Gary Kremen Gets A Retraction
In the July 1, 2005 publication of the Courthouse News Service Web
page, in an article titled "Dueling Pornographers Wage War Over $65
million Judgment", Courthouse News Service incorrectly asserted that
Gary Kremen is a "pornographer." While Mr. Kremen owns the domain name
"sex.com", the site is a search engine that links to pornographic sites
and Mr. Kremen does not maintain any of its own content. Mr. Kremen
has a final judgment against Stephen Cohen for $65 million (not an alleged
judgment as previously stated) and Cohen is a felon and is, currently,
a fugitive from the law.
JC's Girls
James DiGiorgio
writes (and he's serious, this is not satire):
Christianity has a new weapon in its anti-porn arsenal: JCs Girls.
Take the group's leader, Heather, for example. (Pictured above and
left and below... photography by your's truly, of course.) If you ask
me, Heather ain't gonna have any problem competing with most porn stars
in the eye candy department. In fact, Heather might just get enough
attention, if she were hawking Jesus at a porn convention (which she
plans to do), to cause a few porn stars to take notice. No telling what
pranks the porn stars might feel compelled to engage in to compete cuz,
IMHO, Heather could compete with any of porn's girls as eye candy--
and she'd probably be a front-runner for taking home the eye candy trophy
if such a thing were given. And if Heather suddenly got some sympathy
for the devil and decided to take the porn-plunge, you'd probably see
a clamoring of companies like DP, Vivid, and others all vying to sign
Heather to an exclusive contract.
Heather says she believes, since God gave her attractive looks, why
not use God's gift to spread his message?
Jack Pearl - The
Man The Business Passed By
He calls me back late Tuesday morning.
I first heard about him from Mika
Tan Sunday. She said he was her first porn shoot.
Jack: "I discovered her at an AM/PM station. I got her into this
business. The only reason she's mad at me is that I shot her [$75 for
a BJ]. At one time I asked her, 'Why don't you send me some girls?' She
looked at me as though I was crazy.
"I wish I would've known she was in it for the long run. We would've
made a great team. She was good at recruiting. She could've taken my stuff
to the next level.
"I've been around [since 1997]. I'm just not a big name unfortunately.
The only reason I'm not is that I didn't see the big picture. I never
promoted myself. I'm not a web guy."
JackPearl.com went up October 6, 1998.
"I went to take my stuff to the next level, but to do that takes
more money. I just don't have it. I stopped shooting a year ago.
"At the beginning, I was just shooting for fun. Then I thought of
[starting a website]. I didn't do TGP (Thumbnail Gallery Post) webpages.
I had some web people working for me but they didn't know anything. If
I would've had somebody who said I should've done mass emails and an affiliate
program... I never did anything like that. Just word of mouth.
"Ed Powers was my inspiration. When I got into the business in 1997,
people used to call me. Joey Silvera, Ed Powers, had heard of me and were
almost pleading with me for talent. Then a year or two later, it just
stopped."
Jack says he's shot scenes with about 200 girls though this hasn't been
his main way of earning a living. "I should be a millionaire."
Pearl's face doesn't show up on camera and he's unknown in San Diego
and elsewhere. Nobody has recognized him from his porn work.
"I'm different from any person you've met in this business. Most
guys are like -- Look at me. You know how many girls I've been with?
"I have no idea of how many girls I've been with in my life."
Jack says it is rare for him to date a porn girl. "If a girl is
halfway normal, she's going to say, this guy is doing this for a living.
I don't think there's much future with him."
He never tells civilian girls he dates about his porn work and none have
ever found out. "Only a few people in the world know about what I
do.
"I've had a couple of girls who had people find out about them and
asked me to take their picture down and I have. I don't want to ruin anyone's
life.
"I've had people on the outside world who've followed my stuff and
would find out about somebody and maliciously tell everyone. A couple
of times I've had girls call me: 'People are calling me a slut. Everybody's
talking about me.'"
About 90% of the girls who work with Jack do not become porn stars. "I
remember one Japanese girl who was totally into this. I sent her up to
LA. She did any thing any time. I asked her why. She said, 'In highschool,
I wasn't good looking. Now I'm modeling.'
"One day her family found out and she [quit porn]."
Crystal Waters Accident
Melissa Wolf writes:
Although I have never had the pleasure of meeting Chrystal Waters my
heart almost stopped when I got the call this morning from Jack Pepper.
Crystal was about to start a booking a decided to go for a boat ride,
unaware to her she dived into shallow waters of only three-feet head-first.
She snapped her neck crushing her 6th vertebra, she is only able to
move her baby pinky and she was only able to utter call my dad. She
is schedule for surgery some time today and is also schedule for another
to follow in the next couple of weeks, the prognosis doesn't look good
in fact they think she will never walk again and that her story will
be similar to Christopher Reeves.
Galardi South Enterprises will be holding a charity Fund raiser in
her honor, at the Pink Pony the week of July 25 to 30, and we girls
will be coming in from all over the country to donate a show or two.
The club will put the money in as a donation rather than pay us.
Thy
Neighbor's Wife - The Sequel
Author Gay Talese is writing a sequel to all his books including his
one about the sexual revolution.
Gay takes up a chapter in the book The
New New Journalism.
Author Robert S. Boynton: "You have a scene at a urologist convention
in Las Vegas in which a female urologist and John Bobbitt watch a porno
movie in your hotel room so she can test whether his penis works."
Talese: "Yes, it is a wonderful scene in which the urologist, Suzanne
Frye, one of the only female urologists in America, is holding John's
erect penis and talking about its "blood flow.""
What
Justice O'Connor's Retirement Could Mean to the Adult Business
Clyde DeWitt writes:
Washington, DC - We now could be one vote away from First-Amendment

of Justice Sandra Day O'Connor and the overwhelming control of the White
House and the Senate by the Religious Right is a recipe for disaster.

Jamie
Gardner interview with Eric Edwards (1999)
Eric Edwards acted in x-rated movies back in the 1970's and 1980's. Here
is the part of the Eric Edwards interview in which we talk about porn
actresses having been sexually abused. Eric Edwards Interview About Traci
Lords (July 22 and 23 of 1999)
JG: During the sex scenes, did she seem genuinely in to the sex?
EE: No, never. I mean, maybe it was just me (I have no idea) but I always
felt that she was just not there, at all.
JG: Yeah, others have said that.
EE: Well, this all comes, probably, from her daddy. I don't know if you
know the fact or not, a great, very high percentage of the girls in this
industry, in the x-rated industry, have been abused by their fathers or
step-fathers or uncles or what have you. So I think a lot of her turned
offishness probably came from that.
JG: Had you heard that she was sexually molested or are you just assuming
she probably was.
EE: I do not know that as a fact, except from what I have heard, so I
can't relate that as a fact. I have heard that she is another victim in
this industry. As I said, I would say almost 90 percent of the girls,
in the industry, have been sexually abused, in their lives. Plus, they
all live with musician boyfriends, now, if you can figure that out. I
don't know (laughter), unemployed musicians (laughter).
JG: So you think 90 percent were molested as children or raped, at some
point in their lives?
EE: I would say about 90 percent, yeah, just in my 30 year career, I
would say about 90 percent of the girls that I have met, come in contact
with, worked with, or what have you or even talked with, have related
stories to me about molestation in their family and that probably had
lead them into the x-rated industry. A lot of girls who came from, lets
say, Iowa or Kansas, some little town, and they move to L.A. or they moved
to New York on their own and they get in to this particular industry,
which is kind of a jump for anyone coming from a normal type of background,
would say wow, why did this particular girl find this industry. How in
the world could she have found this industry? Because it's not something
that she would say. For example, an 18 year-old graduate, from high school,
moves to California, gets job as secretary or McDonalds check out girl.
No, what happens is that sometimes, a girl will seek out this particular
industry or the streets, as a hooker, and you wonder why, how, what happened?
And 9 times out of 10, the reason that what happened, happened is because
of family molestation or abuse.
JG: Whether it's sexual or physical abuse.
EE: Sexual abuse is what I'm talking about. I sound like a psychiatrist,
don't I (laughter). This is all being recorded, right?
JG: Yeah.
EE: So you're going to take out the good stuff.
JG: I will.
EE: OK, good (laughter).
Jamie Gardner: I read that Traci Lords had a reputation of being sexually
promiscuous when the cameras weren't rolling. Did you see any evidence
of that, at all?
Eric Edwards: No, I didn't, never did.
JG: So there was nothing of her having sex with camera people or directors?
EE: Boy, I wish (laughter).
JG: (Laughter) - or other cast members when filming wasn't going on.
EE: No, I never heard about that. However, it wouldn't surprise me because
girls that are usually in (as I described before) an abusive situation,
usually try to go for attention with anybody who will give them that attention,
which means crew members, whatever, what have you. So it wouldn't surprise
me, however I never saw it. July 25 of 1999.
JG: That thing with Traci Lords, you were saying.
EE: Well, I was saying, when you think about it logically, what so-called
"normal" girl would, at an early age or even underage, get involved in
this industry, in a sex industry, even going to the extent of lying and
falsifying documents about her age. What normal girl would get involved
in this business if she had not had sexual experience, for possibly a
decade or so, before. It's just not something people do, so I guess what
I'm saying is that I'm verifying the fact that many, many, many girls,
in this industry, were victims of abuse in their family (sexual abuse,
possibly from a step-father or father or grandfather or what have you).
It seems like they come into this industry, almost like being graduates
from some sort of bizarre, strange sexual academy. They know all the right
words to say, they know what to do and yet they are only 18 years-old.
And I don't get it.
JG: I actually read an interview with Kimberly Carson. In this interview,
she said that she was sexually molested by her step-father and her theory
about her and others gravitating toward the adult industry was once you've
broken the taboo of having sex with a family member, then the other stuff
doesn't seem like that much of a taboo anymore.
EE: Yes, I can understand that, makes logical sense. It also makes logical
sense that the girls are trying to please men because they have been taught
to please men.
JG: This one book, I have, "The Alcahemy of Love and Lust," says that
there are 2 different types of women that are promiscuous. One type, the
author says, has a higher level of testosterone. They would have more
of a sexual drive more similar to men. Then the book says that the other
type of women were the ones who were doing it to please men. It was a
self esteem thing, they had low self esteem so they'd want to have sex
with different men to feel that approval.
EE: I think the women in this industry, probably, fit in to the second
category more.
JG: I have heard that Nina Hartley probably fits in to the first category
more.
EE: I think she fits in the first category (laughter). I say that with
a laugh and affection.
JG: I have also heard that people like Tiffany Mynx are more in to it
for the sex aspect. They tend to probably have very high sex drives.
EE: I agree with you there. I was probably looking at it one-sided.
Jamie
Gardner interview with Nina Hartley (1999)
I have been working on a book about Traci Lords since 1998. In Traci
Lords' Auto-Biography, she says that she raped when she was 10 years old.
When I interviewed Nina Hartley about Traci Lords, I asked about Traci
claiming that she was molested. Nina Hartley Interview About Traci Lords
(July 26 of 1999)
Jamie Gardner: Traci Lords has claimed that she was sexually molested,
how common do you think that is? There is a stereotype of women in the
business having been sexually abused.
Nina Hartley: The business is considered debased and why would a healthy
woman, with a good self esteem, go into this line of work. Most people,
in their heart of hearts, still don't believe that a woman can choose
to be a sex worker and be happy and healthy, as a choice, because people
assume that women don't have sexual drives like men do. People assume
that women who are promiscuous are cheap, easy or trampy or a floosy or
whatever, have low self esteem. They can't imagine anybody would want
to do this work, who did not feel bad about themselves, and one of the
reasons that you feel bad about your self and you think that you are good
for nothing else but being a slut is having been molested. There are certainly
some people who are sexual abuse survivors. Myself, I have not done a
formal poll. I wouldn't say it was a majority or anything like that, certainly
not.
Jamie Gardner: I've heard different views on this. When I was talking
to Raven Touchstone, she was saying that she believed it was not a majority,
just because she's talked with different women (and she hasn't polled
every one but she has talked to them about their lives and such). I heard
the opposite view when I was talking to Eric Edwards, he actually believed
it was 90%. And when I talked to Ron Sullivan, he believed it was 100%.
Nina Hartley: Ron Sullivan definately has a different view of women (laughter)
then Raven would. He's a bit jaded himself, bless his fuzzy little heart.
What is molestation? First, it depends on how broad the defination is.
Jamie Gardner: Do you mean that some people could consider that a teenage
girl, who's 16, having sex with another 16 year old is molestation? Is
that what you are getting at?
Nina Hartley: I'm thinking of, did you're uncle feel you up when you
were 12 or were you raped when you were 14, by your brother. What is being
molested? Did it happen one time with a stranger? Was it an ongoing thing?
Was it forced or was it something you liked but the person was older then
you, so other people thought it was molestation? It's much too broad a
category. Even if a hundred percent of us were molested, so what? That
doesn't make the business bad, it makes the business a perfect place to
deal with your issues about sexuality and the body and make a living,
at the same time. I've used the business for a lot of personal and emotional
growth, on my part (in dealing with body image issues and sexuality issues
and confidence issues and all kinds of stuff). The sex business, dancing
and movies and sex work and selling sex and peepshows and all the things
that you can do. It's a tremendous oportunity for a woman to gain control
of her sexuality, on her own terms. For that alone, it's valuable.
Jamie Gardner: One of the persons that brings up sexual abuse is Dr.
Drew, on "Loveline." Have you ever watched that show?
Nina Hartley: I was on it a couple of times, when it was on radio, but
I don't watch it on MTV. I don't care for it, I don't like their viewpoints.
He has more conservative views on behavior and he doesn't think "promiscuouty"
in women is a positive thing and I think it's not necessarily a negative
thing. It depends on the mind set of the person doing it. If the person
is engaging in a behavior that is self-destructive, taking on partners,
doing it when she is drunk or high on drugs, not using condoms, not owning
or taking responsibilty for her actions but continues to play the victim,
then yes, her promiscuouty is damaging, to her, and is an expression of
her self-loathing.
However, if you are a swinger and somebody who realises that you're a
freaky person, with bi-sexual or exhibitionistic tendencies or whatever
else, and you decide to go and satify those desires, with other consenting
adults, in a safe and sober environment, then your "promiscuity" is a
healthy expression of sexuality, so it depends a lot on the emotional
state of the person engaging in the behavior.
Me, getting up, dancing on stage, naked, is wonderful. If my sister was
to do it, it would be abusive to her. It would be completely inappropriate.
No one else in my family could do what I do and remain mentally healthy.
I'm the only one who has the capacity for it and so I wouldn't want them
to do it. Pat Califia, Carol Queen ("Real Live Nude Girl"), Jill Nagel
("Whores and Other Feminists") have talked about the double standard of
if a man's sex drive is high, he's normal and if a woman has a sex drive,
she's deviant. And the origins of this double standard go back 5 to 10
thousand years, so it has very deep cultural roots and very deep ramifications
for society.
Another good book, out on the market now (that I really can't recommend
highly enough) is called "Woman: An Intimate Geography" (by Natalie Angier),
absolutely an astoundingly good book. You'll like it very much and one's
of the chapters talks about women's sexuality from the biological point
of view.
Jamie Gardner: Actually, some people I've talked to have said that they
thought Traci seemed to be more in to for the money then for the sex,
that it didn't really come across like she was genuinely in to the sex
(it was more just an act).
Nina Hartley: That describes, at the time, easily, 50% of the actresses
in the business, so that's not unusual. Even today, it descibes a good
30% of the actresses.
Jamie Gardner: So how many did you think it was back then?
Nina Hartley: I would say close to 50%, during the '80's.
Jamie Gardner: I would have thought that it would be the opposite.
Nina Hartley: No, no, now adult material is more OK to get in to. It's
a line of work that we made more acceptable and more OK. Certainly, in
the mid-eighties, it took a really, really ballsy woman to get in to the
business and accept what she was doing and like it. It wasn't impossible,
it just wasn't really common and certainly she was no different then a
good number of women, at the time.
Jamie Gardner: I was reading this interview with you, in Playboy, and
you were saying that more married people are getting involved with acting
in x-rated movies. Do you think people, that are doing it, are more well
adjusted?
Nina Hartley: There is a greater percentage, then ever before, of people
entering the business who are already mentally and maratility happy and
healthy. When I first got in the business, it wasn't a place where, for
the most part, people with good self esteem ended up. I was extremely
rare that way. It was a stigmatized business and it tended to pull people
in to it who have odd issues to deal with and now, 16 years later, after
relentless discussion of sex positivism and sex as a legitimate line of
work, more people are coming in to it who are already in good, healthy
relationships, already sexually open and already having dealt with issues
like jealousy and possessiveness.
Everyone makes the business work for them in a way that wasn't possible
15 years ago. I think were coming to a very healthy fork in the road.
I have been trying to promote sex positivism, which gives respect for
everybody's sexual choices, including ones that don't agree with you.
I've actually been getting more respect from people who choose celebacy
or choose monogamy, if they are not judgemental about my choosing non-monogamy.
It's very important that we have tolerance for other people's points of
view, I'm more tolerant that way. The gay right's movement, the civil
right's movement, the one world movement and the tribal movement have
all grown up together and now there's people your age who don't remember
the way it was before this level of openess. I think because of HIV, the
fact we have to talk about sex, we must speak of it. It has to be talked
about, kids today are more willing to be open about discussing it. I see
that a lot, the college kids are changing.
When I was talking to them 13 or 14 years ago, their questions were different
then the ones they ask now. Men and women take for granted that it's OK
for them to seek a sexually satisfying happy life and they don't have
to be traditional. A lot of the negativity that ended up coming out of
the seventies happened because people leapt in to behavior without thinking
of the consequences and a lot of consequences are bad. So if HIV makes
people makes people slow down and be a little more deliberate and conscious
and aware before they enter sexual activity, it's a good thing. People
don't like that because they think sex mostly just happens or they don't
want to think about it, "it takes all the mystery, it takes all the fun
out of it" but I think that bringing conscous awareness to something as
emotionally-charged as sexually is critically important and it's a good
thing. HIV is happening but, man, there's pagan sex parties, there's group
sex parties that you can go to and there's jack 'n off jill parties that
you can organize.
All kinds of fun stuff that you can do that's nasty and freaky, you just
have to have a little imagination. You have to be careful, you wouldn't
sky without a helmet and you don't drive without a seatbelt and you don't
do unsafe sex but you get to do fun things. There's a lot of fun things
to do that don't involve drugs, alcohol or mindless stupidity. And if
you are smart, it can also include naked people. At the time of the seventies,
a lot of people were actively trying to expand their minds and to give
up negative prejudices and give up old-fashioned and wrong-headed views
about sexuality and it's place. We were trying to shed off old baggage
and to take on a new consciousness about sexually. Condoms were for birth
control, everything else could be cured by penicillin, that's just the
way that it was.
Sordid Stories
Jay Allen writes:
When I was on the set of Sordid
Stories, Annabel Chong's ass was squirting blood like a volcano,
over and over. They kept having to stop, clean everything and everybody
up, start again, and after a few minutes everything shut down again. This
was the DP scene in the President's office. She wouldn't stop bleeding
so they eventually stopped altogether, filmed three-plus hours of non-sex
scenes while she squirted liquid bandage up her butt and relaxed, and
then they restarted the same scene again. She didn't bleed much that
time. Of course that's not what makes the final edit.
Jay Allen Sanford, Carnal Comics publisher, writes: Since Annabel Chong's
name came up (RE her claims that John Bowen, aka John T. Bone, owed her
money for the World's Biggest Gangbang), here's an excerpt from the "Carnal
Comics: The Inside Story" book, mainly concerning Sordid Stories (a combination
film and Carnal Comic issue) but also quoting Annabel about her Gangbang
experience:
There was even an autograph signing in LA at the Golden Apple comic
store, with Annabel in her Pink Stiletto costume. This was Annabel's
first-ever public appearance, her films hadn't even hit the market yet.
She was just there to promote the upcoming release of Sordid Stories
and nobody knew what to make of her, remembers Carnal publisher Jay
Allen Sanford. And nobody could understand a word she was saying with
that freaky accent of hers, part British, part Asian, part Valley Girl!
We have lots of pics from that night, her with Bonnie, Becky Sunshine,
Sarah-Jane Hamilton and a buncha others, but poor Annabel was in a corner
all by herself being ignored most of the night. This changed after the
Sordid Stories movie and comic became underground cult hits, even earning
a cover feature in Cult Movies Magazine.
Annabel's star reached new heights after the infamous "250 man gangbang"
(read "75 guys who got in line a few times") - huge crowds turned out
to meet her at appearances. Annabel never got her own bio issue of Carnal
Comics, but Jay Allen Sanford interviewed her for one that never got
off the ground.
About having sex with over 250 men, Annabel said: 'It was really quite
fun, no problems. Security guards made sure nobody penetrated me without
condoms, and I say a grand time was had by one and all!'
She does admit that she was sore early on, from men using their fingers
inside of her, but once director Bone decreed that no fingers be used
(Men have sharp nails! Ouch!), everything ran like a well oiled machine.
Or a well oiled porn star anyway. Some guys got into it and came back
for seconds and thirds, Annabel says proudly, obviously enchanted at
having nursed so many erections and ejaculations. A few guys had so
much fun, they actually came onto the Jerry Springer Show with me, and
their girlfriends even!
The girlfriends treated Annabel none to kindly onstage, but Annabel
claims they sang a different tune when the cameras were off camera.
They were all over Ron Jeremy, asking for autographs. Talk shows are
like wrestling, I'm afraid. People say and do things totally different
from what theyd normally do and say.
Annabel claims that her personal sex life is very routine compared
to the circus acts shes willing to do, without a net, on film. My friends
and I still watch Sordid Stories all the time, she says. Its definitely
in high rotation, especially the orgy scene and the bit in the dungeon.
Nobody's ever seen stuff like that, and the fetish freaks absolutely
love the costumes!
Sanford's most vivid recollection of Annabel isnt from Sordid Stories,
but from a time he gave her a ride home after a particularly frenetic
film shoot. She had just done one of those all-anal gangbangs and there
was still Astroglide lube leaking out from the back of her hot pants.
I didnt realize this until I was driving and looked in my rear view
and saw Annabel in the back seat every time I took a sharp turn, I saw
her gliding across the vinyl backseat, leaving this snail-trail of lube
in her wake, back and forth like she was riding a Slip-N-Slide back
there. I told friends later I was lucky her swollen butthole didnt stick
to my back seat like a suction cup.
Sanford says he declined to give Annabel any more rides after that
messy incident and in fact cancelled plans for an Annabel Chong comic
book around the same time, for whatever that may be worth in the way
of observation.

Rodger Jacobs writes:
At one point Karch essayed the contents of a conversation he had with
adult film screenwriter Raven Touchstone who allegedly said, "Does this
guy know anything about you? Does he know you play blues harmonica?
Does he know you paint? Has he been to your apartment and seen your
paintings on the wall?"
I had no idea I was dealing with such a renaissance man. In the long
run, however, I had wasted hour upon hour of my time and my tape on
a man who presented himself to me as someone with virtually no compelling
story to tell. And Karch was making it increasingly clear through telephone
conversations that he was disgruntled with my services and it was all
going nowhere.

Nina Hartley
writes:
I don't much care for Max's work and vision. I'm not into very young-looking
women, nor am I into very petite, skinny women. And I most certainly
am not into his brand of sexual hostility. So, I never much cared for
it.
He was always nice to me when we met at the conventions, etc., but
he never asked me to work for him, and I was fine with that. It helps,
sometimes, to not be someone's type!
For some women, working for Max was the most horrible thing ever. For
more than one woman, he was their first, and last, attempt at a career
in porn, the experience being so bad for them. On the other hand, there
was more than one woman who made more than one movie with him, showing
that it takes all types, and that there are all types out there.
In my private life, I do a lot of things that, taken out of context,
could be viewed as "mean," "violent," or "harsh." However strange the
behavior may be, though, the feelings behind it are of affection, attraction
and even love.
With Max's movies, one rarely has the sense that the women really knew
what they were signing off on. He's not the only one who likes the woman's
actual distress to be apparent on camera. There are lots more directors
of "hostile" porn than there used to be, but Max was the first to really
make it pay.
I don't have an age fetish, and he does. I don't have hostile fantasies,
and he does. So, we're really far apart on what gets us off and that's
a fact.
Ernest Greene writes:
...[Y]oung people tend to be both competitive and conformist. They
want to do whatever is considered hip and cool at the moment, and outdo
all their peers at it.
On the gonzo end of the porn spectrum, this has led to a competition
not just among directors and producers but also among performers to
see who can do the most extreme stunt-sex - the biggest bat up the ass,
the largest gang-bang, the widest gape, the roughest BJ, the most extreme
double-anal etc. Since not all performers can hope to become names by
being feature contract girls, for some the next best thing is clearly
to achieve notoriety for being the wildest, nastiest, dirtiest, etc.
This trend has been going on since the Jasmine St. Claire - Houston
title bouts in the GB category.
Of course, this kind of atmosphere is hog heaven for a certain kind
of director, who can exploit a performer's need for recognition (as
well as money, of course) by offering her the chance to get out in front
of the pack through some kind of over-the-top action that stirs up a
lot of attention, for about ten minutes until somebody else one-ups
it. I'm not one to judge when it comes to sexual behavior, on or off
camera, but I fail to see how this kind of race to the bottom really
benefits anybody but the the guy selling the video.
I do think it will be a good thing when this particular trend runs
its course and we get back to showing people having mutually enjoyable
sex. I regard that as a much more sustainable marketing approach than
the sensationalism of which we're seeing so much these days. The good
news is that this may already be happening. I've noticed (as has AVN)
that those companies with the resources are going back to making bigger
shows with higher production value and less emphasis on harsh, relentless
action. This could be the beginning of a market correction that is,
in my view, long overdue.
48yo Woman Wants To Enter Porn
Sue writes: "I am 48 years old, still pretty hot for my age. Anyway....I
have been giving alot of serious thought into the adult industry. I know
that there is a demand for the "mature" woman, but I am not sure how to
go about making contacts."
Nina
Hartley responds:
I'm sad to say that I can offer no good news for you. I don't doubt
that you're a very hot, fit, passionate 48-year old woman. However,
the business is brutal on women who come into it past the age of 30,
and that's a fact. You'd be asked to do things you might find very objectionable,
or end up in movies like "Horny Grannys Suck Cock, #22" and the like.
The men who make the movies have no idea what a healthy, older sexuality
looks like, and few of them have a happy sex life at home, and they
like to f--- with model's heads. You may have your head on right about
sex, and your body, and aging, etc., but this business doesn't. I'd
hate to see you subjected to the mental and emotional stresses of trying
to make it in a business where you're considered easily twice as old
as you "should" be.
However, if you do want to do this, go to the store and rent as many
movies with older women in them as you can find. The code words on the
titles are "mature," "MILF," "Granny," "Aged to Perfection," etc. Some
will be more unpleasant or disrespectful than others. Of the ones that
you can stand to watch, and can deal with the portrayals, find out who
the company and/or director is and take it from there.
Of course, if you do get to LA to make a video, remember you can always
say "no" to any thing or person you don't want.

I also noticed that their telephone number didn't work to order from."

Mika
Tan (May 24, 2005 at Sardos)
From Mike Tan's
online autobiography:
Born in Honolulu, as a military brat, I was raised across the Pacific.
My Dad was stationed in Oahu, Guam, and San Diego.
I was homeschooled for a brief period and traveled to across the US,
parts of Europe, SE Asia, Middle East, and North Africa on a religious
[Buddhist?] mission before I hit high school.
With a majority of my dad's family in the armed forces or dependents
thereof, it was no surprise I married a military man. We decided to
work in porn as a couple, but then began getting offers to work with
other talent...
I call Mika Sunday morning, July 3, 2005.
Duke: "When you were a little girl, what did you want to be when
you grew up?"
Mika: "There's a recording of me at five. I said I wanted to be
a professor by day and a stripper at night."
Duke: "How did you ever get the idea of becoming a stripper?"
Mika: "Maybe I thought they made a lot of money."
Duke: "What were you expected to become (by your family)?"
Mika: "I grew up in a zero-expectation household. If I didn't want
to go to school, they would write me a note saying I was sick. I didn't
get pushed hard.
"My dad wanted me to go to college but he didn't push me. I got
$20 for every A I got. That was my motivation to do well in school.
"It's an Asian household where they didn't expect the women to do
much. 'You're going to get married and you're going to have kids and you're
going to be very happy.'"
Mika was a good student in highschool and college. She graduated with
a degree in Bio-Chemistry from San Diego State. "It took me five
years but I did it. I loved school. I liked science. I wanted to be a
teacher."
Duke: "What kind of crowd did you hang out with in highschool?"
Mika: "I was with the nerd crowd. I was in student council and the
national Honors society.
"In my last year in college, I was trying to make some money. I
did figure modeling. Nude modeling. Have you heard of Glamor Photography
International? This small association of amateur photographers. They rent
out a small park. For $75, photographers can come in and take pictures
of all these models (who get paid between $150-$200 a day. You did just
pretty Playboy-style modeling."
I hear tap going on in the background and the flow of water. I think
she's washing her hands. Then it sounds like she's drying them as she
says, "I didn't have a problem with nudity."
So what was she doing two minutes before washing her hands while talking
to me?
Mika: "My grandmother owned massage parlors in Guam and Hawaii.
I grew up [in Guam]. I know that sounds really bad. I don't know if you
want to print that."
Duke: "Oh no. That's fascinating."
Mika: "I don't have any issues or hangups when it comes to sex or
nudity. I did some house-dancing at a couple of strip clubs in San Diego."
Duke: "You went to UCSD?"
Mika: "No. It's so hard for an Asian to get into a UC school. They
tend to hit their Asian quotas. Affirmative action crap.
"It's depressing when you get your degree from a place that's known
for its football team.
"I did my first porn movie in 1997. Who was that for? He got in
trouble recently for getting a minor pregnant. He was a little guy. [Jack
Pearl]. Out of San Diego.
"Ed Powers was my first anal scene.
"My ex didn't want me to do any boy-girl scenes, so I scaled back.
I just did girl-girl and fetish. Then I came across an internet company
(JET, who ran Hollywoodasians.com) that was looking for a model. I applied.
They didn't have an admin assistant, so I started working in the office
and doing cam on the side. Cam girls are flakey.
"I opened up Geishahouse.com in 1999. It was an all-Asian voyeur
house. I did solo work and with my ex-husband [Ray Shannon]. He was so
jealous. It was so weird."
Duke: "You're on your second husband now?"
Mika: "Yes. And he's [Alec Knight] a lot nicer.
"Then my ex-husband decided he wanted to be a porn star. We started
doing boy-girl scenes."
Both of Mika's husbands have been white while her boyfriends were Asian.
"Both marriages were after I was already doing porn. Asian men I
dated while in the business would not let me meet their parents, some
of their friends, and no self-respecting Asian man certainly would not
marry a woman in the business. The Asian boys interested in dating a porn
chick have something to prove to their guy friends, but seemed ashamed
to introduce me to their sisters or parents...I don't need that s---.
The guys that last long enough for marriage are ones that can deal with
what I do. I have made compromises in the past, but my new guy understands
this is what I was when he met me."
Mika (who's Chinese, Okinawan and Samoan) says she's done 631 scenes
(many of them just for the internet).
Duke: "What do you love and hate about working in porn?"
Mika: "I love sex. I love the freedom it gives me to spend time
with my family. The pay days are not bad. I like building my own schedule.
I could never do 9-5 again. It's nice to be able to say, 'I'm tired. I
won't book anything for a couple of days.' The freedom is paramount to
everything else I like.
"The things I don't like about the industry are scandalous people.
Not everybody is in the business because they enjoy sex and like making
money doing it. Some people have weird fetishes and strange egos or drug
problems."
Duke: "Have you gotten taken advantage of?"
Mika: "Oh yeah. I got screwed over because I didn't have an agent.
I'm getting to the point where I'm shot out. I'm using the agent to fill
in my holes.
"I'm getting behind the camera. I shot my first production in the
beginning of June, before I left. My church group went to Phuket, Thailand
to help rebuild houses. I came back in bad shape (mosquitoes, really bad
sun burn).
"I don't have a distributor yet. I'm going to try to pimp it out.
It's the first Asian
movie featuring all Asian men."
Duke: "There aren't any Asian men in the business."
Mika: "There aren't. I had such a hard time. It was such a challenge
I almost wanted to cry sometimes.
"The genesis of the project is that I started getting hate mail
from my fans. 'How come you hate Asian men? You never f--- Asian men.
What's your problem? Asian men aren't good enough for you?'
"I said, 'Why don't you step up? There ain't no Asians to f---.'
"I started doing these casting calls. I had 147 emails applying
to my website.
There was this website Asianman.com that was bashing me. 'Mika Tan is
trying to exploit Asians.'
"They want to be porn stars. They want to be respected sexually.
But they don't want to be exploited? The whole biz is exploitation, for
men and women."
She sounds like she's taking a sip of a drink. "Exploitation is
how we make our money.
"I got the Asian community's panties in a bunch. Some really liked
the idea. Some really hated the idea."
Duke: "Why do you think there are so few Asian men as talent in
porn?"
Mika: "Asian families have pressure on their boys to do well and
to not shame the family. There's so much stigma to shaming your family.
Japanese people jump off buildings because they're failing in school."
Duke: "What about Asian men are not hung?"
Mika: "Asian men got a bad rap for being tiny. The only exposure
people have to Asian men are those Japanese ones [where the genitals]
are digitized. They're embarrassingly tiny. The women do scenes like they're
constipated.
"I wanted to show people that there are not a billian Asian people
in the world for nothing. Not because they don't know how to f---.
"We did it. All my men are over six inches long.
"There were men who were big and good looking but they refused to
show their face. They wanted to wear a mask.
"I went down from 147 people who were interested to seven guys.
I didn't want to have any half-Asians. Guys were showing up saying, 'I'm
Jamaican-Chinese.' I said, 'Dude, you look black. Go away.'
"I got Katie Morgan and all the biggest names in the business. I
had [the fans] write down their fantasy list of who they wanted to see.
Most of them wanted white girls.
"I bash the mainstream
on my website. They treated me bad because of porn. So many people
have so many misconceptions about what people in porn do. I get invited
to Hollywood mainstream parties but they want me to service directors.
For some reason, they don't understand why I get offended.
"I'm a performer
just like you, only that I go all the way. I show that extra two percent
of skin. I don't see any difference between what we do and what somebody
on Playboy TV does. It looks the same. It's still adult content.
"I know there are a lot of crack whores in the business. I just
don't want people to believe that we're all cracked out nymphomaniacs.
We are intelligent and this is an intelligent decision that we're making.
I did mainstream modeling starting at 12. (Resume).
I had the most problems with casting directors and writers hoping for
tail even before I did porn. Even more so have come out of the woodwork
after I started doing porn. I get e-mailed offers all the time over the
last couple years to meet for coffee so that I can "read" for parts. Slimiest
pervs I have met in my life, including my porn contacts, are at NBC, MTV,
FOX, Paramount Pictures, and Touchstone Films.
"I see nothing wrong with sex. That's how we all got here."
Duke: "How did your family react to your getting into porn?"
Mika: "My dad didn't handle it well. My mom was pretty cool about
it. My grandma owned massage parlors, so she grew up around that stuff.
'Oh, I half-expected it.'
"They couldn't complain too much about it because I helped out a
lot with the mortgage. I helped pay off my grandma's house. They probably
would've had a problem if I had kept it all to myself and did drugs.
"My dad didn't talk to me for a couple of years. My mom knew years
before my dad did. She said, 'Don't tell your dad. He might have a problem
with that.'
"I didn't tell my dad until I did a Hustler thing and he has a subscription
to Hustler.
"After I told him, he banged the phone on the table for a while
and then said, 'I need some time to register this. Don't call back.'
"My grandma was kinda happy. My grandma's philosophy on her massage
parlors is that massage parlors take away rapes. They fulfill fantasies.
"I used to get a lot of flak from school. People would say, 'Your
grandma is a whore.' Everybody knew my grandma. They had a big thing in
the paper. She was talking about massage parlors. They were shutting down
massage parlors in Guam. My dad was stationed there so I caught a lot
of crap.
"My grandmother said, 'Everybody needs sex. Not everybody gets it
the way they want it or as often as they want it, and that's where massage
parlors come in. Guys who like little girls can come in and choose one
of our ladies who dresses up like a little girl. It helps to stop rapes.'
"She felt like she was doing a public service.
"She said to me: 'That's good. At least it's not illegal yet. Just
keep on going until they ban it. Americans are going to ban it.'
"I don't know when [sex work] became something you needed to be
ashamed of. It's weird. A country based on freedoms and you're not allowed
to exercise them.
"I think of internet porn the same way [as a public service]. I
do a lot of fetish work. Because some of the fetishes I do are really
taboo, some guys can't ask their wife to dress up like a little girl and
talk to me like that... I don't believe porn creates fetishes. I think
it caters to them. People who have these fetishes need an outlet. If they
didn't have an outlet, they might run around and hang out at school yards.
"I was in Germany. I saw a German Shepherd with a woman. It doesn't
make me look at dogs in a new way. I can't see how watching a porn video
can spark your interest in something you have no interest in.
"In Thailand, they have little girls they pimp out. That doesn't
excite me. It makes a little bit sick. I have no problem dressing up as
a little girl and have them talk to me that way. I can call them daddy
if they want me to. I'd rather it be me than somebody else."
Duke: "Your church group went to Thailand to build houses."
Mika: "I do a lot of work for [a non-profit home-building organization
for the disadvantaged]. We built 15 houses in ten days. If anybody needs
drywalling, I'm pretty decent. I can do it topless. They'll have to pay
me a premium though. I'm not licensed and bonded."
Duke: "Does your church group know about your modeling work?"
Mika: "Yeah."
Duke: "They don't give you a hard time?"
Mika: "No. It's not like it's a Christian church. It's a Buddhist
church. They're more relaxed about it."
Duke: "What are your life ambitions?"
Mika: "I want to make porn that is fun to watch. I don't want any
of that spit-in-her-face, punching her and weird stuff like that. We've
come to the point where directors are competing with themselves and not
catering to what customers want to see. Who can think of the most disgusting
thing to do.
"People come up to me and say, 'Would you be willing to do that?'
Three cocks in my ass? No.
"It's come to the point where I don't even like to rent porn anymore
and I like it."
Mika calls her sister a "breeder" because she has three kids.
Mika has a phone number on her website where she'll talk to people for
$5 a minute. "I haven't checked my messages in a long time. I used
to get these weird calls: 'I want to f--- you till you bleed.' Eww. It
must be all the bondage and S-M shoots I do. Because I have a high tolerance
for pain, I do a lot of them. I do extreme fetish shoots."
Duke: "Isn't that freaky when you meet people who are into the extreme
fetishes you do?"
Mika: "It is. It scared me. Just because I do the fetish and understand
it doesn't mean it turns me on. I don't really like to beat people until
they bleed, even though I've done it."
Duke: "What did you learn from the tough stuff [miscarriage, divorce
etc] you went through?"
Mika: "It made me paranoid. I went through four webmasters who screwed
me over. I had to sue the last one to get my name back. I need to not
trust so easy, which is sad, because I'm normally an open love everybody
person. But people have to earn my trust now.
"My husband and I want to go into partnership with people on our
productions but it makes me scared to tell anyone my ideas. I'm so afraid
that someone is going to take it, like the Geishahouse.com. I created
it. I built it. I drove traffic to it. And my partner sold it and I got
nothing. Not even my cut.
"It's one thing to have no morals, but to have no ethics, that's
something different. Yeah, I'm the first one to tell people that I have
no morals but I'm ethical. I would like to see that more in the business.
I like working with people with ethics. I wish there were more people
like that in the business but that's the cross we have to bear.
"I used to think my grandma was a crackpot when I was growing up.
Everyone in my family said she was weird. But I guess I've grown up to
be just like her. The more I do the business and meet fans, the more understand
that it is important to a lot of people. We need to cater to people who
don't have sex as often."
From Mika Tan's FAQ:
WHERE DID YOU GO? DID YOU RETIRE?
I got really burned out and had to get away. I went through some tough
personal stuff (miscarriage, divorce) and trusted people who didn't
care about me.
DOES YOUR FAMILY KNOW?
Yes. My parents think it is a waste of a perfectly good brain, but
the truth is that all the money I make in this business is spent on
necessities for the whole family and my various organizations. I share
whatever I have and they know that I only have a short amount of time
to captialize of my youth. My dad's opinion is: "Porn is good for anyone
else's daughter, but your own."
CAN YOU AND YOUR SISTER DO A GIRL-GIRL SHOOT?
That is just plain disgusting. This is not her industry. She is a mom,
for crying out loud! Even if we weren't related, she is your average
heterosexual and does not deviate in any way. Man, if you knew her,
she would bite your head off just for asking. She is quite humorless.
Sunday afternoon I got a mass email from Mika:

The Ups And Downs Of Working With Porn Stars
Jim Goad (jg@jimgoad.net) is working on a story about working with porn
stars and he would like to hear from those people who have.
Aspen
Brock On A Current Affair
From A
Current Affair's website:
During most of her hard-core adult movie shoots, Cleo Cameron (a.k.a.
"Aspen Brock") was strung out on heroin to cope with the shame she felt.
"I tried to stay as high as I could," Cleo remembers. "I was so disgusted
with myself. The fact that I had this director saying, 'I'm gonna make
you a star,' it didn't matter. I knew how degrading what I was doing
was." Today, Cleo is clean, sober and the mother of two children.
"I really felt that this story had to come out," says Anne
Bissell, author of the book, Memoirs of a Sex Industry Survivor.
She's eager to tell "the true story.not the glamorized 'Pretty Woman,'
Heidi Fleiss, Jenna Jameson b.s. that's out there, but the real story,
the real truth." Bissell and Cameron have joined forces to start "Sex
Industry Survivors Anonymous."
Jay Allen writes:
It's always good when both sides of a national debate speak their minds
so clearly and with such force of conviction. I hope this report sparks
dialogue that makes people aware of the other side of Jenna Jameson's
"autobiography."
RE the below, this is one of truest things I've ever seen on this yahoogroup:
"Sexual dysfunction is a very common trait in sex industry survivors.
We call it "The Split." This is a complete sexual shut down or disassociation
between the body and the mind during sex. Others also describe this
as turning a trick without getting paid."
I may someday write a lengthy book chapter about my own experiences
with women of erotica who ended up with exactly the same problem(s).....the
way I've put it is "when sex has become the same thing as a handshake,"
there's a great sense of loss there, and the women who experience it
are much the worse for this. As are their lovers.
RE "Aspen Brock," I'm actually familiar with her, we spoke once and
I've seen two of her films she sent me, "White Trash Whore" and some
other gangbang film, while she campaigned to be in Carnal Comics. In
White Trash Whore, they put a toilet seat over her head and rape her
mouth, and I think they DP her on the toilet. Now I would normally have
long since forgotten her and these horror-show movies were it not for
the fact that I was 99% positive she was on heroin at the time. I could
tell from her demeanor, body language, vacant eyes and voice slurs in
the films, and I could tell from talking to her - at the time, I was
dating and managing the career of a well known heroin-addict porn star
and spending time with her on the road, so I knew all-too-well the manifestations.
At the time, when Aspen was talking about doing a comic, I gravitated
toward the notion even tho I was already wrapping up my involvement
with Carnal. I had this urge to, I dunno, throw her a rope. I sensed
she was in deep trouble - the other film of hers she sent me, she starts
crying when they start the anal sex. There's tears running down her
face, she's sniffling and wiping them off with her makeup smearing,
while some guy pounds her ass and a black guy stands behind them yelling
"I'm next! I'm next!" There's very little contemporary porn that sticks
in my mind, but I recall poor Aspen Brock in those two movies, and how
sad it made/makes me.
Who knows if her heroin addiction predated her porn "career" - I doubt
it matters. Both things, heroin and porn, she had to "survive" them.
I'm glad she's telling her story.
Jamie Ralph Gardner writes:
The second video that you had of Aspen Brock was Gangbang Auditions 3.
You had a dub of it on one of your 6 hour speed video tapes. She does
cry during the scene but the Director does show compassion toward her.
Several times, he asks her if she is OK. He keeps telling Aspen that it's
up to her what she wants to do. There is no black man saying "I'm next!
I'm next!" It was a black guy that caused her pain when he was having
anal intercourse with her. He was going slow with her. He didn't deliberately
cause her pain.
Trancript of Aspen Brock sex scene from Gang Bang Auditions 3.
Aspen Brock: f---, OK, hold on.
Aspen Brock: Hold on
Gregg Allen: Slow
Gregg Allen: Go nice and slow guys. Are you OK?
Aspen Brock: Yeah.
Gregg Allen (inaudible)
Aspen Brock: No, I'm OK.
Gregg Allen: Are you sure?
Gregg Allen: You can back it up.
Aspen Brock No, it's OK, don't pull it out. Once you're in, don't pull
it out. OK, alright.
Gregg Allen: Just relax, are you OK?
Gregg Allen: You talk to him. He's not going to move, you move. As much
or as little as you like.
Aspen Brock: Oh God. No, no, don't pull out. Just keep going. Do you have
a tissue where I can wipe this away?
Gregg Allen: Don't come out.
A guy uses a kleenex to wipe away her tears.
Mark Davis: Mine is small, it's not going to hurt.
Aspen Brock: Yeah, right
Mark (laughter).
Gregg Allen: He's a more sensitive lover then this lucky guy.
Aspen: Oh God.
Gregg Allen: Are you OK?
Gregg Allen: You can talk to him. You can let him know to slow down or
go faster. Do what feels good for you.
THE GUY PULLS OUT HIS PENIS SLOWLY AND ANOTHER GUY TAKES HIS PLACE.
Aspen Brock (laughter)
Gregg Allen: A 3 second grace period
Aspen Brock is no longer crying and she is calm.
Gregg Allen: There you go.
Gregg Allen: Let me see that pretty face.
Aspen Brock: I'm afraid I look like I'm crying though.
Gregg Allen: No, you look like your having fun?
Aspen Brock: OK.
Gregg Allen: Are those tears of pleasure?
Aspen Brock: Yes (laughter)
A GUY PULLS OUT AND ANOTHER ONE TAKES HIS PLACE.
Gregg Allen: You like the asshole?
Aspen Brock: OH yeah.
Aspen Brock (smiling): I like it yeah.
Gregg Allen: Do you love it?
Aspen Brock: I like it yeah.
Gregg Allen: Yes, you have 3 cocks down you.
ASPEN BROCK IS BEING DOUBLE PENETRATED AND A GUY'S PENIS ACCIDENTLY FALLS
OUT OF HER.
Gregg Allen: Oh, thank you very much.
Aspen Brock: Oh, damn it! (she sounds irritated)
ASPEN GETS DOUBLE PENETRATED AGAIN.
Gregg Allen: Open up your mouth really wide. There you go.
Aspen Brock: Oh yeah. Oh yeah, f---! (she looks like she is in pain)
THE VIDEO SWITCHES TO THE GUYS CUMMING ON HER FACE.
Aspen Brock: I'm a cum dumpster, fill me up.
Aspen Brock: I like it yeah.
Gregg Allen: That's a girl.
Jay Allen writes:
Your surreal transcript below backs up what a sad debacle took place
that day. My pity for her is only increased by looking over the text
- now I'm even more of a mind to contact her and offer to help her efforts
to be heard.
Your definition of "compassion" seems akin to the Marqui De Sade's
- compassion would have been giving that poor girl her clothes, a check
and sending her home. What you describe as "compassion," I see only
as "We need this footage to cash OUR checks so don't break her, and
then who gives a f--- about her."
"Aspen Brock (laughter)" - some "laughter," that was a woman's last
mental defenses crumbling before your eyes, like the rape victim who
tries to "befriend" their attacker somewhat, just in order to psychologically
survive the horrible ordeal - - - - that kinda crap is about as sexy
as a snuff film.
A Jew At Bob Jones University
I heard a hilarious story about a Jewish woman who was the sole Jewish
student (there were few if any Blacks, Latinos or Asians) at a conservative
Christian college (and rural town) similar to Bob Jones U.
She had a foul mouth and would tell people, "You better not f---
with me, I'm Jewish." While all other students were required to attend
chapel daily, she was exempt. She also took Jewish holidays off school.
Not because she observed them as her religion prescribed. On the contrary,
she held Yom Kippur kegger parties and charged her fellow students entrance
fees to get drunk on Jewish holy days. She also introduced cocaine to
the campus and made a bundle from her sales. Judaism
must be so proud.
Judith
Regan Tired Of Cultural Misogyny
A few years ago, rabbi
Shmuley Boteach said that Michael Jackson taught him to be a better father.
Now rabbi Boteach writes in the Acknowledgments of his new book Hating
Women: America's Hostile Campaign Against the Fairer Sex:
For almost five years, I have wanted to write a book about the shockingly
negative portrayal of women in Western culture... But this project was
given greater impetus through my conversations with my friend and publisher,
Judith Regan, who has passionately shared my viewpoint of widespread
cultural misogyny and the negative portrayal of women as sleazy, slutty,
and stupid everywhere we look. This book is meant to combat that deplorable
state of affairs, and I want to thank Judith for her constant encouragement
throughout its development. Judith is a strong woman, and many argue
that it is her toughness that has propelled her to the top of American
publishing. I disagree. I know that underneath that formidable exterior,
which many successful women develop as a means of competing in a man's
world, is an unbelievably warm feminine softness that has so endeared
her to authors like me, who look to her as a warm and caring friend.
The
Devil and Miss Regan By Judith Newman for Vanity Fair.
For moments of my career as a writer, I gloried in the opportunity to
label people good and bad. As a young journalist working for other people,
I chafed at my inability to put my opinions in my stories.
Now at middle-age and with my own website and the ability to publish
whatever I want, I'm (usually) relieved to keep my opinions to myself
and to generally avoid taking the stands on people that rabbi Boteach
does.
For many years, I wanted to be a moral leader like Dennis
Prager. As I've aged, I've realized I am not cut out for that and
that I am much better at other things than being a pundit, such as interviewing
people. Usually, to get a good interview, you need to empathize as much
as possible with your subject. This is usually amoral. To get good interviews,
I keep to myself most of my moral judgments about my subject and his work
and try to honestly get their point of view.
Once I articulate a position, I feel a strong internal compulsion to
defend it. By not staking out my views, I find it easier to listen to
others and to change my mind. I find it difficult to defend my views and
to listen to others simultaneously. My mind works on only one track at
a time.
I'm usually a horrible person in an argument. My pulse races, my skin
flushes, my voice rises and cracks, and my approach becomes nasty. I fight
to keep myself out of arguments and feel joy when many people say they
view me as serene.
Nikki Benz Leaves JKP
Nikki
writes on her blog:
I have been receiving a lot of mail from people asking me what's going
on with Jill Kelly Productions. More importantly if I'm still with them.
Due to certain reasons that I won't talk about I couldn't say what was
going on before, but now things are different. I can finally say it:
"As of today I am no longer with Jill Kelly Productions!". I respect
and admire Jill. She's one of the nicest people I've ever met. Since
she has resinged from JKP there was no point for me being with them.

Ralph Gardner Does Erotica LA
He writes:
I got to the convention on Friday. I got autographs from Nautica Thorn
and Rita Faltoyano. On Saturday, the longest lineup was for Jenna Jameson.
I got in line 90 minutes before she started signing. The huge mob of
photographers slowed the signing down. To speed up the line, a bodyguard
for Jenna told the crowd that Jenna would sign only one item. Some people
in the crowd expressed annoyance when this was announced. Some guy in
line said that most of the time Jenna signs two items. He said that
Jenna frequently signs for free. At the Club Jenna booth, McKenzie Lee
was signing to the left of Jenna. Before Jenna signed for me, she took
a break for a few minutes. A guy in the crowd expressed surprise that
she got back so quickly. Jenna was friendly and personalized the photo
for me.
One of the highlights of Sunday was meeting Jenna Haze for the second
time. I met her previously at the AVN Entertainment Expo 2005. When
it was my turn to get her autograph, she looked at my badge and noticed
that it said Carnal Comics. Jenna mentioned the Felecia comic book and
she spoke very highly about it. She was really charming. I bought several
Jenna Haze DVD's at the convention. Over the years I've seen photos
and clips of her on the internet but these were the first movies I ever
watched of Jenna Haze. I definately wan't to get more Jenna Haze DVD's.
She's very sexy and enthusiastic in the movies I saw of her. I even
like the way laughs. Some other porn fans think otherwise.
I took photos all 3 days of Erotica LA 2005. Melissa Monet visited
the Carnal Comics booth but she didn't do a signing there. Jasmin St.
Claire was scheduled to sign on Sunday (June 12th) but her autograph
signing didn't work out. Some people came by the booth asking if she
was going to make an appearance. In addition to Melissa Monet, there
were other women at Erotica LA 2005 that Carnal Comics has done biographies
about. Taylor Wane had her own booth, Rebecca Bardoux signed at Adult
1 Stop, Kylie Ireland signed at Platinum X Pictures and Tiffany Mynx
signed at Goalie Entertainment (Romantix) and Mofo Wear.
On Sunday, I talked to Kylie Ireland at the Friday Productions booth.
She was hanging out there because her slicks got locked in a cabinet
for hours. She was waiting for the slicks to out of the cabinet so she
could start signing again at the Platinum X Pictures booth. Kylie said
she has come up with a porn star fantasy story to go along with the
update of her comic book. Tiffany Mynx is also interested in her comic
book being updated. Rebecca Bardoux no longer had any copies of her
book so she was happy when I gave her one of the Rebecca Bardoux comic
books. Rebecca signed the 3 remaining copies of her book. When those
are sold, her book will be completely sold out.

A Pornographer Thinks A Second Time
I talk to him on the phone after he spent a few days on a mainstream
shoot.
"I was with so many wonderful people," he gushes, "so
many Jewish people who work in mainstream television. After telling them
a handful of stories about the business and the stuff I've been doing,
these guys think I am the most fascinating person they've ever met. They
want to do a show about me for HBO. I'd love to get out of porn.
"It was an emotional week for me because I got to realize that I
am way into the porn thing. It's almost a scarlet letter. These guys feel
bad for me. I've never had somebody feel bad for me. I can see where porn
can take its toll. These guys say, you are way too creative and way too
talented to work in porn.
"That's a good question.
"They all have this morbid curiosity about how it works. They ask,
aren't you exploiting women? I say, nobody is putting a gun to these girls'
heads.
"It's funny when you get the mainstream take on how they see porn.
Obviously my mom thinks that way but when you hear guys my age saying
the same thing...
"I really need to expand my horizons."

Craig: "I had a big meeting with Arnold yesterday."
I'm thinking, "Arnold Schwarzenegger?"
Duke: "Stein [of Old Pueblo Distributors]?"
Craig (who says he has a degree in engineering): "Yes. We're launching
our huge paysite company and cash [affiliate] programs in three weeks.
We've been working on it for a year.
"I've figured out a little piece of technology. I know I'm just
a dumb porn guy. I'm launching it on September 5. Everybody is doing wireless
porn. I've fixed it. It's tested fine. I can give you on one of your phones,
if it has enough memory, perfect video. It looks as good as a DVD."
Tyra Banxx Leaves JKP
She writes:
"I am officially free from JKP!" states former JKP contract girl Tyra.
"I had to wait and see what was really going on. When I realized that
Jill was not returning, and that the company was obviously not the same
company I signed with, I knew it was time to leave. If you do not have
Jill Kelly, what do you have?"
Tyra signed on with Jill Kelly Productions in November 2004, and was
featured in videos such as 'Tyra's Little Secrets' and 'Tyra's Runway
Rendezvous' and 'Boned.' Tyra was also a trophy girl at the AVN Awards
in Las Vegas in January.
"I met a lot of great people at JKP and I have the utmost respect for
Jill. She is an extremely smart woman who I admire for her strength
and professionalism. People with no knowledge or respect for the industry
are what destroyed JKP. I am glad that the industry as a whole realizes
that Jill was not the bad guy. She was what held the company together.
All of the girls only stayed on as long as they did out of loyalty to
her."
Friday Tyra picked up her last check from JKP. She said that Dan Ice,
the new COO did not even talk to her about it. "He made Scott do it,
to convince us it was in or best interest to leave. What does that tell
you?" asks Banxxx. "The employees are really great and I hope that they
can find other jobs within the industry. Yvette Garcia is an amazing
graphic designer, and Scott Hoover always supported me and got my name
and face out there when I was brand new. I will always be thankful to
my friends."
Tyra does not want to comment in depth on the future of JKP although
she said, "It does not look to good when Jill and all your contract
girls- something that you have built your company on- decide to leave.
It's very sad, but I look forward to working with some new talent, new
directors and possibly another contract down the road. I am working
on my website, totallytyra.com and getting myself working again. I can't
wait to start shooting again."
Tyra can be reached for bookings at tyrabanxxx1@aol.com
Wankus says Tyra's first non-contract shoot will be for Team Tyler July
23. Wankus will direct the boy-boy-girl, her first.
He calls me Friday afternoon.
Duke: "Are you doing scenes?"
Wankus: "I have done a couple but the focus of Team Tyler is more
on Tyler. I'll be directing and writing and things like that.
"Over the past few scenes, I'd always appear as a novelty in BJ
scenes and s---. 'Let's shoot goofy Wankus.' I've done a lot of non-sex
roles for Wicked and different companies. Tyler said to me recently that
she wanted to work with me on a production and I did it and I succeeded
at the scene without failing. If she wants to use me or people want to
use me with her, I'll do it but I probably won't be working with anybody
else because I don't have the desire to.
"The one with Tyler, full-on sex, should be out in a month. It's
something that Chef Jeff shot for a company out of Canada."
Duke: "This is a big step."
Wankus: "Yes, it is a big step. It's one thing to sit there and
get a blowjob. It's another thing to perform.
"But I surprised myself and after the scene, Tyler put me on her
list. 'I didn't think you'd be able to do it so well but you rocked it.'
"The whole day of, I was scared to death. But once we started shooting,
I was totally confident and just rocking. It was easy.
"She was saying, 'Don't worry. I'll carry the scene. You do your
thing and I'll relax.' It turned out that she had to tell me to calm down
because I was really carrying the scene.
"I don't want to make a habit of it, but if someone asks her who
she wants to work with and she chooses me, I'd rather have her choose
me than some random dude. It's not like I'm running for governor soon."

I'm pretty happy she's here. I'm sure my members and clients will love
her. But then, when I'm finished, she tells me she must go home and
talk things over with her dad.
"Well that's the last I'll see of her," I think to myself. But I was
wrong.
The next day she returned. She relayed to her father every detail I'd
told her. She even had him visit my websites. And together they had
done a bit of checking up on me as well. She was ready to pose!

Amy
Sohn Interview
The most recent naked picture of me is at three looking out a window.
I believe it was taken by my mother. I have no interest in posing naked
and never considered it. I consider myself an artist and not someone
who peddles her physical image.
About five years ago I was profiled in Penthouse by Ralph Gardner Jr.,
and they wanted to run photos even though my interview was running on
the cheap paper. I went to lunch with the art director and it became
clear that he also art directed the one-handed shoots too. I think he
said he and his wife were going through a divorce and he was dating
a woman who had posed for the magazine. I couldn't believe those sorts
of things actually happened.
US Commerce Department Maintains Authority to Block XXX
Domain Name Extension
Connor
Young writes on YNOT:
NEW YORK - The United States Commerce Department on Thursday reasserted
its veto power over all internet domain name extensions approved by
ICANN, and therefore has the authority to reject the dot-xxx domain
name extension should ICANN attempt to put it into play later this year,
YNOT has learned.
According to an Associated Press report, the United States Commerce
Department has reversed course over previous promises to eventually
relinquish authority over computers that control traffic on the internet,
and now claims it will maintain control over the computers and the master
list of top-level domain name extensions for the indefinite future.

She must choose one. Sounds like this woman needs a trip to the Museum

that be the title of your next book on how Jewish men can score with
hot young shiksas. Oh how I envy you.
The more you date hot young shiksas, the lower the probability that
you will ever be able to settle for any Jewish woman who would deign
to have you. Once you have dated 24, why would you even consider 38?
There is a subset of women in NY who are among the most beautiful on
earth - models, model wannabes, some of the actresses. But unless you
are seriously loaded to a degree other people just can't comprehend,
you have no chance with them. These are not the women you see on the
subway. Hot women do not ride the subway. And NY air, life is bad for
a woman's looks. Real bad. I just had this conversation with a women
friend of mine yesterday. She moved out of NY after a few years to avoid
becoming what she could see other women become here, a crone. Caustic,
leather-tough, angry at men, alone.
Kevin Blatt Vs. Dave Cummings
I got to know Dave Cummings in 1996 and Kevin Blatt in August of 1999.
They'd both rank among the most high profile persons in porn. Cummings
is one of the six plaintiffs in the FSC's lawsuit against the Department
of Justice's new 2257 regulations.

As many of you may or may not know one of my very first positions in
the online business was working as Director of Marketing for YNOT.
At that time, I was encouraged to make tradeshows a success and help
sell ads- Rick who was the orginal owner was very much a gentleman and
also told me he'd like to eventually sell the company- I told him I
can do that for him after building some equity back up in the company.
We spent a ton of money at the AVN show in FLA in 99-2000 and part of
the promotion was bringing a little known man into the booth named Dave
Cummings- an old retired Col for the Army- he along with Shayla LaVeaux,
and Serenity were a big hit- and I enjoyed introducing him to not only
the entire web community but to YNOT as well.
After the show- I arduously went about the task of tryin gto broker
Rick's company. I found a buyer in FCI/ Sextracker after meeting with
other companies such as AVN ( who passed and didn't realize what webmasters
were at that time) A deal was struck= and YNOT was sold for just under
5 Mil.
It was around a month or two before the sale that I brought in my best
friends down here to work for YNOT in SD Otto Geelan and Bob Rice (
YNOT BOB).
About a week or two after the company was purchased I was let go by
Otto and Andy Edmond- hence making a bitter rivalry of myself and YNOT
for a few yrs- I felt dejected, and depressed. I also felt betrayed.
However, I signed agreement with FCI not to disclose our outcome of
that and it's all water under the bridge now.
After my shakeup with YNOT I had a bout of depression and really didn't
know anymore who my friends were- it was at that time I was approached
by dave cummings to meet his webmaster, JMM or Jeff Miller and that
he really loved the way I handled Andy and YNOT on the boards and made
minced meat of of them.
He and I met with Dave and a deal was struck to be made a partner of
his new venture Sundownmedia.com and I would be made President and get
shares of stock in the company. This never happened.
Again I had some public blowouts with JMM and called bulls---. I felt
I was taken advantage of again.
I then got on with my life and was retained by Sextoynetwork.com owned
by Vivid and Goalie along with XPAYS at the time. I was still going
to to toe with Jeff Millier everyday on the boards and it was starting
to get to him.
One day while I am in the office at Goalie- I am pulled aside by Eddie
[Wedelstedt] the owner and Steven Hirsch owner of Vivid ands asked
" who is Jeff Miller and why are you f---ing with him"?
I then tell him the story of what went down and I am then told ...I
need to let it go because he had received a phone call from some serious
guys back East and they say to lay off of him.
Now anyone that knows Eddie knows he is old school and has a lot of
connections. He told me the people that called him made the hair on
the back of his neck stand up. The XPAYS boys were witnesses to this
conversation.
Long story short - I let it go. JMM and I made amends the next trade
show. I agreed to let it die if he would let it die- even though I was
furious I was being "squeezed" and my job in jeopardy.
We both go on our separate ways and JMM is Dave's webmaster and runs
Dave's program.

After sex toy network folded, I was then approached by guys at a company
called HERBALO to head up their marketing and sales. They were familiar
with me as well through reading my rants about Andy / YNOT/ and JMM.
I went to go work for them and helped make that company a major player
in the herbal business online bringing in affiliates like CE, Babenet,
XPAYS, Vivid, Python etc.
I had moved in to another direction, consulting. Now I could sign 3,
6 and 9 month contracts to promote companies and not have to be an "employee."
I start making some dough, my friends are all spamming and making huge
money - we are all partying and good.
I go to a party at the sex.com house and meet a girl named Holly Miles-
a fledgling, little porn star who hadn't even begun to live her life
at the age of 20 yet. She was introduced to the biz by working as a
secretary for my friend, Brian Muir- she later went on to shoot hardcore
scenes and her s--- is everywhere.
One of the first people she meets and shoots for is Dave Cummings the
Sugar Daddy In fact one of their scenes they filmed was busted up by
cops here in a public park. Both of them were chagrined to say the least.
Holly and I get a little more serious as time passes and I don't want
her shooting B/G scene anymore as well as she says she will only do
G/G. Holly liked to take Vicodin's and pop pills, she would go to Mexico
three times a week and pick up literally hundreds of pills and bring
them back for friends and support her habit.
One night while she is in a coma sleeping, her phone starts ringing
off the hook - I notice the numbers are local and write down the numbers
only to call them later- One number gets traced back to a major player
in the novelty business who is MARRIED and loves to f--- whores at every
tradeshow. I question her about the calls and she tells me "it's
people looking to buy pills."
I am no idiot, maybe someone would call franticly for cocaine or speed
but Vicodin? Didn't buy it. I finally told her I knew what was up and
she started telling me the truth that she was HOOKING on the side and
that Dave Cummings made some introductions to his buddies and they became
clients of Holly's.
I was devastated, heartbroken and pissed that she had lied to me. Not
to mention I was sleeping with a girl who was sleeping with old men.
I had no idea what the hell she could have given me. As with any relationship-
we tried to work it out but her drug problem became critical. I stepped
up and made a very hard call to her father whom I had never met and
had to tell him that his daughter was not only a danger to herself she
was going to die. If you think it gave me great pleasure to have to
tell someone's father that their daughter is hooked on drugs and tricking
to get by, you are crazy.
Of course she was in denial and she felt so betrayed that I would such
a thing. I told her- "You may not like me- you may even hate me- but
someday YOU WILL Thank me."
It was at that time, she was approached by JMM through Dave to run
her website for her. She cried about what an asshole I was to him and
he said he would get "even with me."

I believe in AA they call these types of predators "enablers."
At some point over a year ago, she goes to JMM's office equipped with

Subject: Confirmation for Paris Hilton Sex Tapes Article
Hello:
My name is Diane Crawford and I am a freelance journalist doing a story
on
the Paris Hilton Sex Tape scandal for several online publications. I
am
trying to reach someone from Marvad or the website sexbrat.com for
confirmation on the kiddy porn rumors that are now abound. If I have
not
reached the right people, please forward my message to the person/persons
who can officially comment.
I spoke with a Mr. Kevin Blatt, Director of marketing for sexbrat.com.
I am
seeking clarification on two quotes from my interview with Mr. Blatt:
1. "I don't know if the tape is kiddy porn, at this point nobody
really
does. We know when the tape was made and we know her (Paris Hilton)
birthday so you do the math. The tape was acquired legitimately so any
kiddy porn charges would go against either Donald or Ron. You would
have to
discuss it with them."
2. "We have a signed release and the tape was acquired legitimately.
Paris
is a smart girl and she saw what the Pam/Tommy video did for Pam's career.
She can pretend to be a victim, but she is playing the media just like
she
said that she is being played."
I would appreciate clarification or comments as soon as possible. I
would
like the story to go out today and I have a 3 p.m. PDT deadline.

I report this incident to the FBI and work with law enforcement to try
and find out who did this to me.
Turns out, Holly comes to the Vegas show two years ago and gets spun
out on speed and nearly has a nervous breakdown when she sees me on
the showfloor she is walking the how floor with JMM and his wife.
Ten minutes after seeing her she calls my cell phone apologizes and
wants to see me deperately.
She then comes clean [Luke interjects: I have no evidence that the following
assertion is true, Jeff Miller says it is not true] and tells me that
it was Jeff Miller that got into my machine and was reaking havoc and
that he bragged about having all my passwords and such.
She had a breakdown, we apologized and I got dressed and went to the
Players Ball with Vivid Girl Monique Alexander- which made Holly a little
jealous- but who knew things would happen like this?
I then call Dave Cummings and JMM and tel them what I had learned only
to have them deny all accusations.
Keep in mind, I know the truth.
I let it go and give them a stern warning that if this s--- persists
I'll let this story fly publicly- while all the while I was forwarding
L-ke Ford every email back and forth and Luke was abreast of everything.
I felt the need to tell a third party. I did out of fear for my life
before I found out who were the culprits.
Someone was out to ruin my life...
Holly gets clean and sober- she thanks me for being her "living
angel on Earth" on a weekly basis now which makes my heart feel
real good.
She is in college and works a real job and lives at home.
I keep my mouth shut about the entire thing ...I once again move on.
I start doing some consulting work for Dennis Hof of the Bunnyranch,
simple suff like getting him a webmaster a new site designed, as well
as sold a few banners on his site. we start having a friendly relationship.
I go out to the ranch and visit him and he attends our Players Ball's
VIP.
A few weeks back I am forwarded an email that came from Dave [Cummings]
to Dennis at the ranch about an incredible opportunity he has for Dennis
to make over $100,000 with the guys at YNOT running his site for him.
I laugh and tell [Dennis] that is not going to happen.
He blows it off.
A week ago Dennis calls me and asks me if I want to sell some sponsorships
again since he is ramping up his press for Cathouse by going on a lot
of mainstream television as well as Stern. I raise some sponsorships
in the form of banner spots on the site thanks to ( LITEROTICAVOD, FACIALABUSE.COM
and SEXSEARCH).
Things are going great for me this week. I make a few posts that get
picked up on Luke and Gene Ross' sites in regards to how I feel AVN
treats their female employees, something that I believe is still protected
by the 1st Amendment, and make several anti-AVN comments
I get an email from My client last night forwarded to me from Dave Cummings
that reads...
"Re: Hope AVN Doesn't Think You Support kbizzle (kevin blatt)!!!!!
Please Call me at 800-522-3933 "
And it's linked to the article on Gene's site.
Now I am hoping this act of stupidity was of Dave's own volition, and
that AVN wouldn't be stupid enough to try to collude with Dave to shut
me up by blocking me.
WHAT BUSINESS WAS IT OF YOUR'S DAVE TO GET INVOLVED WITH MY BUSINESS?
I ask you for an apology and I get this as my response?
"The entity that wanted to explore the possibility of assisting
Dennis in revitalizing his site does not want trouble from you, so I
will now be able to back out of trying to marry them up on the phone."
Jeff
Miller of SunupMedia responds:
Kevin, I have no clue why every year or so you want to drag me in to
your life. I tried to call you to find out why, but you wouldn't answer
the phone.
So, since Mutt brought it up, let's start with that one.
There was no call from some "east coast" guys as Kevin would like everyone
to believe. No neck hairs stood on end. A phone call was made by the
owner of Gentlemans Video (someone I was doing business with) who was
a personal friend of Kevin's employer at that time. The call was made
without my knowledge. No threats were made. No repercussions were threatened
or implied. The call was made to point out how foolish the company was
made to look while being represented by Kevin Blatt. Kevin Blatt has
never "gotten to me".
Yes, I hired Kevin Blatt after he was fired from YNOT. Yes, I fired
him shortly thereafter because quite frankly, the guy didn't do anything.
A pattern that seems to have been repeated multiple times with multiple
companies since then. To my credit, I was the FIRST idiot to hire Kevin
Blatt. Being the first, meant that I could not have known that Kevin
Blatt brought absolutely nothing to the table. To my discredit, I fired
him after 6 months I believe and I should have fired him after 6 days,
but that is water under the bridge.
As for hacking into his computer. That is not only actionable, it is
also laughable. I couldn't hack my way into a paper bag. What did occur,
was that I assisted Holly Miles in retreiving a password to HER yahoo
email account that Kevin had changed. It was an account she used to
get modeling jobs. During this time, Kevin took it upon himself to email
as many content providers as possible to tell them that Holly was a
drug addict and that they shouldn't hire her.
Dave told me that Holly wanted to run her own site and would I help,
I said sure. After meeting with Holly and drafting a contract, it soon
became evident that it wasn't going to work, and we dropped the matter.
I did have a meeting with Holly and WEG at the show. WEG was looking
for a girl to head up a series of sites. It was not a gangbang house,
and there was no contract signed. As the "webmistress" Holly would do
several boy/girl scenes. Not gangbangs, and not live in a house where
she would constantly be gangbanged. I have no idea where that all came
from. Again, Holly disappeared and nothing ever came of it....
Dave Cummings served his country for many years. He also jumped in
front of a bullett that is/was heading for every single one of you.
In my opinion Dave Cummings is a true hero, in more ways than one.
Brujah posts: "Wasn't Houston KB's girlfriend too ? I don't think
he has a problem with his girlfriends f---ing other guys for money, nor
with participation on gangbangs."
KB tells Brad Shaw that he's been clean and sober (no cocaine) for 22
days (I don't think this sobriety program includes absention from marijuana.
Brad writes: "Good for you KB, stay clean. Drugs are bad, even that
wacky weed crap that many people think is so harmless."
Dave Cummings responds:
In my First Amendment Protected personal opinion:
1. Yawn!
2. Perhaps someone needs to grow up, and stop childishly being delusional
about his own self-importance, and burdening us with his constant drama?
3. Dennis Hof is a friend. My email was intended to alert him that his
"seller-of-banners-for www.bunnyranch.com" might possibly
make it difficult for future interaction/advertising/etc with AVN, as
previously, if it possibly appeared/connoted that being a kb client
meant any hint of agreement with what appeared to be kb's subjective/personal/family-related
recent posting about a former AVN employee. The email was sent because
of my friendship and loyalty to Mr Hof. AVN had nothing whatsoever to
do with me alerting Dennis.
4. Holli Miles once asked my help finding bookings so that she could
earn money for late car payments (or car accident repairs, I can't recall
which) and other expenses. She preferred not to have to drive to LA
for porn shoots. I gave her the contact info for a respected local married
guy who had told me that he was thinking about starting some video productions
and might need adult models, and I referred her for some work on Playboy
Television. It wasn't "pimping" per se as I know it -- I was
merely trying to be helpful to her (doesn't pimping normally mean the
pimp earns money off of the girl? I did NOT earn any money!). She eventually
was booked on Playboy's "Night Calls":-)! I also heard some
comments indicating something about Holli needing more money and attempting
to extort a sizeable amount of cash off of the married guy, lest another
person involved in the conspiracy would "rat" to his wife
about the sessions with Holli---I can't recall the specifics, but I
believe Holli and whoever was leaning on her in the extortion conspiracy
eventually dropped the money demands.
5. Girls in the Adult Industry often relocate. Every January when I
send out the 1099's for talent earning $600 or more during the previous
taxable year, some are returned with a USPS stamp indicating the person
is no longer at that location and no forwarding address was available.
I keep those still-sealed envelopes containing the individual's 1099
with my Tax records to indicate that I sent the 1099 in good faith to
the address on the Model Release form. I think I left an answering machine
message asking Holli to give me her new address, or tell me to send
her 1099 to her past address and let the USPS forward it to her--it
was her call, but I recall counseling that she still had the tax liability
if she had me use the last model release address and it came back to
me as undeliverable. I did indeed send out Holli's 1099 to the address
on her last model release--I can't recall, but I think it came back
undeliverable.
6. If this board is indeed monitored by DOJ or others, the initiator
of this thread could possibly be gravely, recklessly, and negatively
damaging the fight against 2257 and in turn against MANY of the members
of this board, not just me, by his rantings??????? Might not this thread
be selfishly promotional, while hurting the American Adult Internet
Industry? Perhaps it's time for all postings to this and related threads
to cease????
7. Other than paragraph 8 below, I will NOT post additional comments
to this thread.
8. Yawn!
Kevin
Blatt responds:
Great post Dave. Funny part is Dennis told me he has met you 6 times
in his life and on ONE occasion you visited the ranch. He also told
me he had no idea why you sent him this email. You made it out to me
as though Dennis was one of your best friends. I think you are more
of a name dropper. What you don't know about MY relationship with Dennis
is that I have done only good things for him, made him money, and had
his back with some legal affairs. I am not just someone who goes to
the ranch to use up Dennis' generous free comps. I speak to Dennis regularly
and he trusts me. What does AVN have to do with Dennis' or my business
anyway? What did you get out of it by being a NOSEY, SNOOPING HATER?
DO YOU WORK FOR AVN? You think I am doing this industry harm by telling
the truth about you and how you act? Maybe the industry needs to know
that you have have two faces. One that may be helping support our case
against .XXX. The other is a great way of getting the publicity you
crave so much? Grandstanding for your own benefit by signing your name
next to Alberto Gonzalez' on a TRO to sell videos is far more destructive
than me exposing the truth.
Brad Shaw writes: "I hope [Dave Cummings] pays them as little as
possible. This is America, and business is business. Heck, I shot 100's
of hardcore scenes in Vancouver paying no more than $150. Talent in LA
was in la la land over prices. Of course the Canadians finally woke up
and realized they could get more $."
Why
Do Porn Stars Dislike Luke?
Yanker writes:
It's probable that most porn stars dislike LF because he simply writes
their blabberings down for future comparison to the truth. For most
porners this is the equivalent of a giant bulls--- meter being placed
over their head for all to see. It's surely very annoying for those
who like to re-invent their past every few months or so.
Venus
Interview
We talk Tuesday afternoon on the set of Ariana
Jollee: No Holes Barred.
She's been in porn for eight years and describes herself as a "big
whore."
She qualifies: "I'm not a hooker. I do it because I like it."
Trent Tesoro is intimidated by the five page release form. "They're
like tests. I get answers wrong. It's a lot of pressure."
Venus leafs through the release. "I should read it," she admits.
"I have no idea what they're saying in here."
I lie down beside her and we get comfy.
I say in my most confidential and intimate voice, as though for the first
time: "When you were a little girl, what did you want to be when
you grew up?"
Venus: "I changed my mind all the time, but I wanted to be a marine
biologist because I like fish. But I sucked at math and science. I've
always liked writing. I still do.
"I've always wanted to be a model."
Duke: "What did your family expect you to become?"
Venus: "Nothing."
Duke: "How old were you when you lost your virginity?"
Venus: "Fourteen."
Duke: "Your boyfriend? A family member?"
She laughs. "I knew that was coming. Not a boyfriend. A football
player in highschool."
She left home at 15.
She spent her first 18 years living up and down the East Coast. Then
she moved to Las Vegas and then Los Angeles at 19. "I started doing
magazine stuff for a year. I took everything slow. I did girl-girl for
a couple of years. Then boy-girl."
Venus says she's never dated anyone inside the industry. She says she
had kids with an asshole and stayed with him for five years.
Duke: "How did your family react to your becoming a porn star?"
Venus: "My parents are Southern Baptist so we don't mention it.
We ignore it. It doesn't exist. Don't ask."
Duke: "Did you go to church every week growing up?"
Venus: "Three or four times a week."
Duke: "So what happened?"
Venus: "I had too much church. I never made it back."
Duke: "What are your life ambitions?"
Venus: "To see the world. To be content with me as a person. I want
to create at least one masterpiece of art in this business."
Duke: "What part of your work do you find most meaningful?"
That stumps her for ten seconds. "Oh G-d. Porn is a certain stress
release. It suits me. I pay my bills. I enjoy what I do. That's it."
I hear a yell from the bedroom. Genesis Skye has a chipped tooth. Trent
was slamming her mouth down on him and he got cut in a sensitive area.
He cleans up and goes back to work.
