So I was hanging out on the public sidewalk outside the Roxy at 9009 Sunset Blvd Thursday night, 10:35PM, when this young man, about 30 years of age, buzz cut, earrings, wearing a Roxy jacket, comes down and asks me what I'm doing. I say I'm taking photos of porners and talking to them. He says that three of the guests have complained that I'm harassing them and I will have to leave his property.

I say I am on a public sidewalk. This is not your property. He says he's going to stay in my face all night until I leave. I say fine.

He walks over and gathers four of his tough guys. They hold a conference. He whips out a camera and snaps a few pictures of me. I hang out for another 10-minutes and then decide to go home.

I arrived at Hustler Hollywood at 8PM, 3/19/03. I see Duke Hunter from thehardcoresource.com and Don Benn from Adult Stars Magazine (ASM). Don has been visiting publicists all week so he can get stills for his magazine and interviews with porn stars. I spot Metro publicist Janie Liszewski, actress, stunt woman, dancer.

Don does fluff interviews with the girls, asking them what age they want to be in the magazine.

Former ASM publisher Jeff Cartwright is having a bad week. One of his dogs has cancer and another was mauled.

At 8:30PM, media number about a dozen, half of them mainstream (fans number a dozen too, as do Hustler Hollywood employees), including Miranda, an Asian woman and photographer for almost 20-years, mainly for maintream.

I spot Theresa Flynt, in jeans as always.

8:40PM: Limo drives up and disgorges several black rappers and almost ten porn girls - Kelly Erikson, AnnMarie, Britney Foster, India, Envy Mi, Angel Eyes. Gauge is already inside.

I get a 16-ounce Taboo smoothie (blackberries, blueberries, banana and apple juice) with a protein boost for $4:78. There's a big chunk of frozen banana at the bottom. I could get a 32-ounce better smoothie at Jamba Juice for the same price.

I ask Gauge when she's going to update her website www.gaugexxx.com. She says she's been busy and has had computer troubles but she plans to do so tomorrow.

I ask her about her ex-boyfriend Tina Cherry and her face screws up in anger. She says she filed two criminal charges against her "to stop myself from killing her."

Gauge says nobody knows where Tina Cherry is.

I ask her about her ex-boyfriend Mojo. She's aghast. She says he's in jail and he would do the world a favor if he shot himself. She makes the motions of putting a gun to the head with her hands.

I ask her if she's in any other feuds. She says no. She's got better herb these days.

I step outside with AnnMarie and Kelly Erikson. They smoke. I snap photos. AnnMarie asks me not to publish a photo of her smoking. She says she doesn't really smoke. This is an exceptional cigarette.

Kelly eggs me on to snap photos of AnnMarie smoking.

It's funny how many porn girls hate to be photographed with a cigarette but don't mind being photographed commiting the most intimate deeds such as oral sex with strangers.

9:34PM: Ron Jeremy appears and is greeted by Janie. I wander over to the Roxy with Don Benn and talk to Travis, who just started work with Sineplex Monday. He had worked at Vivid, in the promotions and marketing department, for four years. He's an amiable chap with nothing bad to say about anybody, to my disappointment.

Calli Cox is holding a birthday party next door at the Rainbow.

Don leaves quickly to get some sleep. I hang out chatting with Travis. His girlfriend arrives with three other girls, including Hispanic blonde natural breasted 5'2" porn star August of www.insideaugust.com. (What's her email address? I'd like to interview her.)

Guest list tonight includes Paul Fishbein, president of AVN, Red Light District people, Ramona Luv, Hollie Stevens, Scott Fayner, Mark Spiegler and ten porn girls, Tyler Faith, Tabetha Yang, Jules Jordan, Kim Conway (fat girl pornos), Dick Tracy and his girlfriend Kailey Taylor.

The Eels, a known rock band, play in the main part of the Roxy. The party is upstairs in a small room. No cameras allowed, to Duke Hunter's displeasure. He leaves quickly.

Travis's girlfriend Cassandra comes out. She's Vince Voyeur's assistant. They met while she was waitressing at CPK (California Pizza Kitchen).

Travis: "She was friends with Cody, the ex-Vivid girl.

"We are the most normal people.

"I'm in the business for the money."

Luke: "How did you get the job with Vivid?"

Travis: "I was working for Immortal Records - Korn, Incubus and other bands. And then I switched over to porn. I've worked in a video store since I was 13, so I've known what Vivid was all about."

Bob Friedlander of Jill Kelly Productions walks up with Jenna Haze and her boyfriend Matt.

Lucy Lee and Ashley Long, both represented by Mark Spiegler, walk up. Lucy gives me the evil eye.

Lucy: "I hate you. I hate you. I hate you. I f---ing hate you. Ahhhhh."

Luke: "Why do you hate me?"

Lucy: "He's a bastard. No more calls."

Ashley Long, as they walk up the stairs: "Who was that?"

Lucy Lee: "[DUC]."

Young security thug walks up to me: "What are you doing?"

DUC, taken aback: "I'm sorry."

Thug: "What are you doing?"

Luke: "I'm taking pictures and talking to people."

Thug: "Well, can you not do it on our property? Can you just keep moving."

Luke: "This isn't your property. It's a public sidewalk."

Thug: "You have to keep moving. You have to keep moving."

Luke: "It's a public sidewalk."

Thug: "You have to keep moving."

Luke: "It's a public sidewalk. You don't own this."

Thug walks off: "Just keep him for me."

Thug comes back to me: "You're bothering my guests. I've already had three people complain about you."

Luke: "How about I give you a few feet?"

Thug: "I would ask you to keep moving all night long. But you can do whatever you want."

Luke: "Ok."

Ten minutes later, I tire and walk to my car.
