According to the Howard Stern show, there's a video featuring family man Michael Jordan and Kylie Ireland.

Mike South is considering quitting Sin City and maybe porno.

I hear that John Decker and Roxanne Hall have split up. They've been having trouble for months.

Vince Voyeur was stabbed four times in an attempted robbery on him in Budapest, Hungary (about a month ago). Greg from Annabolic was also stabbed in same incident.

I hear that Kristina St. James left Tampa early in a huff because her ex-lover Stacy Valentine was flirting with other girls.

I hear that Rob Black shot and distributed (through Extreme Associates) two videos featuring a 17-year old girl (Sunshine?) which will have to be recalled. About ten days ago Jeffrey Douglas called around the industry [Jim South, Reb Sawitz etc] trying to hunt down the IDs on the girl. Her fake ID showed her to be 23 yo.

I hear that Sunshine also appeared in a video for Blue Moon Video.

I hear that Rob Black got much of his money to start Extreme from his rich father, the brother of "Chuck Zane," Dominic Ziccarri.

I hear that Metro is having financial trouble and owes various porners money. Sin City producer "Matt Taylor" replies: "Your info on Metro is very wrong. There is no other company as strong as this company in the whole industry."

I hear that Peter Davy and Nitro and the Nitro Cruise are "washed up."

I hear that John Leslie and his band will perform at the coming AVN Awards show in Las Vegas 1/99.

Rob Spallone's mad about this week's (9/27-10/4) porn trip to Mexico. "Rod Fontana [married about 17 years], Jim South, Julian St. Jox and lots of the talent are in it… The girls leave Sunday night.

"Talent have to drop $300 deposit off to Jim South. They get it back if they show up. If anything happens to these kids down there, he should be held responsible. Supposedly, they have the cops and everyone [in Mexico] paid off with sex. It's like a fantasy sex camp. Fans are paying $3000 to go on this trip, and join in the sex… Or watch the sex shot… They're worried about AIDS and they've having fans jump in for sex.

"The girls have to work six hours a day with the fans… playing volleyball, laying in the sun, going to dinner an hour a night with the fans… They're supposedly shooting about 40-60 scenes down there and the girls are getting paid $400 a scene. Christian Wolf was promised $4500 but now it has been changed to $400 per scene for about four scenes.

"What they're doing is not legal. What happens if someone gets arrested? They'll languish in those Mexican jails. And if they've got guys like Paul Coxx going on this trip, they better have a lot of room for the needles. These guys like to shoot their dicks up. If those Mexicans catch them with needles, they're going to be in trouble."

The "Porno Paradise" takes place at the Blue Bay Village, Km 20 Carretera Federal 200, Tenacatita, Jalisco Mexico, Cp 48989, 011-52-335-15020. Or go to www.smspromotions.com, or phone 800-995-2583. Talent supposed to attend include: Allysa Allure, Angela DeAngelo, Savanah Moore, Eve Adams, Candy Cash, Felecia Ann, Alex Dane, Johni Black, Mila, Montana Gunn, Tina Tyler, Papillon, Racquel Devine, Candy Vegas, Sana Fey, Malitia, Temptress, Jimi Ji and Alexandra Nice.

Free Speech Coalition insurance commissioner Greg Zeboray writes: "It is my understanding that the worthless Australian has posted an article about this matter [Jim South and Mexican Porn Party]. I can not at this time, say he is or is not correctly quoting Rob Spallone, as I have not spoken to him yet. But here is the facts: I believe Jim South is as opposed to this "party" as I am. More than once, I've sat at his desk and listened to him try to talk a girl out of going. He is worried about this. Regarding the deposit performers pay, it is going to SME promotions (the event coordinator), and Jim has nothing to do with collecting or holding the money. He doesn't even talk about it with his talent.

"Besides, I can't say I blame SME. Think how many would not show up, if they didn't have their money on the line. Any porn experienced business person would do the same.

"After I've spoken to Rob, I'll post on acme whether or not the worthless Australian correctly quoted him. Assuming he did, I won't be upset with Rob, as it just means he didn't fully understand. Fortunately, I have a good relationship with he and his father, and they know what I tell them is the truth. Oh by the way, I did visit the North Hollywood clinic, and its true, I was amazed."

I hung out with Rob and James DiGiorgio Friday as they shot the second day of their $15,000 epic for David Sturman, tentatively titled "Ode to Jim." Rob spent about $7,000 on the talent. He'll probably pocket $3000.

They shot a couple of scenes at a mansion in the hills above Pasadena.

Joe Spallone turned 63 years of age on Saturday and Mark Spiegler turns 40 Monday.

Rob Spallone, James DiGiorgio, Christian Wolf, Rob's friend Vinnie (comedian) and Wayne Crews visited the Blue Room in Burbank on Thursday evening and got thoroughly drunk. Jim led the way in hitting up girls, letting them know he was a porn director.

Rob: "Jim told one of them, 'you have nice tits.' She was shocked. This girl didn't want to hear this. She was shaking. But that's Jim. He's straight forward. I'm James DiGiorgio. I make porno.

"I spent $200 on drinks. Every time Christian ordered different drinks. I was so hung over this morning. The whole bar was staring at Jim like he was a naked girl… And the way we talk about porno, straight… We don't give a f---, blow jobs, anal, etc… They all stared. Jim got a hard on because someone knew him. My wife stayed home to watch the kids."

11:30 AM. Rob swerves in front of another car. "What are you doing, you motherf---er."

Jim: "All I did was tell her that she had nice tits. And she did have nice tits.

"The girls who worked at the Warehouse told me I was full of s--- [when Jim told them he was director James DiGiorgio], then I named every one of my titles.

"We had a problem last night and the bartender took care of it. One of the guys was grabbing Christian's tits.

"This one girl, good looking brunette about 35, gave me her home phone number, and her pager. And she wrote underlined 'I live alone.' I was thinking, 'if I was a serial rapist, how much better could this be.'"

Retired porner Angela Faith has left a message for Rob.

Rob shuts us up as we enter the North Hollywood Clinic to shoot a quick scene.

Dr. James Victor Bonura, owner of the clinic, is not a medical doctor. He has a Ph.D. in psychology.

Rob wraps up Wayne Crews and Jim to make them look like victims of a vintage Spallone beating.

I chat with Tony Everready who's stopped by the clinic for an HIV test with a new black female performer Linda. He's been in porn since 1993 and appeared in about 1000 videos.

"They've dropped the spousal abuse charges… The DA dropped the case. I don't have to go to court on it.

"I was not even home. It supposedly happened on the Sunday before Labor Day but I was gone all day. She [Tony's wife who he supposedly beat] was gone too. They had evidence of bruises on her legs and arms, but when they found out she was a dancer and she worked the pole, they dropped the charges.

"She started the trouble because I'm divorcing her. They picked me up on Monday. I have four warrants under my real name. I was using an alias. She told them [police] my real name and my alias. She told them I had a gun but I did not have a gun. I got out on $30,000 bail. I put $3000 down. I was in jail for twelve days.

"The four outstanding warrants - not doing 30 days [in prison] on a DUI [Driving under the Influence]… possession of marijuana… Violation of probation… On the DUI case, I'll serve weekends… Or if my lawyer is good enough, I'll walk on everything."

Jim: "I woke up this morning hung over. I walk outside my guest house and see Jack Hammer in a Santa Claus outfit getting his dick sucked by some blonde by the Jacuzzi. Jim Lane shooting it."

Rob gets Dr. Bonura's personal assistant Julliette Larin into a non-sex scene with Wayne and Jim. Julliette does not want to sign a release due to the sentence which gives the producer rights to distort the character's image. I suggest they strike that sentence which they do and she signs it.

Dr. Bonura: "They shot a movie here a year ago. It never came out. We've never seen it. Do these movies ever come out?"

Luke: "No, they're just made for the purpose of laundering money."

Dr. Bonura has an interview with Hustler on Monday.

I follow Jim and Wayne Crews up into the mountains above Pasadena. Several of us get lost. Jim does not have enough video tape. Mad scramble finally resolves nicely so Luke can get home for the looming Sabbath (sundown at 6:30PM Friday).

Candy Hill is a pleasant 35-year old busty blonde with kids who works frequently with Max Hardcore. They appeared on the cover of the LA Weekly a few weeks ago.

"I had lots of fun on that Deep Throat Quest for Arrow," says Candy. "I got to work with Anna Malle.

"It's an adventure working with Max. It's physically challenging. I like that. I got to go to France with him and help him terrorize little girls. He likes to call me Mrs. Max Hardcore. I get pretty crazy sometimes."

Luke: "You're one of the few women who can give back to Max as hard as he gives."

Candy: "Are you kidding? If I could get that man to sign a release, I'd ruin his career. He can be dominated. And I just said that on tape, oh my…"

Jim: "What did you say? Don't say anything to this man [Luke] that you don't want the world to know…"

Matt: "In fact, don't say anything. He's a worm."

Rob yells at Jim to hurry up with the shoot. Rob's impatient with Jim caring too much about niceties.

Candy: "Someone needs a blow job over there."

Rob: "Not me. I got laid this morning."

Jim: "Her sucking some guys dick will make the hard version of the movie but this [dialogue] will sell the soft version."

Matt Jade does Candy Hill. She earns about $500 and Matt about $200.

Rob decides to shoot chicks with dicks and Oliver (bondage video) at this house on Wednesday. We look at an abandoned chicken house in the back.

"We'll drag him [Oliver] through here on ropes," says Rob. "We'll abuse him. I want him bleeding."

Jim: "Would you pay him more money to break an arm or a leg?"

Rob: "There are 25 feet of steps that we'll drag him over."

Jim: "This is beautiful. It's dirty. It's filthy. Insects."

Rob: "I'm going to tell him that he'll [house owner] will have to buy chains and ropes."

I meet Extreme Associates contract (one year) boy Luciano (Sicialian ancestry from New York) and his Jewish fiance Jessice Jewel (formerly Heather Hornay) who paid for college performing at bachelor parties with her friend Racquel DeVine (who's torn up her anus so bad doing porn she can no longer do anal).

Rob lectures Luciano and Jessica about porn: "We are the most hated business. If I f--- you today and give you a check for $500 and bounce the check on you, what are you going to do? You're going to cry. 'Cause I'll tell you to go f--- yourself. You're going to take me to court? They hate us. They don't want us clogging up the courts.

"When they (Rob Black etc) say they're selling 4000 units out the door, it don't mean much. Many of those tapes are simply traded with other companies…

"Where girls make their money is by dancing. They'll buy copies of their movies for $1 each and sell them to fans for $40 each."

Luciano says his best videos include Whack Attack 2, where he came to the attention of Tom Byron, Night Stalker for Jane Waters and Tales From the Clit by Slain Wayne.

Luciano watched lots of porn and finally visited Reb Sawitz at Pretty Girl. After three months Luciano made his debut with Mike Hott. Overall in 1997, he made ten videos. In January of 1998 I met through the girls the big companies and I've done over 150 videos.

"To be a successful male performer you need to do pace yourself. Do one great scene a day instead of several scenes, some of which may be good…

"I revolve my whole personal life around work. If I have a scene, I don't come the day before.

"This is work. I don't care if the girl is attractive or not."

Luciano, 29, and Jessica, 32, have been together four months. She's leaving the business. He helps her to curb her free spending ways. "We don't live this lifestyle. We're just in it for the money. I don't do drugs or smoke cigarettes or drink… I just laugh all the way to the bank. I'm buying a home thanks to this business."

Rob lectures Luciano and Jessica: "This John Decker tells you he makes $500-$600 a scene. I know he's done stuff for $200 a scene.

"Rob Black is trying to top Zane. He's getting crazier…

"When my father got busted six years ago [Gourmet Video], it cost my father $650,00 cash. We beat the charges but we really lost…

"Specialty Labs is the best and biggest [blood work laboratory]. They want nothing to do with Sharon Mitchell. When they were charging $95 for the PCR DNA test, she went to Quest Labs which charges $64. She told Specialty 'f--- you.' This clinic that Sharon deals with [Quest] has a lot more false positives… Whenever they have one, they have to send it over to Specialty Labs."

Jessica took her first PCR DNA test in January. In February she took an Eliza. Then in March she took the DNA test at PAW. "That first week she [Sharon Mitchell] told me that there was something wrong with the blood work. It was contaminated. It would take another week. Two weeks go by. She told me that the doctor had to talk to me. That my test was inconclusive. Am I taking any medications that could affect my results? I said I'm on XXXX for my stomach. She said yeah, that might be it. I called the doctor [Dr. York] and he didn't call me back. He wouldn't return my calls. I didn't know what to do. Was I [HIV] positive or not? That's malpractice not to call me back.

"I went home and told my parents. My dad is a doctor. My mom called UCLA and SF and they never even heard of getting an "inconclusive" result. There is no such thing. It means the blood was contaminated and nobody wanted to admit it. They mishandled it. [Brooke Ashley and others have told similar stories of their blood drawn from PAW was contaminated.]

"The next day I went to the North Hollywood clinic, to Dr. Lepley who I love. She took care of me. I got my test back a few days later and I was fine.

"I told everybody 'do not go to PAW.' So Sharon Mitchell called me up, yelling at me and threatening to sue that I was slandering the doctor…

"PAW should not be in operation. I was up for two days not knowing [whether she was HIV positive]. And I'd just worked with Brooke Ashley in February. I'd thought I'd caught it. I called the heads of UCLA and asked if it was possible to get it [HIV] through girl-girl contact.

"When you go to North Hollywood Clinic, you're in a sterilized room. They're using gloves. Over at PAW you're in a f---ing office. They shouldn't even be allowed to draw blood. Do they have a permit to draw blood?

"They're screwing up with the blood. I don't know if it is in the laboratory… I think it is when they're taking it, they're not using sterile conditions. At PAW, people are going back and forth. Who knows who was taking the blood there? I think it was a way for them to make money. And they say they are protecting adult welfare? They didn't give a s--- about me. They left me out to…

"They had me cancelled from everything [work]. Nobody would hire me. They found out immediately that my test was inconclusive. Sharon Mitchell got the word to everyone. In a minute. It was unbelievable. PAW didn't give a s--- about me. I was cancelled by VCA, Jim Lane, everybody…"

Pat Riley: "Rubbish. Western Blot frequently gives "inconclusive" results. There are even recommendations by the CDC for handling the situation (retest, retest, then if all tests are inconclusive, consider negative). Nor is the blood contaminated as in the sense of getting dirt in the vial; it's due to the various proteins that are being tested for being present as a result of other diseases or drugs. This also occurs with DNA testing and the high rate of false positives is one of the major reasons the CDC doesn't recommend it as a screening test.

"I finally saw "Jackie" in Freshman Fantasies #12 where she's credited as "Violet". She has a passable face, shoulder length dark red hair, small tits, hairy pussy, slightly too big a butt, some butt acne, not a tight waist, infant-damaged belly with stretch marks but no C-section scar, and what appear to be two tiny tattoos, one on her right thigh outside near her knee and the other on her left thigh near her hip. These may not actually be tattoos but they're not bruises, nor pimples; they look like someone took a broad-tip magic marker and put a slash on her leg. She has a nice smile and a down-to-earth attitude but her command of the English language is somewhat lacking; I've heard kindergarten kids speak more fluently.

"The scene called "Double Meat In The Box" starts (after the interview with Mike during which she confirms the 20 years old and coming from LA but naturally says nothing about infants) with her, Dave Hardman, and Steve Taylor playing pool. For no apparent reason they start to screw over the pool table, then moving to the couch where they do their double cuntal (DPP to you wimps) ending in facials. No condoms were sighted. Both Hardman and Taylor have their usual difficulty jerking off so I don't think she has anything to worry about, pregnancy-wise. The scene is not erotic (did you expect it to be?) with a concentration on the gymnastics rather than displaying any passion."

Rob and I talk about Regan Senter who a decade ago decided to open a bank. He called it "Bank of Americas." People came in and deposited money. He eventually got busted and served federal time.

"I like Regan," says Rob, "as much as I like Luke F-rd."

Comedian Vinny Marz did stand-up for years with porner "James DiGiorgio" and has appeared in four of Jim's movies. In this latest video, Vinny plays a Mafia thug.

Sin City's PR Director Lysa Stone writes to me:

In order to ensure that you print "the truth" about Sin City, I'll provide you with the correct information. Mr. Sturman has been a little upset that you're receiving erroneous information. Again, in this Holy Week, shall I remind you of Lashon Hara [slanderous speech].

Shay Sweet is indeed our newest contract starlet. She joins Nikki Lynn as our second beautiful blonde babe. Shay's first contract movie is the "Sweet Life" starring Felicia, Taylor St. Claire, Gina Rider, Alexandra Nice, Mark Davis, and JJ Michaels.

Nikki Lynn filmed "The Brat Pack" last week. Both movies will be available later this Fall.

Chuck Martino is indeed our director of production. Despite the many musings in the adult industry, David Sturman has not lost his mind. Not in the last 3 years has our production schedule been so tight or so organized thanks to Chuck. He is an excellent addition to our team. Regarding past rumours about Chuck, he is clean and sober, happy with Shay and has a tremendous outlook on his future as a businessman and a gentleman. We have seen no indication of his past alleged behavior. We at Sin City believe in second chances and we hope the adult industry would extend to Chuck the same.

Regarding postings on our "disorganization" we'd like to think of it as "reorganization". True, Steve Karmelin and Mark Peterson left for greener pastures but it happens in every business, everyday. Our new warehouse manager is excellent and efficient, and of course I've already mentioned Chuck.

We remain committed to our fantastic directors, Michael Raven, Roy Karch, Mike South, Kris Kramski and Lasse Braun. Expect more movies from all of them soon. We launch our new Gonzo line, Sinister Productions, later this Fall. Mike South will put out his new series on this label.

So despite the hysteria of Sin City being in disarray and my well-respected boss having lost his mind, the opposite is true. Very exciting things are happening at Sin City and we've never worked so closely as a team before.

Mxyzptlk@hotmail.com writes from Australia:

Australia goes to the polls in a few days to elect a new parliament, possibly a new government. Viewers of X-rated videos should carefully consider their options at this election.

In 1993, the Liberal Party, under leader John Hewson, pledged to ban X-rated videos if elected. The announcement was made by Shadow Attorney-General and probable future leader Peter Costello, who made clear his own distaste for pornography and the porn industry. Fortunately, they were not elected.

(Note for foreign readers: in the Australian context, "Liberal" means Right of Centre, equivalent to the British Conservative Party and the US Republicans- don't ask why.)

In 1996, under new (old) leader, John Howard, this policy remained, but was kept quiet during the campaign. Only the most careful and attentive observers would have realised that a vote for Howard was a vote to end legal porn.

This time, the Liberal/National Coalition won.

Once elected, certain Liberal and National backbenchers, particularly those who belonged to the secretive Christian parliamentary group the Lyons Forum, began work to revive and implement the policy. This push gained added impetus when the Colston defection handed the balance of power in the Senate to Catholic fundamentalist Brian Harradine, giving him an influence far beyond his actual level of support.

Harradine successfully lobbied the government on a number of "moral" issues, with a good deal of success. His pet hate, however, is pornography, which he insisted must be banned. His definition of pornography seemed to include a number of popular TV shows, but was centred on the X video classification. As had so many before him, he wrongly implied that sexual violence was permitted in the X classification, an assumption which was ultimately to bring his argument undone.

In 1997, there was a protracted public debate, which ended, bizarrely, with the government deciding that banning all hardcore videos would be too hard, but that the violent hardcore ones would be banned. The fact that they were already banned seemed to escape everybody's notice (except the porn industry, which wisely remained silent at this point). The X rating, it was decided, would be withdrawn and replaced with a new classification, Non-Violent Erotica (NVE).

NVE would not allow violence and, just to prove that this government was right on the ball with the child porn problem, it would also ban depictions of adults "posing" as minors.

The decision was announced, and it was all promptly forgotten.

Fast forward about a year. Nothing has happened. No legislation has been introduced to implement the new policy. The market has been flooded with "Seventeen" tapes ("Buy Now To Beat The Ban!!!") but the X rating remains and NVE is nowhere to be found. What happened?

Well, two things, apparently. The first problem was that the impracticality of the new law suddenly dawned on the people who had thought it up. The legislation introducing the NVE classification would be virtually identical to the legislation it would replace and this had the potential to make the government look ridiculous.

The other problem was that the Federal government couldn't introduce an effective amendment to the law in this area without the agreement of all of the States. Pornography and obscenity are criminal matters, and, as such, are the responsibility of the State governments. As with the gun laws that Howard introduced, it was, legally, a case of the Federal government interfering in State matters. In the case of the gun laws Howard had been successful, because all six States agreed to go along with him. But porn turned out to be a different matter. Queensland, WA and Tasmania are very unlikely to ever allow the level of sexual explicitness tolerated in Victoria, New South Wales and (especially) the ACT and the NT.

So when the Queensland and Tasmanian governments realised that the NVE classification changed nothing, they refused to co-operate. They insisted on a total ban. Without their agreement, the policy was dead in the water.

The whole business was quietly dropped. Porn consumers in the ACT, NT, NSW and Victoria can still buy over the counter more or less legally and residents of other States have mail order from Canberra and Darwin.

So what's the relevance to this election?

There are several important factors to consider:

1. Brian Harradine is standing for reelection in Tasmania. If you live there, don't even think about voting for him. He hasn't given up yet and would dearly love to be remembered as the man who stamped out filth.

2. Even if he is not reelected, Harradine's term does not expire until next June. He will continue to exercise influence until then if the Coalition is reelected. He is already lobbying the government over the appointment of the next Chief Censor, a post which has been vacant since the retirement several months ago of the excellent John Dickie, and which needs to be filled before the end of the year. In an attempt to keep him on side, a reelected Howard government is certain to appoint a "Large C" Conservative to the post.

3. The Lyons Forum will continue to exercise influence in any new Coalition government. They were successful in their campaign on the Euthanasia legislation and can be expected to renew their assault on the X rating. These people are on a mission from God.

4. Membership of the Lyons Forum is a secret, but Peter Costello is widely believed to be a member. Certainly, he is sympathetic to their views, and is on record as opposing porn. Consider the likelihood of him becoming Prime Minister before this next government's term is up if they are reelected.

5. The head of the Lyons Forum is Kevin Andrews, the member for Menzies, a Victorian seat based on Doncaster and Templestowe, also taking in some of Ringwood. Most other members are unknown, but membership could be as high as a third of the Liberal/National parliamentary representation. If you have a local Liberal or National member, ask them if they are a member of the Forum. Insist on your right to know what your elected representative is up to in your name. Judge them by their answers.

6. The ALP, the Australian Democrats and the Greens have all supported the continuation of the present X classification.

Obviously, you must consider a range of issues in determining your vote, but be aware that a vote for the Coalition endangers your right to view sexually explicit videos.

WARSAW (Reuters) - The Polish sex industry opened its first legal trade fair on Friday, taking advantage of a new law clarifying the status of pornography in the largely Roman Catholic country.

International porn stars mingled with businessmen selling erotic confectionary at the Eroticon '98 show, which attracted large crowds of both men and women on its opening day.

``The new law helps us a lot,'' said Jaroslaw Ender, president of the Pink Press, a Polish erotic publishing concern which is staging the three-day event in a popular disco.

``Now we know what's allowed. Before we had to guess.''

The new law, in force since September 1st, prohibits the public display of material likely to offend but permits in private everything but erotica involving children, animals and violence.

Publishers have had to remove nudity from the covers of magazines sold in kiosks and wrap nontransparent foil around books which might be sold openly in other European countries.

But Ender said the moves were unlikely to hit the sales of hard-core porn magazines, thought to run to between 300,000 to 400,000 a month in Poland, a country of 39 million people.
