Katie Morgan Replies To Selena Silver
Katie
Morgan of KSEXradio.com and Nastymodeling.com writes on AdultDVDTalk.com:
First to Selena... DO NOT claim to be a "spokes person" for porn girls.
You speak for no one but your self. The rest of us are quite capable
thanks. You are not defending any one, because no one else decided they
had a problem after the fact. This entire fight is YOUR fault for being
ignorant of the facts. EVERYONE knew that the games were going to VOD,
it was ADVERTISED before it was even shot. Of course the movie companies
have to pay wholesale for the tapes, did they pay for the cameras, the
film, the editing, the duplicating, or ANY other expense that goes into
making a movie? No they didn't. YOU were HIERED by the movie company,
NOT by ksex. Everyone else understood that. Some girls worked for companies
that decided to pay their girls, (mostly for insurance that they would
come) and others did it for free, for fun, and for publicity.
This was NEVER put out to be a "not for profit event", it WAS put out
to be fun, and good for publicity, and FILMED. While I DO believe that
Wankus spoke to you about the games FIRST, you AGREED to work for DVSX,
I was there, I didn't see "team ksex" on your uniform... I had two girls
from my agency playing for different teams, one was paid by the company
she played for, and the other was not. BOTH had a great time, and BOTH
are happy with the out come. As for you're getting fired... DUH! I can't
imagine how that happened.... If you work for ANY company, and you sit
there writing pissed off emails to your boss about something that is
YOUR OWN FAULT for WEEKS, I should HOPE that you would get fired. I
can't BELIVE it took this long!
You know Selena, it's a DAMN good thing you found porn, because with
your attitude, you could NEVER hold a mainstream job. You were NOT wronged,
you were ignorant, and that's no ones fault but your own. I REALLY don't
appreciate your implication that you "don't even know if you'll get
paid for your shows".
Once AGAIN I must point out your ignorance, because had you been sending
in your invoice at the end of your pay period, you would have ALREADY
been paid. This is another thing that you have to do in the real world.
See on set the nice man HANDS you your paper work, and does all the
filing for you. :) Isn't he nice? But Ksex is a REAL job, and you have
to turn in a timecard... Say it with me TIMECARD, wasn't that fun. You
have been UNBELIVABLY RUDE, and all you've proved to everyone (AGAIN)
is that silly porn girls get confused. That is WHY you shouldn't speak
for others... YOU HAVE NO IDEA WHAT YOU'RE TALKING ABOUT.
To Every one else... I have worked at Ksex for LONGER that Selena has
been in the industry. I have been female talent for four years, and
I have been managing girls with Nasty Modeling for almost two years.
As someone who DOES know better that Selena, let me say, Ksex is a GREAT
company to work for. They DO help with publicity, sorry Chico, but they
do. They are VERY FAIR HONEST AND FUN, but it is a REAL job. There are
some GREAT shows to listen to and there are ALOT if BIG name stars to
watch. So I would HOPE that you can all chalk this up to a misunderstanding,
by someone who has blow it WAY out of proportion. Ksex is great, the
games were fun, and all it takes is one mouth attached to an angry confused
person to start a fight about nothing. Sorry if I was rude, but this
is MY ksex family she's slaming, and MY girls she's speaking for. That
is SOOOOOO not cool.
Chico Wanker Wang writes:
Katie, out of curiosity, how does KSEX help with promotions? Do girls
who go on KSEX get more work than those who do not? Do they get higher
rates because of an appearance on KSEX? Does it suddenly create a higher
demand for them (which is what promotions are all about?)? Does it create
monumental amounts of traffic to their websites?
The answer to all these are no, no, no, no. A hot girl is a hot girl.
Once people shoot them and word travels within the industry fast, they
are hired repeatedly. If a girl looks like a bloated gopher with buck
teeth and zits all over her ass, no amount of KSEX appearances will
help at all.
Quasarman writes:
I co-hosted a show with Gauge on KSEX for over a year. Only recently
did I have to resign because I simply didn't have the time anymore to
commit to doing a weekly show. I had never put in an invoice for payment
for any of the shows I participated in because I was doing the show
for fun, not money. Immediatley upon my leaving the station Wankus presented
me with a check for every single show I had done to the penny. This
is money I viewed as irrelevant and I never would have asked for it.
In my opinion that makes him a stand-up guy.
As far as the KSEX games are concerned, I co-hosted the event with
Ginger Lynn and we both had a blast. Truthfully I would have done it
for free even though I was paid a nominal fee. My main objectives were
to drink, crack jokes and show some love to AdultDVDEmpire by being
a part of the event. Indeed, all of the companies involved got to see
their names and logos in multiple press releases on multiple web sites
and most importantly, on the home page of AdultDVDEmpire in the weeks
leading up to and after the event. Everyone involved knew that this
was going to be a downloadable event FOR PROFIT. Hell, I even paid the
$7.95 to watch the goddamned thing!. I guess I'm just a sucker.
As far as making a DVD of the event and selling it FOR PROFIT I say
"Who f@#$ing cares". Does anyone really believe that this title will
be in direct competition with the next volume of "One in the Pink, One
in the Stink"? Not by a long shot. If Wankus shot a bonafide porn flick
featuring many of the hallmarks of porn valley's top companies and didn't
pay the girls because of the alleged "promotion" they'd be receiving
he'd be a complete asshole and anyone who participated in such a project
would be an idiot. The one time that Wankus DID make such a movie (Sexual
Frequency I believe is the title) he DID pay everyone involved their
rate without argument.
If the KSEX games are released on DVD and it becomes a hit (in porn
that generally means somewhere in the vicinity of 2500 pieces) should
Wankus then disperse the profits amongst everyone who participated?
The return on your average porn flick is about enough to pay your employees
and make another movie. How much do you think everyone would get? Something
that perhaps has not been thought of by any of the parties involved
is that a DVD of the KSEX games could potentially be sold by "legitimate"
retailers such as Fry's and Tower Records due to it's innocuous, non-explicit
content. This means that there's a potential for Joe Schmoe to pick
up a copy of the DVD along with a Dust Buster and a Tim McGraw CD, take
it home and suddenly know who Red Light District and DVSX are.
If Wankus sells this thing to HBO for a million bucks I'll be the
first one looking for a royalty check but let's look at the reality
of the situation. Some good companies got some free publicity and everyone
involved had a good time. If Wankus makes a few bucks, I won't be losing
sleep over it. and besides..... I signed a release!
As far as exploitation of the girls in the biz I have only this to
say .... you can pay a girl a thousand bucks to have 50 sex offenders
cum all over her for a Bukkake video, you can pay a girl a few hundred
bucks to be endangered and humiliated on Meatholes.com, or you can pay
a girl cab fare to gargle the urine of someone like Max Hardcore. I
suppose because they got paid SOMETHING that this isn't exploitation.
Some will say that these girls new what they were getting into and agreed
on the price. Let's look at the KSEX games... no random semen in mass
quantities, no double anal from homeless men and no urine to digest
AND everyone agreed to do it for free.
I guess the moral is that it's okay to sell your soul in humiliating
circumstances as long as the money goes into YOUR pocket but it's "exploitation"
to have an afternoon of fun and games and promotion with a "potential"
profit going into someone else's.
Above all else is the irrelevancy of whether ot not KSEX provides genuine
"promotion" to the girls in the biz. I know that I've personally hired
3 girls who were guests on my show and several other girls who were
guest on others. Does that equate to "Howard Stern" caliber exposure?
Absolutely not, but it gave a few girls some duckets in their pockets.
Hell, the first time I heard the name "Selena Silver" was because of
reading a recap of a KSEX show.
I have no idea about the listenership of KSEX but no one is forced
to host shows, no one is forced to participate in events, no one is
forced to do a f-cking thing!!! so why not let the chips fall where
they may. KSEX will either grow and prosper or it will wither and fold.
Only time will tell. In the meantime, R E L A X.
Selena I think you're great and you're a tremendous performer but I've
been in this industry long enough to know that your husband wrote the
initial diatribe in this thread and that he's the one who's truly pissed
because he feels that he missed an opportunity to make even more money
off of you.
Porn star Cytherea writes:
I was a late edition to the KSEX games. I was part of the Wicked team.
I was told from the very beginning that I would NOT be paid for my participation.
All of my dealings and preparation for this event took place between
myself and Wicked. I had no dealings with KSEX. I was also aware that
the events were going to be edited and possibly released. I looked at
this event as I look at all KSEX events. Good promotions for me.
I believe that KSEX has always been a good avenue for me to promote
myself. Lets be real, we all get good press and have a hell of a lot
of fun. That is why we all keep coming back and showing up. I certainly
dont need the $20.
Why dont I see the same amount of outrage directed to AVN. Every year
they sell thousands of copies of their footage from the AVN AWARDS show
in Vegas. I dont believe that anyone is paid and they clearly profit
from our bodies and work.
As you know, I stay out of everyones business but when you call for
a boycott of KSEX, you are taking eyeballs off of my show and therefore
affecting my career. I have always heard that you were one of the more
intelligent couples in all of porn. For you to claim now that "I didnt
know, I wasnt told, I was lied to, I didnt understand, etc, etc, etc."
seems a bit unbelievable. Sounds like sour grapes to me.
I have problems with Wankus and I am sure that he has more than one
problem with me. But he and I handle our problems where they should
be handled IN PRIVATE. This is not an appropriate forum.
Renee Pornero writes:
I participated in the KSexGames and I loved it (even though my team
lost because I sucked..haha!) I knew that it's for promotion only and
I knew as well that they will release a DVD and stuff. I participated
because it was DVSX who asked me and I just love them! Besides that
I don't have any problem with not getting paid when it's supposed to
be a promotional thing. I go on KSex Radio for the same reason. Just
for promotion. And Chico, when I promote myself, I don't do it to get
more jobs or higher rates, I do it for my fans and to get more popular,
so people buy more videos. And I think it's ok that they - in this case
KSex - make money out of it since they have a lot of work with it. The
only thing I think is unfair that some people get paid and others don't.
Well, in this case I was just in the wrong team I guess! No offense,
DVSX.
Quasarman writes:
Cytherea's magic vagina damaged my camera. Should I create a post about
how I didn't expect her to shoot God-knows-what out of her cooze without
providing me with an underwater camera housing and thus she now owes
me $800.00 dollars for a new XL1 lens? Nah, it's called "the cost of
doing business" and the scene she gave me was worth the damaged lens.
The scene Selena Silver gave me in the lastest "Blow Me Sandwich"
was worth the extra thousand dollars we paid her. Maybe the promotional
value of the KSEX games was worth the 4 hours out of Selena's life to
be "exploited" for the profit of others.
Chico Wang writes:
Rene, the whole purpose of self-promotion is to get more jobs and
higher rates by trying to increase fanbase thereby creating demand.
Otherwise, I don't understand the purpose of self-promotion. There are
alot of pornstars that do porn videos in order to create awareness and
higher demand in the escort and strip circuit. It's all part of the
game. I don't begrudge KSEX. I know nothing of them. I've had several
girls tell me they were going there, free of charge, to promote their
websites. I let them know if that's the sole purpose of going on KSEX,
it was an absolute waste of time. However, if people go there for fun
and sh-ts and giggles, be my guest. But from a promotion perspective,
it is nearly negligable. This is not directed against KSEX. It is a
point of view unless someone will show me how well it helps 'promotion'.
There are several points I'd like to make:
(1) KSEX is not a non-profit business. Their business model like all
business models are out there to make a buck. There's nothing wrong
with that.
(2) In order to attract some female guests, they have to come on under
the guise of helping girls promote themselves on the show. Often in
the case in most businesses, they have to exaggerate the importance
of this promotion in order to attract these guests.
(3) Selena Silver (or Kent) knew damn well that the above (1) and (2)
were a part of the deal before this Olympics event or whatever it was.
(4) I consider KSEX to be more of a party for the girls and guys involved
where they have fun while f-cking around during the show. This is based
on articles I have glanced at. I have never listened to the show nor
watched it.
(5) What's the point of airing any of this stuff publicly if everyone
and his rat-faced granny in the industry knows KSEX is out to make a
buck?
Wankus from KSEX writes:
The official KSEX response, as posted on the
KSEX message boards.
When we terminated Kent and Selena's radio show on KSEXradio.com, we
made a choice to move forward in a professional manner by not name calling,
airing dirty laundry and/or publishing any information that could be
viewed as negative for either parties involved. When conflict erupts,
it is always the best policy in any business to start anew and move
on without stooping to a lower level by smearing or attempting to harm
the reputation of anyone involved in the situation.
Even after these horribly incorrect accusations, skewed facts and misquoted
e-mail excerpts have been published, KSEXradio.com, under advice from
our legal team, will not be pushed into a public war of "he said
/ she said". As of now, this public display of unprofessionalism
and false accusations will be handled by the court systems of the State
of California.
As a side note for anyone who didn't read it publicly in the countless
news stories and posts, here is how the KSEXgames was handled.
Fact: AdultDVDempire and KSEXradio.com merged together on a promotion
that they thought would be a great press builder for us and all involved.
It was. While the object of the event was for press and promo we did
agree to split profits should the advertised event make any money.
Fact: KSEX agreed to handle the creative side of the event. Organize
the games, rules, set up, land the venue, provide hosts for play by
play, etc. They did.
Fact: AdultDVDempire agreed to contact the movie companies and ask
them if they would like to participate in an Olympic style event that
will be fun and great press for all involved. An event that would be
used as a camaraderie builder among adult stars and a fun day out of
competition between the movie companies. An event that would be seen
Video on Demand and if good enough, possibly DVD or other venues. AdultDVDempire
asked if they were able to field a team for this event. The five companies
that participated did just that.
Fact: All movie companies were provided with model and injury releases
two weeks before the event. They were told that since this was an on-camera
event that whoever they selected to represent their movie company would
have to sign a release and provide the required 2257 identification.
They did.
Fact: No one who was asked to participate in the event was misled before
or the day of the event. The event details were spelled out in detail
to the movie companies, e-mails, to the Sex-a-letes in a KSEXgames Handbook
and via message boards and adult web news services. Nothing was ever
hidden or scammed. We have documentation to confirm all of this, including
to DVSX who was responsible for booking Selena Silver to appear in this
event.
Fact: Some movie companies paid the girls to be there. Some did not.
KSEX paid their staff that worked in the games. The crew that KSEX was
responsible for to participate.
Fact: Wankus received NO PRODUCERS fee. No fee of any kind.
Fact: Adam & Eve had no connection with this event aside from participating
as a team. If they plan on marketing the DVD when it is released, like
all the other companies, they have that option.
Fact: All the girls will be offered the DVDs to sell for their own
profits as well.
Fact: In the credits of the DVD, all Sex-a-letes were listed by name
and personal URL so fans could find them
Fact: KSEX is receiving multiple emails from talent that participated
for free, asking to be included in the next one. There have also been
emails and phone calls from movie companies and talent that did not
appear, asking to be included in the next one.
Summary: Anyone who participated in this event was informed of every
detail of the event. If they did not want to appear in the promotion
under the circumstances of what they were presented by the movie company
who booked them, they should have told the movie company to not include
them. Had KSEX or anyone involved in this promotion promised payment
and not delivered, then that is a whole different story. People were
involved under their own free will and everyone was in the loop on that.
In Regards to KSEXradio.com
Fact: KSEX is funded by memberships, advertisers and in the past from
a sister company that provides non-ksex content and offers the KSEX
streaming cams as a leasing package as well.
Fact: KSEX does not sell footage or photographs from any of their past
shows to any venue. Never has.
Fact: KSEX is seen in short clips on Blue Kiss TV in scattered countries
in Asia. KSEX receives no monetary compensation for that. It is a trade
agreement with the network in an attempt to receive promotion and recognition
in hopes of increasing audience size.
Fact: All KSEX hosts are paid $20 dollars per hour to host sex talk
radio shows. [Part time radio hosts in broadcast radio market #2, Los
Angeles are paid between $8 and $20 dollars per hour.]
Fact: KSEXradio hosts are also given the KSEX Members Area for their
websites for free. Which means, fans can join the hosts website to view
KSEX, giving them a chance to make the money for themselves.
Fact: KSEXradio gives their hosts free commercial air time on the radio
station. They record a commercial, KSEX plays it for them at no cost
to them.
Fact: Everyone that hosts a show on KSEX is compensated for their participation.
There is not a person who has ever worked as a host who can say that
they haven't been paid, including Selena and Kent who have checks waiting
for them at the office since the time of their termination. A quote
they neglected to include in their termination email from August 18,
2004 says, "We have two checks for you that cover monies due for
all the hours you have worked on KSEX, not including last weeks show.
You can invoice separately for those shows by following the normal procedure
that was explained to you when you came on board with KSEX. Our bookkeeper
cannot find record of your signed W-9 forms so before you receive the
payment, we will need you both to fill the forms out. Harry will have
your checks at the office beginning tomorrow [Thursday] and you may
pick them up between the hours of 10:00am and 4:00pm (PST)."
Fact: The Silvers were called and emailed countless times and asked
to attend a face to face meeting in regards to the termination of their
show. When there was no response, they were terminated by email so that
there was at least a paper trail.
Fact: On rare occasions, industry photographers "Ernie and Gordon"
attended KSEX shows to take pictures for popular adult magazines. They
came to provide coverage of the shows, the stars and the radio station.
A thing they do at many industry events and porn sets not affiliated
with KSEX. We became aware at a later date that they were getting small
submission fees from the magazines that they were sending photos and
text to but we allowed it because we felt the promotion for all parties
involved who would be represented in some of those high end adult magazines
was well worth it. When the Silvers expressed their concerns of being
photographed, we asked them not to return on that show. They didn't.
Further, Selena and Kent were given 60 prints of the shots took on August
1st of this year and offered to them as something they can use on their
site or own self promotion.
Fact: The listening and viewing audience totals for KSEX on any given
day are between three to five thousand listeners at peak times. Our
later shows do drop down considerably because we lose the audience on
the east coast but in general, between the live shows and the few times
they are replayed, as well as all the industry press coverage most of
the shows receive, there is GREAT VALUE in appearing on KSEX.
In Summary: Our hosts are not lied to, our guests are not deceived.
We provide all the facts whenever asked and all the details to hosts
as they sign on to be a part of the team. We have about 40 hosts, many
of them big name stars and most importantly many who have been on the
station for many years. If the things that were falsely stated against
us were true, there would be no loyalty among the KSEX staffers. We
have worked too long and too hard at being fair to talent. We have always
been and always will be.
The Non-Issue "Porn Star Karaoke"
This is the amusing part of the posts.
PSKclub began when Aria, Sun & Konnie of DVSX and I went out for
fun to sing. The next thing we knew, everyone started coming. Because
we were giving the club such great promotion, Seymour who owns the club
agreed to list us as "sponsors" of the event. Our logos were
on a sign at the club and the press listings included that as well.
No money between any companies changed hands. It was "you keep
talking me up and I'll give you the credit."
When I agreed to host the event as a "worker" not a patron,
he agreed to pay me in the form of an open bar tab and $125 DJ fee.
Yes, that is a crime. I should've got more.
Since it became a job and I really didn't have any time to be involved
anymore with all the other things going on, I have since resigned and
haven't been to PSK in over a month.
In Overall Summary: There's no conspiracy theory here. No secrets, lies
or deceit. It's really simple. If people want to participate, they do.
If they don't, they don't. KSEX has been a positive place for the adult
industry. They have begun careers, boomed awareness of adult stars,
given fans a place to interact with stars on a personal level, announced
retirements, broke big news stories and given adult stars and directors
a forum to promote directly to the fans. There are KSEX haters like
there are haters in any business but that does not hinder our goals
to be "The Place" to go to have fun, promote yourself and
be welcomed at any stage of your adult career."
Is there still any doubt? Not if you read the posts from those affiliated
with the games who say they knew full on every detail. Not to mention
the intension of the games were disclosed publicly, weeks before the
event.

Chico Wang writes:
This is a hilarious thread over trivial bullsh-t.
I have to say one thing. I have never met a pornstar like Selena Silver
who is so immersed in self-promotion. She's great although I've always
had the feeling she was actually a 'he'. I shot her once. She was organized,
on time, and very professional. I heard from others that Selena describes
herself as a publicity machine (whatever that means). But I had to tell
her one thing before the shoot. I informed her that I did not want any
'publicity' about the shoot. If I wanted it, I'd do it myself.
The only thing that annoyed me was that her husband had to sit on the
shoot the entire time.
My general rule is that if a girl is going to bring someone to the
shoot, the guy has to sign a model release and dump a load for free.
He also has to get me beer. If these three criteria are not met, you
are out of my set or shooting hoops in my backyard.
You're bringing a complete stranger to my set without my authorization.
Although he didn't bother the set at all and acted professionally, it
was an unwelcome, unnecessary invasion of my set.
I will say that this was the first time a stranger on my set refused
to sign a model release, wouldn't dump a load, didn't get me beer, and
just sat there watching the money train pass by.
This is the only reason I will never hire Selena again. They have their
rules, I have mine. And I'm the only one to hire her from the Anabolic/Diabolic
camp. Funny thing about this whole thing is that 'her' public diatribe
against KSEX has destroyed her credibility she spent years of building.
After all, isn't this a case of "I want my money!" more than anything
else? If the girls were doing a publicity event with nudity (which they
are accustomed to), having fun jumping around in potato sacks, and sucking
on large dildos, what exactly is all this over? $300? $400? $500? This
is pretty pitiful and pathetic from the Silver's camp.

Hollyweird Gossip About Jenna Jameson
Hollyweird Gossip writes:
I love Jenna. She has always been kind to me on the many occasions
I have been in her presence. I even got one of those bobble head dolls.
Yes Jenna is and icon. But after reading through her new book, my impression
of her has changed. Yes, I know Jenna Jameson is the First Lady of Porn,
and she needs to sell books, and nobody dare speak any ill of her-especially
to AVN. But in her new book she forgets to mention some of her more
checkered past- being passed around at a bachelor party and f-cked by
everyone in site while she was in a coked up stupor, they way she changes
peoples names so they cannot sue her for making false statements. Leaving
boyfriends bankrupt because of her out of control spending, trashing
her good "friends" when they have been nothing but supportive of her
and her empire. Yes, this is a real class act.
I guess if people new the real behind the scenes story it would not
even hurt her golden image. Men love tramps. I wonder what will happen
when she is old and not the hot commodity anymore? When she has flapjacks
for tits and her chin implant droops? All she will have is some awards,
a big house, and her paid friends to keep her company. Since she is
now alienating a lot of her real friends. How sad. I wonder if she will
end up like Norma Desmond in Sunset Blvd....ready for her close up living
in a fantasy land. Oh wait- that is the present.

Aug. 27, 2004 - The ads are all over the Web. Between spam cluttering
e-mail boxes and pop-up notices springing up on browsers, all the sex
anyone might desire is just a mouse click away.
"The number of fetish sites on the Web would astonish you," said New
York-based sex therapist Dorothy Hayden. "Women with body hair . bestiality
. it staggers the imagination."
Most of us navigate quickly past the come-ons. But for some who are
enticed to open these cyber doors, one click can ruin their lives.

Sharon Mitchell Leaving AIM?
Gene Ross reports
on Adultfyi.com:
Sharon Mitchell may be leaving AIM as its director. And maybe within
a month, though she's likely to stay on the board of directors. Sources
tell me that Dr. Mitch is going into private practice and is basically
down about the industry- the recent HIV crisis not helping matters any
plus the fact that the state appears to be ready to step in and mandate
condoms. I also hear there was an incident recently where Mitch's boyfriend
walked out of a restaurant when someone recognized her. I also hear
from sources that Mitch hates the fact that there are still nude photos/videos
available of her.
Chico Wang: "I Don't Understand The Fuss'
Chico
(Wanker) Wang writes on AdultDVDTalk.com:
I don't understand what all this fuss is. Of course KSEX is out to
make money. Is this some sort of revelation? And to make money, they
have to pretend they're doing some tremendous public service for the
free girls with this amazing 'promotion' in exchange for a free appearance.
Anybody or any girl who thinks otherwise has to be about as stupid as
a bucket of meal worms.
Here's a little hint for some of the girls out there. KSEX neither
increases your value as a performer or gives you tremendous promotions.
Nothing out there does unless you want to go to mainstream radio or
tv or movies on a regular basis. Nothing. They have about a dozen listeners.
If you think I'm talking out of my ass, here's another thing.
Nothing on l-keford.com will promote you either. Nor AVN. Why? Most
people don't read this crap or listen to it either. Selena, I'm happy
you were spurned but don't act surprised at what you already knew.

Selena Silver: Wankus/KSEX Fired Me On My Birthday
Selena
Silver writes on AdultDVDTalk.com:
I have spent nearly eighteen months in this business building a reputation
- with both industry insiders and porn fans. A reputation as a girl who
is a total professional. I am counting on that reputation now. I KNOW
that people will believe me.
I also believe that even in the porn industry or, as a woman I respect
very much put it - ESPECIALLY in the porn industry you have to be willing
to take a moral stand. No matter what that costs you - if you are involved
in something that is wrong you must be willing to raise your hand up and
say "this is wrong". I did just that - and doing that got me
fired from KSEX.
According to the tersely worded email [that's right, Wankus didn't fire
me face to face or even over the phone - he did it through an email 5
hours and 35 minutes before the show that more effort had gone into than
any show we had ever done was scheduled to begin (we had to cancel 12
guests!)], the firing is due to "creative and business differences".
Wankus Email #1 (August 18, 2004)
I wonder what those differences could be?
I know what those differences are not.
Those differences are not a problem of reliability or work ethic. I know
that I showed up and did a new show every single week for my first 24
weeks in a row- that is a long time in porn valley! Those differences
aren't a problem of my lack of promotion or support of KSEX. Not even
KSEX themselves worked the web as hard as I did to drive listeners to
the station or to join their website. Those differences aren't the ratings
of the show...week in and week out over time the only show that had more
listeners than ours was Wankus' Wednesday night show - the one that followed
ours. And no show had more "unique listeners" (people who only
logged in only to hear our show and didn't listen to another show); in
fact, we had 2-3 times as many unique listeners as any other show).
Wankus Weekly Statistics Emails
Those differences also weren't the quality or direction of the show.
The very day these "differences" began Wankus was trying very
hard to move us to Mondays so he could expand our show to two hours.
Wankus Email #2 (August 3, 2004)
He bragged about our show.
I know by now many of you are confused.
I know what you are thinking... you are thinking if you have had someone
who shows up every single week and puts on high quality shows that pulls
more unique listeners than any other show on your station and tirelessly
promotes joining your membership website... why would you want to get
rid of them? Right?
Well, are you ready? Here is why Wankus and KSEX made that decision. Because,
I dared to say that Wankus and KSEX were wrong.
About what?
I believe that if you want to use the brand name and naked body of
a porn star to make a profit for yourself, you should pay her. Wankus
and KSEX do not. Wankus Email #3 (August 6, 2004)
That is the "creative and business differences" between us.
THE TRUTH ABOUT THE KSEX GAMES
It all began with the filming of the KSEX Games
When Wankus approached me about the KSEX Games and asked me to participate
he told me it was - and I am going to quote - "a family picnic
for fun and promotion". I didn't even know there was any filming
going on at all. This happened to other people as well. There is a very
well-known agent who had girls booked for the event who was shocked to
hear there was filming. He hadn t been told that when his girls were
booked either. According to Javier C., owner along with Alex Ladd of DVSX,
one of the movie companies that participated in the event, he was also
told this was a fun and publicity event. He also had no idea
that Wankus, KSEX, ADE, and Adam & Eve were profiting from the event.
Wankus first got girls (like me) to agree to participate by telling them
it was just for publicity . But, he knew he would have to get them to
sign model releases to be able to sell the footage of their naked bodies
& so &
Next, I was told - by Wankus - that they were going to film it, but only
so they could stream it on KSEX like a KSEX show. I paused for a second
because it was different than what I was told, but I thought... it is
for KSEX...okay. Wankus even went out of his way to tell me there would
be NO DVD made of the event. Maybe if a lot of people watch this one,
next year we can film one and sell it on DVD, he said.
Was that true?
No. It wasn't. Why would he go out of his way to tell me there was no
DVD ?
I think it was because he didn t want anyone to know he was making
a regular for profit porn movie if anyone found out, they would want
to be paid!
I feel bad for AdultDVDEmpire, the KSEX partner in the event they were
very honest in their promotion (unfortunately, which began AFTER the filming
was completed). They said, we are going to charge you to watch this on
the web or we are going to sell you a DVD of it. No games. No bullsh-t.
No bush league "do it for the publicity" crap. Just an honest
- we are making and selling a for-profit adult DVD.
For the record, I am a member of AdultDVDEmpire.com and have purchased
several movies from them (yes, really!). I think the world of them. I
don t have any evidence that they attempted to mislead anyone at all
and I hope that they are not lumped in with KSEX in this indictment. I
also hope when they read how KSEX handled things, they will put some pressure
themselves on KSEX to make things right.
Why was Wankus and KSEX not honest and upfront with female talent before
the filming of the "KSEX Games" movie? Because they didn't have
any money to pay them. So they lied. And, Wankus - who called me friend
- lied to my face so he could use my name and naked body along with
all the other porn stars to put money in his pocket without having to
pay me.
The bottom line? The KSEX Games is just like any other porn movie project.
It is made for profit and available for sale on VOD and soon to be DVD.
According to Wankus, KSEX and ADE are splitting the money from the VOD
and Adam & Eve is handling the distribution of the DVD. Why wouldn
t the girls get paid just like they do when they appear in a Jules Jordan
movie from Evil Angel or an Alex Ladd movie from DVSX?
-----------------------------------------------------------
NOTE: On their own, the movie company PRIVATE did pay all of their 7 girls
a $500 day rate (a fair industry rate) for their appearance in the movie.
KUDOS TO PRIVATE. The rumor is that Private is handling the international
distribution of the DVD. If that is true it would explain why they would
spend $3500 on the event and then I applaud their honesty in paying
their girls a fair rate to appear in a project they are profiting from.
If it is not true and they spent the $3500 only to pay girls a fair rate
for doing PR for them I applaud them even more.
-----------------------------------------------------------
THE KSEX GAMES STORY UNFOLDS
Here are the conflicting versions offered up by Wankus & KSEX about
the Games:
This is NOT for profit:
This isn t some BIG MOTHER COMPANY coming into town to take advantage
of everyone and become rich of their name and images. This was a comradery
[sic] builder. This was a family picnic . This was a lets see if we
can make this work and get some great press for all involved kind of
thing . Wankus Email #5 (August 5, 2004 )
The sole purpose of KSEXgames was to get some good promo and press
for us and all the participants, not to make money on it. Seriously.
Wankus Email #4 (August 4, 2004)
VS
The VOD version will be released first, and then this fall we will
release a DVD with the entire event, including extra footage, behind the
scenes, interviews, etc. Empire Man, AdultDVDEmpire AdultDVDTalk.com
Thread #42209
[ It is very interesting that for profit porn companies would
spend thousands of dollars to organize, film, edit, and release a VOD
movie and a DVD with zero intention of profiting on the event. Perhaps
the VOD movie and DVD were supposed to be given away at no cost to the
fans so it really was just a great press family picnic ?]
We don t have any money to pay the girls:
This is not a high budget company where we can dish out thousands of
dollars for events. We do everything on a low budget and are hoping on
a return . - Wankus Email #4 August 4, 2004
VS
On his KSEX show, www.ksexradio.com, Wednesday night, Wankus said that
the Coliseum had been seriously considered as a venue for last Saturday
s Porn Olympics. A $10,000 consideration actually, because that s how
much it would have cost to retain it as a venue. And it was booked, according
to Wankus. However, the money wasn t a deal breaker as much as the fact
that conditions of the agreement set by L.A. City Council would have pre-empted
using any of the familiar L.A. Coliseum landmarks as backdrop.
AdultFYI.com article ID# 5151 (August 5, 2004)
[ Hmm &we can spend $10,000 on the venue and not pay the
girls a fee? I am not following either the budget (the movie ended up
being filmed in a back yard of a private home) or the rationale here.
It is the girl s brand names and naked bodies making KSEX money, not
the venue the movie was filmed in. But, I guess this is proof that KSEX
had the budget to make this movie.
Beyond that, Wankus & KSEX decided to pay Wankus a fee for producing
the movie, they payed their tech crew and cameraman, they paid Quaserman
& Ginger Lynn to provide the play by play , they paid Michelle Lay
and Katie Morgan to do sideline interviews , and they paid Guy Capo
to edit the movie. They paid everyone from KSEX just none of the actual
female talent in the movie. Wankus Email #5 (August 5, 2004)
Why would they pay their own KSEX staff (and Wankus himself) if it was
just a family picnic for fun and promotion ?]
It isn t our fault the girls didn t get paid; it is ADE and the movie
companies fault:
AdultDVDempire.com came to us with idea for a show that featured
girls doing Olympic style events in conjunction with the summer games.
I said to them, hey &if you re gonna do it, do it right.
ADE has a relationship with all the movie companies and they said they
would contact them and see if they could get competitors to be in the
event. It was agreed that if the movie companies scored the talent to
be in the events, it was up to THEM to pay the girls or give them their
own incentives to be on their team. KSEX did not provide any of the talent.
The movie companies did.
Basically, this is their event. [Emphasis added is mine.]
Wankus Email #4 (August 4, 2004)
VS
KSEX was the creative force behind the whole thing , Wankus said,
we came up with the contests, organized the events from chalking the
fields, placing the cones, bringing up the emcees to making signs, creating
detailed RULES handbooks and scoring the awesome venue we used .
AdultFYI.com Article #5436 (August 19, 2004)
[ Javier C, co-owner of DVSX
(a major KSEX advertiser by the way) denies that Wankus and KSEX explained
the event to them. He denies that DVSX is making ANY money from the event.
He states that he was told it was just for press and promotion as well.
When the truth about the event was explained to him, he immediately put
in several phone calls to Wankus to get an explanation since he didn t
understand why KSEX, ADE, and Adam & Eve would be profiting by the
use of the DVSX brand name and trademark and DVSX wasn t. At press time
of this release, Wankus had still not returned any of Javier C s phone
calls.
Javier explicitly states that ANY time DVSX makes a movie and profits
from it, they pay their talent. Javier states he was never offered an
opportunity to buy the DVD at wholesale and sell it at retail like Wankus
promises that he was (which just sounds like a way for Wankus to make
more money). Javier pointed out the total lack of logic in that promise
if Private, Adam & Eve, DVSX, Red Light District, and Wicked all
tried to sell the DVD to their distributors, they would be selling to
the same exact distributors. They all sell to the same people! The only
people making money would be KSEX.
As far as the awesome venue the event was filmed in a backyard of
a private home with only 1 toilet for 80 + people. That toilet ended up
breaking halfway through the event and I personally secured a bucket of
water that could be used to manually flush the toilet the rest of the
day. The girls were there in the hot sun for about 7 hours, and there
was some water provided (they ran out) and some snacks.]
-----------------------------------------------------------
Wankus states that If you don t like the fact that some girls didn t
get paid to have a day of fun and great press [Emphasis
mine], then your anger should be at the movie companies, NOT KSEX .
Wankus Email #5 (August 5, 2004)
Why would the movie companies pay the girls to appear in a KSEX movie
when KSEX wasn t even sharing the profits with the movie companies?
The only people we know for a fact are profiting are KSEX and ADE. We
are told by a source very close to Adam & Eve that Adam & Eve
is handling the DVD distribution and is expecting to make a killing on
it. (If and when that becomes guaranteed fact, I will upgrade the strength
in that comment). Shouldn t the only people profiting on the event be
the ones to pay the people they are exploiting? Not the movie companies
who are also being exploited?
Wankus states that I thought you knew the KSEX philosophy . Wankus
Email #5 (August 5, 2004).
Yes, I do. Wankus comes from an internet sex radio show background. In
radio, people make appearances unpaid in exchange for promotion. Clearly,
Wankus & KSEX haven t grasped that making a for-profit VOD movie
and DVD is NOT a for promotion event and they won t be able to get
away with that in the porn world. If you make a movie, you have to pay
your girls.
When Jules Jordan of Evil Angel asked on the AdultDVDTalk.com thread
what do the girls make from all this? , Wankus got very upset. In fact,
his reply to me was:
The problem in any career field, but more obviously in the porn world,
is once a very closed minded moron [Emphasis mine] throws out
a comment, that comment builds unwarranted animosity . Wankus Email
#5 (August 5, 2004)
So Jules Jordan is a moron because he thinks girls should get paid for
appearing in porn movies?
If Jules Jordan or Joey Silvera of Evil Angel books you for a movie
you will get paid.
If Alex Ladd or Guy Capo of DVSX books you for a movie you will get
paid.
If Brandon Iron or Michael Stefano of Platinum X Pictures books you for
a movie you will get paid.
If Wankus and KSEX tell you that they have an event where you will
get great promotion , know that they really mean they will make money
off of your naked body and your brand name but they won t share the money
with you.
THE TRUTH ABOUT WANKUS, KSEX, & MONEY
Jules Jordan specifically asked about the following KSEX events:
- (AdultDVDTalk.com Thread # 42209)
Porn Star Karaoke
Wankus replied: The club makes the money. That s it. We go just
to have fun .
It is true that KSEX doesn t make money from PSK. Wankus forgot to mention
that he was personally getting a nightly promotion fee and free drinks
to keep bringing the porn crowd in.
KSEXRadio
Wankus replied: Our hosts get paid, we get membership and advertising
money. The fans get paid in great entertainment, the guests get paid in
good promo.
KSEX hosts are promised a $20 per hour fee (all but 2 non-Wankus hosts
have 1 hour shows). I don t personally know anyone who has actually received
the fee. I am submitting an invoice tomorrow (August 27) for the 26 shows
we did ($1,040 owed). I will report back on whether we actually get paid
that money or not.
Do the guests really get great promotion ? That depends on how big
an audience you need to believe you got great promotion. Less than half
of the shows on KSEX get 1,000 or more people to listen to their show.
The bottom shows get just a few hundred people. Even Wankus s own shows
only get between 1,000 and 2,000 a night on the best night. If you are
content with getting naked on camera or having sex on camera to influence
just 1,000 people then you are getting great promotion . If you thought
that there were 100,000 people listening & no, there aren t. Wankus
says that about 30% of the listeners have paid for memberships and
are watching the live video and that 70% are just listening to the free
radio feed. So if there are only 900 people listening to the show you
are appearing on less than 300 people are seeing your naked breasts.
Personally, I found that I was bringing more people to KSEX from my ADT
participation, my website, and my Yahoo Group than KSEX was bringing back
to my website or to my Yahoo Group.
I loved doing my show because I had a chance to connect with the people
that were loyal to me as porn fans, not because I was getting great promotion
. Every single bit of promotion I got from my KSEX show came because
I religiously press released to all the adult sites almost every single
week. If you don t religiously promote yourself, your KSEX show will
be one with a few hundred listening and you won t end up with an effective
promotion.
I did my show for the Silent Jays, the bono-Ones, the Skronkers, the
Harri Patels, the Firechases, the Young Burts &. the people that showed
up every single week and the people that then on their own would promote
me in other arenas. I will miss hanging with those people every Wednesday
night a lot but, I will make up for it in my forum, the ADT forum, and
the ADT chat Wednesday night.
I also did my show so I could give back (even if it was only in a little
way) to the directors and companies that booked me for movies and promoted
my name. If I could talk about a director s movie or a company and that
company just got 1 extra order than I had done something.
The reason I felt great about my guests appearing on my show? Because
I sent out press releases to all the adult websites which included my
girls pics, website links, etc. I averaged over 10,000 reads on my own
website of each KSEX show (with the top ones being read over 25,000 times!).
I knew that my girls were getting website hits.
Here is what you don t know about appearing on KSEX:
KSEX makes money by charging advertisers money to advertise and by members
joining its site. Fair enough, but, there are also other arrangements
I found out about that made me very uneasy &
We had photographers that kept showing up to our show uninvited by
us and taking hundreds of photos of our girls in action. At first we
thought that they were taking pictures for KSEX, but then none of those
pics ever showed up on KSEX. What we found out was that those photographers
sell those photos to magazines like Oui, Cheri, etc. They are making
money by taking pictures of the girls without paying the girls. Every
other photographer has to book a girl for a photo shoot and pay her rate
to submit her pictures to magazines but, not at KSEX.
KSEX also is selling their content. According to Wankus, KSEX itself
doesn t make any money. It has lost money all 4 years it has been in
business. According to Wankus, it is the KSEX content company that keeps
it in business. I don t know what the content company sells. I do know
that the KSEX shows right now are airing on Asian satellite. KSEX invested
in a new T-1 to get higher quality streaming to allow that deal to go
through and hope it will be very profitable so they can invest in better
equipment, higher pay for staff, etc. Someone (are you reading this L-ke F-ord this one is made for you) should investigate exactly how many places
KSEX content is showing up.
If you are a porn star considering appearing on KSEX, you should know
the following:
a) your audience reach will be between a couple hundred and approximately
1,500 people depending on the show and the night;
b) if the photographers are shooting your pictures, they will be sold
to adult magazines and you will not be reimbursed (apparently the KSEX
appearance model release is all the photographer needs to sell them);
c) your footage may be sold to everyone from satellite companies to websites
without your being reimbursed.
If reaching a couple hundred people is worth that trade of your naked
body and your sex acts, then by all means do it. If you are a little taken
aback by how KSEX uses your appearance without telling you then don
t go on a KSEX show.
These are all things that we weren t told even when we started doing
our show. These are things that we found out as time went on.
If KSEX was just a true radio station like the Howard Stern show
we would have no problem with the trade of free content for air promotion.
I didn t get paid for my appearance on the Howard Stern show (although
I did win $10,000!), but I knew that 8.5 million people listened to it.
I knew that the Stern show was NOT selling my photos and video footage
to magazines and satellite companies around the world. It was honest radio.
There is a lot KSEX won t tell you about how they intend to make money
off you.
Now & they think they can profit off your brand name and naked body
in regular porn DVD s without paying you. Want to help stop that?
KSEXGames
Wankus replied: adultdvdempire [sic] and ksex [sic] merged together
to make a fun event that brings a lot of attention to the movie companies,
talent and more. The movie companies are asked to submit their rosters
and if they decide to pay their girls, that s up to them. The VOD and
possible DVD from the footage shoot at this event will be split with ADE
and ksex [sic] and will hopefully cover the large expense we paid to make
it a hot event. If it does do well and got to DVD, the movie companies
will be able to buy the production wholesale and sell it for their own
profits.
I am not sure if you will be able to keep up with Wankus s new porn
philosophy here, Jules. I will try to translate for you. *smile*
Wankus is saying that making a for-profit porn DVD is just a fun event
. Maybe in the future, you could call your movies fun events and not
have to pay the girls. I mean, if she has an orgasm - why should she get
paid! She is having fun! And, her name is on the box so she is getting
great promotion . Hell & I think the whole porn industry is wrong
and Wankus & KSEX is right! NO MORE PAYING GIRLS! If they have fun
at the shoot and they get promotion , you don t have to pay them!!!!
New porn paradigm thanks to Wankus & KSEX!!! Oh, but, make sure you
make the filming of your movie a hot event that way the profits can
cover your expenses in making it one.
Second, Jules, Wankus is saying that the movie companies who participated
in the event and who were RESPONSIBLE to pay the talent can buy the
movie at wholesale and sell it for a profit. So & the company who
bore the expense of the movie should still have to buy it? I see &
I guess, Jules in the new porn paradigm if you pay to shoot a movie you
still have to buy it from Evil Angel at wholesale to be able to sell it
at retail. That sounds fair to me. Of course, I am ignoring that movie
companies don t sell movies at retail they sell them at WHOLESALE to
the 5 major distributors who sell them to the online and the brick and
mortar stores who sell them at retail, but let s not confuse facts with
smoke screens! Let s ignore Javier C s comment that all 5 movie companies
sell to the same exact distributors. Let s ignore that the movie companies
apparently were responsible to pay the talent. Let s just focus on the
new way of doing business in porn valley you pay for the movie and then
pay KSEX a wholesale rate to sell the movie to the same distributors everyone
else is.
KSEX DVD S
Wankus replies: The girls get paid their rate to perform in them
.
I love how he confidently ignores that the KSEX Games IS A PORN DVD!!!
The first project KSEX shot on their own was Sexual Frequency . Despite
an A-List cast, that movie has still not been released. It was scheduled
for release several months ago. According to Wankus, when he saw the finished
project he was very unhappy with it. I don t know if they are still re-working
it or if has been thrown in the garbage. I do know Wankus has stopped
replying to questions on the KSEX forums asking about it.
Bottom line the KSEX Games IS a porn DVD and Wankus and KSEX did NOT
pay the talent in the movie. And, unless public pressure is brought on
Wankus & KSEX, they will continue to use the 80 s porn line on girls
do it for the promotion, baby . Again, Wankus & KSEX are already
planning the Tahoe Winter Games. Can you write them and tell them you
will NOT support them unless they pay the girls?
SO WHY DID WANKUS FIRE SELENA SILVER FROM KSEX?
Wednesday, August 4th, Kent and Wankus were talking before our 6pm show.
Right before the show began, Wankus made some direct comments about the
KSEX games that Kent unwillingly had to respond to. We had planned on
having a private and professional conversation with Wankus about our feelings
about the Games. We fully intended on still being a part of the KSEX family;
we just wanted to help Wankus see the difference between doing radio and
making porn movies and hoped to see him do the right thing.
Wankus caught that something was wrong from Kent s comments, and said
well, this may be a bad time to bring this up but, all KSEX hosts are
required to spend 5 minutes on their show promoting the KSEX Games .
That in itself is interesting. If KSEX hosts are employees, KSEX has
the right to require them to do specific things. If KSEX hosts are independent
contractors, KSEX does NOT have the right to require them to do specific
things. Obviously, KSEX takes the position that KSEX hosts are not employees
otherwise, they would be open to a wrongful termination suit, right?
Let s ignore that for a moment.
We did our show without promoting an event we believed exploited my fellow
porn stars.
Wankus wrote us an email during the course of our show, which he gave
us a print copy to read afterwards. That email was not a harsh or bad
email. We didn t react to it badly. But, it was more of the lies &.
He wrote us another email at midnight that night which we did take issue
with. In it he berated us for not promoting the KSEX Games telling us
that whether you like it or not, you have to do it. It still wasn t a
relationship breaking email. He was still calling us friends and saying
we were important to him (even though he had directly lied to us about
the games so he didn t have to pay me).
But, then things began to go downhill &we replied via email on Thursday,
August 5 and told him what we thought about the approach KSEX was taking.
We didn t know at that point if they were just inexperienced and didn
t know that making a porn DVD was different from doing a KSEX show or
if they were people who didn t give a f-ck about the female talent and
were happy to exploit them. Wankus reply answered that question.
We said in our email that KSEX needed to pay the girls. We told Wankus
that we would not promote the KSEX Games on our show if he did not pay
the girls. We told Wankus that if he released the DVD without paying the
girls, we would consider campaigning against people buying the DVD or
the VOD.
Wankus reply the next day on Friday, August 6 was mean, childish, and
dogmatic. We knew at that point he had no intention on paying girls and
wasn t going to change. We also started seeing the Wankus that so many
people had warned us about.
After this email, we had no desire to do any more KSEX shows. He had
so manipulated and betrayed our friendship by lying to us and then by
treating us like such sh-t that we just wanted out. But, then I read on
ADT a post by Silent Jay promoting my next KSEX show and a couple of posts
on my Yahoo Group about it and some more comments in my KSEX forum and
I just started crying. I so didn t ever want to go back to KSEX, but
I had built a family with porn fans that was bigger than just me. I had
promoted a show and I was about to break my promise with my fans. I emailed
Wankus and told him we were still doing the show.
He wanted to get together and talk, but the only time he had (a 30 minute
slot before he flew to Miami) didn t work for us. We agreed to talk when
he got back.
We did our August 11th show and never mentioned or hinted at the problem
we had with KSEX. I had done my August 4th SelenaSilver.com monthly chat
and never hinted at it. We were handling this professionally (even as
Wankus emails became more childish). I guess our August 11th show must
have been good the emails I got from listeners said that it was the
replay they used on August 18th the day I was fired by Wankus &
KSEX.
On August 18th my birthday at 12:24pm PST we received an email from
Wankus stating that they were terminating the Wednesday night, 6:00pm
show, The Inside View, effective immediately. If you have guests scheduled
for your show tonight, please cancel them. - Wankus Email #1 (August
18, 2004)
(Over the next 5 ½ hours before the show began, we scrambled to
cancel the 12 guests Kent had booked for my birthday show that very day.)
Wankus never called us on the phone to discuss this.
Wankus never met with us face to face to discuss this.
He traded a couple emails with us and then fired us.
He fired us - both people he called his friends AND his top rated
show after his - because he made a porn movie without paying the female
talent and we called him on that and said he should.
There is nothing more to it. And, there is nothing less to it.
I leave you to make your own conclusions about Wankus and KSEX from
that.
You know what is really sad? If Wankus had been at all remorseful in
his emails back and had hinted at a solution we would still be on KSEX,
I would not be writing this, and the girls would probably end up with
something positive. It was his responses alone that led to this impossible
to repair situation.
WHAT SHOULD YOU DO ABOUT KSEX?
I Selena Silver am calling for a boycott of KSEX and its associated
products.
Everyone makes mistakes, and even though I am sure that Wankus &
KSEX won t change on their own I am willing to let public pressure change
them. If they a) apologize, b) make sure all the girls in the DVD were
paid, c) disclose all their money making schemes (like selling the girls
pictures from the show for profit to magazines) so girls know up front
what they are getting into, and d) always pay the girls in the future
when they make porn movies we should let them back into the porn fan world
if you as porn fans want to let them back.
But, until then, I am asking that you do the following:
1. Do not buy the KSEX Games VOD or DVD if you do, you are
stating that you do not care if girls are exploited in this industry.
2. Do not join the KSEXradio.com membership site and/or cancel your
membership to KSEXradio.com if you have one if you are a member
of that site, you are supporting the people that made the KSEX Games and
you are telling them directly that you don t care if they exploit the
talent in this industry.
3. Do not listen to the free broadcast of KSEX they make most
of their money from their advertisers. If you listen even for free
you are logged as a listener that they base their advertising rates on.
You can t listen or you are directly helping them.
4. If you are an advertiser of KSEX immediately cancel your advertising.
I am sure you don t want to be known as a supporter of a company
that exploits young girls and I am hoping you are going to get a lot of
emails from fans telling you that they will not buy your products if you
continue advertising with KSEX. How much business are you really getting
from them anyway?
5. Write to all KSEX advertisers (I will be adding a list shortly
to this post) and tell them you will never buy their products as long
as they advertise on KSEX. Then BUY products from anyone who cancels their
advertising. Seriously. Report back in this thread when you have done
so.
6. Write to AdultDVDEmpire.com people who are probably blameless
in this and encourage them strongly to put pressure on KSEX to do the
right thing and pay the girls they are trying to make money from.
7. Write to Wankus (wankus@ksexradio.com) and Chris and Allison the
real owners of KSEX (chris@ksexradio.com & allison@ksexcash.com )
and tell them what you REALLY THINK about how they treating porn
girls and the actions you are taking.
8. Write to the 5 companies involved Private, Wicked, DVSX,
Red Light District, and Adam & Eve - tell them what you think about
the KSEX Games and ask them to put pressure on Wankus & KSEX.
9. Write to every single adult and mainstream news website and agency
that you can find; post on every adult and mainstream message board that
you can find. Build an overwhelming awareness of KSEX s intention
to exploit young naked girls for their own profit.
10. Buy a Jules Jordan DVD. Jules was the only industry person
that stood up and questioned Wankus about what KSEX was doing (and that
made Wankus really, really mad!). Reward the people who stand up for what
is right. Jules stood up for what? Reward him by buying a Jules Jordan
DVD ASAP and email him and tell him you did just because of what he did.
ABOVE ALL DON T JUST READ THIS THREAD AND MOVE ONE. RESPOND. REPLY.
ADD YOUR THOUGHTS. REPLY HERE. REPLY ON THE KSEX FORUM. TELL PEOPLE WHAT
YOU THINK. TAKE A STAND.
MY MONEY WHERE MY MOUTH IS
I will personally send a FREE porn DVD to every single person (in the
United States) who can prove that they cancelled a KSEXradio.com membership.
I will send a FREE porn DVD to anyone outside of the United States who
can prove they cancelled a KSEXradio.com membership if they will pay shipping
on the DVD.
-TO The Fans
You may never listen to KSEX then this won t be hard for you. You
might be addicted to KSEX - then this will. But, if you listen to KSEX
you support people who exploit female porn stars. If you stop listening
and are vocal to them about your thoughts & they will change. And,
when they change you can go back to listening. Come on!!! Take a stand
for the female talent in this business. Without them there is no porn.
Do NOT listen and email them to tell them what you think about them.
-To The Porn Stars & Directors
Think before you blindly appear on KSEX. Know upfront that only 100-2000
people (MAX) are listening. Know upfront your pictures might be sold to
adult magazines, your video to porn sites around the world; for sure your
video can be archived in the KSEX membership site to make them money over
and over and over &. Know upfront that this is a company that made
a porn DVD and refused to pay the female talent in it. Know that they
lied to talent (me!) to appear. Know that they are not remorseful and
are instead planning on doing it again (Wankus is already promoting the
Winter Games ). Cancel your scheduled appearances. Tell Wankus you will
not appear on his KSEX and make him money until he pays the girls whose
naked bodies he exploited in his porn DVD The KSEX Games to line his
own pockets with cash.
-To the Porn Companies
Know that KSEX is your competitor. They are not only trying to sign up
porn website customers to their site, they are taking dollars away from
your pockets. People spend their money at KSEX instead of on your DVD
s. Now they are making DVD s too! DVD s that will directly compete
with yours except they aren t paying the talent. Is reaching 500 people
on their show (mostly their loyal fans anyway!) worth helping give content
to a company that is in direct competition with you?
-To the KSEX Advertisers
Cancel. You are financially supporting a company that is exploiting the
female talent in this business. Is that what you want to be known for?
What is the real return you are getting from KSEX? I have personally heard
Wankus making fun of advertisers who call him saying I am not seeing
a return! . He laughed to me as he related how he told them it is radio
you don t see an immediate return; it is brand awareness over time
. Are you making more from direct sales from KSEX advertising than you
are spending? Cancel. Demand your money back. Then press release on ADT
and every adult site that you canceled your advertising to take a stand
against a company that refused to pay its talent. The good porn fans around
the world will respond and drive business too you. Read the comments that
come after my post in this thread carefully.
-A Special Message to ADT ers.
Make ADT an unfriendly place for a KSEX poster. ADT has long been a place
where porn directors, studios, and stars can come because they are respected
here. They are treated right here. They are safe here.
Don t let ADT become a place where people who are known to exploit female
talent are welcome. YOU own this place. I trust you to use your judgment
and your power they way I KNOW you will.
I love this place &
-To KSEX Hosts
I know most of you; I love many of you. This isn't to hurt you; this
is too help you. Maybe YOU need to help the female talent in this business
too.
If you are currently running a show on KSEX, I would ask that you suspend
your show until KSEX has made it right to the females it exploited in
the KSEX Games. Tell Wankus you will not do your show again until this
is resolved.
If enough people stand up for what is right - right triumps over wrong.
God, I love many of you...
MY APOLOGISE FOR HOW LONG IT TOOK FOR ME TO REPLY TO THIS
I read many emails and some posts on the KSEX forum, ADT, my Yahoo Group,
and my SelenaSilver.com forum asking for the truth about what happened
to my show. I am sorry I couldn t post earlier. I was on vacation for
2 weeks (my family was here from Australia) and I wasn t able to post.
It truly was bad timing.
I thank you from the bottom of my heart for your support. I appreciate
you, I value you, I love you. Without porn fans there are no porn stars.
I didn t want to leave you hanging. I would never have stopped my show
without telling you. Wankus didn t allow me to say goodbye.
The first fight we ever had with Wankus was about an issue very related
to this. We had promoted for a couple of weeks our April 14 show it
was supposed to be Inside a Porn Shoot . Victoria Givens was the guest
and we were going to shoot a girl/girl scene live on the air. That was
the week the HIV crisis broke and we couldn t in good conscious do a
porn shoot that week! We post-poned our show until May 19. We told our
fans what we were doing up front and instead did a show about HIV and
the porn industry.
We got a VERY stern (okay & very mean) email from Wankus ordering
us to never ever tell fans again what we didn t have. He got quite childish
in that exchange. (That should have been our first clue!)
We don t agree with him at all. We think honesty is the best policy.
He thinks if you promote something all week to fans and you know it isn
t going to happen that you shouldn t tell them. Get them to tune in
anyway they might stay if you are interesting, he says. If you tell
them that you don t have what you promised them, they might not come.
Wankus, we think you should tell fans the truth. Don t lie to them just
because you are desperate and afraid they won t tune in. Trust them more
and don t insult their intelligence like that.
I got an email from a listener who said that HDalhmer posted in the KSEX
Forum during the August 18th replay show the one I promoted as my B-Day
show and asked why was it a replay? Why were all the stickies gone
in my forum? I was told that Wankus just DELETED that post.
Wankus lies to fans like he lies to porn girls.
He said in the other thread that there are no good bye shows on radio
. What a load of sh-t. It you did a really well promoted good bye show,
your ratings go through the roof. Why are the highest rated shows on TV
shows always the all-time finales??? All mainstream radio & TV shows
promote the last show. They all say good-bye. Wankus doesn t like good-bye
shows because he never says good-bye without bitterness and anger.
I received several emails from Europeans who said they stayed up until
the wee hours of the morning to hear my August 18th B-Day show and were
quite upset it was a replay instead. For that, I am truly sorry it wasn
t my choice.
I am truly sorry I never got to say goodbye to you. Thank you for supporting
me. Thank you for listening every week.
And, thank you in advance for the action I know you will take now.
Sincerely,
Selena Silver
P.S. THE GIRLS OF THE KSEX GAMES
Please support the following girls who were taken advantage of by KSEX
they weren t paid for their appearance in the porn DVD made by KSEX
(except for the PRIVATE team and probably the WICKED team). You can do
that by a) joining their website, b) buying DVD s starring them, and
c) booking them if you are a porn director/studio.

Gonzo: Thanks AVN For Selling Off My Information
Gonzo
writes on Oprano.com:
Just got a call from Girls Gone Wild.....called me gonzo and was to
my new business Vonage line which I purposely put on my registration
information at Internext. Ive suspected them of selling off my information
after trade shows for a long time.
Dude wanted me to answer 30 questions so he could send me 2 FREE DVDs
of Girls gone Wild. The questions were to prequalify you for recurring
billing to get more of the videos on a monthy recur. When I pushed him
as to why he wanted my credit card information he asked me didnt I want
some free porn?
Of course when I told him I wasnt going to give him the CC #'s so then
he wanted checking information. I told him nice cascading billing and
I wasnt giving him any information because the videos were for free.
Of course he wanted to say that the information was used strictly just
to verify my age. I pressed him and said so I will never be billed and
never be preshipped a video? He said no.
So I told him I needed to ask him a few questions... 1. Whats your
full name? 2. Whats the name of the business your working for? 3. Whats
your street address?
This got me a long conversation with the supervisor who finally told
me that the numbers and names come from an outsourced solution.
So thanks AVN. Now I get unsolicited phone calls because once again
you prove that you have NONE of the best interests of webmasters in
mind when you throw your conventions. I paid you $150 for a pass and
you sold off my personal information.
Nice move so if your an attendee or an exhibitor guess what? Your more
revenue for the greedy fu---s at AVN. Congradulations... you are now
my new hobby!
I have suspected this a long time. I put down my magic Vonage number
that gives me free long distance...Its not listed anywhere on anything
I get. But the cincher is when the weasel asked for GonZo.
Lee writes:
The Mandalay Bay itself is holding 3 conventions of its own at the
same time as Internext, this is what Gary and I were told by their catering
people. With this comes the fact they simply do not have enough room
for hospitality suites to spread between all three shows. We have been
told we have a hospitality suite reservation but alas, that is only
true if AVN manage to get back to us in time on Monday once they have
had their meeting about the collosal f-ckup they made by moving the
venue. One way or another though, we will be having our event in Vegas
whether it is 'sanctioned' by AVN or not. The politics and bullsh-t
surrounding something as simple as holding an invite only meal for 100
people each day of the show just astounds me.
Webmasters Need To Learn How To Dress
Brad Shaw
writes on JBM: "Looking through JFK's photos. Guy
sitting at Epoch / Paycom dinner in a wifebeater [talking to Joan Irvine].
Pure Class. At
least he got an invitation though. Ours must have been lost in the
mail, again."
The huge guy Marty in the wifebeater is a friend of adultlounge.com and
owns adultcheck.com.
Marty replies
on JBM:
i have been watching this thread for awhile and i decided that it was
time to post. i have been in the adult industry since 1994 and i never
post on these boards. when you touch a soft spot, you ask for it brad
shaw. the soft spot is my tank top. i wear my tanktop everywhere. its
my trademark. i've got 40 of them, all black. now if you really would
like to know the story, i was dragged into this dinner minutes before,
by my good friend raffi at adultlounge.com who actually is responsible
for getting me into this business, this explains why i didnt have time
to go back and change into something more appropriate.i would like to
thank chris mallick from paycom for having me at the last minute even
though i was not invited, which is the explanation for the way i was
dressed. It was a great dinner. i have learned one thing about life,
that is, people are very judgemental. i was dressed in my usual attire
because that is the way that i filter out judgemental shallow people,
not to mention, i love comfort because i get more done that way. if
its my appearance that you are concerned about, thats one thing, but
if you would like me to make you more money in adult, just take a look
at what i built for for a company called New Realities Technologies,
Inc. i also wanted to say "thank you" to the people who back me up on
this board, such as WEGCorey, J$tyle$, triumph, and anyone else who
knows that its not how you look, its who you are inside.
i commend you brad shaw, noone has ever got me on the boards. To be
honest with you noone at the dinner seemed to mind. for those of you
who i did offend, i
dressed up for you now. this is for you, and cheers!
and for
you brad shaw, i dressed up real special for you
