David Schlesinger - The Spy Who Loved Me
2003-08-25 15:45:48
A challenging report by Nelson Mandela, the hero of
South Africa, the enemy of racism, and the supporter of the oppressed:
This story is about the man who has run the Vivid Video Internet operation
for the past five years and is now in charge of its “branding” operations.
David Schlesinger briefly left Vivid to work for Girls Gone Wild, which
was busted on multiple child pornography counts, RICO violations, interstate
drugs operations (they even had their airplane seized). Schlesinger was
not charged with any crimes. Now he is back at Vivid.
Remember that so-called infamous KB / Brad Shaw mailing list that spat
Brad Shaw has complained about on GFY for weeks? It turns out KB had nothing
to do with it – he was just a broker who gave no warranties – caveat emptor.
Was it a $17k rip-off? Yes, but from who. The list was a spam list. While
it came from many spammers, sources suspect it had a MAJOR Vivid contribution.
It was part of the list was allegedly stolen also from “renegade employees”
of Jordan Levinson's Join4free.com. KB allegedly brokered the sale of
an unknowingly allegedly stolen list (KB says he did not know it was stolen)
from David Schlesinger indirectly to Brad Shaw (who says he did not know
it was stolen). KB never touched the list. Brad apparently did not know
he was purchasing stolen property. This has been going on for 8 months.
What is hard to believe is that KB took the heat for a friend's alleged
theft. What a stand up guy.
David Schlesinger knows more about this than he lets on. He should be
a man, or he should consider getting out of an industry that does not
like him.
There's a whole interesting chain of command of important operators who
may have touched that list. And in therapy-speak, that touch may have
been inappropriate. I can imagine a few adult players screaming, "David
Schlesinger touched me inappropriately." And we're not talking the literal
hand on body touch either. We're speaking in a more poetic sense.
We're talking about David and the Sex Toy Network. How much of David’s
revenue went to Vivid? How much even shows up on his 1040? Did David give
all the money (or traffic) he controlled in his trusted position to his
boss, Steve Hirsch? Given how easy it is to divert money in this business
(to offshore accounts even), was Steve Hirsch served well? Does anyone
care?
I hear David touched other people without giving Mr. Hirsch his tribute.
Gary Kremen and his sex.com operation were touched inappropriately. I've
heard that David sliding his hand deep inside Kremen's pockets with the
help of SE Guru. They, according to sources, digitally manipulated sex.com
to the tune of up to $250,000. The records and log file showing what happened
mysteriously disappeared as SE Guru left sex.com. SE Guru was running
the site at the time and had full access to those records.
Kremen and team acknowledge confronting Schlesinger on the issue at Vivid’s
booth at the Vegas show. They were told “Pay you? f-ck you. You should
be paying me personally $25,000 for using our name in banners on your
site. We should own any clicks that come from the use of our name plus
a pre-paid royalty?” The meeting did not end well, with sex.com going
away with their feelings hurt. Does GFY or setgo.com pay Vivid $25,000
every time it uses its name? Inquiring minds want to know. Bad touch.
We think friends should not let friends pick each other's pockets.
We understand that Vivid’s mailing list is so weak it gets few signups
according to a person close to the Vivid mailing list. Could someone from
the inside be continuing to misappropriate the Vivid list and selling
it around without paying Mr. Hirsch, the owner? Maybe Steve should get
an audit done of his operations.
It not the first time it happened. The same thing happened to Python.
However Dave VP had enough balls to go after the thieves both criminally
and civilly.
The last issue is the setgo.com man of the week - David Schlesinger. Is
he helping or hurting Vivid’s reputation as head of branding?
RRRed writes on GFY: Before this thread gets out of control, let me make
sure it's known that THIS "renegade" employee of Join4free did not and
would not steal from the company. I am close friends with them to this
day.
Mutt, a Toronto Jew, writes: hmmmmmm............... alot of Jewish names
in that story. you'd almost think Jews were devious moneychangers but
we know that is ridiculous.
Shok writes: I love all the speculation. It's almost funny to hear all
the who done it's. There is not now or ever was a "renegade" employee.
Over the past years Join4free was a family more than just a company. Everyone
was a huge part and we were all brothers and sisters that worked hard
together.
Except for Gabe, he was the retarded brother we tried to hide, but he
got out.
KimmyKim writes: I'd just like to know who wrote that article for you
Luke. That's not your style, your grammar or your level of choice in adjectives.
DUC replies: That was a smart insight... I wrote about half of it...
BradShaw writes: KB wrote it. It is his writing, very easy to tell.
Kimmy Kim replies: Sorry Brad, nothing against you or KB, but if his grammar
skills were that good and you believed it, there would be something wrong
with both of you.
That's completely different than the usual XXX style that Luke employs
when his main sources send him info.
The flow and grammatical inflections of peoples writing becomes a pattern
very quickly, Luke. I'd never make it as an anon, it would take about
fifteen seconds for someone that knew me to read through it.
DUC writes: You are right again, KK. KB was dead set against my publishing
this. It's not his style. He warned me several times against going anywhere
near this story.
KB writes: That's because the issue is moot, fictional, and I would rather
see you expose the real filth in the biz, rather than dragging people's
good names and companies into this matter.
Kimmy you are one smart cookie baby-
As you know there are people out there who can't help themselves- it's
an obsessive/ compulsive type of thing.
I would love to take credit for the "Fictional Satire" Luke wrote - however
I simply can't.
BTW brad what did you find out about the traffic accident you thought
I made up?
Aly-Python writes: Kimmy (AKA Nancy Drew) seems to be the one who would
do a good job being DeepUndercover! LOL! SmartyPants!
