in brand appeal. The
purchase of Adult.com? This has a little merit I suppose Lensman has
been successful in carving a loyal following with his GFY, and his cash
programs have been very strong. So was it the right fit for Playboy
when they could have bought the mobile distributors, live cam operators,
or a VOD site?
Red Flag two Now the deal that should have them pulled over for being
drunk at the wheel. What benefit will Playboy get for buying AVN? If
they were wildly silly profitable I would say I get it. But even a casual
observer of the industry knows the plane has already hit that building.
AVN is struggling to keep pace with new comer Xbiz and has been solely
relying on its legacy in the industry to remain in business and turning
a profit and I would think all of the over educated talking heads over
at Playboy could even tell you that stepping into a dated brand that
has become more of a Nemesis to companies than a resource is not a good
move.
The good news is Playboy has all the time in the world to figure out
this trial and error approach to strengthening and broadening the brand
in adult. The reason is there are only three significant brands in adult
and Playboy is one of them. So making amateur moves and foolish purchases
really do not impact them all that much as Playboy as a brand is a global
institution. They could buy the company that produces the clapper and
it would not preclude them from being a force in adult. The same holds
true with Hustler and Penthouse. Penthouse should be dead. It should
be buried but the power of the brand allowed someone to pick it up from
Guccione when it should have been gone forever. The guy ran it as far
into the ground as a business can go without having criminal charges
and it still lives today.
Hustler has been adrift for so long it is expected and recognized as
normal and Hustler can be off course for another 20 years and still
be on top of the game. They are the brands that people know, they are
the brands that people relate to, they are the brands that stared us
in the face at every 7-11 and magazine rack for 40 plus years and because
they have weathered the storm they will never die. In fact they will
live forever regardless of the mistakes, who the current owners are,
what companies are bought, they will be here. They will conquer, and
they will win and there is nothing anything or anybody can do about
it.
My guess is AVN will be sold off within two years if the acquisition
does move forward. AVN will be spun off and become a mere shadow of
what it once was. This news should have Alec Helmy smiling from ear
to ear as it paves the way for his XBiz brand to usher in a new dawn
in adult trade news. As previously stated it really does not matter
because the big three will always be the big three. Brands come and
go especially online. The smart move is to figure out how to get in
the door of the big three and sell out when you are on top.

Fast
Forward: Confessions of a Porn Screenwriter
From Publishers Weekly:
In a post-James Frey world, it's wise for humor author Spitznagel
(Planet Baywatch) and his publisher to include a disclaimer stating
that "some elements have been exaggerated, embellished and (at times)
outright fabricated." Indeed, Spitznagel's hilarious account of his
attempt to write the Great American Porno-one to be celebrated as much
for dialogue and plot as for raw depictions of hardcore sex-is too bizarre
(and too funny) to be completely true. But to Spitznagel's credit, his
latest isn't a dirty book; sure, it's full of colorful descriptions
and crass wit, but it also chronicles a shady industry that many readers
want to know about-but are afraid to ask-through the familiar story
of an artist's struggle for both integrity and a paycheck. While the
first chapter reads like a magazine article (portions of the book have
appeared in slightly different form in magazines Hitch, 3AM and Salon.com),
the author quickly finds his footing, writing in an often cynical, occasionally
sympathetic voice that suits his subject. Entertaining throughout, Spitznagel
caps this dirty tour of duty with his ingenious script for a Spinal
Tap-like mockumentary, called (naturally) "Butt Crazy!"
The
Despair of the Long Distance Male Porn Star
Ernest Greene
aka Ira Levine posts on Nina.com:
I absolutely agree that if he had been a female performer, both mainstream
and adult media would have been all over this story. It's just not as
sexy when tragedy strikes a man in the context of porn. I'm sure Nina
will speak to this in greater detail and with greater eloquence, but
this seems yet another example of porn, reflecting the society around
it, devalues the emotional lives of men.
Tales of drug addiction, childhood abuse, rape and incest and other
misfortunes are the typical stuff of porn gossip and so-called legitimate
journalism when it comes to women in porn, but until something like
this, or Cal Jammer's similar suicide years ago, momentarily attract
some attention to the struggles of men in this field, they are expected
to suffer in silence with whatever troubles their minds.
Porn bashers, right and left, who can't wait to wring their sweaty
hands over the tragic condition of female sex workers seem to forget
that much of the most demanding work of this industry is done by men,
and those men have issues of their own. In all fairness, a kind of macho
code in the business makes it difficult for men to air those issues,
but that is no excuse for the failure of others to recognize them.
Nina Hartley adds: "Ernest was very eloquent, indeed. He's spot-on
when he says that the emotional lives of the men garner zero interest
in the business or, usually, in the fan base. It's just another example
of the double standard: women are poor little creatures that must be protected
from sex while men are soulless idiots who get what they deserve. "You're
getting paid for sex, what more could you ask for?" seems to be the attitude."

Where Does The Money Go?
Ben writes: "I
just read on Yahoo that a standard HIV test $2.50 and $8. Why in the
hell am I paying $120 so that crystal meth porn whore will let me poke
her dirty stink hole? What is "Dr" and I use that term loosely Sharon
Mitchell doing with the $100 extra? Have you been in AIM
lately? The people "working" there make you feel like they are doing YOU
a big favor by waiting on you. Then they talk on the phone for 15min while
you wait for your piss cup? This is not acceptable."
The standard HIV test is very different from the industry's PCR DNA test.
You'd have a hard time finding a PCR-DNA test cheaper than what AIM offers.
Busted writes: "Kelly..., a pornstar recently went into AIM with
a cup of someone elses piss and passed it off as her own. She was over
heard at a party telling some of her friends how she did this. This should
not be taken lightly. It only takes one girl to infect many. Aim should
take care of this and perhaps Aim should have someone watch the people
piss into the cup, this would avoid anyone from cheating on their tests."

aka Frank Pohl writes:
My mother is a famous witch and fortune-teller in Germany. She dedicated
me to Satan, when I was in her womb. I grew up with supernatural demonic
manifestations and was early tormented through this manifestations.
My father was an alcoholic and beat me up more then once. When I was
12, I was sexually abused and became a prostitute at the central train
station in Hamburg. The self-hatred was very strong. With 16 years I
began to take drugs and in a satanic ritual dedecatet myself over to
Satan. He promised me supernatural sexual powers in return for my soul.
What is a soul worth when it is sick? Nothing. I gave him NOTHING.......
I thought. So with 17 years I sold myself to women, as a professional
callboy and with 18, I began my work as the youngest Porn actor in Germany.
Hardcore porn,of course. After many years of Sex, and Drugs and Rock-n-Roll,
I was burned out and wanted to shoot myself in the head. But Jesus came
to me and warned me that HELL would wait for me, if I would leave this
world without knowing HIM! HE taught me HIS work on the Cross and I
understood. How happy was I, when God the Father helped me through HIS
HOLY SPIRIT to find Jesus!

of Corinth, he's the one who kicked his pregnant wife. Played him a

Gay Talese spent three months interviewing me for his epic history
of the sexual revolution, Thy Neighbor's Wife. ...Gay was a champion
stud. He f---ed my wife, Mary Philips. But my marriage was already ending.
Mary got upset, told his wife Nan, and it created a furor. I remember
having dinner at Gay's house with David Halberstam. I thought ours would
be a lifetime friendship. But I failed to realize that every writer
betrays his friends. As the saying goes: a writer either betrays his
friends or himself. I was merely a subject to Gay Talese and Philip
Roth; they examined me like a bug. And I'm guilty of the same thing.
Most porn bimbos I interviewed for Screw and Midnight Blue meant nothing.
In a pensive mood after the dissolution of his fifth marriage, Goldstein

My first wife Lonnie I married for spite because her family hated me
since I was not rich. My favorite wife, Mary, I married in 1968 because
she was a flight attendant and I could fly at a discount. My third wife
Gena was a jew-ess and I wanted to experience castration. She also produced
the spawn of the devil, my only ex-son. My fourth wife Patty, I married
in 1989 the year my mother and father died and I didn’t want to be alone.
She was like the flower girl in My Fair Lady and I wanted to mold her.
She stalked me and after the marriage I found out she was a lesbian.

Announces Hollywood ’07 Conference and 2007 Awards
LOS ANGELES – On the heels of its highly successful July conference
in Las Vegas, adult media company XBIZ has announced plans for a February
event that will feature a slew of intensive workshops covering a full
slate of progressive, forward-looking topics, intimate networking opportunities,
and the highly anticipated 5th Annual XBIZ Awards.
The XBIZ Hollywood ’07 Industry Conference will be held Feb. 7-8 at
the historic Roosevelt Hotel in Hollywood, Calif. The 2007 XBIZ Awards
will be held Thursday, Feb. 8., as the grand finale to the conference.
“It’s about time an industry conference is held in Hollywood, California,
the entertainment capital of the world,” XBIZ Publisher Tom Hymes said.
“We’re especially excited to be holding this event at the Roosevelt
Hotel, a venue that exudes glamour and style and a relaxed atmosphere
in which to enjoy a full slate of seminars, workshops and events.”
Hymes moved to XBiz after quitting the Free Speech Coalition. I wondered
if Tom's time at FSC was serving out a non-compete clause he had in his
AVN contract (Tom ran AVN Online magazine for five years)?
Tom replies:
I did not have a contract at AVN and never signed a non-compete clause.
That said, a period of time between two competing gigs is probably always
a good idea. I still value my time at AVN, and will always be indebted
to Paul and Darren for trusing me with their magazine. But the fact
is, I went to the Free Speech Coalition because I believed in its mission,
and still do. I consider it an essential organization no matter how
many barbs may be directed its way by the devoutly ignorant. In the
end, I resigned for reasons beyond my control. Anyone who knows the
circumstances knows I did what I had to do, and how difficult it was
for me. But it doesn't matter, the work is bigger than any individual.
The industry must continue to fund FSC or it will pay a price. For my
small part, I will assist and support FSC until the last minute of the
last day of my involvement with this industry, and maybe beyond. In
the meantime, XBIZ rocks!

I was not feeling so good so I only stayed for 40 minutes and didn't
have a chance to talk to my friend Lainie
Speiser, the Penthouse publicist.
She emails me from New York Sep. 20:
You and me both. I was running 102 fever the day before I left for
LA and I was shaky the entire time. Thursday night I hadn't eaten anything
in about 15 hours, was hopped on cold medicine and red bull and vodka.
My cousin Danny showed up to the party towards the end and I barely
recall it or him (I hadn't seen him since I was 23) but I have flashes
of seeing the look on his face while all the girls were cuddled around
me and kissing each other. That should keep my black sheep rep in tact.
LA is just crazy, much crazier than NYC but a lot slower too. How do
you guys not go out of your mind with that ridiculous traffic? Its just
maddening that no matter what time it is it still takes you two hours
to get to point a to point b.
Also funny, LA is a haven for drugs and prostitution, all very very
out in the open and ho-ing and tweaking abound! All the parties I went
to were filled with gorgeous women and mediocre looking men but I guess
they all had money which in LA is more important than looks.
What I loved. There's a lot of leniency concerning smoking grass everywhere,
the stuff is top notch, kicks ass over NYC and there were also a ton
more cigarette smokers in LA than in NY and thus a lot more outdoor
clubs/bars.

ten years. Not just because it deals with my industry, but the writing
and the comments are so thought provoking and intriguing. I simply could

at the beginning, with 8 and 16 millimeter cameras shooting loops in
New York in 1969. Then it talks about the first 3 feature porn films,
Deep Throat, Behind the Green Door, and The Devil in Miss Jones.
There is a lot of talk about the organized crime influence behind
the porn industry and a lot of comments about heavy, heavy drug use.
It also delves into John Holmes and the Wonderland murders, Reuben Sturman,
Savannah and her suicide, the AIDS scare of 1995, and a plethora of
other porn related events. What makes the book so fascinating is the
comments by the interviewees. They corralled so many people to talk
about their experiences! I consider myself lucky, because I am good
friends with Freddy Lincoln, Joey Silvera, Tricia Devereaux, and a host
of others featured in the book. Don't think for a second that I didn't
call them all up and ask them 20 questions about parts of the book!
Kelly writes:
When the book came out, AdultFYI featured several responses and reviews,
ultimately casting doubt upon the accuracy of certain portions of the
book. I believe there was a bit of criticism over how heavily Sharon
Mitchell is quoted. The main thing I do remember, though, is that they
somehow contacted Tracey Adams, who disputed Sharon's story of meeting
Warren Beatty through her.
However, I found the book to be a compelling read, much as you did.
I picked up a used hardcover, and once I got around to reading it I
couldn't put it down. It is a fascinating oral history-narrative. The
way McNeil crafts the stories as he sees them by using his own interviews
as well random quotes from pre-existing interviews can be a bit troubling,
but it's also his editing that makes it such an engaging read. Considering
that the book was published in 2005, I was a bit surprised that it stops
its story at 1998. However, aside from how long the book had been in
the works and how much work it must have entailed Legs probably got
to the Marc Wallace story and realized that there was no better way
to end than on the unexpected love story of Tricia Deveraux and John
Stagliano.
Tricia Devereaux writes:
It is an engaging read. But I'm glad you brought up the pre-existing
interviews - very few of which are credited as such, which makes it
seem like the interview and corresponding quotes were obtained by Leggs
and his staff. If you consider that over half of my portion in this
story was gleaned from L-ke F-rd's site (when it was actually L-ke F-rd),
take it as you will. Oh, and I can certainly vouch for Christian playing
20 questions with me. Cracked me up - he was so enthusiastic about asking
me which parts were actually true.
Skronker posts: "I enjoyed reading it and read it very quickly (and
mostly high on painkillers, how appropo). I was disappointed to see how
much material was lifted from other sources that might have been researched
firsthand (latter-day chapters)."
Breaking News
David emails: "Lori Lust has just announced that she has been pre-nominated
for Performer of the Year by AVN in 3006! She'll be 1048 years old then.
Maybe she'll get the Oldest Porn Star in History award. Maybe someone
should really tell her that there is no such thing as "pre-nomination"."

I'm pre- nominated for performer of the year by AVN 3006. My acting
skills are very high and i'm a great character actress. I'm also in
perfect shape all the time. I live in Sherman Oaks , California. I have
only been an adult model for less then a year but im have many write-ups.
I'm looking for any adult jobs, fetish or bondage jobs, mainstream or
contract offers from large porn companies. Most the shooters say I even
look better in person and even refer me for jobs. The shooters love
my acting skills plus i'm easy to work with.
Cloud9Content

Cloud9content must be re-organizing because this is on today's
edition of The Hun TGP website(thehun.net):
Usually when companies go out of business their affliate program gets
shutdown as well. This is the first time I have seen bethemask.com which
was entirely produced by Cloud9content/Scott Del Amo listed on this
website. Just so you know, it costs money to get listed on thehun and
other TGP websites. I doubt Scott is bankrupt.
AVN Sold To Playboy?
A source writes: "Paul Fishbein just sold AVN to a company outside
the adult biz. He's retiring. Darren Roberts and several other staff members
will remain on board."
Playboy has been on a buying rampage over the past year, acquiring the
adult.com franchise and Club Jenna (I broke that story in December of
2005 but the deal was not made public until June 2006).
AVN Editor Mike Ramone emails me 9/18:
In response to your item, I relay to you the following statement from
AVN’s owners: “The fact is that everyone is aware of this but the owners
themselves. None of our companies (including AVN) have been sold.”
Paul Fishbein emails me 9/18: "Shame on you for printing this. Completely
false. Irresponsible and shameful. Your f---ing anynymous sources are
full of s---. Total disgrace."
I believe Fishbein emailed me from Philadelphia where this deal was probably
cut. AVN employees will be the last to know.
A second reliable source tells me 9/19: "Fishbein is full of it."
Paul tells MikeSouth.com: "We
are actually looking at EXPANDING our business, so we 've hired an investment
banker to help us with some strategic consulting. It's the same person
who helped Club Jenna make their deal with Playboy. So I assume he was
seen with one of us and someone made a very broad, very incorrect assumption.
We've honestly never had any conversations with anyone at Playboy about
acquiring AVN. Our only deal with them is that they are our Broadcast
partners for the AVN Awards Show."
Daniel Metcalf emails me 9/18: "Perhaps you should go back to cutting
and pasting updates about Holly Randall's puppies. At least the puppies
can't send in email rebuttals when the facts are mangled!"
AVN Senior Editor Mike Albo emails 9/19:
Wasn't it just a few short months ago that you were lecturing the AVN
staff about journalistic protocols and telling your readers how things
worked in the "real world" of journalism? Running a story without verifying
your one source and then not offering a retraction or even a mea culpa
when it becomes obvious that you were misinformed seems similarly weak.
Just because you're an attention-whoring retard is no excuse. Spare
us all your hectoring and hen-like clucking in the future.
I believe Fishbein has been looking to sell AVN for the past decade.
He'd like to do something else with his life, such as produce Hollywood
movies.
Back in 1998, AVN talked to LFP about buying them out. Larry Flynt declined.
Tod Hunter writes:
I was reading Chuck Jones' autobiography ("Chuck Amuck") and found
that Leon Schlesinger,
who owned the Warner Bros. cartoon studio, sold the whole operation
-- lock, stock, and Daffy Duck -- to Warner Bros. in 1944 and kept all
the money himself, without cutting in the directors and artists who
made the company worth selling in the first place.
(For their part, the animators didn't much like Schlesinger and modeled
Sylvester the cat's lisp and Daffy Duck's lisp and attitude on Schlesinger,
who never caught on, according to Jones, who would watch Leon sit in
his screening room and exclaim "I love that Daffy Duck voithe! How did
you guyth think of that?")
I told Gene about this selling-the-studio business, and he reflected
that if Paul ever sold the company -- we were on Valjean and the Hustler's-gonna-buy-us
rumors were flying -- he would probably do the same thing.
Just to crack Gene up, I went to the art department and asked them
to add the words "A Leon Schlesinger Production" at the end on the boilerplate
at the bottom of the Table of Contents on the issue we were working
on. I gave it to Gene for his approval and he OK'd it, and when I pointed
out the little note at the end of the boilerplate he cracked up.
This is not the first time this rumor has surfaced. More like the tenth.
Sexy
City writes on XPT:
So, what? Playboy is totally inept in running its flagship magazine
which showed another loss this year. Their internet program was constantly
in the red, except for one year where they made a small profit and then
outsourced the whole thing to Adult.com (which has seen the number of
pirated Playboy photos on the internet skyrocket; when the program was
run inhouse by Playboy, they were much more protective of their copyright
and brand).
Playboy is one of the most recognizable adult brands out there, yet
they are bleeding money. Why? Competition like Maxim and FHM, the staggering
amount of free porn on the internet, the failure to embrace the internet
as a way to expand the brand, and an overall lack of vision. What worked
in 1975 in business does not work today and no one wants to tell Hef
the news.
