Jessica
Dee - Sad report in German Newspaper SZ
Stemcell
writes on ADT:
Yesterday I was somewhat surprised when I opened my daily newspaper
"Süddeutsche Zeitung" - for those not familiar with Germany´s print
media landscape: Briefly said it is equivalent to what the NY Times
manifests in the States!
Okay, the frontcover headline of their weekly magazine - SZ Magazin
- was: Jessica's last shooting - The lethal scene.
Here´s a brief summary for those who do not have German language skills.
(Do not blame me for grammar and style mistakes, please. I am not a
native English speaker!)
The report starts with an explanation how Jessica got infected with
HIV at a porno shooting. Then her mental situation is described and
her decision stop crying about the situation, but she still does! After
that she says that "They want to get rid of me."
"A
couple of minutes before Larry had told her that the shooting for SPERM
Spites - her fourth movie as director has been suspended... As always
Larry couldn't stand her tears. Larry murmurs: "Always this howling."
Larry is CEO of Platinuum X Pictures. "The adult biz is a tolerant
business," says Larry. "But one type of human beings are incompatible
with the adult biz: Those infected with HIV."
The next paragraph tells something about Larry´s and his daughter Jewel
D'Nyle background. Then the reporter gives a down-to-earth account about
Jessica´s work as a porn actress. A paragraph about her former agent
Dick Nasty follows.
Next the reporter give his impression about a HC scene with Steve Holmes
and Melissa Lauren, directed by Kylie Ireland. The dialogue between
Kylie and her husband Bryn Pryor is quoted word for word.
Then Steve Holmes tells the reporter about his background. Until the
age of 35 he has been a Manager with the Software industry and a company
car. He lived in a wealthy area near Munich. From that former life only
his wife and his two daughters have still left. They meet each other
rarely, because Steve commutes Between the three porn centres Budapest,
Prag and the Valley. He plans moving to Barcelona with his family soon.
We are informed that he earns about $40,000 a month as director. When
working as an actor he gets $700 and he is able to do two scenes per
day.
In the next paragraph a lighting technician talks about Jessia Dee
as "collateral damage." Steve is not happy about that expression.
Then the lighting technician is quoted with: "The four movies she
has directed have others done for her. Jessica Dee is history."
Next comes a summary about AIM and Sharon Mitchell. Now the story
returns to Jessica and how she got into the adult biz step by step leaving
her hometown of Ostrava with the age 17. Her family background is explained
quite in detail. Now we getting informed that a fourty year old man
[American porn performer] married Jessica after she got infected with
HIV.
Her current financial situation is getting worse day by day. She has
to pay $1000 a month for HIV medication. If that´s not enough bad news,
now the US immigration and tax authorities accussing her with illegal
earnings of more than $100,000 Dollars. Therefore she has lost her residence
permit. Were she to leave the USA, she never could enter the country
again!
The report ends with her saying she now wants to find out in what movie
the DAP (Double Anal Penetration) scene is used for having her life
changed forever. Sad, very sad about her!
AC Cream writes:
Everyone who became HIV infected was involved in 1 film for TT Boy
titled...."Split That Booty #2". If you search for that film today (as
not to leave a smoking gun)that film was released without Jessica's,
Miss Arroyo's, & Lara Roxx's scenes. Though informed people who took
the time to read all the news coming out around that time know Bianca
Biaggi is the actual Patient Zero and not Darren James. Bianca Biaggi's
scene was still released in that film. She immediately retired after
the HIV story broke, but a Transsexual Bianca had just worked with for
Joey Silvera just prior to "Split That Booty #2" turned up HIV positive.
Then a director in Brazil that tried to hire Bianca back in Brazil said
she was HIV positive. Darren James, Lara Roxx, Miss Arroyo, & Jessica
Dee should come together and either through subpoena or whatever should
try to force Bianca Biaggi to return to the US to be tested. Those 4
people shouldn't struggle to survive while TT Boy's company goes on
making him money.
Steve Holmes writes:
I met the SZ Magazin reporter in L.A. and we hang out for a couple
of days. A very nice guy. But the way he tells the story is not true.
He might have misunderstood something in the short time he was here.
John Stagliano is the best example that you can have a career after
being infected. You should also know something about the structure of
PXP. It is mainly a distribution company. Jewel De'Nyle, John Strong,
Manuel Ferrara, Michael Stefano, Sean Michaels, Brandon Iron and me
are independent producers. We cover all the cost and turn in a finished
product for distribution. We all have certain slots for release. Manuel
and Michael left to RLD but still own the movies they shot for PXP.
Jewel gave Jessica a chance to direct some of the movies Jewel owns.
She never worked for PXP. She worked for Jewel.
I like Jessica Dee a lot as a person and I feel sorry for her situation.
I was neither involved in hiring nor firing of her but I can understand
both decisions. Jewel wanted to give her a chance but Jessica couldn't
live up to the expectations.
I personally use Darren James as PA and behind the scenes camera man
when I shoot in L.A. A very nice and talented guy.
Give Me Your Soul
Jamie
Brian writes:
I was up pretty late last night watching Give Me Your Soul, that Canadian
documentary produced a few years back. Ya, it was a pretty shoddily
made, biased piece of crap. Luke F0rd came off as the coolest mother
f---er in the world though, Reservoir Ford in his suit and all. I love
the way it showed JD Ram, presenting the industry as uncaring and selfish.
Every year Hollywood churns out drug addicts, some of which die (see
Rodney Harvey, John Belushi). Nobody is producing these kinds of documentaries
about Hollywood -- presenting the actors who worked with them as uncaring
and selfish. The stuff with Kimberly Jade was a wee bit creepy.

The director, Paul Cowan, backed up by a mostly female crew, clearly
had an agenda going in - to show the industry as evil. He had his researchers,
one of which was obviously Luke F0rd, draw up the absolute worst elements
of the industry, and then went about designing a story around that.
1) The drug addict - OD, clearly Cowan found that he could exploit
the pain of JD's family and girlfriend, and fit it perfectly into his
agenda. By bringing them along to the awards, he was able to provide
proof that the industry was selfish and uncaring - forget the fact that
various members of the industry did try to get JD help. Yes, maybe the
industry should've given the family more attention, but clearly JD was
a troubled individual who was beyond help.
2) The Marc Wallice nightmare. This was the ONLY thing that Cowan could
hang the industry on. Kimberly Jade made a very good point when she
talked about the day she found out she was notified of her +HIV status,
and how various industry types tried to get her to keep it under wraps.
"Let's keep it in the family," Sharon Mitchell supposedly told her.
When it comes to matters of life and death, that whole family thing
doesn't walk damn. The industry-wide condemnation of Luke F0rd for getting
the let out about Marc made no sense to me. He should have been applauded,
but that's just my opinion.
3) The Katie June thing with her mom bothered me, but, f---, seriously
how often does that happen, really? I think Cowan lucked out by finding
Katie and her mom. I'm sure this kind of stuff goes on in Hollywood,
but in this documentary, it was so matter-of-fact and it just seemed
so wrong. Like I said, I can't understand it, but seriously it wasn't
the industry's fault that it happened. Did the industry exploit these
two women, yes, of course, but it also paid them for their services.
See if Walmart will pay that much... See if Walmart cares either. At
the end of the documentary there was a piece about how Randy West actually
bailed Katie out of jail, after she got into some trouble with the law.
4) The lonely masturbators. I think Cowan was trying to show where
a life of porn watching will lead a person. How sad, how utterly pathetic.
Yes, it surely is, but don't be pointing your camera and making judgements.
Cowan was clearly getting what he wanted in that room on that night.
Nothing like exploiting those lonely people, then seemingly placing
the blame on the industry.
The whole documentary seemed to want to place all the blame on the
shoulders of the dirty immoral porn industry, but every month somebody
in the music industry dies of a drug overdose but nobody blames the
whole of that industry for all the problems that exists within it. They
blame the individual. Am I making any sense? Probably not, but these
are my feelings on the documentary.
The fact that Cowan decided to point his camera at the darkest area
of the industry, trotting out Rob Black and such, the same way every
other person doing a documentary about porn has done, only showed me
that he is highly unoriginal. Clearly, there are some good things that
happen in porn - friendships, love stories, money, hard work, intelligent
kind people, etc... Nobody EVER makes a documentary about these things.
Everybody is looking for their own Bella Donna story, and I'm so tired
of it.
Big Daddy writes: "Katie June was great in a couple of scenes I
saw back when. She was supposed to be some kind of mad vixen in Nashville,
where she beat guys up at her strip club. Canadians! They live to make
docs exposing American wrongness. It's their religion. It is! They are
state funded. If it wasn't for comics and folksigers and documentarians
and moose, Canada would not exist. OK, all that and Brandon."
ChickenMaster writes: "The naivety of Katie June made my skin crawl
and I hated her mother, arrogant bag. Rob Black is antithesis of anything
good, and that makes him cool in my books."
Former Adult.com Programmer to blow the whistle on Adult.com
and CE?
Mike69
posts on GFY:
Seems there were some rumours floating around Internext this year...
Due to the birth of my son I was not there.... This was sent to Lensman
from a source I will not name.
I was told this story at Internext by a couple of different sources:
About a year ago, a former programmer for adult.com was going to tell
AVN editor Tom Hymes that adult.com and CE supposedly shaved and that
he had evidence. Then, this programmer supposedly received a death
threat from you and he's been afraid and quiet and hiding ever since.
Any truth to this?
Well since I am the only person that these rumours could be about..
let me state this publicly... While Lensman and I have have not always
seen eye to eye. Nothing like this has ever transpired. We handle any
differences we have between us.
I have never spoken to anyone from AVN for any reason... How would
I know anything about CE? I have never worked for CE, nor examined any
CE code. I have never coded a system for Lensman that included any kind
of shave. The odd time I have done the opposite if something in our
systems messed up, he had me write code to give bonuses.
Death threats... hmmm - that is so far away from Lensman personality,
who ever started this must not know him. Afraid and Quiet and Hiding....
lmao.... I guess they don't me very well either... lol While I have
no reason to speak FM.. I do speak to Lensman on a regular basis...
he actualy suggested I get a SIDS motion monitor for my new son....
So these rumors pure bull.
Lensman writes on GFY: "Right on Mike. Like I've always maintained,
we have an open book to any credible developer that wants to review our
software for honestly. Come on over. Of course, we use Nats now for RealityCash,
but someone wants to look for a shave in our older software, let me know.
Only one requirement, you cannot take with code with you!"
Bama writes:
Wait a second now. What if they did threaten you to make this post
to denounce the death threat you received in Vegas? What if they knew
that we'd think that you were being threatened to to denounce the Vegas
death threat and threatened you again if you didn't denounce this threat
of the death threat that you received in Vegas.
Then surely they'd know we'd know that you knew that we'd think that
you'd denounce that this post was made under threat and that you did
indeed receive a death threat in Vegas Perhaps AaronM was the hired
gun who was supposed to take you out in a brutal and public execution
during the GFY party if you didn't denounce that any death threat was
ever threatend but you denounced the threat and the contract was cancelled
and Aaron left the convention in a huff cause he didn't get to kill
anybody.
BUT - that opens up a whole new can of possibilities. Maybe FM threatned
Lensman to threaten you with a death threat and AaronM was there to
take out Lensman if the guy Lensman hired didn't take out Mike unless
all the death threats were denounced. If that were the case, we'd know
that Mike was denouncing that he'd be threatned to start this thread
to denounce the death threat that Lensman issued under the threat of
a threat FM issued.
Carly Milne: 'The Day I Was Accused Of Trying To Bang
Female Talent...'
Carly
writes:
I remember sitting with Boss 1 and 2 talking about the book - the day
I was accused of trying to bang female talent - and explaining to them
that I wasn't trying to hide anything from them, I just saw it as outside
work and didn't think it was an issue because it wouldn't infringe on
my work for them, however I had plans to include Danni Ashe, Suze and
Holly Randall, and anyone else associated with the company in the book
to help further promote the brand. They seemed pleased with this. When
I called Boss 1 about the reality show and told him about the reach
and the demographic of the show, therefore showing it would be great
exposure for the company, not once was I told not to do it.
Serge Birbrair: "I will no longer post on Oprano.
I am not welcomed there any more."
Here's
the thread. Serge sold Oprano.com a few weeks ago to Nick @ Ilynx.com.
"Because I wanna move to non-adult with all my heart, adult bores

Mike South Reviews Paul Fishbein's Appearance On KSEX
Mike writes on MikeSouth.com:
First; Kudos to Cytheria for getting him on, Paul is pretty reclusive,
specially these days. It was pretty tame really, all the blogs and gossip
sites were present...
Paul fielded some questions, admitting that Jules Jordan had started
out working for him as a clerk in one of his video stores.
I asked Paul about Expo and since he was letting in so many fans and
making money from that why couldn't the booth costs be drastically reduced
or given out for free. He responded that it was expensive to stage the
show blah blah blah. Then he said Hey I'm a Jew I am in business to
make money.
HUH? He actually made a joke and thumbed his nose at the idea that
capitalism is a bad thing? Damn Paul you are sounding awful Libertarian/Republican
all of a sudden, You best be careful or the left wing bed wetting Democrats
are going to revoke your membership.
What Paul did do on KSEX was give us all a glimpse of a MASTER Politician
at work, the guy is good. Period. It took some degree of guts to go
on and I admire that. But then I have always gotten along well with
Paul, he has aways made me feel that my thoughts are as important to
him as Steve Hirsch's or Christian Mann's.
Imagine Tim Connelly on there...THAT wouldn't have been as pretty.

'My, but you are ageing very well'
I ran into an old would-be
girlfriend today. I say "would be" because, well, while I wanted to
date her (this was ten years back), she did not think me good enough to
date her. So here we are, ten years on, and both of us are still single.
She complimented me so well that I began to blush: "My, but you are ageing
well. You know, you are getting to look more and more like Brad Pitt!"
I looked in the mirror when I returned home and knew that she was right.
But she, on the other hand, clearly has lost her looks. And to think that
she could have had me.
Ladies, don't let this happen to you in life. Learn to settle for Mister
Goodenough.
Khunrum writes:
I wonder if this lady felt any regrets letting you get away. After
all, she could be living at your Hovel and driving the delivery van
now. I'd wager that your experience has happened to all us guys at one
time or another.
Sometimes we have to thank our lucky stars we got clean away. I recall
running into an former girlfriend who, when we split, was just slightly
overweight. One year later she was "mundo rotundo". As though she had
been held captive and force fed for a year.
Advise all your male readers to keep in mind the French equation for
choosing a mate. Half your age plus 7 years. For instance, for you it
would be 38 divided by 2 = 19, plus 7 = 26. A lady 26 would be perfect
for you. That seems a bit old though. I'd go for 24 or 25 just to play
it safe.
Why Did JKP Split From Bizarre?
Insider writes:
One thing about JKP -- they are famous for announcing "done deals"
then it never happens. Remember the JKP Clubs? Bob Friedland made a
big deal about buying a New York City hotspot. He said he was going
to reopen it as JKP club and then use it as a springboard opening a
nationwide chain (something that it looks like Vivid is doing, something
they should pull off). This never happened. My suspicion is that when
it came time to hand over cash, JKP couldn't do it. This is the reason
why the Bizarre deal failed.
JKP has no money. They are a struggling lower-end porn company that
went public to A) pay off debts they couldn't repay (through stock in
lieu), and B) defraud naive investors to repay Bob Friedland for the
money he threw down the black hole. What true investment (as in cash
spent) has the public JKP ever followed through with since announcing
it?
Will Teresa Flynt Run The Show?
Will Larry Flynt's daughter Teresa take over LFP now that Jim Kohls and
Mark Hamilton are gone? She was active at the show in Las Vegas, which
is not like her.
Rob Spallone calls: "I just read your site and saw that you wrote
something about Teresa Flynt. Luke, I don't ever want to see you write
anything bad about Teresa. Me and Teresa are friends. If she does get
Jim Kohls' job, she deserves it."

Tod Hunter concludes at the end of the show: "That was a waste of
time and bandwidth."
Paul Fishbein says, "Tod Hunter is a waste of a person. How low he has
sunk. He has officially become one of the bottom-feeders of the industry.
How sad."
Tod Hunter replies:
My statement - "That was a waste of time and bandwidth" - was based
on the fact that I was not enlightened or amused by his appearance on
KSEX. I didn't learn anything I didn't already know, except for some
trivialities that I didn't care about. In the chat room, Jay Moyes at
least confirmed that the 2006 Adult Expo was going to be at the Sands
Convention Center instead of my oft-predicted Mandalay Bay, so maybe
I was a little harsh. But just a little.
Paul has shown himself to be a liar - I can still hear him telling
me "You'll never be fired, you're grandfathered in" - and a sad little
man chasing after his lost youth. He has gathered around him a group
of yes-men and sycophants who tell him exactly what he wants to hear,
and he dismisses those who no longer toe his line as "bottom feeders."
He obviously has no clue about the contempt for him and AVN out there,
and it's not up to me to tell him. And if he "doesn't read the sites,"
as he averred to me the last time we spoke, how does he know what I'm
doing on Tod-Hunter.net?
The less said about the theft of tod-hunter.com the better, as far
as I'm concerned.
I would say that a rich 50-year-old guy hooking up with a twentyish
pornchick to be his third wife has his nerve calling somebody else a
"bottom-feeder." But I have no intention of getting into a pissing match
with Paul. He can keep his hand-picked crew and I can do my thing. If
I make a living, I'll be okay.
Gene Ross writes
that he was entertained by Fishbein's appearance.
Kat Slater Replaces
Mark Hamilton As Head Of Production For Hustler Video?
How Christina Peters Came to Direct Porn
By Richard Abowitz,
Las Vegas Weekly
Kat Slater, the director of Hustler's successful series Young Sluts
Inc., remembers the night almost two years ago when she stayed at my
barren apartment, and I inspired her to embark on a career in porn:
"I did an independent movie for MGM in 1999, and it wasn't released
in any form until last year. That was quite a lag time. In Hollywood,
no one is banging down your door until you are already busy. I was hanging
around Hollywood waiting for people to call me back. I decided to go
on a road trip back home to Wisconsin. Leaving L.A. in my car, I stopped
the first night in Vegas to see my old friend from college, Richard
Abowitz."
I remember the night well. Kat (weird, still, for me to use her porn
name) had always been the most driven person I knew. She arrived in
L.A. with nothing but a bachelor's degree; I know from experience how
useless that is. But, while working as a temp, she managed to write
her film and then, even more impressive, succeeded in getting the funding
to direct it herself.
Kat's life dream may have gone direct to video, but that is further
than most of us get, and I was proud of her each time I walked past
its box at Hollywood Video. But this modest success had taken her years
of relentless effort, and during this visit she was tired, depressed
and, worst of all, not sure what to do next.
I wanted to encourage her. I didn't know how, since, in truth, I had
strong doubts about her chances. It's not that I didn't believe in her
talents; it's that Kat's sensibility seemed all wrong for Hollywood.
Her movie, set at a school, was packed with scenes of teenagers doing
drugs and engaging in sexual violence. In fact, considering the graphic
subject matter, it seemed a tribute to her abilities as well as to her
powers of persuasion that the film was made at all. The script for her
next film was, if anything, more extreme. I couldn't imagine that it
would ever be made.
.......................
Kat Slater's real name is Christina Peters. She wrote and directed the horrible
2000 movie The Smokers
with funding from producer Nicholas Loeb. They met on a date and she persuaded
him to make the movie.
Prior to porn and The Smokers, Christina Peters, had never written or directed
anything.
Christina had been trying to get her screenplay (The Smokers) made for ten
years.
Christina Peters by phone April 12, 2002.
Christina: "Yes, I was a blind date. And I joked him [Nicholas Loeb] with
that it was probably the most expensive blind date he ever had. We dated
for about a month. Then we were just friends. He graduated college and wanted
to produce a movie. And he asked me to produce it because I was going through
ups and downs and all other s---..."
"How did you feel about how the movie turned out? [It got harsh reviews.]"
Christina: "It's a lot like life. I feel happy and not so happy. I was extremely
happy that MGM picked it up and it went out to video stores and people can
see it. That's the ultimate dream of an artist - that people see your work.
I was disappointed in seeing how everything works. It's no longer your movie
anymore. There are so many cooks in the kitchen and everyone changing something.
"I haven't seen the final product. I was so excited when I first made the
movie but I did so much with it, it became like my firstborn child that
I had to let go of. I know that they cut it from an NC17 to an R. I know
that my favorite line in the movie is no longer in the movie. They changed
the music. That was one of my biggest disappointments.
"But I am so not complaining. I am so grateful to have made my movie.
I glow whenever anyone says, 'I saw your movie at Blockbuster. My daughter
loves it.' Of course I'm ecstatic. Somebody enjoys it and got something
out of it. A lot of people really do get the message that I was trying
to convey. That girls can't be boys. Women can't f--- like men and I don't
think they have to. A lot of times, women in a men's world feel that they
have to become a man. I'm saying there's an alternative in that route.
There's power in being a woman and in being honest with what you want.
Lisa realizes that she's not such a great person but that's who she is.
And Karen wishes that she had a boyfriend."
Q: "So how did you come to direct for LFP?"
Christina: "I don't want to talk about that."
Gene Ross reports:
Porn Valley - Selena Silver, www.selenasilver.com began what will probably
be a very successful series on www.KSEXradio.com. Silver's interviewing
female porn directors, and Kat Slater was her first guest. Kent Silver
observed that guys are fascinated by women who are directors and in
porn. "We're going to bring the porn listener the best women directors
in porn today," Kent said.
Selena said she has worked with Slater on several occasions [Campus
Confessions 8 & 9; Young Sluts Inc. 14]. "She's just awesome." Slater
directs Campus Confessions and Young Sluts Inc. for Hustler.
According to Kent Silver fans are relaying their wish that Slater would
do scenes. Silver also made reference to the current article in Las
Vegas Weekly on Slater. Kent Silver also pointed out that Slater made
a mainstream movie- The Smokers- for MGM in 1999. Slater explained that
it was about three bad[teenage] girls in boarding school who decide
to f--- men the way they've been f---ed. "So they decide to rape at
gun point." Slater joked that it probably was her start for Barely Legal.
Slater worked 8 years to get that movie done, she said. "Three years,
26 movies [in porn] 8 years, 1 movie." Out of college, Slater moved
to L.A. and started writing the film. "Between odd jobs to support myself
and re-writing the script- I was a night receptionist so when my boss
wasn't around, I was writing my script." Slater lost count as to the
number of people she pitched her film to.
Silver didn't know how many porn directors have had mainstream movies.
[Anthony Spinelli directed One Potato, Two Potato before going into
porn.] On the other hand, Slater said she's heard of porn directors
who have had success on the other end after-the-fact. [Greg Dark and
Mike Sedan come immediately to mind.]
After Slater did the movie she went to her parents house in Wisconsin
and along the route stopped in Vegas to see an old friend from college,
Richard Abowitz.
"He saw my movie and he was writing an article for the Las Vegas Weekly
on the porn industry in Vegas." Slater said they were chatting with
Caroline Pierce, a porn star. For the most part Slater said she was
checking to make sure that her friend wasn't getting any diseases.
"In fact I ended up interviewing this chick and liking her so much.
She was a normal, cool woman."
Abowitz started putting the notion in Slater's ahead about directing
porn. "It was another 1700 miles for me to think about it," she said.
Slater said now she gets lots of input from people who seem to have
great insight about what will work for her.
Asked if she was twisted growing up or had porn inclinations, Slater
said it was a natural thing for her parents.
"We all have sex. We're all here because someone had sex along the
way. My mother likes to look at it as, 'it's a good thing you're doing
that for all those couples out there that need some help. I was raised
open minded. Relax, it's just sex."
Slater looked at the whole process as just making another movie. Slater
recalled shooting her first Barely Legal vignette. "The girl came- I
was told they would have to have their PCR-DNA test from AIM and their
IDs. Well the girl comes. She shows up to my house the night before.
We're going to shoot on a Sunday- when AIM is closed. The girl didn't
bring her test. I made her sit in front of a video camera and made her
sign a statement that said I do not have AIDs."
Slater laughed about how she now makes all her boyfriends go to AIM
to get tests. Slater said she hears the comments all the time about
drugs and diseases. "Is everyone on drugs? Well, How many people are
on drugs in YOUR business? It's probably going to be the same number."
Slater said the porn business is a fun business and she loves it.
Kent asked Slater if on her 1700 mile road trip she started picturing
her first porn movie and where did her name come from. Slater said she's
not a cat person. "I like dogs." But her friend Abowitz has numerous
cats.
"But I liked this one cat and bonded with the cat. This particular
cat was in heat and I decided along my road trip that Cat in Heat was
going to be the name of my first porn movie."
Slater was picturing a Gone With the Wind now realizing that porn was
predicated on the series. Slater said her first credited name in Barely
Legal was Snowy Rivers on the assumption if she was going with cheese
it would be cheese all the way. "I was saving Kat Slater for Cat in
Heat."
Slater thought with a mainstream credit she'd be automatically accepted
by the porn community. "The irony is I go and my first place is VCA.
I knock on their door and they essentially tell me come back when you're
directing porn." Slater thought about finding investors knowing full
well she didn't know what she was doing. "Maybe I should go work for
a company."
A friend of Slater's then introduced her to Jimmy Flynt. Jr.
"In that meeting they basically said the same thing, come back when
you've directed a porn. I said I'm not coming back."
Slater showed them the trailer to her movie. "They liked it- it was
hot chicks. They said why don't you go do a Barely Legal vignette."
Adult Entertainment Expo Opening Panel
Thursday morning, January 6. Phil Harvey, owner of Adam & Eve, reads
his speech, looking down at his paper most of the time. He's not compelling.
He rants against anti-sex nuts (Wicked owner Steve Orenstein, standing
next to me, must wonder if Phil is talking about me, because there is
nobody more opposed to masturbation and dirty pictures than me) as though
anyone who is opposed to pornography and masturbation is anti-sex. Perhaps
they believe in the real thing rather than the commercializing of substitutes.
There are about 150 people in the room but there might as well be just
Orenstein and I, we are that close. Two hearts that beat as one. Ebony
and Ivory. Oh, if only Joy King (head of sales for Wicked) hadn't come
between us, what what wild ecstasy could be ours.
Phil attacks opponents of masturbation and immediately equates that with
being anti-sex. He distorts the arguments of people opposed to pornography.
He plays to the crowd with cheap-shots against those against the the making
public of the most sacred act.
I wonder what Phil Harvey's position would be if somebody on stage with
him sat up and defecated on his chair as their constitutionally protected
act of free expression to protest strict moralizing by free smearing.
Phil says that all federal obscenity prosecutions under Bush have been
for bad stuff. He must lump Extreme Associates' five movies as "bad
stuff."
Paul Markham Profile
David Hoffman writes from Prague:
Paul Markham's studio is in the kind of building you might
think twice about entering if you were a 19 year-old girl seeking to get
laid. It has that sort of slightly seedy, not all that welcoming industrial
feeling that wouldn't be all that dissimilar to an industrial district
in San Fernando.
But once you make your way past the labryinth of bare, nondescript
hallways and enter a plain white, unmarked door, you are made to feel
instantly welcome by Markham and his charming and absolutely knock-out
pretty office manager - a young blonde who makes me tea with milk, the
British way and a sandwich. There are three or four partioned rooms
with slightly-tacky bedroom sets, photographer's lights scattered about,
and a large office with half-a-dozen computer stations and several young
web designers whacking (uh, that is, typing) away. It seems very industrious
and business-like, but in a relaxed sort of way.
Markham has a beautiful young blonde wife named Eva (a wannabe porn
model whom he met on a casting) who was quite charming, and a small
child of their own. They live comofortably in Brno, a nondescript working-class
town comparible in character to Cincinatti or Baltimore.
"I'm a pornographer and I'm proud of it," intones Markham. "There are
a lot of people who think they're pornographers."
We talk about the difference between Czech and Hungarian girls. "I
find Hungarian girls to be a bit mercenary;" says Markham. "You ask
a Czech girl to do it with a smile. You pay a Hungarian - generally."
(Author's note: I spent six months living in Pecs in southern Hungary,
and spent a time in Budapest. Hungary was like a non-stop fashion show
- the women are knock-outs! I have never seen more beautiful women in
one place at one time! I would consider the Czech Republic the runner-up.
No wonder Private spends so much time shooting in Budapest.)
Markham on LA girls: "If I had to deal with girls in LA, I'd probably
kill one of them." Showing up late, negotiating high rates, "here they
show up early."
On Attorney General John Ashcroft: "If Ashcroft thought it would lose
him ten votes, he'd change his mind. American pornographers are a bunch
of f---ing pussies. If they were to get together and say, 'Ashcroft
is bad for our business and your freedom, like Larry Flint does, Ashcroft
would sit back and go 'what the f---, maybe the religious right are
worth half a million votes and these people - the pornos - are worth
a million votes. Maybe I should keep my mouth shut.' The thing is, the
religious right are organized. And I actually admire them. They are
organized, and they get their message across. They are a tiny minority,
but they are very organized and powerful. And they sweep us away."
Regarding Ashcroft going after pornos: "Well of course, he bloody well
should. Those guys are producing illegal content. End of story. There
is a law, and they went across it.. The fact that he's a pornographer
makes it right? No.
"They have a TV program here - a weather program - where a naked girl
walks on, in front of a mock window, and she dresses in the clothing
suitable, for tomorrow's weather. This is the weather program at 10
o'clock." (confirmed by the author!)
"We've had girls here who were paranoid they were going to end up in
magazines published here. We see her three, four, five months down the
line, stripping on national TV, sicking a vibrator inside of her, for
everything to see." (unconfirmed by the author)
"It's an open society. They're not particularly scared or frightened
of pornography."
Markham pays around $250-300, which is often just slightly less than
the monthly wage in the Czech Republic. "Some of these girls (in Brno,
Czech Republic's second-largest city) don't earn that in two months.
(Markham talks about foriegn companies now streaming into Prague due
to the hassles at home, eg: Ashcroft): There are people here (Private,
Pierre Woodman, Gary Fontello [sp?], Wicked, All Scan) paying girls
$1,000 a scene."
Gangbangs: "The girls quite like them. So long as the girl isn't being
knocked around and abused. Most women's fantasy is to be f---ed by two
or three guys. You put a girl in the middle of five horny guys who are
going to f--- her for fun, and f--- her nicely, she's done died and
went to heaven! And you're going to pay her $300. Hell, they've got
no problem with it - absoultely no problem! But if you start to hurt
her, then you run the risk that she'll get up and walk out."
"There's two reason for Extreme's pornography (the Los Angeles company)
being produced. One: lack of talent. Max Hardcore (for example) couldn't
sell a f---ing normal film. It's like me getting in front of a camera
(Markham is over 50 with while hair). Hello... we're past it. End of
story.
"So it's lack of talent - the man has got very little talent. Ed Powers
is the same age, and he can sell, because he's got talent. POV, amaetur,
the photographer getting a B.J., the photographer getting f---ed, is
a very old genre. It was started many, many years ago by a guy on the
streets of New York who used to have a whole frigging camera strapped
onto him. And he'd take a girl around the back and f--- her up against
the wall or get a blow job. It was then moved on by Buttman - John Stagliano.
It was then moved on further by Bend-Over - Lindsey Honey [sp?], an
English guy, who brought into it that cockney humor. You've got people
like Ed Powers doing it, who's basically like 'come to my studio or
come to my house and I'm going to f--- you.'"
Regarding Max Hardcore: "I met him. And within five minutes I thought,
'you are a creep. You are f---ing creepy, mate,' and that he thought
nothing of girls.... He'll probably end up in prison. Because the police
don't just walk away from a guy like that."
(Interestingly, at the Free Speech Coalition last year, the members
applauded enthusiastically when Max Hardcore's name was mentioned; this
author attended - hell, the food was free!)
Markham says, emotionally, "The reason we have to have the Free Speech
Coalition, is because of guys like him (Hardcore: real name Steiner
and several others... hmmm). If we didn't have guys like him, we wouldn't
have to f---ing protect ourselves. He's the chink in our armour - guys
like him."
Carly Milne's Split From Pure Play
Devan writes on Hardcoregossip.com:
PPM receive more press from me due to her but that they received protection
from things like the Private USA scandal and my thoughts on Seymore's
stance during the HIV crisis and a far more delicate handling of the
'Anais quits porn to be a hooker' story...
Good luck to Carly who can now be reached through http://www.sinspin.com
and who is currently taking a much needed break to finish her book for
which she already has a signed deal. I would quit all of my jobs right
now for a signed book deal.

Tod Hunter's Fearless Predictions For Fishbein's KSEX
Appearance
Tod writes about his former boss
at AVN:
This is easy. Among the things Paul Fishbein is sure to say:
"The AVN Expo was a big success."
"$45 is not too much to pay when you consider what the fans are getting."
"No, she isn't. She's retired."
"The awards were a big success."
"We're looking at all the possibilities. We had a good Internext show
at Mandalay Bay, we may go there next year."
"I don't want to take that call."
I'll be sitting at my computer and I suggest you do the same.

Jill
Kelly Productions and Bizarre Video Part Ways
LOS ANGELES - Jill Kelly Productions and Bizarre Video have parted
ways, ending a relationship that began in June of last year.
I wonder what Bizarre owner Keith Gordon will do. He moved from New York
and bought a house here.
Las Vegas Roundup
* I speak to Tony, the secretive owner of XBangcash. He's a Japanese-looking
guy about 50. His company, in one form or another, has been around since
1997. He didn't want to give me an interview and shuttled me off to Quentin
Boyle, the marketing director. Nobody wants to talk about Tony's background
or where the company gets its money. I hear they've spent $400,000 at
the show with a booth etc...
* Devan was hanging out with Roy G-rcia and Lensman Tuesday night, January
4. Devan said adultbeat.com was
a good site. Lensman agreed.
* Wednesday, January 5. Carmen Luvana and Terri Summers at the Adam &
Eve booth are exhausted, jetlagged and sick.
* Regina Lynn from Wired magazine is walking around the Internext. She
can't get any quotes on new porn technology. She says that maybe she will
write an article on how technology has stopped.
* Dull show. No giant giveaways. No big prizes. No hummers.
* IBill people wander around, largely incognito. Their company owes webmasters
millions of dollars. IBill appears finished.
* Alec Helmy wanders around the show
with his fiance.
* Tuesday night, January 4, Kevin Blatt almost got into a fight with
Rick Latona (Dollars.com) at the Jungle
Bash.
* Kevin says he is one of the few porners not hungover Wednesday. He
tells Scott, the traffic dude, that his life is nothing but sunshine,
money and pussy.
* I have a brief chat with Laurie
Holmes. She sued me four years ago. She's now the sales manager for
Hollywood Video. She goes on KSEX with Seka.
* AVN's
report on Dave Koenig's XTV.
* I chat with Alexis Amore. She left JKP last February. She's worked
for Vivid and Wicked since. She appeared in five films last year. She
shot her first interactive DVD, directed by Taylor
Wane (in Spanish and in English). She directed for Anabolic. She believes
she has another contract coming her way.
* A little guy accidentally kicks my foot on the way by and apologizes.
It is Scott Tucker, who owns Topco Sales.
* I tell Ron Jeremy how much I enjoyed the movie The
Boondock Saints. He says he will be coming back in the sequel. He
says the original was Blockbuster's best-renting straight-to-video movie.
* I walk up to Jonathan Silverstein while he's talking to John Bennett
(CEN). Jonathan puts his hand on me chest and says, "Excuse me, Luke.
Seriously." I walk off. There's about a ten-inch height different
between Jonathan and John.
* I hear JoeE wants to sell off all his adult holdings and that his employees
are leaving one-by-one.
* New Adult.com employee RRRed raves to me about the looks of the new
young president of Playboy, Randy Nicolau.
* Tony Dennis, Senior Analyst, Juniper Research, gave the keynote address
about the Mobile porn market. The crowd is sparse and deservedly so, because
Tony is a terrible speaker. It is hard to hear him.
Last year we had cool parties thrown by SMS companies. No such parties
this year.
* The experts panel closes out the day of panels. Tom Hymes moderates
a 30-minute discussion with Joe Lensman (Adult.com), Chris Mallick (Epoch),
Aly (AVN), Scott Rabinowitz (traffic dude), Greg Clayman.
Tom to Lens: "Joe Lensman, is that how you want to be known?"
Joe shrugs. I detect a look of annoyance crossing his face.
I hear people saying that Lensman sounds more like Ron Levi every day.
Impressionists of the panelists: Lensman = cerebral, blunt. Mallick =
stocky, blunt. Scott = spiky hair. Nobody could understand what he was
saying. Greg Clayman = obsessed with talking about ethics. Aly = perky.
I wouldn't mind dating her if she was into guys.
She repeatedly runs her fingers through her hair during the panel discussion.
She looks solemn unless she's speaking. Then she lights up. She's a chatterbox.
Tom Hymes is an experienced stage actor and he exudes strength and enthusiasm.
A big porner tells me: "I was in Tom's office. I didn't think his
staff treated him respectfully."
Lensman hosts a high-stakes poker game later in the evening.
Everything the panelists say I've heard before. I have to reach for material.
None of the panelists have gray hair. They must dye. All are clean-cut
business types.
Tom enthuses about Dave Koenig's XTV. Lensman is not as enthusiastic.
Tom Hymes writes: "If I seemed to be extolling the virtues of the
actual Koenig set-top box, that was not my intention, as it would be an
intolerable sin for a moderator to do such a thing. What I was and am
enthusiatic about is that and any new technology that augurs evolutionary
change, and a set-top box that provides every type of digital media download
fits the bill. It could very well be that every satellite and cable company
builds their own version, and that one simply uses the set-top box of
the company one contracts with, eliminating the need to purchase one's
own. I don't know; the market will sort that out. But whatever the future
holds, Koenig and company are certainly out of the gate with their product,
and why not be impressed with their speed, vision and determination?"
Lens says: "Our industry is a series of unconnected individuals.
It's like herding cats. Cover your own ass."
Lensman's Pureplay booth at the AEE (Adult Entertainment Expo) is a big
leap forward in sophistication and offerings from last year's debut. AEE
boasts more technological improvements from last year than does Internext.
* Almost all the major porn players have incorporated offshore for lower
taxes, protection against civil claims, and reduced likelihood for obscenity
prosecution. A federal prosecution manual instructs its guys to concentrate
on porners based and hosted in America.
Larry
Walters arranges these off-shore incorporations. LawrenceWalters.com.
He specializes in porn and gambling clients. He's a partner of Clyde DeWitt.
* Wednesday, 11pm. XBiz awards. A girl is passed out on the floor. She
claims she's not been drinking or doing drugs and is not diabetic. EMTs
rush to her side.
Anyone know this girl's name and what her problem was? Email Luke.
* Jim Holio opens up the awards wearing sunglasses. This strikes many
people as pretentious.
* I spot Lori Zaitz. She was fired a few ago from XBiz as marketing director
and she's launched her own porn marketing company.
* Lensman introduces one of the prize-winneres. He gives the longest
introduction and cracks several jokes, which fall flat. Most of the crowd
spend most of the night ignoring the presenters and talking amongst themselves.
* Mike from SilverCash says people keep asking him why he does big booths
at shows. He says that if he didn't, people would wonder if he were going
out of business.
* Thursday. 1am. I walk out of the XBiz Awards with Kevin Blatt, Evan
Horowitz and Michael Landau (owners of Xpays), and Kevin Blatt's cousin
Adam. Evan yells that Gary Kremen is an asshole. He uses more colorful
language. He yells that Gary should do more crystal meth. He tosses around
the f-word. Michael tries to calm him down to no good effect.
KB stays quiet.
Evan exchanges graphic descriptions of different vaginal shapes with
Adam while we wait for the tram from Mandalay Bay to the Luxor.
"I'm a child of divorce," says Evan.
Adam laughs about KB banging Girly and that she supposedly has no teeth.
KB looks abashed.
* I sit with a white Southern porn star in a bar. She says she would
never have sex with a black guy on camera because her family would disown
her.
* A veteran shooter on the video side went to Internext for the first
time to learn about the new technology. After two days of walking around,
he says there isn't any.
I Hate You
Chaim writes: "That's the title I suggest for your new book, a compendium
of hate messages that you and others have received. Hate mail, email,
death threats by phone. And the best thing is that you wouldn't have to
do any writing to put it all together. Your enemies would be enriching
you with their hate."
Paul Fishbein On KSEX Tonight
PORN VALLEY - In a rare public appearance, AVN Publisher, Paul Fishbein
will stop by the KSEX studios
tonight as a guest of Cytherea.
The show, led by Cytherea and Co-hosted by Plus One and Harry Weiss,
airs every Thursday at 5:00pm (PST) and can be heard for free. Members
of KSEXradio.com and Camz.com can also watch the broadcast on the in-studio
webcams.
Fishbein will be making the appearance to congratulate Cytherea as
AVN's 2005 Best New Starlet and to speak on various other issues regarding
the recent Las Vegas convention, AVN's strong presence and influence
in the adult community as well as many "Then and Now" comparisons in
porn history.
Fans can interact in the free chat room as well as by telephone at
1-800-KSEXradio.
AVN.com
reports:
This is the fist time Fishbein will appear on KSEX. Fishbein said he
agreed to appear to repay a favor to AVN's 2005 Best New Starlet.
"When Cytherea and Teagan Presley went on Howard Stern with me in December,
I promised Cytherea I'd return the favor. Since she won Best New Starlet,
I thought I'd go and talk about the awards show," Fishbein said.
The KSEX studios are closed to the press tonight at Fishbein's request.
I don't remember the last time he gave an industry interview (except for
Hot Video magazine, which is in French). He's
never commented publicly on Gene Ross's departure from AVN in September
of 2000, which has to be the most shocking personnel shift in the
history of the company.
Gene now writes Adultfyi.com. He's
not Paul's biggest fan. Nor is ex-AVN writer Tod
Hunter.
I've had two sit-down interviews with Paul in my career -- May 1996 and
December 1998.
Paul gives a great interview. He's about the most convincing guy you
can talk to.
Bizarre Video
Heinrich writes on RAME: "I have been disappointed by all of their
movies. While the covers look great, and the themes are enticing, there
is nothing in their movies except very soft-core play."
Ruby Update
Ruby writes:
I just thought I'd let you know about my happy ending. I got married
to the man of my dreams on August 20th in Reno of all places! Funny
how things work out, me a happily monogamous army wife, so let that
renew your faith, if it can happen for me it can happen for anyone!
I will be hitting the feature circut pretty hard while my husband is
deployed. Glad to see you started a new site, I need somebody to keep
me updated, me being out of the loop and all. I'll be at the ED expo
this year. I'm truly a domestic goddess now, and happier than I've ever
been. I hope everyone doesn't forget me, because my years in porn were
for the most part wonderful, I might even produce something one of these
days.
Defamer
Party
I snag a ten-minute conversation with the drop-dead gorgeous KABC talkshow
host Kim Serafin. A noted writer comes over to whisk her away. I badger
him about his career path. He says that when he sets his mind to something,
he always accomplishes his goal. But he's very slow at it.
I get a leer on my face and turn to Kim: "Some women like that."
They leave.
Las Vegas Report
* Daron Babin runs webmasterradio.fm
and YNOTradio.com. "We're
posturing ourselves for an acquisition," he tells me.
I remember Eyada.com, which flopped. "The problem with them,"
says Daron, "is that they were trying to broadcast to the masses.
F--- the masses. Let somebody else go lose their money. It's all b-to-b
(business to business). The next channel will be travel. If you're a travel
agent, if you work for the airlines, rent cars, whatever... We're already
in talks with the American real estate association. They want their own
channel. We're creating vertical-market radio over the Internet that we
can push to satellite."
* Microsoft Search and Google Adwords had reps at the show.
* Younger webmasters wanted the Internext convention out of the Venetian
and into Mandalay Bay. The older crew were happy to stay at the Venetian.
I hear the AVN Expo will move from the Sands, possibly to Mandalay Bay,
next year.
Three Days Of The
Players Ball
D-Money writes
on GFY:
Well, seeing how people are competing more and more for the night time
parties and the day time stuff seems a bit flat lately, we're seriously
thinking about doing a 3 day festival in the afternoon of Players Ball.
Probably from 1:00 pm until 8:00 pm every day. We're looking into doing
a Best Of The Players Ball. One day you might see Snoop Dogg with others,
another day Cypress Hill and Xzibit, Doug E Fresh and Slick Rick, another
day for rock, Ludacris, etc. We'll have a walk of sponsors, so people
can see their stuff and pick up literature.
It's my belief that this industry has gone through many changes, including
the trade shows are dwindling, which means there must be another option.
We've had the most support ever by the webmaster community this year
and hope to build another type of community for next year for better
networking opportunities mixed with a fun atmosphere. Plus doing these
events in the day time will help eliminate the security issues we face
throwing these at night time.
So if you're interested in learning more about this, hit me up at darren
at marketingfirm .com It's time to step things up to the next level.
A new way to network.
Darren Blatt is married to Jennifer
Rosenblatt, who was AVN's highest paid employee and advertising manager
until getting fired almost a year ago. She's filed suit against AVN.
The
Jill Kelly Poems
By Alessandra Porco
Adult-film diva Jill Kelly, in all her splendid forms (performer, producer,
writer, and director), serves as the ultimate 21st century icon in Alessandro
Porco's The Jill Kelly Poems.
This debut collection presents a poetry of surfaces that, at once,
cherishes its Bacchus-like existence and comes to terms with its very
impossibility through intelligent, irreverent, and formally sophisticated
poems: an ode to Christina Aguilera; a love-sonnet for Rambo; and an
epitaph in memory of Sharon Tate.
Porco's climactic sequence dramatizes, in gonzo fashion, the union
of language and forms of poetry - a consummation that erupts from the
page, leaving readers feeling a little bit dirrty (that's right, with
two r's) but, undeniably, wanting more. Ample double entendres and sexual
punning; lewd bar-room balladeering; comic revisionist histories that
expound, for example, on the origins of the thong; libidinal utopias
filled with D-cup superheroes and militant villains - it's all in the
name of good ol' fashioned silicone fun!

Mike South Doesn't Shoot Jayna
Mike
South, Jayna Mike
South, Jayna
Mike writes on MikeSouth.com:
We didn't shoot her at all. There are several reasons why not the first
being she isn't terribly photogenic as you noticed, the second being
she didn't seem to be doing it for the right reasons and she is lets
just say not mensa material, so I personally said forget it lets just
have some fun and kick back here at the house and that was the end of
it. She seemed embarrassed because she locked herself in her room and
wouldn't come out even though we all invited her to. I knew then that
I had made the right decision.
On closer examination it would have been a foolish thing to do as my
lawyer pointed out when he and I met yesterday. For one she isn't an
American Citizen and she doesn't have a green card, so an ID and a photo
release stating what she was paid would be prima facia evidence in a
case against me for hiring illegal immigrants, for another her ticket
was paid for by someone other than herself (Ra Media) which potentially
runs afoul of The Mann Act and finally she wasn't tested, which wasn't
a huge deal because it was going to be a condom scene anyhow, but stuff
happens for a reason and it turns out it is good we didn't shoot her.
I understand that she got upset and decided she didn't want to stay
in Las Vegas so the Ra Media guys took her to the airport and she left
on Saturday. Which is where the next piece will begin.
Fight Club Peter North-Style
Jack writes: A friend of mine told me this story about a buddy of his
that is in this group that is like the movie Fight Club, but they wrestle
instead of bare knuckle fight.... Anyways, at a recent get together, a
new guy shows up to wrestle... He won't let anyone take his picture and
insists on wearing a mask during his match.... Several guys there immediately
recognize him... Peter North. The guy who wrestled him said that Peter
was sprung the entire match. No one really wanted to wrestle him after
that. Next Show I'm Taking Salt Peter
My conversation with John
Douglas:
Ultra indy: So you got offers when you were out there, huh? You got
some will.
Luke: I take my religion seriously.
Ultra indy: I don't know if I could have been so strong.
Ultra indy: So no more pre-marital for you then? Until the Big Night?
Luke: right, but i carry condoms in case I fall
Ultra indy: So if I see you being tempted, I should get in there and cock
block, just to help you out?
Luke: yes
Ultra indy: You should carry salt peter in case you fail, not condoms.
Luke: why?
Ultra indy: Salt peter is the stuff the military used to add to the military
rations kits that they issued to soldiers during the war. It prevents
erections, thus eliminating any chance of GIs bunking up when buried in
a foxhole together. Wood killer. You should just add it to your meals
each day.
