Vivid-XCritic Sex Tracker Poll Also Shows Majority Think Porn Is A "Positive Part of Culture"
LOS ANGELES – (December 3, 2012) – The latest Vivid Entertainment-XCritic.com "Sex Tracker" poll indicates that 61.4 percent of men would consider marrying a porn star and 85.8 percent said they would be happy to date one. The online survey of sexual preferences also revealed that 86.7 percent of respondents consider adult entertainment to be "a positive part of our culture."
And, the survey indicates, people learn from the adult films they watch, with 64.3 percent of respondents saying they’ve tried "positions or moves" from a film in their personal sex lives "and it was great." Another 60.4 percent said they have used sex toys on themselves, on a partner or together with a partner.
Amidst a rapid rise in availability of "free" porn on so-called tube sites, the Sex Tracker survey discovered that 33.5 percent of respondents "just use them to get off." While 29 percent prefer to see their favorite performer on a DVD release verses any other delivery method.
The survey also asked respondents to name their favorite XCritic reviewer, the top nod in the poll went to veteran reviewer Don Houston, a voter in the annual AVN Awards, Member of the XRCO and contributor to the XBIZ Award Nominations. The sixth Vivid Entertainment –XCritic Sex Tracker Poll ran on XCritic.com in November as a completely anonymous survey administered by a third party polling company. The survey received over 500 responses, 58% of which classified themselves as "Moderate Watchers" of adult entertainment.

Not sure how true this is, I think many guys would date a porn star, living with them? Depends on the quality of the person, which is for everyone not just folks in porn. I think some guys will think they will have this awesome sex life, maybe they will and maybe they wont. They’re quality people in porn like everywhere, look at Julia Ann for example, she has a pretty varied life, especially on saving pets. Of course there is Lucky, as decent a person as I have known, from a good family, goes to church and so on. Of course there is the common denominator of age with both of them. Porn stars are just people, well some are.
With 61% of the males saying yes to porn star marriage how many would marry a porn star only if she quit porn and how many would marry a porn star while she continued making porn with other males should be 2 seperate questions.
The porn industry exaggerates just about everything they do purely in the interest of public relations, and history always has this way of repeating itself for some reason. This time they’re trying to pass off the claim that every guy wants to date a porn star..What a crock!
This “survey” doesn’t prove anything, I’ve seen the episode of Penn and Teller about Frank Luntz to know better: Numbers don’t lie, people do!
This is a very incorrect headline with the most inaccurate findings, without so much as a source, that would put Fox News to shame. 61 and 85% of men wouldn’t date/marry a pornstar – It was the 61 and 85% of the 500 people asked by a porn-financed company and 58% of those people are porn consumers. Did these bozos really think we would buy those results with how much they skewed it?
This survey was anything but random and did not include things like a control group or where they found their survey demographics at (Let me guess: They put the survey on their website right?) The real world doesn’t have a staggering 58/85% rate of men who watch porn, only a company of nitwits like Vivid would try to pass off such propaganda as truth.
I would never date one, much less marry one, and I can’t think of anybody who in their right mind would. I remember the documentary that Louis Theroux produced about the porn industry, those men with porn star girlfriends do NOT represent 58 and 85% of the male population. Don’t get me wrong there are some sad, desperate motherfuckers out there who think a hole is a hole but they’re in the minority and I in no way want to be affiliated with such people.
Dollars to donuts I could go ask 10 of my friends and maaaaaybe 1 would say yes..There, I just lowered it to 10%. Was it a valid survey? No, but neither was this pile of male-defaming gibberish.

This survey data is completely pointless because it came from biased traffic – these people surveyed were regular visitors of a porn site – xcritic so the biased data invalidates the outcome as they are considered porn fans already.
When you survey about any subject you need a sampling from all kinds of people with every type of background. So really the better headline would be … dedicated porn fans who were surveyed would date and/or marry a porn star.
This press release implies the average joe was involved but clearly that is not the case. But on that subject, would be rather interesting to find out that information.
