Curious writes: Porn is not so funny to me anymore. I really got back into porn when I connected with lf.com about 15 months ago. Until then I had some late eighties/early 90's stuff that was sensual and erotic. It was at your sight where I learned of bukkakes, anal gapes, choke f---ing, ... I used to think this was funny in a morbid kind of way. Funny as in, how could a human being stoop to this to make $300? Then I slowly began to vilify the producers for manufacturing the hateful themed porn (Max, Kahn Tusion, ...). But since I've been reading RAME I believe that I've finally placed the blame properly. The blame for the growing misogyny in porn rests clearly with the fans who buy it. Just yesterday, someone on RAME was asking for recommendations for videos titles that had "painful" anals. Another guy was inquiring if a blow job tape where two of the women vomit was finally out. There are no end of Max fans there praising his victimization of women and criticizing him when he is not brutal enough. Maybe they are a vocal minority, but I am not so sure. I find this deeply disturbing.

I enjoy Gene's honesty. He does not seem to be operating under the false assumption that porn is "art" or "free speech." As esteemed as he is by the porn industry he is still able to laugh at others and most importantly himself. Case in point, when he said he may go before the cameras in a sex scene. errr ... That was a joke. Right?

Dialers - Are They Good For The Jews?

Bob Jones writes: "These folks seem to think that as long as there is a disclaimer telling customers not to use other people's credit cards, and some way to cancel an account, that they're not violating the law. That's just wrong. If websites know, or should know, that dialers are primarily being used by children, the websites need to stop using dialers. They can't just post a sign saying "no-one under 18" and think that they're O.K."

Ian replies: I liked Bob Jones's letter, which told the porn industry some home truths, but I thought his criticism of dialers (I would spell it 'diallers', but when in Rome...) didn't go far enough. Of course, the possibility that children will use the service is a legitimate concern. However, the scheme is a trap for adults too, who are encouraged to use dialers instead of credit cards to access sites, even though the resulting phone bills will inevitably be far higher than anything that they'd face if they used their cards. The scheme preys on people's ignorance and looks to me like a straightforward scam. I'm grateful to your site for educating me about dialers. I immediately leave any site containing them since I assume that if they are prepared to try to rob me one way, they may well try to do it other ways. Any half-decent Competition Authority would want to put a stop to such schemes, and it is likely to look very hard indeed, and unsympathetically, at ALL the activities of a company which routinely uses them. Of course, customers try to steal from the web companies, but that doesn't justify companies trying to steal from their customers. In particular, a show that apparently runs each year just before Thanksgiving - the "Praise-a-thon". Callers call up to tell the audience what they are thankful to Jesus for, and tell some of the most heart-rending stories of woe, none of which it seems, is enough to break their fierce faith in Jesus.

Oh, I know what you cynical porners (and that includes YOU, Luke), must be thinking: "Luke is mocking Christianity again". Not so! In fact, I am very touched by this display of Christian faith and piety, and think less well of Judaism when I consider just how far removed my fellow jews are from such faith. I mean, can you imagine an impoverished jew calling up a jewish radio station both to acknowledge his (financially) abject state, AND then praising the Lord of Hosts? And can you imagine HOURS of this, and multitudes of jews with hard luck stories patiently waiting for the opportunity to witness for Jehova? No, of course you cannot. Not Japster, not Persian Kitty - none of them would ever do either, and neither would the bulk of America's hypersecularized jews.

Again, I am touched by this display of Christian piety, and cannot help but wonder if there is not a kernel of truth at its heart. Amalek wishes one and all a happy Thanksgiving, even to porners, cynical secular jews and even to Satmar jews who refuse to acknowledge our holidays.
